Russell snorted, laughing slightly. "Naw, ma'am. Nothing as Republican as that."

He cleared his throat and took another turn, down a busier street. Bars lined both sides, and people crowded around, jostling them.

"The verse says, 'If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?'. And that...well, that struck me," he repeated, leading Dayton into a bar best described as "upscale seedy", "struck me hard. Because this isn't about Russell Long and his ego...it's about the people of Louisiana. Serving them."

"Ironic and fortunate then, that there's a Senate Race here in Louisiana coming right up," she smirked, she waved to some folks, the image of Jillian talking with Russell would probably make it's way to Murphy's HQ, oh that commie must be fuming.

I’d be more than willing to get such legislation done & out and help out, it’d set a historic precedent and most certainly would have bi-partisan support. It’s a very worthy endeavor, sacrificing campaign time for legislative work. America deserves it

FOX News
December 2nd, 2019
State of the Democratic Primary

Image

Benfield: Welcome back to FOX News, we are going to check in on the state of the race on the Democratic side of the aisle. Lets start with the four early states; Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.

Image

Benfield: Right now we have seen the head to head matchup between Velez and Murphy fall apart with the Velez campaign faltering, but instead of Murphy becoming the clear leader in the race it appears that Senator Dayton has risen to neck and neck status with Murphy in national polls with both around 24% and Velez dropping to 20%.

In the early states this shakes out to leads by Murphy in Iowa, Dayton in New Hampshire and Velez in Nevada and South Carolina. Now if the current trajectory of the race keeps up she is on track to lead in South Carolina very soon and Murphy is set to overtake Velez in Nevada.

(Murphy is Blue. Dayton is Red, Velez is Yellow)

Image

Benfield: So what does this mean for Super Tuesday? Momentum, Momentum, Momentum. Even if Velez picks up a lot of delegates in the early states, which he likely will, if he doesn’t outright win states he will likely lose ground on Super Tuesday States.

Image

Benfield: As you can see we have a lot of Southern States on the ballot for Super Tuesday which helps both Dayton and Velez who poll much better with minority voters and Southern States in general compared to Murphy. However Dayton and Velez are splitting those voters which significantly dulls that advantage and while Dayton’s advantage among African Americans is growing it will likely not be sufficiently overwhelming to make up for massive states like California and Texas where Dayton is behind significantly. This is what the map looks like right now according to the polls.

Image

Benfield: Now if the race continues on its current trajectory and we factor in momentum from Murphy and Dayton winning early states we see Tennessee flipping to Dayton and Oklahoma flipping to Murphy but Velez holds Texas where his lead is massive due to his tireless stumping across the state during the Texas Special election.

Image

Benfield: This might not seem like much on paper but in terms of delegates it is a big difference. Dayton will be collecting delegates everywhere in very close margins to Murphy, losing states like Massachusetts, Maine and Oklahoma by only a few points and winning by larger margins in the South, states like Alabama and North Carolina. But the margin of victory in the big states of Texas and California will make this much more of an even race, although Doctor Martin Spellman is likely eating away at a large number of potential Murphy voters on the West coast and might be a spoiler. Then we have the next set of races on March 10th aka super tuesday part two.

Image

Benfield: This is where things start to get hairy for Dayton and Velez. Super Tuesday part one is likely their best day on the calendar and they are splitting votes, as the race moves to the West coast and the rust belt Murphy will have an increasing advantage. Even if Velez or Dayton drops and endorses the other one the impact will be greatly lessened by the calendar. Velez obviously has a big lead in his home state of Florida, he also currently has leads in Arizona, Illinois, Georgia, and Puerto Rico which will likely suffer a few points should Super Tuesday play out as projected. Right now, what polling we have is not as accurate but this is how things likely look

Image

Benfield: Now this map looks really good for Velez but the margins in Illinois and Georgia are small. Additionally Senator Moore from Michigan will likely have some impact on the Michigan vote. If Dayton momentum continues and Velez continues to falter this is a more likely map.

Image

Benfield: Murphy taking Illinois by a small margin and Dayton overcoming Velez in Georgia. So lets put this all together. What does the democratic primary look like on March 11th assuming the current trends continue?

(Murphy is Blue. Dayton is Red, Velez is Yellow)

Image

Benfield: This is the FOX News State of the Race. Things are volatile and will likely change but for right now this is what we are looking at.

Nate Richardson
Story County, Iowa
November 26th, 2019

Image

Nate felt as if he had met every faith leader in Iowa and yet somehow he had more meetings. 12 faith leaders, intimate small groups, with 2 already being Richardson supporters. It was a formula that continually worked, especially after the support of the Dunn’s was public, and while time consuming he was confident that in the caucus it would make a difference with enthusiasm among voters. After a 4 such meetings RIchardson had lunch in Ames at a local diner where he held an informal townhall and interacted with voters while enjoying local food, but after this it was back to small group meetings, a half dozen more with faith leaders and business leaders before the evening’s townhall at Iowa State.

Nate Richardson
Pickens County, South Carolina
November 27th, 2019

Image

Nate started early by visiting churches in Pickens County, doing small group meetings with faith leaders and local congregations, he did four such meetings before noon. At noon Nate headed to the Spangler Grocery on Walhalla Highway. The name was a bit misleading, its more of a convenience store with a lunch counter that around noon turned into a Republican hotspot. It was not the first visit to the lunch counter for Richardson and people actually started to get to know him, he spent two hours eating cheeseburgers and having candid conversations with the people who came there for their lunch hour. He emphasized education and faith mostly as well as cultural values. He had a longstanding relationship with a professor named Dave Woodard who taught at Clemson and was contracted as a campaign advisor, as per his advice Nate had often presented himself as the ‘most conservative candidate electable’ and this philosophy was most present in communities like those in Pickens County. Nate’s day was categorized by emphasizing his consistent stance on abortion as well as his general value strongly based in his faith. He also made sure to draw comparisons to himself and (Not Haley) in terms of bringing in industry and helping the economy. After doing his traditional residential retail, Richardson held a townhall at Clemson in the evening.

Nate Richardson
Belknap County, New Hampshire
November 28th, 2019

Image

Nate was most uneasy about New Hampshire, he wasn’t worried about Prendergast due to the Opioid albatross hanging on his neck but Paulson would likely pull away quite a few votes given her geographic proximity. But Richardson felt he could pick up votes in Belknap County which was relatively conservative compared to the rest of the state. He focused in and around Laconia and its suburbs, its small town feel and local stores were perfect for Nate’s brand of retail politics. Once again Nate sat at lunch counters and met with faith leaders. He visited a few local motorcycle shops and the Laconia Christian Academy but the focus for the day was clearly on residential areas until the evening when he held a townhall at the Lakes Region Community college.

Levi Murphy Campaign Stop
Las Vegas, Nevada

Image

On the back of growing momentum in the campaign, the Senator decided it was best to hit Nevada yet. There were becoming a lot of more undecided voters in the state, after Westra dropped-out of the race, there was a large pool of progressive voters that probably wouldn't have swallowed the pill and backed Dayton. He arrived to galvanize those groups, in particular, build a coalition of hispanic voters that he can trust on to vote on the caucus day. A large convention hall was book-out for the campaign, described as a campaign rally, but it was more of a voter outreach project. While the Senator did plan on speak, it was mainly about deepening those roots of supporters he hand in the community and training them in going back home and swaying voters.

But before that, however, the Senator arrived in the state and the first thing he did was attend a planned grassroots fundraiser. There, he would speak with many progressives and die-hard supports. This event had even cross-candidate support, as many of those who had supported Westra would have probably found the his campaign opening and welcoming. Before the Senator spoke to the crowd, a few surrogates warmed up the crowd. That included some local personalities, some well-known organizers inside the campaign and Levi's most trusted advisors. His Hispanic opinion leaders took to the stage and spoke at length about his progressive immigration policies, raising the minimum wage and Medicare for All. At the end of the day, they were here to see and hear the Senator speak. This event was live-streamed on all campaign social media accounts, including YouTube, Twitch and Periscope. On the side of the video, a fundraising graph would be put up to demonstrate how far they were fundraising and encouraging those to pitch in more to reach 'goals'. Moderators encourage those viewing online to donate if they could.

The Senator walked on to the stage and spoke to the crowd. "Hello, Las Vegas!" The crowd roared, in a rally-style appearance. "Thanks for coming. Our campaign is in a position to win, and we want you all to be a part of a new political revolution that is going to sweep this country. But it's gotta' start with the first four states, which makes the Nevada caucus one of the most important to prove that we have what it takes to win the primary - and win the White House from the Republicans. It's been a long road: a partisan censure against me in an attempt to sink the campaign, the coalescing of the Wall Street favourites in the race, many debates where we have demonstrated the need for real, bold progressive action. The campaign has now got to kick into the final lap of the race. We want all of you, whether you are Black, Brown or White, working class, straight, gay, bisexual -- all of that, this is the movement to take back Washington D.C. for the people and we're a coming. Breaking down corruption and restoring democracy is our aim."

"But we're fighting for much more too. I'm talking about Medicare for All. Guaranteeing health care for everyone, for free, universal coverage, as a right. People shouldn't be losing their homes over an operation, people should be cared for during those times, not discarded. We're fighting for a Green New Deal. To create new jobs for hard-working Americans and build a new American industrial renaissance. It's not just so we can beat back Climate Change, like we beat back the fascists in the Second World War. It's about reinvigorating the industrial heart land of this nation once again. I want to see the factories re-opened. I want to see workers back to work. I want to see our unions bouncing back and demanding more, fairer treatment. While they try to censure us for opposing war, they are also trying to censure a progressive movement. We cannot let them have their way. And if they did, we'd have another four years of jobs going overseas. Another four years of war. Another four years of economic warfare on the poor and working class. I'm standing up to say no, so please join us."

"That's why your support is needed, and we're so grateful for your support. No matter what you contribute, you are contributing to a large movement of working class people determined on fighting the good fight."

Dayton Rallies & Retail
PA, OH, MI, IN, IL & WI
December 2, 2019 - December 6, 2019

Dayton arrived in Philadelphia to kickstart her Rust Belt roadtrip, the packed schedule reflected two things, the surgical precision with which visits were organized, and the closeness of the race. Philly was the site of one coffee with Dayton before hosting a two hour roundtable with all major Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and New Jersey unions which Senator Westra had helped to organize. She wanted their input and guidance before attending the Teamsters Forum on the seventh in Iowa. She wasted no time leaving Philly for an immediate visit to Pittsburg, via Harrisburg and Altoona. In all four sites she toured workplaces, met with families and knocked on doors. Upping her union credentials would prove crucial in the next phase of the campaign. In Philly she made certain to include local black activist groups at the table. From Pittsburg, the campaign immediately moves into Ohio, sticking to it's lakeside coast, she visits Cleveland, Toledo and crosses into Detroit for the night of the third. In all of Pennsylvania, messaging was directed at 'keeping Pennsylvania jobs in Pennsylvania', with reaffirmations of the pledge to keep ongoing gas jobs in Pennsylvania.

In Ohio, the focus of messaging is focused exclusively on 'putting American jobs first', pledging 'better jobs, more jobs, higher wages'. Here she also added the vocational and trades arm of her education strategy into her speeches, saying, "together we can see to it that apprenticeships are available to everyone who wants them. If you want an apprenticeship, you can get one, if you want a job after it, then we'll build an economy that gives you a high-paying, secure job right here in Ohio." In Toledo and Cleveland she made sure to visit the two prongs of every Democrat's success here, working class communities and minority communities, she met with leaders from both and knocked on doors before crossing into Detroit for a 'Drinks w Dayton' event. This was a particularly rowdy event, and Dayton spoke with two lines, "folks, it's because of you that we'll go right onto winning this race, together, we'll see to it that we put Wolfism to it's bed and resurrect the American Dream. Together we'll get it done, and together, we'll finish this bar tab," she lifted her beer after that and the drinks went up.

From Detroit, on the 4th of December, her campaign went to Ann Harbor & Kalamazoo before crossing into Indiana by midday for a long roundtable in Fort Wayne, and a subsequent degree of store visits and doorknocking, then it was into Chicago for the night. She spoke in Grant Park that evening to one of the most diverse crowds she'd been able to draw in the entire campaign.

FRIENDS! AMERICANS! Thank you!

This coalition of ours, my oh my can it give a rowdy welcome! Folks, this, this movement, this grouping, that we have put together, that I see before me is one formed of all Americans, from farmers to young people to city dwellers to our very own neighbors, who will finally help us correct course, to fight back and take back our nation. I mean, right here, I see the future leaders of tomorrow. And I am proud of what I'm seeing. But our national leadership, that’s a different story. We can’t keep stumbling along with a President that decides things on a whim. Rather, we’re ready to give this country a shot at getting back on track! When looking to the future, we must remember the lessons of the past and of the present. Now, I could pander to some vague ash and fire of revolutionary politics, or bend over backwards for Wall Street. But I offer to you instead a campaign of pragmatic grassroots Americans coming together to end the Wolfist Presidency that has ruined the reputation of our country abroad, put Wall Street ahead of people and pandered to our worst sides.

Talk is cheap when you're a white woman from Virginia running for President. I'm conscious that it's a lot of what campaigning is about, talking to the heart and soul of our party, folks who've propelled the candidacies of Clifford and Baharia, to you, all in hopes that you decide I'm worth the investment. Naturally, I'll tell you I am, and the reason is because we have a choice, we can either win big next November or sit down idly and accept defeat. We must build on the legacy of the most successful Democrat in our lifetimes, President Rashid Baharia who brought together a coalition of Americans from all parties, of every race, ethnicity, gender and economic background. Democrat or Republican. Independent or apathetic, we win when we come together, when we build on the legacy and accomplishments of the past instead of paying lip service to donors or a mythical revolution. Political lobbyists turned political candidates, have no place ruling our politics, neither do half-arsed representatives with no actual success. Unlike my opponents, I've acted on my words, and I intend to continue doing that.

When I was Governor of Virginia, we passed the most ambitious and successful college affordability program. We passed an expansion to public transport. We expanded healthcare access across the state. We did it with Republicans in charge in Richmond, imagine for a moment what we can accomplish in D.C., I can't without your vote, I can't without your support. We can't begin to address the housing crisis, the health crisis and education crisis in this country until we send Democrats to Washington who will fight tooth and nail to address them realistically. Not by waving our arms and yelping about a revolution or bending over backwards for Wall Street's dollars, no, by coming together as a coalition of willing and devoted Americans ready to first defeat Wolfism, and second to govern and deliver. I've governed. I've delivered.

Join me, join this campaign and after Iowa, after next November, when we take the White House, let us enact an agenda that prioritizes jobs and growth. Better and more jobs, and real wage growth. For fifty years the working American has had their wages come second to Wall Street's profits. We've told families that going bankrupt over medical bills is an acceptable compromise, as though the American Dream that Democrats in the mold of FDR and LBJ have improved, is meant to include low wages and broke students. As though the American Dream is one paved by Washington's lobbyists, not it's constituents. My pledge is that the past four decades of prioritizing Wall Street, the lobbyist circles and the profits of companies which pay no taxes, underpay their employees and outsource at the first sign of opportunity ends the day we vote. The day we get out there, and make our voices heard.

It is in that history that I am reminded of the spirit of the American people, a spirit that to this day is the reason why we are a hardworking, just, and mighty people. I believe the time is now to put the jobs and interests of working Americans first. Every American child born today, tomorrow or whenever should be free to pursue success and opportunity without ! It is unfair that multimillionaires buy their children’s admissions into Ivy League schools while those all other Americans must work hard to earn their keep! It is unfair that your zip code can determine your life expectancy! It is unfair that our veterans return to find themselves ignored by a system designed to prioritize their concerns! It is unfair that workers live paycheck to paycheck while CEOs accept bonuses to the tune of millions! It is unfair that voters can be packed into districts diluting their voting power!

Let me deliver for you. Let us begin a new chapter in our books by giving families and working Americans the choice to drive themselves to success. Let us do this together. Let us do this at the ballot box. Thank you all, thank you all!

She stepped aside from the podium, waved and accepted applause before stepping down to the ropeline.

The following day, the Fifth, was spent canvassing Chicago, Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, Peoria, Davenport & Rockford. The pub ending in Rockford preceded a day that started in La Crosse, then Eau Claire before ending for the evening with a visit to Milwaukee. The Wisconsin arm focused heavily on farm issues, agriculture subsidies and workers rights. Raising the rate to fifteen, protecting American jobs and 'having faith in American ingenuity'. She ended her pre-Iowa night with a collapse onto a Milwaukee bed. There she finally got more than five hours sleep.

On a crisp and beautiful friday in Pennsylvania Richardson walked the streets of Norristown. Norristown was in many ways just a suburb of Philadelphia. It was a Republican stronghold until 2008 or so and had a reputation for favoring Republican moderates, and while it did not have the kind of vote power it once did for his party it still had quite a few votes to get. His day started in Business Parks in Blue Bell, then Lansdale, Fort Washington and Horsham, and doing some meetings with small business leaders. He had lunch in King of Prussia near the mall before canvasing that area, all the while doing a rolling meet and greet across the county, taking his time and doing personal charm based politics. Norristown itself was the target for the evening residential retail that followed the Richardson campaign formula. As night fell on the County he headed to Bryn Mawr to hold a townhall.

Nate’s retail politicking in Knox County focused a bit heavily on his manufacturing and industrial plan, the region remembered the importance manufacturing once held in the county and the region. He visited the regional history museum and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame with his daughter, an avid basketball fan. He held two small group meetings, one with business leaders and one with religious leaders, and then made his way to Market Square, hitting dozens of restaurants and small businesses as well as the residential condominiums. In the evening Richardson canvassed along the South Knoxville Waterfront hitting more businesses and locals. Finally Richardson held a rally at the University of Tennessee and made sure to laud the local Tennessee Volunteers.

Nate enjoyed Sunday service early in the morning of December 1st in the suburbs of Cincinnati. Ohio was not only important to Richardson in the primary but it was vital in the general, if the Conservative suburbs were not behind Richardson he could not win Ohio. His retail involved going to a number of Chili places for which Cincinnati was famous; Skyline Chili, Gold Star Chili, and Dixie Chili were just a few if the places visited. In between the Chili marathon Nate made the rounds meeting with small business leaders and faith leaders from around Southwestern Ohio. The focus was manufacturing, industry and economics, how Richardson’s Presidency would rebuild manufacturing in the country and put more money in the pockets of Americans. After 2 or 3 hours of residential retail in the suburbs Richardson gave a rally just outside the city.

Simone was glad she had plenty of rooms at the Capitol ascribed to her usage, because she felt like she'd be having more and more people through during the waning year of this presidency. She'd sent out invitations to the senior congressional leaders of both parties and now she waited, sat in a large room with a table, for the others to arrive. Pitchers of water with lemon slices had been provided, of course, along wih notepaper and other courtesies. It still left her deeply uneasy though... These were the first steps of placing Congress on a direct constitutional collision course with the Executive Branch in a manner she had wanted desperately to avoid.

Each guest would be admitted by the Speaker's secretary Christian, and she greeted everyone politely, though it was clear the gravity of the situation was weighing on her heavily.

With the majority of Democratic and Republican congressional leaders now present and seated, Caroline leaned forth from where she was sat at the head of the table, looking at everyone with an intense seriousness. It was a glimpse into the kind of woman she was before she got into politics - intensely frank, details-focused, and eminently concerned about principles far higher than her own wandering thoughts.

"You all know the reason for this meeting. It was a long time coming, and so considering the gravity of the situation, we should all be mindful that not only is it incumbent upon us to do something, but there will certainly be a difficult backlash irrespective of whatever we do. We've all been holding back members of our own caucuses from taking their own action, and with how some Senators on both sides are starting to crack, this isn't a can we can kick down the road any further."

Inhaling softly, she chewed her lip for a moment before continuing. "Before we look at what possible avenues we have to explore, I want to ask my Republican friends here if they have had any significant communication with the President, or the Office of the President, over the past three months."

Porter Rally, Lexington, South Carolina

"Citizens of America, I ask you a question. Today, over the skies of God's country, lies a choice that stands above us all. Who to pick to rule and govern this great nation. It is a choice no more paramount to the future of the country than any other. This is an election that is about our children, our children's children and their children too.

The Democrats have worked to wage war on family values, on Christianity and on our way of life. Coastal elites stand at the vanguard of the destruction of the nuclear family, letting homosexuals marry and letting paedophiles molest our children, as a silent genocide of children in the womb occurs through their anti-life policies. We must defend ourselves and our children against the militias and terrorists crossing our border and arriving on our shores. This insanity must end. We will not let them prevail, for we are America, land of duty, patriotism and morality. We will not let terrorists take over our country, nor will we allow the destruction of the family and the destruction of Western Christianity itself to continue.

Our government, our elected officials, they have betrayed us time and time again. Whether it is letting our borders swarm with the soldiers of drug cartels or letting China overtake us globally and ship our jobs off to foreign countries, the Washington swamp has failed us all as Americans. It is time that we stand behind a President, stand behind a government, that is built by the people for the people. We must regain trust in our institutions, in our country, and ensure that the legacy of moral America is protected.

We will not let ourselves be infiltrated, nor will we let ourselves be defeated. We are a great many people in number, and together we can overcome the challenges ahead of us. This election is one of the most important in our lifetimes, as it represents a tipping point in American politics. Shall we let the flag fall and let our colours run? No, I say. No, we will not let our country fall. No, we will resist, we will hold on. This is our country and we will not let it be destroyed from within.

To tell the truth to all of you, the American Dream isn't just a mirage. It is something that we can achieve - yes, it has been stolen from us - but implicit in the slogan Make America Great Again, the one that Wolf run under, is hope. Hope of a better future, hope of a better world. Many of my opponents have accused me of running a campaign on bigotry and hatred - and yet that is not what I am selling. I am selling hope, justice, to the dispossessed American. To the Americans left behind by globalisation and social iconoclastism. We will overcome the liberal establishment, we will overcome the thugs and brutes crossing our borders.

The cornerstone of American society is that of the family, is that of traditional values and is that of Christianity. We have seen liberalism, postmodernism and other related ideologies, spearheaded by a coastal media elite, through the brainwashing and indoctrination of the American youth, whether through false education or through the corrupt propaganda empire of Hollywood, slowly work to overthrow the just American order. I have seen my opponents defend the indefensible - mass infanticide, paedophillia and the slow, deadly march of drugs onto our streets.

It is time that the silent majority, the unheard masses of this nation rise up and take our country back from the postmodernist, liberal elites that have worked to corrupt and seize our institutions from the American people in the name of political correctness and progress. What is progressive about destroying the American family, about assaulting our freedom of speech and about murdering children? If that is what progress is, I am against it. It is time that those masses of Americans, the unheard masses, the silent majority, ought to rise up and take back the country that is theirs. It is in the necessity of history that the people take back the nation that is there. We will not surrender to the subjugation of tyranny upon our nation, and it is in defence of God and country that I stand here today, ready to put America First and end the liberal stranglegrip on this great land. We will ensure that the sacrifices of our armies, across all of history, shall not be in vain, as the values that America has always represented and fought for shall be defended under my Presidency. We must not let fear drive us away from the destiny of our people, but rather we must charge forth, and bring prosperity and justice to this great and mighty land."
