Welcome to the signup thread of the Gold Coast Basketball Tournament!
Where?
This tournament will take place in Gold Coast. Gold Coast is the largest city in Northwest Kalactin and the Capital up until the start of the 86th WC Cycle. Gold Coast is where the Kalactanian Basketball team plays all of their home games. The Coastal Arena (12,000) will be the spot where this tournament is played, and is also the home of the Kalactanian National Team and Gold Coast BC.
When?
The Starting Date of the tournament will likely be anywhere from September 20-25th, depending on how fast signups fill up. It is possible we could start before then if signups fill quick enough.
Who?
This tournament will run with a 12-16 team format, and groups of 4 are the preferable format, although I can work with anything. Puppets will not be allowed, as we want to get in as many RPing Main nations as we can.
Why?
Here comes the fun part. The first and biggest reason is because I have created a formula that allows for NBA Scoring in xkoranate. This tournament should provide for an adequate testing ground for it. The formula is available for public use here, and Damukuni has kindly provided testing results. (Quick note: the 3 in the “smallest” testing result is an overtime score, as OT scores were not separated from Regular ones in the tests.) The second reason is due to the long time that we have had between IBCs, always good to keep the Basketball RP engines going, right?
How?
Scorination will be done with xkoranate. RP Bonus will be generous and cumulative, as this tournament is relatively short. IBC Ranks will not be used, and the group draw will be random.
