I don’t really like the Among Us premise, it really complicates the whole issue. Space crime/murder/warfare can make some really interesting issues without referencing a game that’ll be irrelevant in about three months

Since the recent rocket launch by the world-famous company Spook-X, it has been revealed that two of the astronauts onboard were impostors from Blackacre, and that they subsequently killed the crewmates onboard and detroyed the ship. Although it may have been two opinionated individuals, some are speculating that it was a secret Blackacrean government-sponsored terrorist attack.

So Blackacre committed an act of war and destroyed a civilian spacecraft. That’s your premise.

If you want to vary it a bit you could add some Cluedo references ("why was there even a candlestick on a space station?!"), though beware of #459.

More than omit the references, though, the dilemma needs to feel more like it's its own dilemma. Space terrorism could be an incredibly interesting issue (that can tangentially reference Among Us or Cluedo or whatever) and this doesn't quite encapsulate that feeling. It leaned heavily on Among Us rather than making the issue as interesting as possible. I know that's a horribly subjective criteria to judge an issue by, but I think you'd be better off to re-write the issue from the ground up with a sprinkle of references, rather than just gut the issue by removing all the references currently there.

That way you'll end up with a good issue that references Among Us, rather than an issue that leans heavily on Among Us (and subsequently, an issue that feels a bit hollow without any Among Us references).
