WELCOME TO MILANO!
We're so happy to have you.
ALL THE SONGS (NO OPENING/INTERVAL) — THE LISTENALONG PLAYLIST
Inside the arena, people are beginning to file in, and taking their places. From the front of the stage, there begins to be rows of spectators filling up quickly, surrounded by the congregations of people in the upper seating areas of the arena. As all twenty five thousand people are starting to be in attendance, and behind the scenes, the technical team is preparing for the show to begin. The mood all day had been one of increasing excitement and tension, knowing all the work that had gone on for months prior to the event which was currently about to be taking place in a few minutes. All around the city, the many different buses and train-lines had been packed full of people all day, with both Worldvision fans and the ordinary citizens of Milano, who had been observing the build-up for quite a while now. In truth, there was not one person who was unhappy with the city hosting the contest, in fact, as Twitter will tell you, this contest has truly brought everyone together regardless of the sometimes major differences, for just one evening of pure music and fire from these performers who had come from the far lands of the world and joined together right here.
The executive producer of Worldvision 84, Marc Rimachi, was currently hyping up the audience, as the five minute countdown had begun on the giant LED screen at the back of the stage. He informed them that this would be a very technically intricate show, and encouraged them to interact with each act. For some, he hinted that they should lift their phone flashlights, and help create the perfect atmosphere for the artists, and they already know this. The hardcore fans now knew every song by heart, and many, within their own networks had come up with an idea of which performances they should lift their lights for, which they should get out of their seats and dance like crazy, and even which ones they would end up crying to by the end of the night. The spirit was really all around MICA arena this evening, and as the time slowly ticked away on the countdown behind Marc, there was just sixty seconds left, before the show would begin. As a collective, twenty-five thousand people screamed out each number in amazing anticipation, and as the number finally flashed 0, an explosion of golden confetti fell down, and across all the screens "WELCOME TO MILANO!" appeared in purple. Then everything was black again. On people's screens at home across the world, the Worldvision theme would begin playing alongside the familiar graphics that appeared every contest.
Now, the Worldvision theme had ended and screens all across the world once again faded into darkness before reappearing in a glorious, glistening light, which completely devoured everything in sight. Then as the camera panned down from its top vision, the sun could be seen going off upwards on the screen, and the morning light of Milano was seen, and you could see the huge cathedral in the centre, with rows upon rows of architecture, and people surrounding the entire scene everywhere. It slowly made it's way down to a ground view, as the orchestral arrangement in the back made increased in intensity. As it was on the ground it seemed to move like a normal person, almost walking along, as it would turn occasionally to the side, and you would see the people of the city stop to smile and wave at the camera. Soon though, it would pick up speed, and almost like a timelapse, the greatest views and landmarks of Milano flashed up, before slowly settling down into a bustling street market, in the western area.
As the orchestra faded into nothing, a man is seen strolling up towards the camera - he has a trumpet in his hand. Behind him, a band of people, all rather normal looking and dressed very casually. They all are carrying all different types of instruments, all belonging to the brass family. Suddenly, a funky beat, which appears to come from this congregation of people on the streets in this market, begins to play, and the camera swerves around to the left, and another group of people show off their array of percussion instruments. All this simply displays the cultural and daily integration of music into the city, and this is even more exemplified by the crowds of people who now come and surround the view, all dancing. Mothers with their childrens, and groups of middle-aged men all gathering around to enjoy a familiar arrangement of Besenian street music. A 360 shot of the whole scene simply shows off the tight-knit community of Milano, and especially the commercial corridors of the city, as the several small businesses and markets come together for this moment to soak in this music.
As the final slams of the drum hit, and the streets almost freeze up with happiness, one of the drummers comes and with his hand swipes the camera up with a slap motion, and it cuts back into MICA arena, where a stagnant blue light shines all over the 25,000 people.
I want to party until I see the lights
You wanted something to get by
Baby sometimes, you’ve got to let it all fall
We’re going all the way
Forget yesterday
They’ll never take away
Our life, we are free
Take down the shots, honey ‘cause tonight
We are free, free, free
We are free, free, free
There is no cost for a little love for now
We are free, free, free
We are free.
We are free
Mmm, oh yeah, baby
We are free
I always thought that no-one gave a damn
Oh, I was so right
So now I just do whatever I want
Who’s ‘gon take my pride?
Baby, yeah
Touch up on my body
(We’re going all the way)
If you want a taste
(Forget yesterday)
Just know I’m a little intense
(We’re going all the way)
Have the time of our lives, yeah
Take down the shots, honey ‘cause tonight
We are free, free, free
We are free, free, free
There is no cost for a little love for now
We are free, free, free
We are free.
We are free!
We are free, oh yeah
Rain on me
Rain on me
If the cops come around, we don’t know nobody
We are free
We’ll make ‘em go like real loud, babe
We are free, oh
Drinks up to the sky
I’ll be your lover, only for tonight
We are free, yes baby
Drinks up to the sky
I’ll be your lover, only for tonight
We are free
Take down the shots, honey ‘cause tonight
We are free, free, free
We are free, free, free
There is no cost for a little love for now
We are free, free, free
We are free.
If the cops come around, we don’t know nobody
We are free
We’ll make ‘em go like real loud, babe
We are free.
As Mila and Barbie completed their performance, the lights quickly shifted from the intense purple and pink battle that was previously flying around the arena, and moved into a more neutral blue and white shade, as the dancers and the set pieces were rushed off the stage. To cover up from this, the camera zoomed around and captured the elated faces of several different audience members, before centralising again, as the dance beat kicked in, and across the central walkway of the main stage the two moving pieces at either side cleared way for the performers of each nation to come through. The lights moved more towards the entrance at the very back, and the first artist came forward. The colours of Estana and Thaos flashed all over on every single screen in arena, as BLANK walked upwards on the stage, doing a little dance to the song that was playing. She quickly was moved off down the walkway on the left side though, and as the second performer came onto the stage, she interacted with the audience, reaching out to hold hands with some and rushing to take selfies with others...
