What are some of the most (objectively) significant events to have occurred in the NSG Forum's colorful history?

I suppose this is more of a site-wide thing than a specific forum matter, but the May Massacre will always stand out to me. An impressive work by the moderation team to make all that happen.

You might also be interested in the Predator deletions, which caused quite a stir back in the day.

I can't speak for anything pre-2014, but those are just two that I remember well.

Probably the two most significant forum events were the two forum moves. The first from the clunky old forums onto Jolt in... I want to say 2005-? And the second where we collectively flipped Jolt/OMAC off and moved back to independent forums in 2009. Lesser significant events would probably include the multiple and finally permanent bans on Chat/Chat Location Threads in F7 (tangentially related to the already mentioned May Massacre), the establishment of the Roleplay Mentors for NS/II and P2TM, and more recently the shuttering of the Left Wing/Right Wing Discussion threads.

I mean, arguably the appointment of the first batch of forum mods in April 2003 was probably one of the most significant, in that it actually made the forums less spammy and properly organized.

In the time I've been around? I remember one NSG thread getting so bad that Reploid had to do a massive trawl in which several users came under fire. Can't remember the thread though.

I've only been around since 2018, but the biggest forum event I've seen was a thread on the Strasburg Incident. It got derailed about four, maybe five pages in and turned into a holy war in the comments, with this one guy just saying, "No U," and bashing every religion he could think of. There were several attempts to get the thread back on track, but it eventually got locked and several nations, including myself, were warned.

There were several attempts to get the thread back on track, but it eventually got locked and several nations, including myself, were warned.

But anyway, as Reppy said, the most significant event in my time here was the shutdown of the RWDT and LWDT.

The RWDT was an unmanageable mess and had been for years. People just didn't want to admit it and plenty still don't.

Oh, he officially quit the game? I did not know that. And I am aware of this.

This isn't a forum-specific event, per se, but the so-called Drewpocalypse was initiated the day before I joined NS. So the number of nations was high for a little while before all of the nations CTE'd. Something I did not like about that was what seemed to me to be an attack on Drew's nation for causing such a massive influx.
