The typical Europan soldier closely resembles his (alternate universe) Britannian counterpart in terms of appearance. The Europan soldier is usually a college-age student or graduate (in terms of average age), and he or she serves as the backbone of the Empire's ground forces. As expected of soldiers from any first-rate industrialized army, Europan troops are well equipped, adequately trained, and reinforced with "just the right amount" of ideological education (and fanaticism).

In battle, the Europan soldier is armed with the trusty H&K G12 assault carbine (or long assault rifle), a further development from the famous G11 rifle that served the Empire's armies in decades past. Capable of firing 6mm sabots / bullets at speeds of up to 1200 m/s and issued with standard 50-round magazines, the G12 is but one showcase of Imperial scientific prowess (according to its designers). The weapon operates under a coil-system powered by a schrabidium battery, setting it aside from older powder-based weapons.

Imperial combat armor is considered some of the finest in the world (though this claim was seriously challenged by the *Armored Assault Troops of the North American Union) and incorporates both advanced materials and electronics into its design. The carbon-composite body-plates used by the Empire are capable of resisting high caliber rifle (7.62mm) ammunition quite effectively and likewise provide protection against bladed weapons. This is further bolstered by a kevlar-reinforced jump suit worn beneath, which helps absorb damage from blunt trauma and adds a second layer of kinetic protection (albeit not nearly as effective as the plates).
