We are looking for nations with strong and stable democratic public institutions; good human rights; environmental protections and free market economies who might be interested to form a close political and economic union with Laliga.

The confederation will be a political and economic union envisioned to be like the real life European Union. Exact powers of the member nations will be determined by treaty.

Depending on the responses, I am looking at a starting ckre of four to seven members nations who can dedicate their time to this confederation project.

Hi! Thank you for your interest! The plan is to gather a small but active core of member nations to form a confederacy/supranational entity similar to the real life EU. The fundamental charter/document will then be drafted to set out the parameters of the political and economic system.

I plan to propose a single common market for the confederation, as well as free movement of persons, goods and services, hence the requirement that member nations be relatively stable, democratic and economically developed or at least progressive nations.

I should note that I opted for a confederation-style form of government, because I want the players/member nations to retain some control over key policy determinations, like foreign affairs and defense. That is of course without prejudice to a common foreign and or defense policy which the member nations will agree to pursue collectively.
