Approached by the strange men didn't make her coil especially considering he introduced himself in a friendly manner noting they were both carrying.

"I wouldn't call it paranoia so much as cautious. Good to meet you, sir, Ji-yun." She introduced herself back. No mention she was a bodyguard, wasn't important. "Also here to see the sights. I'm waiting on my traveling buddy that I'm here with, we're just about to go eat ourselves."

Hyeon-Mi returned in a short bit "Oh hello." She said to him.

"And here she is now." Ji-Yun smiled "All set?" she asked Hyeon-Mi

"Yes I am."

"Well, sir, I hear tables go up fast next door, but maybe we could join you? A couple bumpkin tourists like ourselves surely won't cause you too much trouble. Fellow carriers after all. If you don't mind, Hyeon,"

"No I don't mind."

Letizia nodded and accepted the invite from these new acquaintances "Oh yes, thank you for the invitation. Lunch with fellow tourists does not seem so bad. It can't be as bad as travel food." Following the pair into the restaurant, a question popped in her head "What's a 'bumpkin'?"

"Hey miss, I see I'm not the only paranoid one here. Baretta 92. I'm Felipe, but English speakers call me Felix. And this is my sister Letizia."

I turned around, and my heart skipped a beat. I had nothing to reasonably fear, of course, but...something still caused me to freeze up.

I turned around, slowly, and took a few deep breaths to calm myself.
"Good day." I replied, my hand going to my M1911. "Felix who? And who do you work for?"

He noticed her hand on her gun, and took her questions to be of a suspicious nature "Whoa, slow down there Blondie." he crossed his arms so his hands appeared as far away from his gun as reasonably possible "Felipe Armando Delmonte i Ferrer. I work for McDonald's. I'm kidding, I'm an officer of the Civil Guard. And you miss?"

AHSCA wrote:"Well as a matter of fact, I'd like to go to the Aurora Theater. They have a few good shows on today and their prices are really discounted for the festival. What do you say, want to see a play or two with me?" She stood and offered her hand to Tess to pull her to her feet so they could go for a walk down to the little theater.

"Oooh a play!" Hiromi chimed "Now that's a great date for you two. Go for it, Miss Tess they have lots of great shows going on now and a brand new one they just opened. Go see it!"

Tsubaki

"Hehe she's done very well. Kikiyo, why not go get some milk to drink, okay? You've done very well all morning"

"Sure mama." The little girl dashed along back. "Very good Lt. Col. Eduard De la Merchant all the way from Mervay." She wrote down his name in lovely script.

"And a sword is fine. Many of us have them even my husband and I. Please come along then and I'll show you to your room." she grabbed an unlit lantern, obviously they wouldn't need it now but it would be ready for him by nightfall. She took him down a hall. A couple young boys ran on past "Easy does it, boys, mind the guests here."

"Sorry, ma"

"Sorry mama."

"My sons." She chuckled as she lead him all the way to the end of the hall, She slid open the door for him "Here you are. Have you ever been to the islands before sir? Things are going to be quite different than most places but I assure we offer good services here and good conditions. You'll find this a most pleasant place to be."

The theater. That sounded like a fantastic idea, considering last time they went at one was back when she was in Mervay during christmas of last year so it was a nice change for sure. As such as soon as Satou offered her hand, Tess took it gladly and got up in her feet, kissing her wife in the process.

"You know well I would love to sweetie." She said grinning warmly at Satou before taking out her wallet while hearing Hiromi's comments, giggling at her reaction.

"Well can't say no to an very nice theater play." She told her while leaving out the money for the food they both ate plus Tsubasa's slice and a nice tip.

"Thank you for the pie Hiromi, it was delicious..." And as such she excused herself to then look at wife with a warm smile. "Well let's go to the theater, we need to get some nice seats or get there before the tickets run out."

Then that meant there won't be trouble with it, that saved him a lot of concerns since he wasn't sure if they would allow it.

"That saves me a lot of trouble Ma'am." The soldier smiled with relief about it before nodding and following her, considering that it was still early in the day it surprised him the lantern, but then nightfall would come off so... Yeah. There's a point there.

As they travelled across the hall, they ran across a couple of kids which he found out they were her kids thanks to her saying it and how she spoke with them; it was indeed a family business.

"Guess everyone works in this family business." Eduard smiled while letting a beat pass. "I believe they're busy with the festivities right?" He asked before they got to his room.

It was cozy and nice from what he saw as soon as the door was opened. Nice place for sure. Eduard turned to look at the woman as soon as he settled in his baggage.

"Yes, my first time here ma'am so I'm still trying to familiarize to the envirioment." He told her with a grin. "Ohh I can be sure that I will be attended with the best care, they told me you people were very warm and friendly so for sure so I can know well I will be offered a great service." The soldier said while taking some credits to pay for his stay and a tip.

"Here it is all the money for the next four days plus a tip because the good service, hope you don't mind."

(A Solidarity Medal was the highest honor that the Shiatoruan government could bestow on a foreigner.) "...I mean, that'll probably be at least 70% flattery to avoid an international incident on the state's part, but they really did help me so much. I only got out of that alive because of them. Tell them I said thanks, yeah?"

When she asked what she wanted to do, she took a second to think about it. She wanted to go home... but she didn't want to risk overexerting herself after that mess. She was exhausted, and still kind of sore, and probably traumatized and in need of therapy. She needed to relax. Plus, an unplanned vacation on a tropical island having a party couldn't hurt, right? "...I think I wanna stay here a few days. Where can I stay?"

The officers all had a small chuckle "Don't even worry about it. We're all on duty for a reason, to maintain peace and order during such a busy time with so many people. Important thing is, you're okay. I think we can arrange a place for you to stay, hopefully a nice Inn instead of a cot at the station. I'll drive you into town and help you out there"

"No trouble at all."

I'm not sure how it happened, but it had turned into a race.

Alice suddenly sprinted off, leaving me with little choice but to rush after her. In my fucking shoes to boot.
The two of us probably stuck out like a sore thumb as we raced through the city, skirts fluttering a little. Thank God that the wind wasn't too heavy, otherwise at least one of us would have been embarassed at some point.

Note to self; next time, remember to bring along more trousers.
As we rushed through the town, I caught up with Alice. "Oi! Lipka! Where the bloody 'ell we headed anyway!"
"There's an inn called the Kitan, just a few dozen yards from here! We'll leave our shit there!"

With that, she sped ahead, before abruptly tripping and falling hard on the pavement. I skidded to a halt and turned around to help her, and she was up quickly, but her uniform sleeve was torn and her nose very quickly began to trickle blood.

"Lipka, you alright?" I asked, looking over her wounds.
"Aye, just a scratch and a noseblood. Comeon, let's move."
"You sure?"
"I ain't an infant, Thornton." Alice grumbled. "Comeon, let's go."

With that, we went on, and soon entered the inn.

Alice's nosebleed and scrape might attract attention, but we both paid no heed to any odd looks.
Instead, we headed to the clerk, and began to check in.
"A room, two people." Alice said, before I could speak up. "How much for, say, a week's stay? And you got a tissue?"

"Rates are 1150 Credits per night, here. So a full week should run you 8050. I can get you a room right away. And here" she handed a tissue over. "There you are, shall I have Natsume show you to your room?"

The Kitan - Otulissa von Sarmaten et al

"Strange people." Hyeon-Mi giggled with Ji-yun in their native language. Well they seemed to be more content with each other than them, but then again why would anyone generally be interested in a couple of teenage girls. Still they did accept the offer to join them for a meal so oh well. Heading over next door the hostess greeted them with a bow and hello "Table for all of you? I can seat you immediately."

Any reply to Reina's well wishes was cut off by Kumiko and Yasmin returning.
The latter wore a deep-red yukata, a few accessories in her hair and a graceful smile on her lips. She moved so gracefully and wore that little smile...
I glanced over to Dad, who was as if mesmerized.
Yasmin tittered. "I think, that's a winner.", she said and looked to me. "What do you think, Aurelia?"
I nodded. "I'd think so, too. He likes it, you like it and I think you look splendid as well.", I said, "Where did you learn to move so gracefully?"
"I was my Father's Tea Maid whenever I was at home during the summer.", she said with a small, wistful smile. "Aischa taught me a few tricks."
I nodded. Aischa Alchikha was the Chief Handmaiden of the Qasrjabal, the seat of government of the Khanate of Tanin.
"She did a very good job.", Dad said lovingly, then bowed his head lightly at Kumiko. "And so did you."
Yasmin and I nodded in agreement.

I bowed my head in gratitude to Miss Iffy as well, promising myself to make it up to her, especially since I had only two brushes, one being my own toothbrush and the other being a brush for this guy, who was at the center of attention of myself and Ayla.
I smiled at her enthusiasm.
"Indeed, let's get to it!", I said and took off my t-shirt. It revealed nothing, which Ayla hadn't already seen on the beach, the same muscular upper body, no pumping, but still lean muscles and a few small scars, ready to use it all. I winked at Ayla. "My last good shirt!"

"Swimming in the ocean sounds good.", Rena said with a smile, her being an active woman, that hardly surprised me. Besides, she had the bikini under her clothes, which should be telling enough.
I smiled at her, then at Kaori and Georgie. "That sounds very nice. Do you two know any nice spots?", I asked and then leaned over slightly, as if to tell a secret: "If the spot is really nice, there's ice cream in it for you!"
Rena snorted lightly, while I winked at Kaori.

"I'm glad everyone seems to be in agreement. Oh Reina, Mamiko, what a surprise you're here. Well as long as you are, what do you think?"

"She's pretty in the red" Mamiko agreed

"I agree, it does look very nice on you. You give off a natural aura of being a native here wearing that yukata with such style."

"I thought as much too. If nothing further i'll be happy to tally you up and have you on your way to enjoy the fest of the great festival today!" Kumiko pulled out her book where she would tally up all the charges "I threw in a few accessories no extra plus I'm happy to give you a parasol. So for the yukata, shoes and socks it runs you 1735 Credits. That said I should give you the option of Geta or Zori. I personally suggest Get for you, I like that myself, keeps your feet dry in the rain and gives a little boost in height, though I think we're fine on that this time. I think you'd do great with Geta, you have the balance and grace already."

Port Kino

"Ah no matter. You know the islands are famous for natural hot pools and public baths. I know plenty around Corona here, some busy and others well...More secluded." She blushed and giggled, not that she was trying anything just figured she'd let him know if he wanted somewhere quiet. "It'll be good to have a hot soak after this."

Port Aya

"Well for swimming, there's many good beaches around just head down that way" She pointed off the harbor side where it would be pleasant to swim. "If you want somewhere fun to see, the shoal caves along the western shore there" She pointed the other direction "they're fun but be careful there during high tide. I'm not allowed there by myself. Only with mama can I go. Right, Georgie?"

"That's right and you gotta do as she says."

"I do."

"Yes, I got some excellent knives also hand crafted though not by myself, a friend of mine who is a blade smith." He pulled out a case of crafted knives and daggers "Take a look."

"As for the fishnets," Sunplena spoke up "I've got those. They're more popular with the ladies but I've seen men wear them too." She pulled out a few that were sewn and styled to various lengths and sizes. "Also have 'em in child sizes. My little one wears 'em at night to sleep. They're actually quite comfy given the nets have been treated with sap to make them smooth against your skin. "Have fun!" Hiro wished the nice couple and just as quickly Satou and Tess made a small dash down to the nearby theater. Honestly Tess had really learned the art of running in a yukata and kimono, for Satou it was never an issue she always wore one. Thankfully they still had seats left for . My husband does most of the cooking and I handle the business side of things. My boys also pitch in to make needed repairs, clean and help deliver things to our guests. That's just one example. Well your room, is it to your satisfaction, sir? I have a futon in the closet that's freshly washed and should be quite comfortable. Aurora, AHSCA
At The Port

The Sea Explorer was steadily approaching the harbor's dock, it's propulsion set on minimal speed as it navigated between other vessels that were either intending to dock or leaving the premise waters of the port's bay. As the massive superyacht came into the proximity to one of the port's docks, only this time, the Cassadians were not looking forward to a welcoming ceremony by whomever committee of important local officials and nobles that represented the authorities of this country were it to consist of. Although they were prepared for that possibility since the AHSCA's authorities were made aware who was going to attend the festival. To a certain Royal, it did not matter, as she had personally laid her hopes on not having her person be as recognizable due to the sheer distance and remoteness between her country and AHSCA.

Princess Cornelia’s long raven hair fell to her waist and was woven with a gold wire that made it softly gleam. She wore fine silk long gloves, an emerald necklace. The gown was close pleated, and blueish purple with black diamond patterns, and swayed softly around her slim and curvaceous body. Her slim feet were held in fine leather sandals that wove up her calves. Her eyebrows were penciled with kohl, her lips crimson. The Princess, at this time, was in her 29th year and had begun once again to become the center of the Court, with her return from serving as a Tomcat pilot for a brief stint of time after her training at the Royal Pilot Academy; graduating at the bottom of her class, but she did not want to take advantage of her station, to appear superior, Cornelia felt pride every time she recalled having passed on her merit, intelligence, and skills.

Her other companion was her husband, wearing a blue dress uniform, with short light brown hair, an fair white skin slightly darkened by tan, and large brown eyes. His sight often darting to the princess, as though he was overwhelmingly attentive to her. His name was Count Treize Khushrenada, an aristocrat from the icy lands south where the city of Novobirsk was located.

''O' hubby we have finally arrived! I hope you are excited as much as I am, as I can't wait to witness their strange customs.'' Giddily said the Princess as she came closer to the one who was her husband, wrapping her arms around his should as Cornelia inclined for a kiss on the lips. Khushrenada doing likewise as he pulled her into an even deeper kiss, not caring for what was happening around them.

''Your Highness! Your Grace!'' Called out an unknown figure from somewhere that turned out to be none other than the ship's captain; a short modest-looking man who was dressed in a naval officer uniform that had been phased out to be worn by the officer corp for a long time now. The yacht's captain low bow, right hand on the chest, head laid down to stare at the ground,'' excuse my untimely interruption but, The Explorer's crew have almost completed all docking protocols.'' The aging man informed them in a low, but clear tone.

The Count looked at him who then turned to his wife, smiling and then back at the captain.'' Thanks for letting us know Kalinov, we'll be there to get on solid ground shortly.'' Treize said to the captain who did nothing, other than politely excuse himself to tend to the duties of his station.

The Count and Princess proceeded to walk the deck, marching to the other side of the ship, where a ramp platform was lowered for the group to come ashore. Awaiting them were two companions who were to cater to their every need, one was a well-built tall bodyguard, Oles Honchar, dressed in a beige two-piece suit who underneath his jacket had a special webbing that accommodated an assortment of gear, from stun grenades to knives, a collapsible baton to holstering a compact submachine-gun, and a Sig Sauer pistol including several magazines to go along with each firearm. The other individual who was also party to this two-man servant/security escort, was a young pretty maid by the name of Dvachevskaya Kassadnaya, who was dressed in a long Victorian dress who unlike the bodyguard had delicate features one would say bordered on fragility; if her pristine face, thin limbs, and meek appearance were anything to go by - both were well-groomed for the occasion, and on their guard.

The two persons of note, bowed as Princess Cornelia and Count Khushrenada descended the stairs, after which they followed their lead until they finally got off the boat ready to expect anything from a significant greeting party of important local figures to no one in the most literal sense.

The two escorts accompanying the Princess and Count, maintained a distance from them, only close enough to answer any requests or callings the duo of Royal and Blue were to make, surveying their surroundings but also all the while being attentive to them.

The little tucked away inn in Kino almost would look like any building, again the only thing to mark it was the sign, which had a helpful wood sign with a pictogram of a bed and a person sleeping underneath the writing of native word for inn. The dinging bell naturally caught the attention of a young girl high atop a step latter trying to make a little patch in the ceiling that weathered away, "Oh just a seeeec" She toppled over but an older girl entered, her older sister. "Kompa? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." She popped up adjusting her oversized glasses. With the verbal response, the new arrivals were attendant to "Welcome, needing a room I take it? I can scribe you in." she pulled out a book of names getting their information "All right then. Rate is 100 a night. Upfront deposit of 350 is required, this'll be refunded upon your departure provided things are in good order and repair. Kompa, take them to their room."

Kyrksen looked at the receptionist who almost skittles herself, "slow down, there's all day yet" height says, pulling his wallet out as Sojourner eyed up the surroundings, her blue eyeball giving her left eye a more powerful glare to anyone looking at her, though some may find it off putting.

Kyrksen pulls out the room fee and the deposit and counts it out on the desk.

"So three nights plus deposit" Kyrk says as Sojourner glanced over at the receptionist "so, what is the story behind the person on the statue?" She asks

Whatever the answer to that question, Audrey would quickly get herself changed. This might be an interesting experience, she decided. This country was interesting in itself--a strange mix of the old and new. She could see it in the steamboats and wooden sailboats at the port. It was like stepping into a time portal. She had... heard of ASCHA before, but never really looked into it beyond "small underdeveloped nation"--her mistake, she'd have to do better in the future.

And then the yacht pulled up.

Your Majesty!'' Called out an unknown figure from somewhere that turned out to be none other than the ship's captain; a short modest-looking man who was dressed in a naval officer uniform that had been phased out to be worn by the officer corp for a long time now.

Awaiting them were two companions who were to cater to their every need, one was a well-built tall bodyguard in a beige two-piece suit who underneath his jacket had a special webbing that accommodated an assortment of gear, from stun grenades to knives, a collapsible baton, a compact submachine-gun, and a Sig Sauer pistol. The other of the escort party was a young pretty maid, dressed in a long Victorian dress who unlike the bodyguard had delicate features one would say bordered on fragility; if her pristine face, thin limbs and meek appearance were anything to go by.

The two persons of note, bowed as Princess Cornelia and Count Khushrenada descended the stairs, ready to expect anything from a significant greeting party of important local figures to no one in the most literal sense.

Audrey's eyes went wide as the superyacht lurched into the port. She almost thought it was some kind of military vessel at first--but no armament that she could see... no, only the bourgeois would ever think they need something like this. She felt like it was almost imperialist--it clashed with the rest of the harbor like a corporate suit at a farmer's homestead. She tried to get a view of who was coming off the ship--looked like royalty.

She sighed. "Were you... expecting those guys?"

Then she looked to me: "What do you think?"
"Geta are more difficult to move in.", I said, "I took both though..."
And the Geta are resting in my cupboard, while the Zori are even worn without my yukata. They were comfortable.
"Then I'll do the same.", Yasmin decided and reached for her purse - which wasn't, where it was supposed to be as she was dressed differently.

The two escorts accompanying the Princess and Count, maintained a distance from them, only close enough to answer any requests or callings the duo of Royal and Blue were to make, surveying their surroundings but also all the while being attentive to them.

Big ships and yachts always drew eyes. Some didn't mind, figuring oh well tourist gonna do what tourist gonna do, others had ire drawn that such bohemians would park in AHSCA's small-ish ports. I mean they could accommodate most sized ships but still most would rather they keep the luxury boats at home or stay off shore and take a ferry in. Well it didn't matter in the end, if whomever owned this large white ship filled out the needed paperwork with the UNIFRO they could come in. Police Officers running customs and enforcement were always told to put their personal feelings aside about this subject and welcome anyone with the same polite greeting.

"Welcome to the islands." They greeted. "May we see your papers please?" The usual request for passports and anything else relevant and for anyone carrying to declare their weapons to them right off the bat. They also asked to inspect any baggage they had on them and they could stamp and send them on their way.

If they're special guests that'd be unusual, Her Majesty our Duchess usually doesn't entertain many foreign guests during The Festival but I suppose there's always a first. Oh wifi huh? Most people are usually able to pick things up from the nearby military bases but I'll just tell you now, it'll be pretty spotty at best. Even worse if the weather is bad so don't really count on it. Kaori giggled a little too. These folks were nice and friendly. Like some of the folks she'd met during the festivals prior but they were a different sort, very friendly to her, especially considering it was just her and Georgie here.

"Oooh ice cream, that's great isn't it Georgie?"

"That's all a bit too cold for me so you can have mine, Kaori."

"Sure! Come with me, I'll show you where we can go get some. It's not very far, just this way." She outstretched her hand to pull them along. It wasn't far at all, just a small walk up the street some more a little place that served up food and drink, like any of the taverns along the road. And of course given Kaori was always around many of the staff certainly knew who she was. This was a place themed for it's dishes from around the islands and abroad. "They have such yummy treats here. Great ice cream too you're all gonna love it."

"Why if it isn't Kaori~" The cheery voice of a waitress bearing a little slice of cake in her hand for another customer greeted her.

"Hello, Mir!" Kaori greeted and repeated a hello as Georgie "And hello to you, Georgie. So guess you've come for something sweet but you don't have your lovely mama with you today?"

"She's at the temple because well you know."

"I see. But you have some friends along with you?"

"I just me these nice people. They've come from a far off land to see the festival. I told them some nice places to swim and see sights and they said they'd treat me to some ice cream."

"Well then go ahead and take a free table and I'll get you all something good!"

"Thank you, Mir. Yup, thank you." She said as herself and Georgie again.

Kaori picked out a free table they could all sit at she even sat Georgie up in his own chair. Admittedly it was a bit dim inside here with flaming torches still lighting the wall, but most places were. It'd look prettier in the evening with the orange glow really illuminated things but for now this lovely afternoon it was a mix of what sunlight filtered in and the flames. "So you pick something tasty too. Desert is best when you can share with someone you like. That's how my mama puts things."

Of course many of the shrines and temples around the islands had heard the rumors of a wandering stranger who played music and sung praises wherever he went. Including of the seldom mentioned Yue. Some took it a bit blasphemous but most were pretty content with him doing his thing. The Matron did take notice of him, not really certain it was this particular man but he did sort of stand out in the crowd for some reason as if he had an aura around him. The Corona garden was a bit unique too, because it also bore a statue of the Black Goddess and White Goddess together. "Good day, sir." Her name, Ambra, the High Priestess and thus Matron of the temple. She didn't bother with the usual Priestess outfit that her fellow matrons and many of her subordinates wore. She wore a bikini woven of a natural spider silk made here in the islands. She did look young and she was youthful, flowing silver hair. Amber eyes, which is what gave her name. She was a sight that was for sure. "So, a wayward Yue worshiper huh? May surprise you to know that I am Yue incarnate. Eheh, bad joke I'm only kidding. But it's unusual for a strange man from a strange place to take interest in well anything regarding our ways of worship. My fellow Matrons had informed me a man had been wandering these parts these past few years. So I finally get to meet him?"

Still they did accept the offer to join them for a meal so oh well. Heading over next door the hostess greeted them with a bow and hello "Table for all of you? I can seat you immediately."

"Oh thank you." Letizia smiled as the hostess took them in and seated them. Thanking her, she turned to the two girls, quickly thinking of what to say to make conversation before a server or something comes along "I don't think I gave you both my name, my name is Letizia, from Lux Pulchare. But you might occasionally hear me call it Bellaluz. So then, how did you two end up here? You knew about this festival?"

Dad put 2,000 on the table and didn't seem to be bothered.
"Would you mind giving me back a few coins, too?", he requested with a small smile, "We have a friend, who is a coin collector."
"Uhm, Aurelia...", Yasmin drew my attention, "...halp."
"Your stuff?", I asked and she nodded. "On my way. We'll return to the ship to get this all stored?"
The last was directed at both Dad and Yasmin, they both nodded.
"Sure.", Dad said and bowed his head lightly to Kumiko. "Thank you again for your service. It was splendid."
Yasmin nodded in agreement as I came out with her clothes and stuff over the arm.

Well, our winters are long and dark, which is one of the reasons my Dad took me and my sis to the Archipelago so often. I grinned.

The little place she led us to was quite charming and had a rustic aura and the waitress, who spotted and identified Kaori on the spot, was very cheerful.
At her description of why we were here with her, Rena smiled and I nodded. "I promised.", I said.
And then we were at the table with the promise of something good coming up.
With Kaori and Georgie seated, both of them on separate chairs, Kaori shared a piece of wisdom from her mother: "Desert is best when you can share with someone you like. That's how my mama puts things."
"She is right.", I said with a smile, waiting for the menu. "But you can also put that on its head: You know, that you like someone, when you enjoy eating dessert with them."
I knew, what Rena was thinking: Maybe I should invite that guy for desserts, then...

Not quite spider silk but far more affordable for those who don't bring in a lot of money."

Shinya wave the waitress over for her to take their orders "All right, comin' on up!"

"anyway," Ya-Xi said "I wouldn't mind. How about you, Hanoi?"

"Nor would I. Think that'd be a lovely time for us. To take to the seas and I shall guide us through the roughest of the rough"

"Oh, Hanoi." Ya=Xi did giggle a little. "I wouldn't mind also seeing some of the developments on the other islands. Obviously our power is very limited as leaders, only the Duchess and her Officers can broach relations so we'd be there just as tourists but I'd think it'd be fun."

"They sure look very nice, you friend is very talented Sir." says Tommy as Sunplena's father shows us the case of blades.

Sarah Miller

"Oh they're for wear? Awesome, I thought they were only a decorating item." I reply with enthusiasm. "Hey Dad, did you hear that?" I ask to my dad a few meters away, apparently checking for knives with Uncle Tommy.
"Sure Sarah, sure." he replies as he leaves Tommy and Sunplena's father to the knife display and approaches us.
"I think you would look great in them." I reply to him, before lightly pushing him towards Miss Sunplena "Miss Sunplena, would you mind showing my dad how to put one of those fishnets on?" I ask with a happy tone, although my eyes show a bit of a mischevious spark in them.

Dad, because of my push, ends up bumping lightly in Miss Sunplena.
"Um, s-sorry about that." he says to Sunplena as he rubs the back of his head awkwardly, his cheecks flushing red. "A-anyway, I would indeed like to try one of thesefishnets, could you please show me?" he asks Miss Sunplena, before turning his eyes towards me as if to ask What was that?, but my own eyes answering Go for it Dad.

As Owen and I thank the waitress after she has taken our orders, I focus back on the conversation.
"I'm sure you will appreciate your trip." I reply to Ya-Xi and Hanoi. "However, sorry to break your enthusiasm, but I fear you'll not be at liberty of visiting the other Islands, at least not for now. Just like any construction site, they are closed to the public for now, even the parts which we don't use for development. And don't get me started on the military bases we're building, our implicit orders are to shoot on sight if we spot an intruder.
-Indeed, " continues Owen, "that's why we train to do the warnings as fast as possible." he adds with a small chuckle. "Anyway, like she said, once we'll be settled better, I'm sure an invitation for an AHSCAian delegation to visit the Malditas will be sent to the Duchess and the other Islands governors. So don't worry, you'll get to see what we did to the Malditas." he finishes with a warm smile before taking another sip of his beer.

"Have fun!" Hiro wished the nice couple and just as quickly Satou and Tess made a small dash down to the nearby theater. "Today is a double show" The usher girl told them "there's a couple new plays today. one's a fun comedy the other is a serious drama. Please enjoy."

"I don't think I've brought you to the Aurora Theater before, have I?" Satou asked Tess when they entered and sat down.

"Hehe we all have our roles to pitch and work at. And we have our time for leisure too. My little girl welcomed you by standing out and calling of our open space and I checked you in. And you've heard right, the islanders are hospitable and welcoming to guests. And as the old days of the war shed away further, I'd say it's come back in full." She took the money with gracious thanks. "It's unusual but thank you very much, your generosity is appreciated."

The couple just had to make a quick run to the theater to make sure they got their seats. Indeed Tess had learned how to run with a yukata or kimono, it took a bit of time and some heavy storms and a hurricane to learn it as it was helpful and needed considering the situations so it was a blessing to, more considering her wife was very expert in this art since she always wore one.

Thankfully by the point they got there they still had seats left, it was sign of relief for Tess which meant that they would be able to watch and enjoy the show. It appeared that they could enjoy two shows today; a comedy and then a drama, today the two masks of theater were showing on one day with one to laugh and the other as a catharsis if the word could be used.

The couple sat down in their seats, waiting for the show to begin while Tess thought about Satou's question for a minute before answering.

"No, you haven't. I think it's nice that we come now tho, it helps a lot to see new things and besides, last time we went together to a theater was back in Mervay two years ago." She still remembered the time she was in the city back that Christmas and New Year's Eve. A nice time to remember for sure.

He grinned at her warmly before answering her question.

"Indeed. Everything in order Ma'am..." The soldier nodded while smiling, indeed feeling comfortable here. "Perfect to rest and stay if I have to say." He continued, with that smile still there, glad to hear about it being true since that hospitality was what those that came here told him about the charm of the islands alongside being an paradise entirely where you can feel free and relaxed.

Some weeks earlier:
"I know it's not exactly what you're used to, but it's a lovely little country. Very . . . rustic, quite charming." Simona, my editor, sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose in an exasperated gesture. "Look, Liane, you'll be doing me a favor. The suits up in Corporate are on an ethnic diversity bender and you're not only our best writer, you're a young woman and therefore the only one I trust to write this in a non-condescending tone that accounts for their less industrial and less technologically advanced nature. I hope I put that delicately enough. Saying no is not an option. Now get out of my office and start buying plane and boat tickets." I clicked my heels together and snapped off a crisp salute. "Yes, ma'am!" Mercifully, she laughed. "Very droll. Leave. Now."

Now:
Holy Mother, do I hate boats. I hauled my suitcase and duffel bag down the gangplank and had to fiercely suppress the urge to kiss the ground. At least Simona was right, Aurora's quite charming. It did look like it was stuck about a century and a half in the past, but I had to admit that it had a certain quaint beauty about it. Considering how long it had taken to get here, it had better be worth it. Where was I staying? I patted my pockets and dug through my handbag to find my (admittedly rather rough) itinerary. The Kitan, that was it. Right. Time to hit the road, or at least it would be time after I went through customs. "Good afternoon! Liane Harkenhal, finally arriving from the Empire of Brettenwald. Nothing to declare, but I've got some questions, if you don't mind. Namely, which way is it to the Kitan Inn, and how exactly do you get around here?"

Kumiko smiled taking the money and replied, "Coins, of course, I'd be happy to oblige." She rummaged through their money box pulling out all needed change giving most in bills but a small chunk back in coins. "Hope that'll suffice. If there's anything else I can do today, I'd be glad to help otherwise I really thank you for your business and you're welcome back any time."

"Right I believe you did mention that. Ooh the thought of ice and snow makes my skin bubble up. I mean I've lived here all my life so anything outside the tropics are strange to me. Let's see, so you're in winter now. Sounds like you'll be out for a while to get away from the darkness. "He knows his stuff. Fishing, forestry, framing, anything and everything you need a blade for he knows how to make it. Could probably even make a sword for a fighter who needs one. He and I go way back to boys, even then he had a real knack for crafting blades with his pop."

Sunplena nodded "That's right! I mean you can just use them for decoration if you like but these ones are meant to be worn. And if you're really brave it's all you really need. Though that's more of an islander thing if you get my drift." She giggled a little, she certainly wasn't averse to wearing such a getup on her end. "Ooh" She got bumped into him again. Strange but again this was a pretty small little place. Good thing it wasn't her home, that was even smaller! "Hehe it's fine. it's fine. It's just a small space. Of course I can show how. It's pretty simple, you wear a shawl or poncho? Like that for the basic ones, just slide it over." But she also showed off a few different styles to wear them, some to wear it like a sling, wear it like a full gown, or a short dress. "Again under clothing optional with these it's all about how much you want to show. But either way it's a nice way to top off what you like."

"oooh still under construction huh? I guess I didn't expect it right away, this season even but I guess you got plenty to do. I hope you can get it done quickly. I know it can be easy to set up a bunch of new settlements across these scattered islands so far from major ports. Obviously we're not of much help on that end given we're still pretty mmm old fashioned. I mean I'm not complaining, I love it here. Especially love my Shinya." She nuzzled up against her husband. He just kind of quietly blushed and muttered in agreement. "Well," Shinya spoke "When it is done, I'm sure we'll all love to see it. Satou grinned wide "Oooh our first time to the theater here together, that's so exciting! I remember the lovely theater you took me to in Mervay. So big and beautiful and amazing. I know this is a bit of a far cry from that lovely place but I'm certain you're gonna love what this little playhouse can bring. The performers are so great. And how lucky we're getting a double show today." The flames of the lamps were dimmed down. A lone woman stood on the stage. "Good day and Happy Festival to all who have come from near and far. The Aurora Royal Theater is happy to present a festival special. Starting with our comedic play of Frazzled Innkeeper followed by intermission and then our dramatic work of Homecoming featuring our star performers. Enjoy our show."

And so began the first show. A fun story about a young woman traveling between the islands only to come to an inn ran by a particularly nervous innkeeper.

"My goodness the tea has gone cold!"

"Well it's actually quite nice....I...."

"Let me heat that back for you!" The the keeper tripped spilling the tea.

"Oh my, are you okay, Miss?"

"Oh but of course but I must take care of you"

And that was the show, a series of silly events between the overly frantic innkeeper and her bemused guest. Many more unusual circumstances happening as set pieces changed, props changed and circumstances changed. Ending in a nice sweet event of the traveler and inn keep getting together as a couple "Really, maybe I'll run the inn and you greet our new guests"

"Then it's a deal." they share a kiss as the curtain falls on them, raising again for the small cast to take a bow and thank the audience. the curtain falls again to give a break between shows. The intermission was short; 15 minutes long. Enough for anyone to do as they need and stretch and of course talk a bit to say if they liked the show or thought maybe it wasn't that funny. Satou enjoyed it "The poor girl was so intent to please she kept making more mistakes. But they came together in the end so it was a sweet little story."

Satou listened for Tess to give her thoughts about if she liked it or disliked it and before long it was time for the second show of the day. this time they were greeted by the premiere Tsubasa Aihara glad in a long Kimono this time. "Good day and happy festival! We're beginning our dramatic presentation this one of a family returning to the islands after having to flee during the war. This is a fictional story but many are based on real experiences by many people, compiled into one story. Please enjoy."

This story was more dramatic, opening with narration "The year is 2000 and across a stormy unforgiving sea the Aihara family is returning home unsure of what awaits them."

The curtains drew showing the set of a ship interior. Off stage, poster boards to emulate thunder were rattled water was being slowly trickled down onto stage. The family played their own name but the story was they said was fiction. Dialogue about their hopes and fears about returning home. Two daughters to consider, their teenage daughter and younger daughter also expressing their same concerns on top of their frazzled nerves from the stormy voyage. As the play progressed, the family made it setting a home, dealing with people who deemed them cowards for fleeing others saying it was the right thing to do, making sense of a nation that was different from the one they left a few years prior. Fights, storms, famines and feasts were covered.

A climatic end a hurricane! The set being rocked from off stage by hands clad in all black to hide in the shadows. They sang praises to the Holy Goddesses. Then quiet as the family emerges to see a glorious sunrise (well the painting of one that is with some good lighting.) "Well I think we're gonna be okay here after all. This is our home."

With that the curtains drawn again and the cast allowed to take their bow and thank the audience. "Thank you for joining us."

The theater lit up again so folks could leave and move along with their day. The dramatic play was a bit longer so now late into the afternoon.

Alice shook her head, and accepted the tissue, wiping away some blood with it. "Nah, we're good, but thanks."
She counted out the cash and placed it down. After receiving the key, we would head upstairs and leave our possessions there, before heading next door for a bit to eat.

By God, I was starving, and so was Alice, from the looks of it. She started to drool as we caught a whiff of the food as we entered the diner.

"Yeah... hope they don't cause you trouble." Audrey nodded and ran a hand through her hair. "It's worth a shot, anyway... you've got maps right? Maybe a schedule for your festival?"

Once she acquired a map of the area, she surveyed it for points of interest and fun things. Drinks! Parties! Dancing! So many nice festival things for a young woman to enjoy. Though, of course, she was a bit afraid she'd stick out like a sore thumb here... not as much as the superyacht guys, but still. But what else was she gonna do? Might as well enjoy the place.

Port Aya

"oooh still under construction huh? I guess I didn't expect it right away, this season even but I guess you got plenty to do. I hope you can get it done quickly. This part of the region's weather is pretty known for being really turbulent and unsettled. I'm sure Her Grace the Duchess would be willing to bring anyone else along if she's asked to see it herself. But I share my wife's sentiment, we wish you a lot of luck and good fortune in building up."

Tommy Miller

"He sure seems like a fine blacksmith. It's a real shame many modern nations have forgotten such noble arts, only to replace them with factory-manufactured goods. But crafting something with your own hands is much more gratifying, at least for me." I reply, before taking out a tracker knife out of the crate and examining it. "This tracker knife is really beautiful. How much would it cost?" I ask as I put it aside on the counter before looking back at the crate full of blades to browse more of its content.

Sarah Miller

"Wearing only thhe fishnet be fine for me, "I reply, "but our homeland climates are a bit more temperate than here, so we wouldnt be able to wear it all year like this. Besides, Dad is a bit modest when it comes to show his body, so I don't think he would wear it only with nothing else. Am I right Dad?" I ask with a small teasing smirk.
"I'll show you who is modest about his body Sarah." replies my Dad Joel before taking off his shirt, putting it to the side, and draping himself in a blue fhishnet Sunplena just showed him, ending with the fishnet draped over him like a Roman toga, the back and front being connected by a knot over the left shoulder, leaving the right one uncovered, while also revealing my Dad's broad and muscular torso through the fishnet, as well as his cargo pants he's still wearing.
"So, what do you think?" he asks to me and Maria.
-You look really fine in it Joel, in fact I would easily mistake you for a local if I was meeting you for the first time." replies my aunt.
-Indeed." I add. "What do you think Miss Sunplena, does it fit him?" I ask to the nice saleswoman with a large smile, awaiting her reaction.

Staff Sergeant Abigail "Abby" Anderson
Port Aya, Hoshino

"Indeed, working under stormy and turbulent weather conditions is hard, very hard, but not impossible. We Astarian are a sturdy bunch." I reply with a smile. "Fortunately last year, our first construction crews managed to lay the bases for temporary, but sturdy, ports and logistical bases before the main storms hit the Malditas. So even if we could not really start contructing anything important before February, we still managed to stockpile supplies that would wait to be used. After that, it was only a matter of getting down to work rapidly and effitiently."
"Thank you very much for your well wishings, we appreciate it." replies Owen with a grateful smile and nod. "Just to ask though, among the general populace of the Islands, is there some kind of worry that a new nation is moving so close to you, and establishing various military outposts and everything?" he asks to Shinya and Ya-Xi.

That is a statue of our former Chief, Chief Kino. He's a hero of the islands and a founder of what is now the UIS. He was killed during the war but not without a good fight."

"Its a pleasaure to be here" replied Kyrksen.

Sojourner turned to the elder, "must have been a big fight then, has he got any museum dedicated to him and where is he buried?" she asks as Kyrk picks up his backpack before turning to Sojourner

"Jo, If there is a burial site for the chief, it would be worth going given he has a lot of significance for the town" comments Kyrk

Jay Sherman heads into town, feeling sweaty from walking long ways from the port. Feeling hungry, he decides to go inside the nearest bar in the town for a meal. He has heard of all the food that are served as local delicacies and can’t wait to try them. He takes a seat at one of the bar stools. He waves to the bartender there.

“Hello, I’ll have a beer, and some fish please”.

"Let's see." She flipped a few pages "Ah yes, here we are. All right." she noted down the rest of their information. "Excellent, welcome. Okay Suzuka here will help you along to your rooms. Please show our guests to 2E."

"Right away. Please follow me." The young lady lead the people along to their room on the second floor. She opened the door allowing them to enter. Opening the window, and explaining the room.

"All right I hope you'll enjoy your stay with us. We have beds and futons available for your preference. We offer turn down service and we light up the lamps in the evening. We have a restaurant next door that's apart of your stay here. So if there's anything more we can do for you, let us know."

The waitress noted Jay's order. "Certainly, how would you like your fish prepared? Broiled, steamed, charred, maybe you'd like a sushi roll?"

“That is wonderful thank you. We will surely ask if we need anything”. The room that Jellal and Erza has was very spacious indeed, with almost all the amenities that they could need. Both of them put down their baggage, and playfully cuddle with each other.

“A whole week just for ourselves” Erza says to him.

“It’ll be great, just the two of us,” Jellal replies. “Why don’t we go eat at that restaurant next door? It is lunch after all”.

“I am feeling a little peckish. Alright, we should eat, I’m a bit peckish for cake. And let’s go into town after that”.

“Sounds like a plan”. They both head to the restaurant that was next door

“Hmm… that sounds all like good choices”. Jay began listening to his stomach and decided. “I think I’ll take the sushi rolls please”.

Tsubaki

"If you'd like to eat here, I can have something prepared for you. We have a quaint little area for dining. But I also can recommend many places in town that are good to eat at too, especially if you also would like to drink. We only offer local sake here but taverns will have more options for alcoholic beverages. Of course tea and coffee are also specialties we serve right here. Home grown tea and cocoa is what's used to make it so you know you're getting the best of our farmer's hard work."

Aurora
"Indeed, I can't wait to see what they offer." Tess grinned wide back too, excited for their first time in this theater; certainly they would enjoy what it had offer. Just like her wife, she also remembered their first time in a theater back at Mervay two years ago; sure this place might be way different when it comes to the size of the building regarding the Asteria National Theater, but that didn't mattee since what it truly mattered was the shows that were to be shown.

"Don't worry, what truly matters is the show; besides, this place has it's charm." She smiled warmly while the flames were dimmed down. Then a woman came and presented herself, thanking the presents to coming here today; the first play was a comedy, a romantic one to be exact which goes by the name of "Frazzled Innkeeper" to then go to their dramatic work of the day; "Homecoming".

It all begun first with the romantic comedy that could make everyone laugh and also be warmed by it's romantic story and crazy circunstances happening, the set changing depending the issue. It was a great laugh and nice show to begin with, having that nice touch.

When it ended; Tess was glad to have been witness of such nice show, clapping for it when it did. She smiled back at Satou as she asked her about it with a wide grin on her face.

"Yeah, she really wanted to impress her and make sure she was comfortable that without knowing it only made her do even more mistakes." She said giggling about it; but in the end, it ended nice and perfect. "But in the end, those mistakes are what just led to the guest to date her as her girlfriend. It feels like a nice and warm story you know, one that it was so beautiful." The conclusion was to put it simply, she loved it. It was a beautiful show that was worth it.

Then of course it came the dramatic one; the premiere of it was the one presenting it. She explained that the work took place on a Post-War AHSCA, the story was fictional but with the events not being since it certainly happened to many families when they returned.

The story showed an scenario ir what you could expect, in a post war world like that, things changed in the islands and the family had to adapt to the new reality where they had to deal with the many struggles of such scenario. To end the drama, an hurricane which was the clímax point of the story; the family praying to the goddesses to then see a sunrise above them altogether.

It ended up with an ending filled with hopes for a bright future ahead of them with an smile on their faces after it, they were back at home.

When it ended and at the very second; Tess got up and clapped in sign of love for the work when the actors returned to thank the public. When everything finally ended, she sat and looked at her wife with an smile.

"I have to say that I loved the story. To have such beautiful and tragic work filled with hope always touches my heart." She said as some tears fell from her eyes, the wonders of theater; they always brought the best of people and was able to show the emotions of the audience.

"And you. Did you loved it dear??"

Tsubaki

"Well. Since you people have a restaurant, it is fair to say that you convinced me Ma'am." Eduard smiled while looking at his baggage and leaving it besides where the fueron would go. "I would love to taste what you people have to offer alongside that nice coffee of yours."

AHSCA wrote:Of course many of the shrines and temples around the islands had heard the rumors of a wandering stranger who played music and sung praises wherever he went.
[/spoiler]
“Perhaps.” the silver haired man stated after bowing to the Matron of the Temple. “Perhaps not. Many people come and go to the Islands during this time. Some may even pray.” His green eyes shone with a bit of mirth at the joke, but overall there was...a sadness. A sadness from exhaustion. “Though if you are referring to the stranger who frequented the isles last year to erect some small shrines to Yue-with the blessings of the local clergy, of course...and the much younger man who came the year before that during the hurricane…” he paused, weighing his words carefully. “They are indeed the same. I think I know them…”

"Ah yes, a two week cost, well our last room so it's going to be 7000 Island Credits exactly. Shall I consider the room booked? I can always suggest some cheaper inns around if it's a bit much but most tourists are fine with the costs."

"Just to ask though, among the general populace of the Islands, is there some kind of worry that a new nation is moving so close to you, and establishing various military outposts and everything?" he asks to Shinya and Ya-Xi

Kino, Corona

"Ahaha" He gave a hearty chortle of agreement, "Ya know ya folks are all right. You folks realize it is a lost art and ya see why we folks want to hold a lot of our old ways even if others have moved along. Ya know normally a knife like this would run you about 8000 credits but ya know a festival special I'll knock it down to 4 for ya. Might as well, you're our first customers of today!"

Sunplena giggled and smiled "Understood. Maybe just here then. Well if any of you'd like to try it on, go right ahead." She handed one over and wouldn't you know it, Joel was the one to try it on first. She felt suddenly quite warm in the cheeks laying eyes on him, he was pretty handsome she had to admit but why was she feeling this way, she'd seen men before. "Uh-ye-yeah it fits great. A real man of the islands now!"

Hoshino

"Well it sounds like you've managed to prepare yourselves, that's good at least." Ya-Xi nodded sipping on her tea.

Shinya nodded about the question "There is some early anxiety about it, but I think it will blow over as people get more at ease with it. It just brings up some old memories for some is all. But at this point, we have two foreign military bases on our soil and another one nearby, plus our own state of self defense forces at the ready. Anyone would have be crazy at this point to attack us again. Call me over confident perhaps, but I'd say we've built a decent safety net for ourselves here between relations with our own allies and our selves."

"Plus at some point, the Princess of the Sultanate of Kyrenaia could very well become the Duchess Consort of the islands. Of course AHSCA is a peaceful nation, we won't be going around and picking fights or anything of that sort. But Shinya is right, people will settle as time goes. I think the flurry of activity is just getting some folks riled up but as it settles down people will start to get used to it."

Lux Pulchrae wrote:“Oh well, I heard about this on the Internet. It was suggested to me, and since I have not been on a vacation in...15 years, I thought it would be nice.” stopping for a moment, Letizia realized she still had her sun hat on her head. She took it off and fixed her hair before continuing “Anyway, originally I planned to come here alone but my father didn’t agree so he booked my brother with me. And so here we are. We live on the coast so usually we are the one dealing with tourists but now it is reversed.”

"Well I suppose it's always a good idea to travel with a partner. That's why I brought Ji-yun with me. She's my best friend after all."

Ji-Yun's cheeks flushed a little. Even if she was still putting on an act, it rang sincere. She was pretty fond of Hyeon-Mi too as a friend.

Greater Orcadia wrote:"Its a pleasaure to be here" replied Kyrksen.

"I think you could all all of this port his dedication and burial. His body was burned by tradition and ashes scattered out to sea so there's no real burial sight besides the monument to him out in the square. But there's plenty any locals can tell you about him, he's a legend here. Not just for his martyrdom but for being a great leader and a good husband. Only a shame he never had a chance to leave behind progeny to take the mantel. Of course that's nothing against Chief Ayla, she's wonderful too just only sad we won't continue such a line."

The Hostess greeted Erza and Jellal "Welcome. Table this way, please." She sat them down offering a beverage to them first "We have various kinds of hot and chilled teas, coffee, fresh water and different types of alcohol for your choosing."

"Coming up." A short time of careful preparation and a roll was presented to him, wrapped in a palm leaf topped with white rice "Enjoy your meal."

"Well. Since you people have a restaurant, it is fair to say that you convinced me Ma'am." Eduard smiled while looking at his baggage and leaving it besides where the fueron would go. "I would love to taste what you people have to offer alongside that nice coffee of yours."

Satou dabbed the tears away from her beloved's eyes "I know, it moved me too! It's like what granny would say to me, when she felt things are just bad or she was feeling anxious about the days ahead, she'd look into my big blue eyes and suddenly feel hopeful. My eyes just have a gentle aura to them that makes people feel good. I guess that's why you married me after all." She giggled pecking her on cheek "Such a lovely play. They do so many great shows there, I think we'll be plenty entertained during the deluge."

Tsubaki

"Wonderful. Then please, follow me and I'll get you served up." She lead him along to another rather spacious room with a large center table and a cushion to sit on. It was fairly empty right now only a few guests scattered at various ends. "We're usually filled up more for dinner. Now I'd like to offer some specialties of ours, white rice with grilled salmon and a squeeze of tropical lime juice on top. That's my suggestion but you're free to request what you like."

Danceria wrote:“Perhaps.” the silver haired man stated after bowing to the Matron of the Temple.

"Mmmmm. playing mysterious and coy are we? Ahaha, I like your style!" She slapped him on the back with her open palm. "Well might I say you do look a bit tired and worn out. I imagine you've had a long journey to come to our little island so I would like to welcome you a place with us tonight if you have not made accommodations elsewhere. I think the other Priestesses and I would enjoy your company at our evening supper."
