Honeydewistania wrote:ICly, why Commend someone for winning an election? It’s commending someone for having a position of power. What they did as SecGen (I.e. nothing) is what should be commendable. There’s many things commendable about Kuriko but winning an Aprils Fools Election isn’t one

Thanking Kuriko for their contributions specifically to 10000 Islands, in which they have more time than any other as Delegate,

This read clumsily, you should fix it

It adds flavor. It makes enough sense for the body in which an individual will presumably have some form of power over to congratulate them on their election - and it also makes sense for this congratulation to be included in a broader form of recognition. Perhaps this will be a point of contention, but I don't think that everything in a commendation needs to be directly commendable - it should tell a story that paints a broad picture as to why they're commendable. I think that this clause helps paint that picture. It seems to me like you just want me to take it out because you personally don't find it commendable - which is fine, but you have to understand that it's not enough for me to take it out.

Fixed the error in that clause.

Okay. Well, it’s obvious I’m not going to convince you to remove it, but could you at least word is like ‘Applauding Kurikoan Empress for taking upon the mantle of Secretary General of this esteemed institution, ensuring greater political stability’ along those lines, since it’s actually commending someone for what they did as SecGen instead of having a noble campaign to become SecGen

Nothing about the blatant violation of Syria's national sovereignty? Pass.

Could you please at least change the SecGen clause to something less ‘commend for a position’?

Or drop it all together, as it is completely superfluous.

Seems pretty good, but didn't you repeal her other commendation?

To be fair, I don't think there's much that you can do with this concept since the position doesn't have any powers or influences. It's not even really using it as an argument for a commendation so much as doing an acknowledging hat tip through the commendation, so it should be entirely permissible as-written.

I know, but at least if you’re going to reference a position that has no power, no real influence and was an April Fools Election it can at least be a little more creative. It reads completely out of place in the entire commendation.

Sorry if I’m being pedantic about this.

Edit: The Monarchist Entente was also raided by a coalition of despicable raiders, so you might wanna add that too, since you did that for Liberate Boston

Edit 2: you’ve used ‘Celebrating...’ twice, might want to change that

A couple of minor suggestions.

Celebrating the success of Kuriko in and around the world, such as in the foundation and maintenance of The Hole To Hide In, which continues to hold one of the largest and most well-documented geopolitical communities,

Celebrating that during their time as Delegate, they have ushered in a new era of international relations with for the region, as seen through treaties with Yggdrasil, the East Pacific, and the South Pacific, as well as through various cultural exchanges with the Rejected Realms and the North Pacific,

While it may not stop me voting in favour of this proposal, I believe the last clause about the Sec-Gen election is completely superfluous and really should be removed.

BBD's changes have been implemented. The SecGen clause has been removed even though I think it adds a worthy amount of flavor for its inclusion. Submission still planned for the sixteenth.

Maybe but Syria is a stain on his/her record. That place is now worse than it was under “raider” control.
