A serious party or a bunch of attention seeking tossers? My guess would be the latter - anyone heard of them before?

The United Kingdom already has an Official Monster Raving Loony Party, who may not be the loonies we deserve, but are at least in a grand tradition of mostly harmless British loonies.

Would Howling Laud Hope, Baron Von Thunderclap, or The Incredible Flying Brick throw paint at the HQs of other parties.

They would not.

I for one stand with the OMRLP in rejecting this latest outbreak of serious looniness, and calling for a return to good old fashioned harmless loony values.

The only way to get back to the golden age of British looniness is to nationalise it.

"Beyond Politics Party" is such a contradiction in terms. It's like saying "beyond fascism fascists"...

And they seem like total wankers, looking at what creepy weirdness they were doing:

Beyond Politics's Twitter feed shows a man dressed as a priest and a woman in a pink T-shirt standing outside Conservative Party HQ in Matthew Parker Street, holding a banner saying: "Treason, Treason, Treason."

But total wankers kind of goes with the political party thing.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

In looking pretty, not in actually running government.
We have no idea what she would do, if anything, if she was in charge.

That being said we do not know that she would be worse than the incompetent circus that is Parliament.

And what advice was that?
Also giving advice does not equal experience. Sure she has been around a long time, has seen stuff and knows stuff, but she has never actually run a government. I mean most people her age probably have seen a lot and like to give advice to younger people and what not, but experience running a government requires actually running a government, something she has not done.

What policies does she even support? How would she implement them? Does she even know? We certainly do not.

I mean given your current circus she might not be worse, but we do not have any reason to believe she would implement the policies you want. Actually she is probably FAR more conservative than you.

There is also the Privy Council, which is made up of current and former politicians, including PMs, memebers of the Shadow Cabinet, the Judiciary from the UK and the devolved countries, not to mention some members from the Commonwealth Realm.
And it has not been too out of the way for the Privy Council to make Orders-In-Council.

Okay sure, but if you are talking about the Privy Council making decisions that is different than Elizabeth making decisions.

She would probably be little more than their puppet. And the Prime Minister largely controls the Privy Council anyways. It basically acts when the PM tells it to act, and the PK chooses who sits on which meetings.

I said she has the experience, experience also requires a ruler to have the best people for the job by them, which is what the Privy council used to be, and sometimes still is.

It is still true to say she has more experience than the current cabinet, having reigned over 14 different UK governments in her lifetime.

-EDIT-
But I am not saying this should happen. I think the UK government takes advantage of the Royal Prerogative too often, and for that reason there should be an independent committee for it.

The Privy Council is basically the PM and cabinet, plus a few other people, who the PM de facto appoints, and the PM determines the composition of the meetings so....
It is basically controlled by the PM. It is not an independent council of the “best people”.

Anyways yes she has experience but an experience of a different sort.
An electrical engineer who has spent 50 years in electrical engineering has experience in electrical engineering, but that does not mean he or she would be a good doctor.

What she does and has experience doing is very different than what the PM does and has experience doing.

We have no idea if she actually knows how to run the country, or run a government, or make good legislation or policy, or do it well and in the way you want.
