President Kaarina Makes Statement in Support of Donnerland
Statement comes in wake of Anowan coup and Donnish raid.

SIEVI - The President of Rannimaa made a statement to Parliament this morning attacking Anowan instability and their presence in the South Atlantic. Mrs Kaarina also labelled the Anowan military coup d’état as barbaric, backing up the Donnish move to secure multiple individuals who would likely have otherwise been executed along with many of their colleagues.

President Kaarina’s statement received little push back from coalition parties, but were labelled as ‘war mongering’ by Green Party leadership. The head of the Foreign Affairs Committee Juhani Kemppainen (Federalist) made a statement of support after the President’s remarks. ‘The Anowan coup and the threats made by the new government, explicit and not, towards Donnerland are yet another example of Anowan policy makers choosing the military option, even against their own people and government. It cannot be expected that this new Anowan government will be any less destabilising or any less violent than its predecessors.’ He went on to conclude that ‘the members of this chamber should face the reality that the situation in the South Atlantic is likely to get worse as a result of Anowan actions.’

President Kaarina is expected to make a new push for greater funds to be put to naval construction within the coming weeks as a response to Anowan instability. It has been widely assumed that the President was going to push for an increase in Rannimaa’s nuclear arsenal instead as she considers it inadequate to properly deter Anowan aggression or nuclear weapon use within the South Atlantic. However, such a move during a time where the new Roman government, which Rannian policy makers still maintain significant reservations about, is reducing its nuclear stockpile could be seen as too belligerent. The Kaarina administration is attempting to pursue a policy of mild reconciliation and de-escalation with the new government in Rome.

It is unlikely that the opposition would now be able to deny the President an increase in defence spending if requested given the current state of global affairs placing national defence back into a position of prominence. It is likely that the ruling coalition would be able to count on the support of most of its members if it were to make such a move, but it would put other spending plans, particularly in terms of energy infrastructure renewal, under greater stress.
It is believed that multiple units of the navy and aerospace forces have been put onto alert over the Anowan coup in case of a worst case scenario in the South Atlantic. No official statement on the matter has yet been made, but social media has reported a heightened level of activity at multiple naval bases. It should be noted that this is a normal response to certain kinds of events and does not seem to be out of the ordinary or on a scale to warrant concern.

Atlantic Pact Tensions

It has been a busy time for the staff of the Norn and Nauchrten embassies in the Allied States and Donnerland, following the events of the Anowan coup a week ago. Following the ousting of the Anowan Overseer Council, it has been confirmed that Donnish personnel secured several of the Councilors, after having fought their way through Anowan security personnel. While the majority of the Atlantic Pact have remained neutral in this matter, several member states have committed military personnel to the support of others and many, including Nornsmark, have raised their level of military readiness in the event of hostilities. Luckily, the hardworking diplomats of the Foreign Department have managed to bring both the Allied States and Donnerland to the table. Mediation talks are to be conducted in the Kohlefeld Forum, hosted jointly by the Foreign Department and Nauchrten diplomats. The talks are scheduled for a week from now, with Atlantic Pact observers.

In the meantime, trials of former Anowan Councilors are to be conducted within the Nauchrten embassy in the Allied States, with a number of observers from the Atlantic Pact. These observers include the Donnish, Nauchrten, and ourselves. All but one trial is said to be open, and while der Telegrammet have tried extensively to determine who precisely is to be tried behind closed doors, the heightened security of recent days has made our sources somewhat more cautious to approach us. However, from the sources that were willing to talk we've learned that the return of the Councilors is to be observed by both Nornsmark and Nauchrten military personnel. For the sake of our (admittedly few) international readers, understand that the Foreign Department has kept to the bare minimum of military deployments required by the Atlantic Pact, keeping only one brigade on peacekeeping deployment. This either indicates a shift in the Foreign Department's doctrine, or a sign of the danger this situation presents.

While the more immediate crisis seems to have been adequately tended to, the future of the Atlantic Pact remains up in the air. As more nations attach themselves to either Anowa or Donnerland in this matter, tensions are only likely to escalate. Communiques are still flying left and right within Atlantic Pact channels and the situation is changing on a moment-to-moment basis. Many commentators have claimed that this will be the 'make or break moment' of the Atlantic Pact. One of our sources within the Foreign Department stated: "If the talks fail, which I figure they will--neither the Anowans or the Donnish are known for their flexible foreign policy--the higher ups seem to be leaning towards supporting the Anowans. Of course, if the talks fail that means they'll likely be courting a proper war with the Donnish. I think you can piece together what I'm saying from there." This source has declined to be credited, citing that his 'cynicism shouldn't affect his career.'

If the situation does escalate, it will likely mean that Nornsmark's long-standing policy of militant neutrality will come to an end. In the emergency session today, conservative members of the Alltinget have been arguing for an immediate exit from the Atlantic Pact, whereas members of the Trade, Green and oddly the Legionnaire's parties are arguing to take a more proactive stance regarding the situation, though the LP are arguing for military action, whereas the HNP and the GP are advocating for a harsher diplomatic stance, with the PM Evert Rask (GP) comparing the crisis to a "toddler's tantrum" and that both nations need to "collectively get over themselves," neither of which statements have been well received by... well, by anyone.

Previously, this fishing spot was used by both Romulan and Reman fishers. This area is also claimed by both nations.

There have been several minor incidents between the Romulan and Reman fishers, including the ramming of a Romulan fishing boat by a Reman fishing boat. This move by the Romulan government is the most recent in a series or rising tensions.

Former Overseer Councilers to be tried in Nauchrten Embassy

Following days of negotiations in the Joint City of Kohlefeld, Anowan and Donnish delegations have reached a compromise regarding the ongoing crisis. The former Councilers of the defunct Overseer Council are to be turned over to Anowan custody, to be tried in the Nauchrten embassy in the old quarter of Terrenus under the supervision of 3rd party officials to ensure that no mistrial takes place. Preliminary evidence so far revealed publicly, indicates that the basis of charges against the overseer councilers, stems from classified involvement regarding the Kubatian Insurrection, and direct involvement in the Olympian program's many human rights abuses. Jan Kowalski, a third party legal expert says that "[he] expects the trial to last no longer than 2 weeks, at least for those held publicly. General Kaleb Wach's trial is to remained locked to the public, and even to foreign observers, due to his involvement in classified military projects that are still in use with the Anowan military.

The silent vigil outside the Donnish embassy has entered it's fifth day today, a silent protest in regards to the actions and response by the Donnish government on the first of July. Banners bearing the names and photos of those killed in action due to Donnish interference have been displayed across the street from the embassy's main gate, with decaying animal corpses being dumped near the fence of the grounds in defiance. Domestically, the House of Commons has ultimately elected to withdraw from the Rollo Agreement. Henceforth removing the previously free crossings between the Anowan and Donnish border and sea ports. It also renders most class of travel visa from the state of Donnerland null and void.

Regardless of the political sailing in Anowa, the military has taken a different approach, the Joint Chiefs of staff have announced that the 2nd Armoured Division is to be rebased from Janisbergin, Jermyni, to Blackrock, Nordland. A so called 'pre-emptive measure' to prevent further hostile incursions across the Donnish-Anowan border. Similar movements are being recorded in other regions from Anowan personnel as well. Anowan personnel are being withdrawn from all PACT commitments, including Multinational Brigades, as notices have been given to PACT nation states to withdraw their troops from the Multinational Brigade South in Kubati within the next 21 days. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Wolfram Herrman, has stated when questioned, "We have no plans now, nor in future, to return ballistic missiles to Kubati. Nuclear armed or not."

In light of recent events, as well as strongly worded letter from the Anowan military leadership to all PACT nations involved, The Home office has released a statement declaring the removal of Parcian military personal from Anowan based multinational PACT fast response brigade, finally severing the last line of military cooperation between Anowa and Parcia fallowing the recent events that took place during the Anowan coup de ta.

The 3 company sized formations, a Royal Regular, Royal marine, and Royal Bush Ranger Corps respectively, were airlifted using PRAF TS-30 "Bull" cargo planes. Respectively, the Anowan contingent attached to the PACT regional Fast response brigade in Northern Quaria was given much in the same, packing up shop and flying home earlier today. General Sectary Marie Cuapa, head of the Home Office's Military Publicity board, stated that the it was the official stance of the Home Office and the Crown to allow the Anowan officers and personal safe passage home in light of the recent heightened tensions between Anowa, donnerland, and the nations of PACT.

In light of recent news coverage of Donnish DIA operations in Anowa, specifically speaking the Anowan military personal killed during the brief fire fight, several hundred Parcian citizens, joined by Anowan expats and immigrants, held a silent vigil fallowed by an active protest outside the Donnish embassy in the nation's Capital of Aterzge.

On the rumors of offered Military support offered by Parcian Military command to Donnish Special operations, the Home office had no comment.

Hanajima Admin Tried to Sell Oil Rights to Vanq Companies Investigation Finds

Oita- Federal Investigative Bureau investigators released a statement verifying rumors that the Hanajima administration directly colluded with Dominion governments and companies under the table and behind closed doors.

The FIB has released email chains from the personal accounts of cabinet members in the previous administration, including the PM herself, that show that Hanajima agreed to lease oil fields in and in the waters surrounding Gunagdong province to a Vanquerian state owned energy company in exchange for bribes. The regions mentioned in the emails are currently off limits to even Urranese companies for environmental reasons.

The current administration has condemned Hanajima for "selling our energy independence to foreign adversaries".

Urran Central News reached out to PM Kanzo for comment. Kanzo said in an interview that "more evidence is forthcoming as it can be verified" and that the public could expect "anti corruption purges" of multiple federal agencies.

First Urranese Forces Arrive in Krasnia

Oita- The Ministry of Defense has announced that the first of Urran's contingent to what has been dubbed "The Vale Crisis" has officially arrived within the country.

An MoD spokesperson said in a press conference that members of 10th Rescue Squadron with support provided from aircraft of the 10th Aviation Combat Brigade and Air Force maintenance and logistics squadrons arrived in Donnerland in the early morning via C-17 and C-5 transport aircraft. We are told that 10 MH-225 combat search and rescue helicopters, 3 MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicles, and five AH-64E attack helicopters are currently under preparation to fly into Krasnia under their own power. There are unconfirmed reports that CV-22 special operations aircraft were seen in the area, though the MoD refused to comment on the subject. In all we are told that around 500 Air Force personnel are in country.

The spokesperson went on to say that Urranese search/rescue and medical units will be staying in Krasnia for the duration of the crisis and that Urran was "still weighing its options" with regards to what front line combat units it will choose to send. It has been decided that squadrons F-15 and F-18 fighters will deploy to the region, though discussions are still underway with Donnerland and the UoAE to decide basing rights. The 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit and 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade are being considered as the land component, though the MoD and Prime Minister have yet to reach a decision.

Prime Minister Uchimura Kanzo released a statement in which he vowed that Urran would try to "preserve what little honor it has left" by supporting the Donnish by "providing all reasonable requested aid".

Today, Tuesday 29th of June, the Unionist Armed Forces' high command has decided, alongside the Ministry of Foreign affairs, to revoke the free access accords that was given a while back to several different militaries so they could more easily transport soldiers and military equipment to the region of the Vale. This measure, which pursued the de-escalation of hostilities in the zone without requiring direct Unionist intervention, ended up acomplishing the complete opposite effect, increasing the militarisation and tensions in the area considerably. Earlier this morning General Aato Väisänen, second in command to the head of the Unionist military, FIeld Marshal Sauvigny Laukkanen-Bellerose, explained the decision in a press conference.

"When we first agreed to the aforementioned deals, our objective was to de-escalate the raising tensions in the Vale before they reached critical mass; unfortunately for everyone involved, however, circumstances mean the end result was far from what we intended. While the situation hasn't hit rock bottom, it has vastly degenerated."

"There's no two ways about it" the general pointed out in a moment of self criticism, "we vastly misread the situation in the Vale and how our interference, regardless how indirect it was, would have affected it. We won't hide from the fact we could have reacted better or with more haste, and hope our correction on the issue will help the international community to salvage the situation more easily. We commit ourselves to fully collaborating with the United Nations in everything and anything they ask from the Union in order to correct the situation we - unknowingly . contributed to, both our Armed Forces and our civilian institutions, and we reassure our allies we remain with their best interests at heart."

According to the State Official Newsletter, the shipments of military personnel, equipment and ammunitions throught the border will be halted for the time being; the transport of basic supplies such as food, water and medical equipment (ranging from medicines to equipment and installation supplies) will remain unaffected.

Return of the Kontraktsregiments

As part of the ongoing efforts of the Munitions & Arms Reserve Reduction programme started in the mid-2010s, the Reiksheer has been selling and giving surplus arms and ammunition to effectively anything that moved. Cold War vintage Norn arms have appeared in minor conflicts on all four continents, and despite widespread criticism both abroad and at home, the programme has continued unabated, determined to get some sort of return on the massive amounts of accrued equipment--be it clout or cash. While these arms exports have done much good and bad, depending on your views, Nornsmark was famous for one more militaristic export that went the way of the dinosaur--Kontraktsregiments.

During the early 1800s and leading up to just before the Great War, Kontraktsregiments were elite Norn mercenaries, who saw combat in nearly every Helsan conflict for a hefty sum. At the time, any regiment could attempt to go freelance by opting in to receive their pay in regimental shares. Earn a thousand, and her! You and your mates own the regiment and it's arms. You of course still had to pay the Crown a tax on your earnings, as well as your own ammunition and men, and you certainly couldn't oppose Nornsmark or her allies in any armed conflict that she was involved in, but apart from that, you were on your own. But as conflicts increased in intensity and violence, the Kontraktsregiments fell out of favor--no one felt like adventuring under foreign flags when all that awaited was death in some mud-filled trench.

With the massive post-Cold War budget cuts and military personnel cuts, many trained professionals fell out of work, and while many of them found employment in the security or police sectors, many others simply couldn't re-adapt. They became solo soldiers of fortune, moving from one hotspot to the next. Occasionally they'll pop up on a news site, usually with an obituary. Occasionally. For the most part, they stay on the down low, plying their trade in the subtle and delicate manner as to avoid the attention of the monolithic UN or Pact. Nowadays, most of this original wave of Norn mercenaries are old men and women--somewhere between their late forties and fifties. Well past the mandatory age of retirement in the Reiksmilitaer.

The Munitions & Arms Reserve Reduction programme has been selling surplus at massively discounted rates to allies and countrymen for nearly a decade now (around the same amount of time that combat boots have been 'in,' the RM having done a media blitz to promote sales in '13) though there has never been a purchase on this scale. Waltenholm Security & Protection, a relatively well-known personal protection company, purchased the equivalent of a 1983 armored brigade--a total of 24 surplus main battle tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers built on license from the Nauchrtens, and about another dozen support vehicles. Alongside a mass hiring of retirees, soldiers of fortune, and reservists, WSP (pronounced as 'wasp', most of the time) recently announced the Crown sanctioned formation of the 901. Kontraktsregiment (Pansjer) af WSP--the first Kontraktsregiment formed in around about a hundred years.

According to Hugo Waltenholm, founder and sole owner of WSP, he "just felt like it was the time to get in the business of military solutions, with the Vale and all," and then jokingly, "sometimes you just need somebody in a tank to run over your ex's car and crush it like a tin can. Well, now you know who to call, we have somebody for that. Our rates are very reasonable, you know?" When asked about what precisely he plans on doing in the Vale, he stated: "Well, the UN doesn't seem to give a damn if it escalates, which it always does, and Donnerland's got their guy in their corner, the Anowans have theirs, and the Doms have got their little protege all ready for their first genocide, and I don't see anybody doing a damned thing. And so I thought to myself, 'Somebody's gotta do something or a whole lot of people are gonna die, and I guess it's gonna be me."'

GK responds to an explosion of tensions across Helsa, the Vale

Over the past couple months, tensions across Helsa have spiked, as various regions erupted into instability for a variety of reasons. We wanted to take this time to gather our bearings, and review what the GK has been doing in response to these recent events. To start, a massive coup d'etat took place in Anowa, while Donnerland violated Anowan sovereignty in a hostile rescue operation for targets of the coup. A brief, but scarily high-octane period of diplomatic tensions followed. Anowa and Donnerland managed to avert war through an agreement made in the Atlantic Pact, where captured targets of the coup would be tried in a neutral AP embassy in Anowa. Soon after, tensions in the Vale spiked as several rumours of foreign deployments became a reality, following the Great Kingdom's own deployment to the border of Krasnia. Nations such as Donnerland, the Great Kingdom, Anowa, the Dominion, and Urran have all scaled up movements and deployments in the region, quickly catapulting the situation into a powder keg just waiting to explode. In response, talks ensued in the UN, and the General Assembly is currently working to enact an accord which promises to de-escalate the situation, but the discussions are stiffly divided and contentious.

Here is what we know about the Great Kingdom's response to the recent Anowan coup. Despite the fact that most of it was behind closed doors as it was happening, much of it has been made public, and we are now able to draw up a reasonably accurate report as to how the response went down. Immediately, as the coup in Anowa was taking place, the Great Kingdom issued an order for its embassy staff to remain in place and under cover with a degree of armed readiness. GK citizens in Anowa were to comply with the orders sent out by the undertakers of the coup to remain in place, abide by curfews, and remain in a safe area. Quickly, Prime Minister Pratus and his cabinet assembled in the COBRA to deliberate a series of orders to Great Kingdom military personnel, both at home and abroad. For the first time in over two decades, Royal Strategic Command had been placed on OA 3, activating the Great Kingdom's missile defence and nuclear retaliation network, with bombers ready to fly at a moments notice. Furthermore, several Royal Air Force units were also placed under OA 3, with fighters and other aircraft also ready to sortie at a moments notice. The Royal Navy's Rollo Strait Strategic Interest Group was placed on OA 2, with fighter aircraft and UCAVs in the air on forward patrols. Meanwhile, as tensions unfolded between Anowa and Donnerland, GK officials made repeated private calls to both sides to "defuse the situation at once," reportedly fearing bad optics for the Atlantic Pact. The GK ambassador to Anowa, Magnus Jansson, was reportedly an instrumental party to negotiating the settlement deal within the communication infrastructure of the Atlantic Pact. Since then, all Orders of Alertness have been reset to OA 5, and the situation has leveled out calmly, despite lingering tensions between Anowa and Donnerland leading to several disconnection efforts undertaken by the newfound Anowan government. It was further revealed that those people arrested intended to carry out a false flag attack and revive the ghosts of Anowa's past, possibly re-igniting a Cold War between Anowa and the GK.

Unlike the tensions resulting from the Anowan coup, which were very roughly but nonetheless quickly resolved, tensions in the Vale have only soared higher, reaching a boiling point in the last few days. The Ministry of Defence, several weeks to a month ago, announced that it would be deploying a crack mechanised ground force numbering 10,000 to the border of Donnerland and Krasnia, accompanied by attack helicopters and a vast array of armed UAVs. Critics, both domestic and international, lamented the GK for its deployment, claiming that it would unnecessarily spike tensions in the region. Minister of Defence Neville Fenwick acknowledged this possiblity, but insisted that the Atlantic Pact's long-term strategic objectives for the Vale region, namely the stability and maintenance of the status quo around the Vale Gap, were much too sensitive for the GK to ignore. Since then, nations such as Urran, Anowa, and the Dominion have announced deployments to the region, with other nations such as the GRCS, Esgonia and Nornsmark rumoured to have deployed into the region in some capacity as well. As a result, tensions between parties have skyrocketed, with such a volume of opposing foreign military infrastructure in the region. Prime Minister Ethan Pratus has made it known that he is "incredibly suspicious, but strategically unconcerned" in regards to Urran's deployments, saying the same for the likes of the Dominion. Furthermore, heated, impassioned discussions have been taking place within the United Nations, and a draft for an act to de-escalate Vale tensions by barring foreign deployments has been brought to a vote. The GK's delegation has vehemently argued in favour of the act, and has reportedly committed to an "aye" vote. Critics suppose that the GK's motives in supporting this act are solely to bar the sweeping majority of the en route Urranese deployment from reaching its destination.

We've since been updated on the specifics of the Great Kingdom's military deployments and movements in the Vale region. Before anything, two Army on AP rotation in Donnerland, the 16th Freyham Infantry Brigade and the 3rd Helsingia Infantry Brigade were placed on high alert and cleared for transport to a large Donnish base on the border of Krasnia, where they would be await the arrival of supporting aerial units, including the new Shelby AH-15 Falcon II attack helicopters, as well as an array of UAVs, including armed UAVs such as Pax Edenica System's AUC-9 and AUC-17. The GK is right to be concerned about the strategic importance of the Vale Gap, we absolutely cannot concede that place to a potential hostile. However, I think the deployment itself was a mistake, probably opened a bad can of worms that led to all these other nations deploying there as well, making the situation worse. The Donnish are perfectly capable of achieving the AP's objective on their own, frankly.

Urran To Defy UN Order on Vale

Oita- The Urranese government has announced its intentions to a defy a United Nations order on placing foreign troops in the Saruhk Vale region between Donnerland, Vanqueria, and the UoAE.

In a press conference earlier today Secretary of State Noriyuki Miyake said that Urran "cannot abide" by the recent UN resolution, which would prevent nations sharing no borders with the Vale from placing soldiers within those countries, save for those already there. Miyake cited political treaties with Donnerland as legal precedent against obeying the order, saying that Urran was obligated to assist Donnerland via military force.

Minister of Defense Li Zhou later said that the presence of Urranese troops was "vital" to preventing future conflict in the region, saying that the presence of foreign troops and risk of war could be used to force settlement in ongoing peace talks in the UoAE, or, failing that, be used to mitigate casualties and reduce the length of conflict within the region. Minister Zhou cited a Donnish assessment that Urranese military involvement in the region could reduce the length of one to two months and coalition casualties by up to five percent.

The MoD announced its intention to deploy the 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit to Krasnia within the coming weeks. The force will be comprised of 2,300 Marines, including 1,100 infantry, 15 light armored vehicles, 20 amphibious assault vehicles, a battery of artillery pieces, a battery of high mobility artillery rocket systems,10 AH-64E attack helicopters, 3 UH-225 utility helicopters, 12 MV-22 tiltrotor transports, 5 CH-53 heavy transport helicopters, and 12 F-201 VTOL fighter jets.

Tensions in the region remind high on all sides as peace talks seem to be failing, despite the new Urranese administration changing the nation's stance on ongoing events.

The situation is noteworthy as it places Urran on the same side with the Great Kingdom, a nation that is in a semi-cold war with Urran. Both nations have agreed to keep their forces as far apart as possible and to communicate all movements and intentions with one another to avoid a repeat of an incident in the Federation that resulted in a several hours long standoff between Urranese and GK troops. Both nations have also agreed to aid the other should they come under attack if conflict should break out.

You may or may not remember the official release annoucement of FLUX Inc's Holospec II in late 2019, though chances are that you don't remember it, given the heap of tech releases we've been bombarded with in recent months. Holospec II was FLUX Inc's pitch of functional, streamlined augmented reality to the corporate world. Since augmented reality and virtual reality sets have become a fixation among the GK population, FLUX Inc had it in mind to adapt the technology for things other than casual fun. It presented a plethora of upgrades and new features differentiating it from the original Holospec. General Kaleb Wach convicted of Orchestration of Mass Conspiracy

General Kaleb Wach was the last of the overseer council to finish their trial this previous Sunday. Following the conviction of his compatriots of High Treason to the Anowan People, taking bribes, and blackmail most notably, the Former General's trial was kept separate officially cited as reasons pertaining to national security. Whatever the reason, the revelation of the reason behind his conviction came as a shock to the world. Documents retrieved and observed by the most recent Overseer, Sergeant Major Augustus Konig, (Reportedly found in tax records from 1952-1958 from the Anowan embassy in Palm-Storm) and reported to SPECTRS leadership, were what lead Anowan military leadership to organize and take action in a coup.

In 1997, the Kubatian Insurrection started in earnest. While previous protests had been peaceful and purely vocal, armed assaults on military bases and the imposing of martial law very quickly escalated to full blown armed conflict. It seems however, that the start of the Kubatian Insurrection was much shadier than previously thought. According to official records (which were not publicly available until 2017), A total of 14 members of the MoD's Army Infiltration (AI) division were present in Kubati in 1997, they were declared MIA after a 'reconnaissance' operation less than a month after the Insurrection had started. Their actions prior to their going MIA was only recently revealed. Those 14 individuals were the ones who fired the first shots at Tsavo AFB, under order from General Wach, and four other Overseers who were not taken into Donnish custody. Sparking an Insurrection which lead to over one hundred thousand deaths, over a million displaced, and an estimated 1.5 million unexploded munitions lodged in the jungles, swamps, and plains of Kubati.

These 14 individuals, after firing upon Anowan troops in an effort to start an insurrection, were later tasked with adding further heat to the fire with arming radical dissidents. Initially with Anowan arms, and subsequently, with Great Kingdom produced munitions. Further details of the operation and orders given to the AI personnel indicated they were to wear unmarked uniforms of Great Kingdom manufacture and design, and speak in Edenic at all times, very obviously to implicate GK involvement if they were to be caught or witnessed by outside parties. While the remainder of their standing orders have been lost to history, no doubt due to efforts to cover their tracks, the 14 individuals went missing somewhere to the south of Hafthor's Drift, and remain missing to this day.

While this is the only piece of information regarding Wach's verdict, and sentencing to death by bludgeoning, it suspected that the remainder of the evidence point to Anowan WMD development and the long controversial Olympian Program. Regardless, the executions of all Overseer council members are expected to take place in a week's time.

The Great Kingdom's two biggest music labels, Grand Atlantica Records and AMM West have simultaneously announced several huge signings of new-wave producers.

According to the Astralon Times, Grand Atlantica Records have signed producers 99 DΔL (Dalton Lee) & Offworld (Kane Bayless). Both producers, building off of explosive entrances into the very top of the industry in early 2019, have become household names in the Great Kingdom and abroad, often being cited as prime examples of the new wave of producer talent coming out of the GK. The signings come after the two producers went through meteoric rises unseen since the emergence of Banter Prime in 2010. 99 DΔL swept the 10th Annual Contemporary Music Awards, being nominated for a whopping 6 CMAs and taking home 3, including wave record of the year with his breakthrough hit, Y2K. Offworld, being the producer behind several rap and remix top 10 hits over the last year, has already been nominated for 3 CMAs in the 11th Contemporary Music Awards.

Grand Atlantica Records issued a statement about the signings, expressing their content with the deals and outlining their goals for the future of mainstream music. Hoping to pioneer the new wave fully into the mainstream, Grand Atlantica stated that they would be looking to pair 99 DΔL and Offworld as a production duo in order to combine 99 DΔL's witch house style with Offworld's more traditional trap style, a pairing which they project can change the GK pop and rap scenes forever.

Two weeks ago today, 99 DΔL and Offworld were main acts in a lineup of new-wave artists at the Futura Sphere in Suthbridge (the most expensive venue in the GK), where the former artist debuted a #2 hit in his remix of Rockstar, while the latter artist debuted a #3 hit with his remix of Roses. The Futura Sphere event garnered record streaming numbers on Flide Live, and helped the two artists edge out well-connected, seasoned industry artists. While we surmise that these signings have been in the works for a while, the Futura Sphere event made it clear that the youth is definitively behind the new-wave, and hastened the signings as a result.

While Grand Atlantica focuses on adapting the witch house a new trap style to pop and rap, other major labels, including AMM West, have indicated their interest in bringing the new-wave genres directly to the mainstream, in their purest forms rather than adaptations. As such, they have signed a plethora of witch house and wave trap producers, most notably MarZ (Martin Zamora) and Nitro (Maxwell Lysander). MarZ and Nitro, who have been producing witch house and wave trap for years, have recently seen a spike in numbers as the mainstream populace caught onto their genres, much like other artists in their line of music. Nowadays, their music is regularly featured in the All-Atlantican Top 100 Charts, with the two having a recent history of top 10 and top 5 hits on localised EDM charts.

MarZ and Nitro are both extremely well respected names in the new-wave community, having been inspired from the earliest pioneers of witch house and wave trap. MarZ is known for his hard-style witch-trap productions, emulating the earliest names in the genre, with his highest grossing record being 2019 #7 hit, Wasted. Nitro is better for his properly house oriented music, and his moody blends of future house and witch house, producing some of the most prolific club hits of the last few years. Nitro currently holds the #1 spot on the All-Atlantican Top 100 Charts, with his explosive future house hit Crazy having earned him CMA nominations for record of the year and EDM record of the year.

AMM West have stated that they intend for their newly signed producers to set the terms for their operations under the label, not wanting to drastically change the lives or environment of their producers unless specifically requested. Label director Drake Olsson stated that AMM West could be everything from a comprehensive support system to a platform at which the producers could use for nothing more than to promote their music, and that it would be entirely up to the individual in regards to how much they want the label involved. What would be a guarantee in all cases, though, is that AMM West would be using its vast social network to promote their new signings.

In other important news regarding new-wave music, drill group MZK have won a vicious year-long legal battle against ultra-conservative members of parliament and the Royal Communications Agency over the clandestine censorship of their music on platforms such as VisioTube, Flide Live, streaming services like Ampify, and even the short-video sharing app, Clockwork. The controversy started after the group had their then chart-topping hit Mafia Movement removed from all aforementioned platforms without valid legal precedent, an issue which has hindered drill artists for nearly a decade.

Explosion Reported in Gilionian Captial

Jersala, Gilionia – Earlier today an explosion was reported outside the Gilionian Legislature in Jersala, Gilionia. This terror attack happens as the two caucuses discuss separate bills requiring reparations be paid from the former Gileanians to the former Sicilonians and vice versa. These bills, one being written in the Gileanian Caucus, and the other in the Sicilonian Caucus, are being made to cover the violence of the last several hundred years between these two former enemies. No one was killed and 5 people have been wounded, all except one are stable and on their way to recovery.

Initial reports point toward a Gileanian separatist group that had split from Gilanae Publica Exercitus when they reformed from terror tactics to legitimate political party. These separatists have launched attacks against Sicilonians and Gilionian government officials and sites. This would be their most high profile attack to date.

On social media, former Gul of the Gilionian Province, Lars Virius Dukatus, got into hot water after this attack. He said:
“The Gileanian people, if you can call them that, are only good for three things: manual labor, bed sharing, and dying. They have proven as much in this most recent attack. Left to their own devices, they have shown that they cannot self-govern. They will attack themselves and their neighbors, the Sicilonian, who are of superior Roman stock.”

Dukatus was fired recently from the military for making similar statements about the new Gilionian nation. He was also very critical on social media of the new Roman government. During his tenure as Gul, or military governor, of the Gilionian Province, he did not step food on the mainland, but took up residence on an oil rig named Terok Nor, formerly owned by the Caesarium based oil company Obsidian Order Mining Firm. While on this station, he had Gileanians brought in as workers on the rig. There are also rumors that he had Gileanian women brough on as consorts, but these were never substantiated.

The Roman government has not yet made a statement on the attacks, but an official close with the matter has stated that Caesar Celsus has been in touch with President Aper of Gilionia.

Roman Government Announces Decoupling from Arktic

Evergreen City, Arktic – The Roman Embassy in the Arktic capital announced today that the RPR government has decided to begin moving away from Arktic. This starts with removal of Roman Space Agency personnel from the joint Roman/Arktic space center. The RSA will also have the Arktic personnel leave from the joint space center in the RPR.

The RPR will also begin to end trade with Arktic, while other sources for any resources will be found. Initial predictions point toward the GRCS or the GK, who relations have recently gotten better.

The Roman Ambassador to Arktic did not mention whether the Embassy would be closed, but he did say that the consulates will. The RPR will probably keep the Embassy as it will allow for easier communication with the leaders of Arktic.

The reason given for this sudden change in Roman relations was due to the treatment of the Arktic citizens by the government. The NIR treated their citizens similarly, so that regime was willing to overlook these human rights abuses. However, with the massive reforms and the fall of the NIR, the RPR is no longer willing to stand by while citizens are disappeared and abused by the government. Though the RPR stopped short of a condemnation, experts think one will be coming down the line.

On the 6th of July, 2020, broadcast live over national and regional television, the ATLAS-1 rocket underwent its initial launch sequence after a 3 hour delay due to weather and successfully reached its sub orbital peak and promptly turned over, leading it on a course that landed it in the waters of the Emerald Sea were it was then recovered be elements of the PRN Carrier Emerald Sea and her task group. While dated, the rocket's successful flight demonstrated the RSA's ability to plan, prepare, and execute launches in a safe manner.

While the Home office has yet to give an official report to the people, the Crown Princess is quoted to have said "The ATLAS rocket, while old and dated, was converted, prepared, launched and ultimately successful with little help from outside organizations, proving the RSA's commitment to Parcia's first step in to space exploration."

Scandal in Wake of Raid on PSL Headquarters
Hazardous Materials Successfully Recovered, Summary Executions Caught on Leaked Footage

The National Congress was seized with uproar in the wake of previous congratulations for the military and security forces after the successful raid against the PSL's headquarters, located in the mountains of the Artalia Region. The successful recover of toxic and radioactive waste, suspected to be destined for use in a "dirty bomb" has been overshadowed by the leaking of footage showing the aftermath of the raid.

In the video, apparently from a helmet mounted camera, publicly released by an unknown source and currently believed to be authentic based upon forensic analysis, captured and restrained members of PSL are shown being shot execution style by uniformed but unmarked personnel, the images seeming to be captured by an onlooker. Objections to the actions are heard in the audio, but none appeared to have intervened. Analysts have determined the uniforms to be inconsistent with those used or in use by the Forces Armées de la Fédération. Speculation has already laid blame at the feet of the Agence de Sécurité Centrale, which denies these allegations.

The identity of the filmer has been kept confidential, but military and security sources indicate the leak occurred after the footage had been moved into the custody of other authorities after debriefing, indicating the person shall go uncharged.

The FAF has announced it will cooperate with the Federal investigation in any way possible. The ASC has so insisted the investigation be handled by the Unité d'Enquête Spéciale, stated to have been uninvolved in the raid itself, having performed only an investigative role. Members of the National Congress have countered, demanding an independent inquiry be held instead.

Political commentators believe the scandal may have wide reaching effects in the upcoming Congressional elections. The Federal Party's ruling majority, already on shaky ground after the theft of the materials, may collapse in the wake of this scandal.

More Arrests in Hanajima Scandal As WMD Info Leaks

Oita- The Federal Investigative and Federal Security Bureaus (FIB/FSB) raided the homes of prominent Hanajima cabinet members on the charges of corruption and treason early this morning.

The agencies issued a joint statement saying that the homes of the former Minister of Defense and Minister for Foreign Affairs were among those targeted and that more arrests could be forthcoming. An FSB spokesperson told reporters that it has information that Hanajima and her cabinet members may have conspired to have Urranese biological weapons shipped out of the country ahead of a UN mandate banning the weapons.

This comes after former PM Saki Hanajima was arrested on charges of corruption for attempting to fix a lease on Urranese controlled oil fields to Vanqueria. It has been confirmed that Hanajima was involved in a love affair with Vanquerian leader Autarch Scott and may have used her position to give unfair trade advantages to Dominion firms and even gather intelligence on Dominion enemies.

FIB Director Lili Hu said in a press conference at Parliament Hill earlier today that the arrests were made based on documents tying the former cabinet members to a Vanquerian state owned oil company that indicate the cabinet members took bribes at the direction of the former PM. Director Hu also said that there is mounting evidence that the Hanajima administration moved a stockpile of Urranese biological weapons from Urranese controlled territory to another country without the consent of a military council, which violates the Foreign
Intelligence Act and amounts to treason.

Prime Minister Uchimura Kanzo promised to bring "the complete might" of the federal law enforcement and intelligence services to bare against what he has called "disturbing and disgraceful corruption".

This has sparked fears throughout the nation that the scandal could go much farther than just the executive branch of government and may permeate much of the federal system.

Hanajima belonged to the Urran First Party, the same as current Prime Minister, Uchimura Kanzo. Urran First Party Chief Executive Hikari Fujioka was quick to denounce the Hanajima faction, calling on the FIB and FSB to enact "swift justice" on "any and all" corrupt officials.

A recent survey conducted by the School for Political Studies (SPS) at Oita University found that support for Hanajima and her faction was hovering at 10% among voters and 12% among Urran First Party MPs, many of whom were vocal critics of Hanajima, towards the end of her administration. The Hanajima faction was called by SPS Dean Hiro Suzuki "a very despised minority at the end of it all".

Prime Minister Kanzo Announces Sweeping Changes to WMD Program

Oita- Prime Minister Uchimura Kanzo held a press briefing earlier today in which he announced that his administration would begin sweeping changes to the Urranese weapons of mass destruction (WMD) program.

PM Kanzo pledged that the current administration and MoD would begin the destruction of all of the countries short and medium range ballistic missiles, effectively halving the nation's WMD delivery systems. This comes after the PM signed an agreement with the Great Kingdom to pull said weapons completely from its territories in Sishai.

Urran's WMD program has been shrouded in secrecy for many years, however, alleged use of chemical weapons brought the issue to the forefront both domestically and internationally. Until recently, the MoD has only officially confirmed its stockpile of 1,200 nuclear warheads, though it seems this is beginning to change.

PM Kanzo has thrown out the previous status quo by confirming that Urran has maintained a large stockpile of chemical and biological weapons as well. The PM went on to say that it has divested its entire stash of bio weapons to "a certain country" for destruction and concluded with a statement asking for the UN and "any concerned nations" to send inspectors to Urran to witness and confirm the destruction of its ballistic missiles and chemical weapons stockpiles.

The PM left the stage without comment to the press. The MoD released a press statement confirming the decision to destroy the missiles and WMDs.

Members of Parliament voiced concerns over the matter. MP Yoshio Chujo, chairman of the Armed Forces Committee, questioned the decision, saying that it could put Urran at material disadvantage in any future conflict.

By contrast, MP Hana Kamui, chairwoman of the House Budget Committee, welcomed the change, saying that the money saved from not maintaining the arsenal could be spent on other defense programs, notably coastal defense.

Parliament is expected to confirm the decision within the coming days.

PARNATOS, Marasalia - Demonstrations against President Santos on Sunday turned violent in Parnatos, with reports of riots and looting across the city in the aftermath of allegations that President Santos used "purchased ballots", or sold pre-made ballots to voters in "not insignificant numbers" to win his election in 2017. Santos has since denied those allegations, but demonstrations taking place across the country have called for him to step down just two and a half years into his Presidential term.

On September 4th, Barcaju International News reported that President Santos had bought upwards of "550,000 ballots" for election, by sending campaign aids to high-volume areas with pre-filled paper ballots and paying voters to place those ballots as opposed to the ballots provided by the polling station. Anti-Santos demonstrations began on the 8th after Prime Minister Da Costa was blindsighted by questions about the allegations on national television, with critics taking to the streets "nearly immediately", said Parnatos City Police.

Demonstrations erupted into riots after the City of Parnatos declared otherwise peaceful protests to be "unlawful" after a robbery, to which demonstrators claimed was unrelated, occurred at a local cafe.

While the entire nation has taken precautionary measures to compensate for the impending storm, some areas have had to take more steps than others. All of South Eden (the provinces of Greater Edenguard, Greater Golden Bay, Avon, Bluewell, Exton, Freyham, and Camford) has been placed under a Red-2 warning, incurring mandatory curfews, school and business closures, event cancellations, and transport closure for tens of millions of people. Surge barriers have been prepared to the greatest extent possible, lining surge hotspots along coastal cities and reinforcing barriers placed along the Freehold Lakes. The millions of inhabitants high rise flats, especially those with extraordinary height like the Infinitas Complex and Grand Eden Complex, have been largely forced to evacuate locally to the communal lower levels of their buildings or to a shelter elsewhere. Although the vast majority of the buildings evacuated have met the government standard on severe weather durability, and their inhabitants could theoretically ride the storm out safely in their flat, the Red-2 Warning incurs an override, forcing the evacuation of buildings over a certain height as an extra safety precaution. Disaster relief and medical services are active and preparing for the worst in South Eden, as the Red-2 areas are expected to receive an abundance of rain, moderate to severe flooding, strong winds, and threat from storm surges.

Meanwhile, the middle and north Edenic provinces have all been placed under a less radical Yellow-2 warning, incurring a mandatory curfew and school cancellations. There have been no stated transport closures, though passengers are warned to prepare for the possibility of delays on the road, on the rail, and in the air, should extenuating circumstances arise. Additionally, no evacuations, provincially or locally, have been ordered, even from high rise buildings. As Hurricane Ariana is only expected to graze middle and north Eden, the projections here are a lot less worrisome. These areas are expected to receive heavy rain and moderate winds with a possibility for minor flooding. Disaster relief and medical assets from middle and northern provinces have been prepared to dispatch to the south for relief aid. No Artalian province, save for Allershire (Yellow-2) has been placed under any sort of warning, so business is continuing as usual, with a projection for moderate rain and occasional wind gusts. Disaster relief and medical services in Artalia have also been made ready to dispatch to south Eden to aid in the inevitable relief effort.

The Royal Air Force has been undertaking an airframe evacuation and protection plan on a scale unseen since Hurricane Ellen in 1981. Involving 8 major airbases, airframes of all shapes and sizes have been scattered across the country or moved into hangars. The Royal Air Force confirmed that it has relocated all (well over a dozen) of Exley LB-3A strategic bombers to middle and northern air bases. Despite this, both the Royal Air Force and Royal Strategic Command refused to confirm or deny the presence of nuclear weapons and the configurations of the evacuated bombers. Other notably sensitive airframes, such as the Kingdom Aerospace FA-23 Accentor II and IAe FM-32 Aquila, have also been relocated to middle and northern airbases. Meanwhile, Pax Edenica FA-12 Bateleurs, FA-14 King Vultures, as well as drone systems such as AUC-9s and AUC-17s have been moved into hangars within the affected airbases to ride out the storm. The affected airbases have also taken independent surge and flood protection measures with a focus in barring off the flow of water from low-lying parts.

It is expected that the Royal Air Force will want to move the aforementioned sensitive airframes back into position as soon as possible after the Hurricane, with affected airbases expected to make a quick clean-up with aid from both civil and military relief services. Despite this, the return to home is expected to be much slower than the evacuation outward, due to the astronomical flight cost uptick recorded as so many expensive airframes complete distant flights in a short amount of time. The likely scenario is that we will see the bombers return to their bases first, followed by a slow but steady stream of the evacuated 5th generation aircraft returning as well. In any case, the Royal Air Force will have to make continuous compromises throughout the year to complete the movement in its entirety, likely delaying routinely planned domestic and foreign rotations.

Although out-of-province evacuations were not required for anybody, even those under a Red-2 Warning, millions upon millions of Edenics took it upon themselves to leave their homes for secondary, temporary, or family lodgings in middle and north Eden or in Artalia. With cancellations and operational closures largely in place days ahead of the projected landfall dates, many Edenics reportedly did not see a point in staying where the risk of injury or deprivation was higher. Patrick Morris, a low-level manager at Jackson Heavy Industries, was quoted saying that the Red-2 Warning ought to be moved to Red-1 to force evacuation and make things easier for disaster relief servies. As such, there occurred a massive uptick in air, rail, and road traffic occurred, with millions of passengers and drivers northbound from south Eden in a very short amount of time. With Edenic transport services universally projected to operate at a loss for the days of the Hurricane, the uptick may have provided some padding to mitigate the effects of the inevitable losses.

By now, the transport closures in south Eden are in complete effect, with airports and rail stations closed down, and roads blocked off with flood protection measures. It has proven shocking for the Great Kingdom's newest and most mobile young generation, which is experiencing a storm of this magnitude for the first time in their lives. Those who elected to not leave their provinces and simply follow the Red-2 guidelines have been reportedly keeping in constant contact with their friends and families via social media sites like Flide and The Coffee Shop. With screentime skyrocketing, it seems that most of south Eden is turning to their electronics to remain informed and entertained during the lockdown.

Saito: Good afternoon Honorable Minister, thank you very much for agreeing to this interview. *bows*

Kanzo: The honor is mine Mr. Saito.

Saito: Thank you, Sir. I hope you will not find it imprudent if we skip right to the questions.

Kanzo: Please, my statement was no formality. I am most pleased to have been invited to this interview. I ask you to continue.

Saito: Thank you, Sir. Firstly, let me preface by saying that your decision to reveal and then greatly alter the WMD program has been met with much controversy. Some praise the candidness of your administration. However, others have criticized your judgement of the issue and called the decision rash. I would like to know your personal opinion of the situation if I may.

Kanzo *considers for a moment*: Of course, you may. Let me start by saying that the previous administration thrived on discord and took great strides to keep things hidden in shadows. Firstly, I thought that the Urranese people had the right to know that their government had been lying to them and breaking UN law. Urran can no longer play Maverick. If word had gotten out to the UN that we were purposefully breaking international law, there would be dire consequences for our economy and perhaps the homeland. Secondly, I find such weapons, particularly bio weapons, o be morally reprehensible. No nation that calls itself a bastion of morality may possess such things in their inventory unless it is to research cures, which Urran is doing and will continue to do. I cannot give you specifics I am afraid, though I can tell you that we are quite good at it.

Saito: If I may be so bold Honorable Minister, your critics have called that stance into question.

Kanzo: Please, go ahead.

Saito: Critics have said that the defense of the nation will always lead one into morally grey territory. Any leader that cannot handle the strain of that will be considered weak. What would you say to those critics?

Kanzo *inhales*: I would say that they should not mistake prudence for weakness. Firstly, on the moral issue, bio weapons are weapons of terror. Some are merely meant to incapacitate, that is true, but most are meant to kill as many people as quickly as possible. They can also be used to kill livestock and crops. No matter how you look at it, they are meant to cause serious damage to troops and civilians alike. These agents know no lines between soldiers and civilians. Urran cannot hold the moral high ground and the world's population to ransom at the same time.

Secondly, there is a practical way to look at it. Once an agent gets out, it would be impossible to contain. No matter where it is used, it will run its course and will inevitably find its way back to Urran, or so my experts have told me and they are experts by the way. The best Urran has to offer. We cannot run the risk of infecting Urran by using a such a weapon, not to mention the havoc it would cause if one escaped. I considered both of these points when I made my decision.

Saito: I see. What can you tell me about the nation that disposed of the weapons?

Kanzo: The contract former Prime Minister Hanjima was clear, we are not to release that information. It could cause serious harm to international relations and global security. I am afraid that is classified.

Saito: Yes, Sir. What would you say to those that claim this action will undermine our national security?

Kanzo: Of course. I have already touched on the bio weapons issue. We are,in fact, more secure without them. As for the other two, chemical weapons are now banned by the UN and we caught enough flak for using nonlethal chemical agents in combat. Can you image the fallout if we had used Sarin or VX, which we have large stockpiles of by the way? No, this transparency is good for Urran. Our reputation in the international community is damaged. We have been dishonored, lost face, through use of deceit and half truths. I am hopeful that this action will help mend those wounds and convince any nation still skeptical of my administration that we are the sort of people that they can do business with.

As for the nuclear issue, GK and Anowa are moving towards decreasing their stockpiles, though we are still uncertain of Anowa's new order. At any rate, we are one of the world's premier nuclear powers. This will not only help ease tensions with GK, but may also help convince other nations to follow suit. A world with fewer nuclear weapons is safer of course, not to mention that it is more cost efficient. Maintaining so many different delivery platforms sucks up funding that is better spent elsewhere. I am in talks now with the MoD tosee which delivery systems can be fully cut. We have already decided to scrap all short range ballistic missiles completely.

Saito: It appears we are almost out of time, may I ask one more question before we go?

Kanzo: Please, it would be my pleasure. *bows*

Saito: Things have warmed with GK since you took office, will you be changing our official stance?

Kanzo: Such a complex subject! As you said, we are short on time. I will be brief. I am willing to enter to talks to normalize relations with most nations, though GK is still a direct competitor and they do not seem willing to back down on several fronts. I will not risk our national security or global standing with regards to economic or military power. If GK wishes to negotiate, we shall see where that path leads if we ever come to it. For now, it is important to try to continue to check them as they try to spread within our sphere.

Saito: I do wish we had more time to ask question Honorable Minister, but I had best be going. I most humbly thank you for your time *stands and bows*

General of the Army: President Santos, Step down NOW; Parliament announces Impeachment proceedings

Demonstrators from across the country descend on Parliament

PARNATOS, Marasalia - The Marasalian Army has officially demanded that Zeferino Santos, 43rd President of Marasalia, stepped down in light of allegation of nearly 700,000 votes obtained by paid ballots to win the 2017 Presidential Election. Santos, previously regarded as "The Great Unifier", did what many considered to be impossible, and won the 2017 election outright in the first round of voting, a feat that even the most popular Presidents in history had not accomplished.

Allegations surfaced in late August that Santos and his campaign purchased around 685,000 ballots, using an the most well financed campaign in Marasalian history. The campaign created "official" ballots, uniformed by Federal Standards, pre-filled in with candidates of the Freedom Party for Federal, State, and Local elections. They then canvassed potential non-voters, and sold them ballots for R₡1500, spending over R₡1bn on ballots.

Several people came forward after the articles release, explaining their story of how they had gotten their votes purchased. The Santos campaigned intentionally canvassed "poor" areas, where campaign officials offered the ballots while "surrounded by armed guards", causing some to take the ballots despite not wanting to vote for Santos. Though there was not an enforcement arm which could prevent the ballots from being used, it was a violation of Federal law to use "force" to coerce votes. Though vote-buying is generally considered immoral, it was not explicitly violated by campaign finance laws, experts told us.

Supporters of President Santos claim that "even if the story were true", the President has been largely successful, maintaining the longest peacetime economic expansion in history and creating a plan to expand the Marasalian military shows that Santos is putting the nation first, above personal political gain. Demonstrators, however, have responded by declaring Santos a "dictator wannabe", and in violation of the Spirit of Marasalia.

Prime Minister Jovita Da Costa has announced that the Parliament intends to impeach Santos, a move to which some say isn't far enough, arguing that the Vice President was also in on the voting scheme and the entire cabinet was appointed by an illegitimate President. The Republic's Congress, with a coalition of the Freedom Party and Republic party, has decried such proceedings, taking sides with the demonstrators and saying the "entire administration" has to go, and that a targeted impeachment would drag out the damage that Santos could do to Marasalia's democracy in response. When the Army announced earlier Saturday that they were in support of the People and demanded that Santos step down, Congressmen and women took over impeachment inquiries by shouting "Drag Him Out!", a chant which has begun to be used by demonstrators across the country.

By and large, the country has rejected President Santos, his approval rating in polls dropping to a measly 10%, a feat that also has never been accomplished in Marasalian history. This has led to the possibiliy of a "popular coup", where the Army takes Santos down with popular support of the Army. This power is provided to the Army via the constitution, but a coup could lead to a bloody conclusion to a president who no longer holds a popular mandate.

BREAKING:Navy: A Mutiny has occured aboard the MNS Caba

Marasalia - The Marasalian Navy has declared the MNS Caba, a Duraca-class Nuclear powered Guided Missile Cruiser, to have fallen victim to a mutiny Tuesday overnight, per an announcement and emergency declaration filed early this morning, PNN has learned. The declaration, intended to be an emergency alert to allies in the area, states that the Caba fell radio-silent suddenly at 21:15, prompting the MNS Zeferino O. Vilar, a Rolando O. Martins-class Guided Missile Destroyer, to investigate. When the destroyer attempted to use emergency flash signals to contact the crew of the Caba, the Caba fired a round from its gun near the ship, then set sail to the Northeast, towards the Marasalian Great Canal. Both ships make part of the 1st Fleet, and are operated under the command of Vice Admiral Evaristo Luciano, who's office was not available for comment this morning.

The Navy has warned allied warships to "approach with caution" with the cruiser, stating that the cruiser's interim leadership may be volatile. It is currently unknown what reason the mutiny occurred, or if they have any specific demands.

We are currently receiving unconfirmed reports that the Caba has fired on Fort Edvaldo from the Marasalian Great Canal. We are investigating the reports at this time.
