Nothing is more important than your mission, your demands, your end goal. It is SternGuard’s duty to deliver. We will approach any and all contract offers objectively with an open mind, and endeavour to deliver you an acceptable solution to your security concerns for the best value for your money. We understand circumstances change both quickly and over time, as such are amiable to such changes and allow for flexible rearrangements of terms and condition to better suit you the client.
Values and Standards
We are duty bound to high risks, and it is a key principle we adhere to. Our staff and operators know that SternGuard clientele demand our best in high risks. Thus, it is a duty to seize the day for the client and strive deliver the results expected despite the risk.
We aim to deliver our services and expertise with all the professionalism and discipline you would expect from any experienced military outfit and our middle and upper line management work hard to ensure these standards do not slip.
We also endeavour to display and promote the best leadership in the business, drawing from all available expertise within our ranks, but also learning from our clientele and opponents. Assimilating the best aspects of leadership, whether it be encouraging operators or leading them into battle, to being decisive in security decisions or delivering on corporate objectives on time.
This sense of duty also extends internally to our own organisation, a duty to ourselves and our own moral being. In the sense the client should be at the forefront of the business is sacrosanct, but only in so much as it oes not violate the sense of duty and honour that operators should have to each other. Therefore, SternGuard will not participate in operations to fundamentally break this moral code or engage in conflict of interest operations where the organisation is pitted against itself between two clientele.
About us…
Established in 1998, SternGuard was founded by ten of the Holy Empire of Stevid’s foremost experts in finance, the defence sector, military doctrine and theory, and also politics – with over a hundred years’ experience in their respective roles where they crossed over. The formation of SternGuard came as the members were reaching the end of their tenures in their respective roles but still wished to utilise their expertise but in a new competitive business role. A unique identifier of all ten individuals were that they all held knighthoods and chivalric orders from the crown of Stevid. These honours formed the very founding principle of SternGuard: Duty. This was to act in contrast to the religiously influence foreign policy doctrines of the Stevidian government, allowing the business of security to transcend national borders and ideology.
The first real test for SternGuard came in the latter stages of the Corporate Alliance War over a decade ago, where newly found natural resources were discovered by small nations and said nations were subsequently attacked by the Blackhelm Confederacy. SternGuard actively approached these smaller nations and offered its services to protect and overtly defend their new oil installations, while taking no active part in the war. The decision to lobby these nations as opposed to being approached by the client directly was indicative of the company the founders wish to present to the world. The Holy Empire of Stevid was not involved in the war despite having a vested interest. SternGuard believed it was duty bound to protect these installations (so long as the owners agreed) in the absence of Imperial forces. As a result nearly two battalions worth of combined arms operators were deployed to sea and land installations and saw limited kinetic engagements against hostile forces.
The experiences of guarding and successfully defending oil rigs subsequently gave rise to the idea of fortified forward operating bases (FOBs) based on oil rigs. Aside from the corporation’s main headquarters situated in Stevid Capita, SternGuard has several land based installations around the world – but the most novel are akin to whole military bases that are comprised of several struts of a complete oil rig complex designed and built by SeaCul. As regional FOBs, SternGuard now operates a land fortress in Stevidian South Greal, multi-strut rig platforms in the seas between Stevid and Dersconi and between Kassaran and the Timocractic Republic (Approx. GR: 25 India), as well as expeditionary force of ships including fast tankers and semi-flattop landing ships. Additional small offices for administration and equipment storage are located in partner nations and throughout the Empire.
The sense of duty espoused by SternGuard, as highlighted in the Values and Standards section is typified by the honorifics our operators hold. The statuses and awards that were bestowed on the founders of SternGuard are replicated to a degree within the organisation. These awards, honours and medals are awards to operators who display the finest virtues one would expect from any knight of any chivalric order. SternGuard also uses this as a selling point and clientele should be aware of such awards that operators use for it reveals experience and expertise in their role. Every medal and honour tells a story of great deeds and that the operator is highly valued by SternGuard. The ceremonies too are great events, and is a cause for much celebration – it is not unusual for the deeds of men deployed on operational contracts to come back to SternGuard establishments with the clientele passing on the appraisal of the excellent work to SternGuard. Conversely, poor representation by our operatives is treated in the same manner as one would expect when minimal standards are not met.
Where we are based
General Headquarters – Stevid Capita, Stevid
GHQ Central Offices - Stevid Capita
Principle administration offices for the corporate affairs of the SternGuard company. Contract negotiations, inter-corporation or state-to-corp talks are almost always conducted here, either in person or over live link. Subsidiary and affiliate company offices are also located onsite but will also have local administrative buildings in host-nations.
FOB Avalon – Stevidian South Greal
This is a land fortress located towards the mountainous south-west of the colonial territory within the Holy Empire of Stevid. It is primarily from this location the contracts serving eastern Greater Dienstad and the rest of the world are conducted, or the very least controlled. As such it is the largest such installation in SternGuard’s arsenal and competes with other foreign private military contractors as one of the largest such non-nation-state military sites in the world.
FOB Excalibur
This is a multi-platform sea rig that sits almost halfway between Stevid and Dersconi colony and, while in international waters, remains exclusively within the Empires area of economic and military interest.
The rig comprises of ten interconnected platforms that are gathered in clusters. The rigs are protected by small naval craft and
VTOL aircraft. This FOB services Greater Dienstad for most overt kinetic
combat operations, but services the rest of the world for other SternGuard contract ventures.
FOB Pridwen – Northern Vanguat Sea (GDGR: 25-India)
This is a multi-platform sea rig that is situated far out in the international waters of north west Greater Dienstad at grid reference 25-India. It is the most remote of the FOBs and is therefore the largest rig-based FOB with fifteen interconnected platforms comprising of five clusters. It has a dedicated sea tender fleet as the expeditionary naval force is stationed at FOB Pridwen. This FOBs services kinetic operations in western Greater Dienstad, as well as interregional naval task force operations. In regards to non-combat operations, this FOB is the principle installations for signals intercept and analysis.
