Tally-O!
I use my NationStates stats, because a population of billions/trillions and an economy of hundreds of trillions is totally viable, trust me.
But seriously, aside from the population and GDP, just assume that my NS stats are roughly accurate.

Support: Paleo-imperialism, conservatism, libertarianism, Christianity.
Against: Stupid people, resistance to industrial progress, alt-right, any form of government at or beyond socialism.

Hey uh, heads up, I'm going through some serious writer's block when it comes to this RP ATM, not sure why, but I am having a mighty hard time coming up with a good IC post, and an even harder time workshopping a potential character #2. Apologies.
NS stats are not used.

Maybe with people having comedy or otherwise writer's block, we should toss around some ideas here. It might spur people on.

These are just helps that can get you to think about your character(s). They can be used in the IC but don't have to be.

So for example - what would your character make a wager on, and what would they bet?

I'm looking at my schedule here, and I'm wondering if it would work with the story if I rejoined with Yang, or if it's better to make a new character? I could even make the new character into someone easily distracted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivPFlKyeypU

Of course I could always retcon Yang to be like that too.

Awesome, thanks! Apologies in advance if my noobiness shows. I am a bit new to rping in the Multiverse and I'm quite rusty with rp in general so if at any point my rping hurts the flow of the rp or is simply not up to par, I understand and welcome all feedback.

So far, I'm divided between two character ideas. Can I get some feedback on these concepts and which might be more suitable?
The first concept I had in mind is a man known for his gambling, excessive use of mustache oil, and high sense of self. At his core, he's a swindler chasing money with his ridiculous get-rich-quick schemes. Though he hails from the industrialized East, after one too many schemes made him a great deal of enemies, he sought out a new life in the West. Now in the West, he uses his natural charisma to exploit the naive spirit of opportunist carpetbaggers and gambles to earn a living - though not without a couple tricks up his sleeve. When he isn't swindling others, he lulls in the back of a bar, playing with cards, trying to use his natural charisma to charm someone into buying him a drink, and boasting about his nonexistent successful life in the East.
My second character concept is a shameless ripoff of Ashe from Overwatch. This character is the heiress of a successful company in the East. Though she was raised in a wealthy household where every want and whim was satisfied in an instant, she grew to despise the monotony of this life. She yearns for a life of unpredictability, of adversity, and of adventure. Entranced by the uncertainty and free spirit of the West, she abandoned her wealthy life to become a pioneer of the West. She tries to play herself off as some fearless, gunslinging criminal - as if to spite her old life - even if she can hardly say a curse word without stuttering and can barely handle a gun.

Hey Dave. I like the swindler (#1) myself.

And don't worry about being a noon. We take all kinds here.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on the swindler some more then. Though I am still considering the second idea.

Here are some thoughts on the character. These are mainly notes for future reference when I get to filling out the app, but feedback is appreciated:
  • There is currently a bounty on his head in the East for stealing an heirloom of a wealthy family, leading to his escape to the West. Though there have been whispers of his schemes in the West. To cover his tracks, he has shed his crafty, Bostonian image for a facade of a man of privilege and gambling. This is why he grew a magnificent mustache.
  • Though he has never been a man of wealth, he carries himself as though he were one. He lives out the motto, "dress for the job you want." He spends what little savings he has on mustache oil, personal hygiene, and dandy attire. He also speaks in something of an elegant British accent in place of his formerly Bostonian one. He does all this to create the impression of himself being a wealthy and sophisticated man, which is especially helpful when it comes to his swindling. "Invest in my business. I've led many enterprises to success!" or "I am a man with integrity. How dare you accuse me of cheating in a game of poker!"
  • Rarely has the thought of settling down and raising a family crossed his mind. The pursuit for wealth and the fabled, luxurious life of a rich man are almost all-consuming. So much so that his desires oft lead him into danger.

Dave - I like it.

Also, if you want to try two characters, you have my permission as long as you can do it.

Vox - I've reconsidered my personal rule for this situation and will make an exception. I will post for Beaux by tonight.

GRAND THEFT HORSE application

Name: "The Woman with No Name"/"Blondie"
Job: Drifter
Age: 26
Sex: Female
Appearance:
Image

Image

Skills: Dumb luck, absent minded, easily distracted, short attention span, happy-go-lucky, bad memory, but somehow still a capable shot, rider, and lasso-thrower.

Stuff: Poncho, hat, boots, cigarillos, revolver, rifle, lasso, horse.

Goals: No actual goals.

Bio: This woman, let's call her Blondie (most people do, plus she's might've actually forgotten her real name), is an English working class lass, and she still has the accent to prove it. Somehow she came across a ticket to America and went across the pond, more or less on a whim. That's how she mostly do things, just tagging along and going with the flow. Her mottos are "sure, why not?" and "what's the worst thing that can happen?". Turns out a lot of bad things can happen with that attitude, but so far she's always managed to get out of any dire situations completely unharmed, and without having learned anything.

Leave here: Hang'em

GRAND THEFT HORSE application

Name: Clara Everglow under the guise of Cliff Northwood
Job: Aimless wanderer; picks up whatever labor is available - particularly with writing and literature
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Appearance: Clara Everglow, guised as the lawless cowpoke Cliff Northwood, carries herself with a tall, slender stature of 5'8". She oft wears a dusty oversized slacks hanging by suspenders, a collared shirt, and a dark red poncho with Mexican-inspired designs, much like the cowboys she's read about. Her hair was haphazardly cut short with her knife so that, like her baggy clothing, it would conceal her feminine features.

Skills: Clara is a prolific reader and writer, and she is great at handling horses.

Stuff: Clara has a horse, poorly-maintained revolver with a handful of bullets, hunting knife, several books, couple of matches, bedroll, and some coin.

Goals: To seek out the same sorts of exhilarating adventures she'd read about of lawless cowboys in the Wild West.

Bio:
Heiress of the booming Everglow Steel Company, Clara lived in the lap of luxury. To address every want and whim was a legion of servants ready at a moment's notice. She was raised under the expectations of high society, born and bred like a delicate, ceramic doll to live a monotonous existence. Yet it was this sort of assured, sheltered life that she despised if not feared. She yearned for unpredictability, for the freedom to act brazen and bold. Literature served as her only escape from this life; fictional stories of outlaws taking on the West exhilarated her more than anything.
She finally decided to act, to abandon her monotonous life, when the heir of Everglow Steel Company's greatest competitor asked for her hand in marriage as an olive branch to the Everglows. Everyone from her family to her peers expected if not demanded Clara agree. Instead, Clara did the only reasonable thing one would do in that situation and ran away in the middle of the night, adopted the identity of a cowboy, and headed westward with no clear destination or plan in mind.
Two years after that night, Clara lives under the guise of the rootin-tootin Cliff Northwood, having adopted a rugged persona and a deep voice to imitate a man's - a comically terrible imitation - to go along with it. Though she lives without financial security has made for a difficult life, she enjoys the freedom of being able to actually disagree with authority, say curse words, go out hunting, and live her life without under the constant scrutiny of her family and high society! She can barely handle a gun and hardly anyone takes her cowboy persona seriously, but she still remains optimistic that she can embark on the fabled adventures recounted in her books.
