A Harvest Festival in the City of Iron (OOC, OPEN)

[The Selkie]

Come one, come all!

The City of Ironcastle, its citizenry, the Swordmaidens of Carman Fea and the towns and villages along the Socair River invite all interested in a large celebration to the 2020 Ironcastle Harvest Festival!

This celebration, the largest of its kind in the Free Lands, will be held on the 20th of September 2020 in Ironcastle. We have an exciting itinerary planned for that day, from the competition for the Gealanacoinlín Cup, various concerts, skill demonstrations of the Swordmaidens and the SDF to the Ironcastle Motor Rallye.
The Old Town, Clais Castle and the New Town Districts will show their best, also in the ways of street art.

However, due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, which has everyone on high alert, I ask you to be careful and to keep in mind the official announcements and regulations.

Ironcastle can be reached relatively easily by three ways: Land, sea and air.
By land, you need to follow the Old Traveling Roads or simply take the train.
By sea, you enter the Silver Bay and then take a ferry up the Socair River. The ferryport of choice should be Theilgadún.
By air, you can either take a seaplane to the Ironcastle Seaplane Port. The seaplnae port is connected to the International Airports in Silverport and Traverse.

Within Ironcastle, a tramway allows for easy transportation. With a Guest Card, which you will get at your inn's reception desk (only with inns participating in the program), you can use the tramway for free.
Several Ring Lines connect all points of interest.
Other then that, by foot or by horse are viable options. Horse-drawn carriages taxi people around for a small fee. The Old Town is banned for all non-government motor traffic.

In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, a.k.a. the Corona-Virus, the administration of Ironcastle and the Government of the Free Lands have adopted the following measurements:

- When arriving at an airport or port, the aircraft or vessel is to be placed in quarantine, the crew and passengers to be tested. Should the tests of ALL be negative, the crew and passengers are free to go. Should there be at least one positive case, the crew and passengers are isolated and treated.
- Shops are asked to place disinfectant at the disposal of the customers. Customers are requested to use that opportunity.
- Due to the widespread lack of electronic payment terminals in the Free Lands, people are asked to pay in Gil coins (the silver coins) as much as possible. Where the possibility for electronic payment exists, customers are asked to use said possibility.
- Sneeze into the crook of the arm.
- Social Distancing: The Free Lands have not instituted Social Distancing Measures so far.
- Face Masks: It is the prerogative of the owner or operator of a shop or restaurant to institute the requirement of face masks. To our knowledge, the majority of shops in the Free Lands have instituted such a requirement, so we ask you to keep at least one handy. All museums have instituted such a requirement. Face masks are handed out at the Temples, the town and city halls and at the reception desks of every inn.
- Taprooms will have limited access, limited to one person per ten square meters of access.
- Street Vendors and Traveling People are not allowed to sell under open air.

Currently, the number of new COVID-19 Cases in the Free Lands is below a dozen a week. In order to keep it that way, we ask all people, both here and abroad, to stick to these measurements.
Should, however, the situation escalate, we will adopt new measures up to a Complete Lockdown. Should that situation come to pass, we ask all people to remain calm and collected and to listen to official announcements as well as to follow official policies - including policies enforced by the Younger Militias.

Hello and welcome to A Harvest Festival in the City of Iron!
Time sure flies, eh? Not long ago, we celebrated Spring and now the Harvest, but here we are - the grandest celebration in the Free Lands in the city, which is arguably the most 'modern-looking' one in the Free Lands. Outside of the Old Town, you will not find many timber buildings, that is for sure.
Ironcastle is the second-largest city in the Free Lands with 43,974 inhabitants including the Hinterlands and one of its industrial centers: Ironcastle Ironworks and Gabha Motorworks as well as a number of other industrial companies are seated here, on the banks of the Socair Rivers as it comes down from the Silver Mountains.

For this festival, there will be a few major changes from the usual formula:

- The area covered is geographically far larger.
- Many more events are available for viewing and, to some extend, participating.
- You might have noticed, that there is no list of inns. In order to allow us all to jump right into the good part, your characters will already have taken up residence in an inn and are now ready to jump right into the fray.
- COVID-19 is a thing. I do not wish to discuss the measures taken by the Free Lands, they might be effective, they might not be. If you wish to discuss the pandemic, there is a thread for that and it is not this one. Fact is, so far, the Free Lands survived it rather well and thus can hold such a festival. For questions regarding the In-Character Implications of the Pandemic on this Roleplay, ask in this thread, especially when it concerns your characters - everything else goes elsewhere (most likely here).

As usual, however, you won't be allowed to compete in the sportive events. The reason is simply, that this is not NSSports and I would basically roll a dice as to who finishes when - and that is simply not fair to people, who put a lot of effort into it and might lead to needless discussions ("But my car was red, so it's the fastest!"). I hope you understand.

Before we go, however, we need...

1. No Godmodding, Metagaming or similar stuff. No exceptions.

1.1. If you suspect someone of being guilty of breaking any of these rules, bring it to our attention here. We will talk about it.
1.2. Keep it civil on the OOC. What you do on the IC is another question.
1.3. OOC on the OOC-thread, IC on the IC-thread. It's not complicated.
1.4. For convenience, I will play the character from Teressien and Kyrenaia, from this account as they are my other Main Nations. For those needing proof for that claim.

2. All NPCs will be controlled by me and only by me. No exceptions.
3. No murders. This is a festival, not a murder mystery. No exceptions.

3.1. Violence between player characters only after both involved players agreed to it here. However, be aware, that the local security will be very quick to dissolve such occurances. And I don't give a damn how much of Karate Kids your people are, they will get them apart quite quickly. No exception.

4. Permitted Characters:

4.1. Generally speaking, this is a Festival. Tourists from all walks of life are welcome.
4.2. No high national or military officials. As a general rule of thumb, no generals or admirals, heads of state, heads of government, heads of national provinces or ministers of nations or provinces. No exception.
4.3. Appearance of your characters, a.k.a. Valid Passport Photo. Please choose pictures, that are SFW and where your character is easily identifiable. Anime-Pictures are allowed, but are under the same restrictions. You can also write a description of him or her. And it does not have to be a passport photo. Please use a maximum size of 550 by 550 pixels or hotlink and please do not spoiler.
4.4. Weapons: Everything, that is not a firearm can be brought. Any sort of pistol, rifle, rocket launcher, everything like that, is not permitted. No exceptions.
4.5. Security: There should be no need to bring bodyguards. In other words, you will NOT bring bodyguards. No exceptions.
4.6. One Character, one filled out app. No exceptions.
4.7. Non-Humans. Non-Human Humanoids are permitted, the rest is not. No magic (and no, I don't care, what you call it). No exceptions.
4.8. The question "Have you read and understood the Rules?" is to be answered with "Corona Beer is delicious." No exceptions.
4.9. Characters must be original. You can use whatever images you want, though. No exceptions.
