The patriotic fishermen of Akasea are the pride of the Civic-Military Union

The People’s Liberation Army of Kergstan and the State Association of Fishermen in the context of the Great Mission ‘’Civic-Military Union’’ have organized an enlistement endeavor who succesfully reached all the fishermen of Akasea Island.
Out of the 1.100.000 invitations 179.000 responded positively.
The plan consists of a ten days long training of those fishermen in signaling, radio use and machine-gun use.
Potentially all the fishermen will be equipped with a PK general-purpose machine gun to be attached to their fishing boats and the role of the fishermen will be that of locating suspect military ships, sharing information with local military units and confronting them under the authorization of the military chiefs.

At the moment only fishermen who have been members of the military in the past or those who are part of the reserve force have been subjected to a refresher training and only some of them have received the PK machine guns which now are 108.

Already strained relations between Drongonia and China were further tested yesterday when Prime Minister Bill English announced that the Drongonian Government would officially be participating in an international condemnation of China's actions regarding Hong Kong. This official announcement follows similar condemnation from New Caporia, Cancolastan, Australia and Norcott.

The move has gained rare cross-party support within the Drongonian Parliament, with the Labour Party penning a statement this morning affirming their stance against China's human rights abuses and mistreatment of Hong Kong citizens. The motion to officially condemn China passed through parliament completely unopposed, reaching its Parliamentary Assent stage with 120 votes for and zero against.

This condemnation ignited a fresh tirade of abuse from the Chinese Government, with the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian saying in his regular Monday press conference that "Drongonia needs to stop meddling in China's affairs" and that "if Drongonia doesn't stop trying to interfere, we will have to take action and show them what it means to truly interfere in another country". When pressed further by RT reporter Ivan Milokolov, Lijian said that "...the potential exists for conflict between us and them [Drongonia], and the world will see where unwanted meddling gets them", before moving onto another topic.

In response, Foreign Minister Sam Gilroy issued a statement suggesting that any Chinese attempt to attack Drongonia would be quashed. "China will not be engaging in any interference with Drongonia or our partners, and we have both the economic and military strength to ensure this remains the case."

Controversial flag burning law passes with slim majority

Parliament was ablaze with enthusiastic and at times bitter debate today, as the final reading and voting on the proposed "Flags, Emblems and Names Protection Act 2020" took place. Members from both sides debated on amendments to and the validity of the proposed act from the beginning of parliament's proceedings at 9am this morning, until ending discussion on the Act with a vote which took place at 4:46pm.

Pundits from all areas of the political spectrum seemed to be unsure of what to make of the affair, although most agreed that the result would be a close run thing. In true close-run style, the legislation passed through parliament with a 61-59 majority, with members of both major parties crossing the floor to vote in step with their opponents.

The sentiment of those voting in favour of the Act was one of national pride and protecting the flag which veterans had fought for in wars past. Critics of the Act argued that it was a violation of free speech and freedom of expression, meaning it was incompatible with both the Bill of Rights and the underlying Drongonian ideals of freedom and prosperity. The Act also bans the defacement of designated place names, official ensigns or flags of the Government or Defence Force, and/or official seals such as that of the Government or a Government Ministry or department.

Drongonia is far from the only country in the region to ban the practice of flag burning, with New Zealand's identically-named 1981 Flags, Emblems, and Names Protection Act outlawing flag burning with the purpose of defacement - with the act usually punishable by fines or community service. Cancolastan and Norcott have also outlawed burning the national flag, with penalties in Norcott including prison time. On a different note, Australia and New Caporia have not banned the practice, although in New Caporia the act of burning a flag can be used as evidence in a case against individuals charged with other offences.

Nyborg's team is likely trying to stop her party's downward trend in state elections in 2021, the midpoint of her presidency. Many polls show her NDP losing support to a resurgent Social Democratic Party and a rising Green alliance. Current polls put the NDP at 34% (-5), Conservatives on 32% (+1), Social Dems on 24% (+4), and the Greens on 10% (+1). Her party raised $6.5 million showing she will likely keep her powerful fundraising machine into the next couple of elections.

After months of unwarranted provocation from the People's Republic of China, the Drongonian Government has officially began its campaign to remove People's Liberation Navy vessels from the South Pacific Ocean. Following many attempts at diplomacy by the Drongonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the mentally deficient officials of the Chinese government stopped answering Drongonian correspondence, a senior insider reported.

The campaign is a joint operation between the Navies and Air Forces of Drongonia, New Caporia, the United States, New Zealand and Cancolastan. Norcott has offered its logistical assistance as well as safe passage via its waters. Indonesia has also expressed their desire to co-operate with the alliance. As China has no noteworthy allies, they will be facing the alliance alone.

The deployment is expected to consist of multiple squadrons of US-produced F35-A fighter jets, as well as a wide array of bombers, reconnaissance aircraft and unmanned drones. On the naval front, many nations are contributing frigate fleets, as well as an array of nuclear submarines.

Independent military experts have concluded that the likelihood of the Drongonian-led alliance removing China's ships from the area is almost one hundred percent guaranteed. It is expected that the flimsy Chinese vessels will crumble very quickly under the weight of Drongonian steel. Independent analysts have also noted the quality of the People's Liberation Army's soldiers is significantly lower than that of even the least well-equipped soldiers of the alliance. One expert in particular noted that the very scant rations made available by the People's Liberation Army are barely enough to sustain a small child, let alone an elite fighting soldier.

The cost of the deployment has been estimated at a maximum of $4 billion, making this Drongonia's largest ever military expenditure. The Chinese Ministry of State Security released a statement in retaliation, stating that "If this alliance of misfits even so much as sneezes on a Chinese ship, they will be recklessly risking a war the likes the world has never seen before." Drongonian Minister of Defence, Scott Morris, responded by simply saying "Bring it on."

Over 150,000 personnel are expected to be involved in the campaign, which is scheduled to last for the next three months.

Cancolastan has opened fire on the Chinese ship Xiamen (厦门) after the vessel was spotted in Cancolastani Waters, after an increase of tensions between the Anglosphere and China. The Chief of Navy, Terry Davis recently confirmed in a press conference that the Cancolastani Navy had attacked a Chinese Vessel, that was assumed to be heading towards Hobart as a show of force from the CCP.

"Fuck around and find out" states the Chief in his press release "If these bastards wish to come into our waters, we will put them down by any means necessary, and the sailors onboard any vessel deemed Illegal will be shot on sight, with no exceptions" Beijing released a statement, claiming that Cancolastan are "Vile animals that should be terminated" and that China will vow to "Turn Cancolastan into a crater"

With the assistance of New Caporia, Drongonia, The United States and New Zealand, it is uncertain that China will hold up to their threats, as Cancolastan, New Caporia, Drongonia and the United States also have their own Nuclear warheads

Prime Minister Bill English performed the ceremonial duty of officially declaring the 2020 General Election Act 2020 as being in force, cementing this year's date of November 4th for the 2020 Drongonian General Election. November 4th (or Drongonia Day) has traditionally been the de facto election date since its declaration as the nation's independence day by parliament in 1951.

The 2020 General Election Act 2020 has remained largely identical to the 2016 version of the Act, save for the date being changed from 2016 to 2020. A new clause has been added governing political donations, however. Candidates may not receive donations from overseas worth more than $10,000 - and any donation over the amount of $1,000 may not be anonymously donated.

In the latest FUX PolitiPoll, the National Party currently holds over 50 percent of the vote alone, meaning that the Prime Minister and his party are going into this election firmly in the driver's seat.

The revelation has shocked the nation and the logistics sphere of the business world. Labour Party officially backs cannabis legalisation policy

The Labour Party has revealed the first, and potentially one of its most controversial, policies for the upcoming election. Labour leader Sarah Ellice spoke at the annual Dunedin Cannabis Legalisation Association meeting today, promising to back the cause and announcing that Labour would officially adopt the policy should they win the election this November. Specific details on the policy are scant for now, but are expected to be released in Labour's manifesto, which is set to be released in the coming months.

Cannabis legalisation is a contentious issue in Drongonia, with the public considered to be quite split on the issue. The latest FUX News poll conducted regarding the subject (November 2019) showed that 39% of the public supported the legalisation of cannabis, 40% were against it, and the rest (21%) weren't sure. Among the Labour base, internal polling leaked to TVDG yesterday suggests that a healthy 85% of their regular voters support the legalisation of cannabis.

When asked, Prime Minister Bill English reaffirmed National's stance on cannabis, saying that the party does support the usage and further development of medicinal cannabis, but that legalising cannabis for recreational use would be completely out of the question. "We don't want to see our nation's progress clouded by the haze of pot smoke", English was quoted as saying.

In March, the Ministry of Justice reported that there were over 30,000 convictions for cannabis-related offences between 2018 and 2019. Labour leader Sarah Ellice labels this as a waste of the justice system's time, saying "the justice system should be fast-tracking the prosecution of people who pose a real threat to our communities, not charging a group of teenagers because they wanted to get high on a Friday night." Bill English disagrees, saying that "it's all well and good to say these people aren't doing any harm, but what's to stop them getting behind the wheel of a car and causing an accident, and god forbid they kill someone, it spirals out of control pretty quickly."

The policy announcement likely comes on the heels of New Zealand's upcoming cannabis legalisation referendum, which coincides with this year's election. Ellice also stated that "we would follow New Zealand's lead... the Act would be drafted by us [Labour] and be put forward to the public to vote on after the election, there's too much interest to make the decision in parliament." National has stated they are against such a referendum.

Nigerian migrant deported after deadly attack on Dunedin taxi driver

On the evening of January 24, Nigerian migrant Mthele Ubuktu entered the taxi of 50 year old taxi driver Sundeep Patel with what prosecutors say was the intention of getting a free ride back to Ubuktu's home in the south of Dunedin. At approximately 9:15pm, Patel's taxi left the Central Nelson night markets, headed for Throndon. Security footage retrieved from the taxi shows that upon arriving at Ubuktu's home, he attempted to exit the taxi without paying. As a result, Patel locked the doors of the taxi and demanded payment from Ubuktu. In response, a scuffle ensued which would end Patel's life.

Footage shows that after Ubuktu tried to exit the taxi via the front passenger's door, and Patel attempting to grab for Ubuktu's wallet, Ubuktu pulled a knife out from his belt and began savagely stabbing Patel. The court heard medical testimony which suggested that Patel suffered 23 stab wounds, allowing the prosecution to escalate the charges from manslaughter to murder. Security camera footage from a nearby corner shop suggests that Ubuktu then exited the taxi and entered his home, leaving Patel in his taxi.

Ubuktu migrated to Drongonia from Nigeria in late 2017 and has since been arrested and charged four times, with the arrests comprising of three assault charges and one charge of minor sexual assault against a police officer. Ubuktu was warned during his last hearing in early 2019 that any further offences could result in his deportation.

During the sentencing hearing, Justice David Fray of the Dunedin District Court told Ubuktu that "...you [Ubuktu] represent the very reason that deportation exists. It is evident to me that you have failed to learn from your previous mistakes and will likely continue to offend for as long as you are given the opportunity. It also bears consideration that you extinguished someone who shared a common trait with you, but was the polar opposite. Mr. Patel came to Drongonia to pursue a better life for both himself and his family, and you have sought to do the exact opposite, creating a nuisance and contributing to a lower standard of safety for those around you."

Justice Fray ruled that Ubuktu's immediate deportation to Nigeria was appropriate as "Drongonia should not be spending a cent more on you". It is understood that the Government of Nigeria has accepted responsibility for Ubuktu's custody and will cover the costs of transporting him back to Nigeria. Nigerian officials in Christchurch have also released a statement affirming that he would be tried in Nigeria and likely sentenced to death if found guilty.

Labour continues rise in latest FUX News PolitiPoll - Nats, Greens, Conservatives fall

FUX News' monthly PolitiPoll likely came as no surprise to National voters last night as it saw their party maintain its commanding lead over Labour. However, Labour's continued improvement has left both potential voters and critics alike impressed.

National's support decreased slightly from 53.2% in the last poll to its current 52.5% rating, with political commentators saying the decrease likely came entirely from the Labour Party who also gained support from the Green Party. This comes as the party's planned vote of no confidence in leader Dianne Fitzgerald failed at the last hurdle, leaving the party with a leader they aren't entirely behind.

In a likely post-election coalition scenario based on the latest figures, the right-wing bloc comprised of National, People's Front and Conservative would make up a staggering 59.4% of the vote, with the Labour-Green coalition only potentially gathering 40.6%, which is seen by commentators as not a bad figure for an opposition, but nowhere near forming a tenable government. There has been speculation, however, that National may rule out working with the far-right People's Front as it seeks to maintain its mainstream centre-right appeal. This would leave National much closer to the edge of a majority, with the Conservatives potentially not making into parliament at all.

Equating these figures into seats in parliament, National would hold 63 seats with Labour on 47. In the minor leagues, People's Front would gain 6 seats, with the Greens and Conservatives both languishing on 2. This would effectively allow National to pass any legislation completely unhindered, assuming every MP voted along party lines. In relation to the current makeup of parliament, this result would see National gaining nine seats as well as the aforementioned parliamentary majority. Labour would lose five seats, and People's Front would gain five. The traditional minor parties will see these results as absolutely devastating, with the Conservative Party losing six of its eight seats, and the Greens losing five of its seven. Worse still for the Libertarian Movement, they would be kicked out of parliament entirely.

In the preferred Prime Minister section of the poll, things were much more predictable as Prime Minister English's universally-praised handling of the current Drongonia-China conflict translated to minimal movement in the 2-person ratings. Both the Labour Party and Sarah Ellice herself will likely be pleased with the small gain of 0.4%, proving once again that Ellice's likeability is not tied to her party's relatively modest performance. On the other hand, it is widely considered that Prime Minister English is much more associated with the goings on of the National Party and its MPs, which ties his popularity to the party on a much greater level.

The clear long-term winner in this poll is the Labour Party, with this poll proving that they can continually improve their support, provided they have a strong message and a galvanised caucus.

Bombings Erupt in Barakhazi

The streets of Barakhazi erupted in flames late last evening when two cars exploded near Port Sinna. At least 50 people were injured and unconfirmed reports indicate that a dozen or so were killed. Several buildings near the port faced serious structural damage, while two stores were completely destroyed. As of this time, senior officials have not yet determined who initiated the attacks, but at 04:15 this morning OSIS Kommisar Peter Ilyankovich gave a statement:

We strongly urge citizens to maintain caution when leaving their homes at night. Dissidents across the country have attempted to undermine the safety of our peoples, and we, the members of the OSIS,
will not allow further aggression to occur. We are currently investigating to find the perpetrators of
the attack, and we will rest at nothing to bring justice.

Following these statements, a curfew was implemented in the city, as Red Army troops entered the main square and began to scour nearby areas. It is advised by Komidant Hjalmar Urzutkilsik that citizens comply with orders until martial law is lifted. Such measures have been justified by the Varenskjyrian State of Emergency orders, which
have been in effect since 1955.

The bombings come at a time when Red Army and VIAD forces have managed strong pushes in Yanubia. Last Wednesday, the 5th Abkhar Division of the 3rd Red Army successfully captured the villages of Sjarov, Pesk, and Muzukhar, and began preparations to invade the Yanubian city of Itruminsky. At the same time, VIAD units conducted counterinsurgency tactics in the surrounding area, capturing 3 hideouts of the Islamic Independence Party and 2 hideouts of Jaysh Thawrar al-Kalkenislund.

Following the resurgence of the deadly COVID-19 virus in New Zealand, the Drongonian Government has made the decision to completely close the Drongonia-New Zealand border in Nelson. Previously, any Drongonian citizens returning home from New Zealand were able to re-enter Drongonia via this border, as well as those granted special dispensation by the Drongonian Ministry of Health.

New Zealand is now facing a total of 48 active COVID-19 cases, with 13 of these popping up within the last 24 hours. In response, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has heightened the lockdown "alert level" for all of New Zealand to Level 2, and Level 3 within the nation's largest city, Auckland.

Drongonia has yet to see another case of COVID-19, since the final infected individual recovered. According to the Drongonian Ministry of Health, no new cases have been detected at the border or within the community since April 16, 2020. Minister of Health Leah Driver said that her Ministry's goal was to "keep Drongonia COVID-free, rather than to send us into an endless spiral of detrimental lockdowns". Prime Minister Bill English repeated the sentiment during an appearance on TVDG's Breakfast this morning, saying "New Zealand's strategy has been to aggressively stop COVID spreading in the community, whereas ours is one of aggressively preventing its entry into Drongonia."

The announcement of the border closure means that Drongonian citizens currently in New Zealand will not be able to re-enter Drongonia until further notice, and that there will be no special exemptions handed out for individuals on the grounds of family or employment. The Ministry of Immigration is also advising Drongonians to be mindful if they decide to leave the country. Flights out of Drongonia are running as usual, but they will not be able to return if they leave the country and travel to any nation which has active COVID-19 cases, regardless of their citizenship or visa requirements.

Also included in this final border shutdown are scheduled Drongonian deportees coming from New Zealand. It is understood that the New Zealand Ministry of Justice and Corrections New Zealand will take those individuals into their care until a further decision is made by the Drongonian government.

New Government and Sports Sports Desk The Springmont 2020 General Election has been completed, the leadership and cabinet have been formed. Once again THE FREEDOM ALLIED was chosen as the winner by the people to govern for a term (two years). Despite experiencing a 1% -2% drop in votes to opponents, they still gained a 2/3 majority. They control 139 seats out of 240 parliamentary seats. The most significant decline in the ruling coalition was to the Union of City-States party, they lost nearly 13 seats compare to the 2018 elections. Among their top leaders who lost were Jeffry McOlin, Home Minister; Dr. Julia Herinworth, Deputy Minister of Health; Gerald McNeer, Deputy Minister of Education and Pam Tillerbugh, Deputy Minister of Finance. However, their party remains the main party because it won the most seats among the coalition of government parties. The Union of City-States won 49 seats, followed by the Brotherhood of Domains with 46 seats, an increase of 21 seats and a Parliamentary Collective with 44 seats, declining 10 seats from the last election. Therefore, the Head of the Union of City-States Party, Dr. Moises Tullar, MP was once again appointed President of Springmont for the term 2020-2022. Chairman of the Brotherhood Party of Domains, Dr. Isaac Coveburgh, MP was appointed Vice President, and former Vice President, General (ret.) Rubin Ilacqua, MP from the Parliamentary Collective Party was appointed Vice Speaker of Parliament for Chapter XXXII. Jeniffer Colbert, MP from the Union of City-States was re-appointed Speaker of Parliament for a second term. From a sports standpoint, positively, this coalition of ruling parties is very keen on sports development, it is evidenced by the resumption of national athletes participating in international sports tournaments, starting with the participation of tennis athletes in the NationStates Tennis Tour Clay Court season 6, then the under-18 football team at the Under 18 World Championship (SWC 11) at the Commonwealth of Baker Park. Springmont has also announced sending their athletes to compete in the XIV Olympiad / 14th Summer Olympics. Their senior team is preparing for the championship of the CMFA Malay Archipelago Cup 5, where another history will be created when Springmont and Havynwilde bid to co-host. Things that have never happened before. Varenskjyrian Red Army captures Stuka after new military equipment

Within hours of securing new arms from bilateral negotiations with the People's Republic of Balgariia, General Shahruz Yılmaz initiated Operation White Wolf. Four mechanized units and a tank unit were sent to the Tartashian border. These divisions were fitted with newly acquired vehicles, including BMP-1 IFVs and a dozen T-55AM2 tanks. Once Operation White Wolf was initiated at 18:13, the divisions encircled the farmlands and villages of the Stukakovsky region. By 18:54, five villages were taken and the Adıvar Valley was completely secure. Reports from soldiers on the front indicate that resistance by Tartashian Blood Brigade units was relatively light. However, three casualties were taken by the 12th Hawk Mechanized Infantry when a SVIED by the Abu Musa Brigade exploded on the outskirts of the city of Stuka.

At 19:32, these five units encircled the city of Stuka while the 33rd Uzumir Field Artillery began to strike down on the city. Several Longbow Towed Howitzers were involved, and reports indicate that enemey resistance was sharply curbed by the artillery strikes. At 19:53, the five units began to push onto the city, with the 24th Hawk Mechanized Infantry using the Obormir River for cover. The flanking movements were successful, and after an hour of sporadic resistance, the Varenskjyrian Red Army was able to push most of the Tartashian defenders to the city hall, where they surrendered. Senior Kommodant Hisham il-Guriky reported that at least 30 fighters were taken as prisoners.

Operation White Wolf's success comes shortly after bombs erupted in the major port city of Barakhazi. While it is still uncertain as to who perpetrated those attacks, Hisham il-Guriky is confident that today's showing will help galvanize the people. At 21:02, Hisham il-Guriky told the Peoples' Daily that: "This was a necessary victory against separatism and has shown, once more, the willingness of the illegitimate Tartashian regime in collaborating with violent extremists. Victories in Yanubia earlier last week, as well as our own successful operation, have shown the resolve we, the Varenskjyrian Armed Forces, have to completely win this war and reunite our glorious country. And so, we march on."

Reports from VIAD indicate that with the new arms from Balgariia and with potentially new deals to come, a renewed offensive against Daqistan is likely to come, after nearly half a decade of low-level conflict in the area. In the meanwhile, ongoing pushes in Yanubia and Tartashia will occupy much of the activity of the Varenskjyrian Armed Forces and associated militias. Meanwhile, counterinsurgency efforts will continue to be conducted in Kalkenislund and Beyzaghlik, as well as the continued martial law in key cities like Barakhazi.

Balna-Mitsubishi launches updated Galant GA5 Heixian


Balna and Mitsubishi's joint venture, Balna-Mitsubishi Automotive have launched the updated and facelifted Galant G5 Heixian.

Offered only as a saloon or estate, this 37-year-old design is now modernized, and softer in styling than its 1983 predecessor.

Since 1989, it's been a consistently popular seller, competing with the Huimao-Ford Cortina,

Engine choices are limited to a 1.6-litre/125hp 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre/150hp 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre/205hp V6 and 3.0-litre/248hp V6 petrol engines (Balna's fork of a Mitsubishi engine design), although a new diesel is set to arrive soon; those that want the diesel engines will have to go for the older Galant GA45 Heixian model which runs concurrently.

Trim level choices are GL, GLS, Sport, Super, GT, SE and Executive and GLS Family for estates.

The Family version is an extended-length estate/stationwagon model, and offered only with the 2.0-litre/150hp 4-cylinder engine.

With this new model, the range has been streamlined, cutting the 1600 engine from the Sport and GSR models, discontinuing the 1.8 and 1.8 turbo engines, and the Executive trim is limited to only the 2.0 petrol and the two V6 engines with automatic transmission.

Four-wheel-drive is restricted solely to the 2.0 SE, 2.0 V6 Executive and 3.0 V6 Executive models; the 2000 GLS AWD and 2000 Super AWD have been discontinued due to slow sales. The AWD models can only be specified with automatic transmission as manual sales were 6% of total sales for the AWD model.

GT trim is now reduced only to a four-door saloon with the 2.0-litre/140hp 4-cylinder petrol and the optional GT Aero and GT Luxline packages discontinued; the color palette is down to red, black and white, with silver, yellow and green removed from the options.

Celsan updates the CM5/Haian sedan for 2020

Celsan have updated for 2020 their mid-size sedan, the CM5 (Haian CM5 in China) in West Bromwich Holme.

A clone of the Chevrolet Malibu, it gets a new grille, and updated engines for 2020 until the new car launches in 2021.

The entry-level 1.8-litre/122bhp 4-cylinder continues unchanged, but last year's 2.0-liter/205bhp engine gets an upgrade to a 2.0-litre/215hp 4-cylinder turbo, and the 2.0-liter/260hp 4-cylinder turbo is uprated to a 2.0-liter/280hp 4-cylinder turbo. The top-of-the-line 3.0-liter/260hp V6 model gets upgraded to a 3.0-liter/295hp V6.

But the biggest news is not one, but three new engines - a 3.0-liter/325hp V6 twin-turbo joins the range, replacing the previous 2.8-liter/300hp V6 twin-turbo model; and for those seeking economy, the 2.4-liter/190hp 4-cylinder hybrid is replaced by a new 2.5-liter/225hp 4-cylinder hybrid, which is available in mild hybrid or plug-in forms, with mH for mild hybrid and Plug-In branding.

The range has been realigned, with L, LS, GLS, SE, GT and Premium trim levels available; the twin-turbo model comes in the standalone RSV model. Hybrid can be specified with SE and Premium spec in addition to Hybrid trim.
