Civilian maritime travel to Osea is to be restricted. Any ships of the kind residing in Osean since the outbreak of the conflict must be escorted back to Folaisian waters.

I could say and have agreed with my counterpart in the Navy that Operation Storm Dragon was, mostly, a success. The strikes in Osea proceeded as planned and we were able to strike all intended targets, however, we did not manage to surprise the Eruseans as expected. Rather, they surprised us with their advanced air defense network. Casualties for Operation Storm Dragon are moderate. Out of a force of 700 planes, a seventh did not make it back to base (80 fighters, 15 bombers, 3 tankers, 2 AWACS), and another 200 planes suffered damage, but remain in repairable condition. Thus, I would advise cancelling the bombings of Erusea and Nacrad. Nonetheless, I counsel for continuing the air and missile strikes on Osea under the guise of Operation Storm Dragon, but instead of sending large disorganized groups of aircraft, send small, ordered squadrons to carry out the strikes in Osea. As for Erusea and Nacrad, we can use the other, asymmetrical, approach involving the Army, Navy, and MID, as decided by our grand strategy.

At a Langenien naval base, Langenien National Army, Langenien Revolutionary Navy, and MID special forces of the Army's Special Commando Regiment, Republican Guard, the Navy's Naval Reconnaissance Commando (NRT) Team 13, and the MID's Special Forces of the Military Intelligence Directorate (MID) of the General Staff Bureau of the Langenien Revolutionary Armed Forces are assembled, ready to board a flotilla of attack submarines, which are loaded with midget submarines. Once everyone is onboard, the flotilla sets sail. Once at sea, the flotilla splits up to maintain stealth but maintains contact with each other. Nearing Erusian and Nacradian waters, the special forces board the midget subs and split up from the attack submarines, which return to base. Their destination: Erusea and Nacrad.

Case Blue is the overall stratgeic operation against the United Osean States. Case Blue will be subdivided into 3 phases: Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3. The purpose of Case Blue is to damage the power projection capabilities of the UOS by projecting power into their vicinity and ultimately to open a second front.

The objective of Phases 1 and 2 are to put German troops in the proximity of the UOS by exploiting the weakness of most of the nearby states, especially the demilitarized state of Belka, which notably is known to have lingering nationalist and irredentist sentiments. Phase 1 will aim to secure Belka, while Phase 2 will seek to overcome some of the neighboring states. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 are part of a contiguous military operation, Operation Sea Lion.

Operation Sea Lion entails a seaborne and airborne landing in Belka to occupy it and establish a nationalist-revanchist government after the conclusion of Phase 1 military operations. After the occupation of Belka, German forces will move on to seize Gebet, Recta, Ratio, Ustio and Sapin, and merge these territories with the German-installed Belkan government, except Sapin, or which only the northwestern part will be administered as Belkan. The remainder of Sapin will administered by a native German-installed puppet government, with the monarchy retained. For that reason the occupation government of Sapin will be in the form of a regency. The Belkan government will be allowed to raise armies, and recruitment of Belkans into the German Army is encouraged.

Phase 3 is the invasion of the United Osean States itself, from the territory of the occupied neighboring states. All Phase 3 German military operations will fall under Operation Barbarossa.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

For Operation Sea Lion, at least 8 marine divisions are estimated to be required to control Belka and to push into the neighboring states. A second wave of 8 armored and mechanized formations would be send immediately after the first wave, and a third wave of 6 airborne divisions to be transported by ship to serve as light infantry, will be sent immediately after Phase 1 operations commense to hasten Phase 2 operations.

Strategic bombing of Belka is is to be avoided, however SEAD and strategic bombing efforts against Gebet, Rectia, Ratio, Ustio and Sapin are necessary as part of shaping operations. Naval forces will nonetheless be required to escort the amphibious force headed towards Belka.

Upon the conclusion of Phase 1 operations, Joyean airbrone forces in the Lake Harwood area must break out and fall back to presumably "neutral" German-occupied Belka, if possible. Their leadership will be advised accordingly through secret channels.

The worst-case scenario for Operation Barbarossa calls for 85 divisions. While this upper estimate may or may not accurately correspond to reality, mobilization of the reserves must begin as early as possible, to ensure a steady stream of replacements for casualties on the front. However, the resulting 22-division force after Operation Sea Lion plausibly suffices for Operation Barbarossa and any increase in ground force strength will most probbably come from allied forces.

It is imperative that no declarations of war, or provocations for such, be made against the UOS or any sympathetic state, until Phase 2 is complete. This is to maintain the facade of neutrality for as long as possible and allow for preparations to be made. After the declaration of war, German offensive actions will solely be aimed at the UOS.

A member of the Peoples Revolutionary Army of Joyea Intelligence Command by the name of Mikhail Nikitin recently defected to the United Osean States. The Joyean State Security Service have begun attempting to find information on how he defected and where he is now. He had access to top secret information. Mikhail had a record as one of the best military intelligence agents but he was suspected to be giving information to Osea since 2002.

Somewhere over the ocean, a group of four Langenien Mig-29Ks from a Langenien Revolutionary Navy fleet carrier are conducting combat air patrol duties. An AWACS informs them of a group of four Osean F/A 18 Hornets close by. They move to intercept the Hornets. Once they have them in sight, they noticed missiles streaking towards them. They returned fire at the Oseans with their own missiles. Meanwhile, the AWACS plane had located an Osean P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol plane and had more Mig-29K fighters intercept it. An air battle had begun.

The first German convoy headed for Belka just left port, carrying the men and materiél of the first group of German forces slated to arrive in Belka, and escorted by the German naval force that would be permanently stationed in Belka for the duration of the war. Their mission - to break the chains of the Treaty of Lumen that were shackling Belka and open up a second front against Osea without going through the trouble of fighting the Osean Navy for now. Along with the massive convoy was a fleet of aircraft, the first airlifters of the German air bridge to Belka carrying men and supplies, escorted by the fighters that would be operating out of Belka.

Even as the first fleet were departing, the men and the supplies of the second convoy, carrying not only the second wave of forces but also even more supplies for Operation Barbarossa and possibly the renewed Belkan army, were being prepared and loaded on the ships still on the docks.

A suspiciously large amount of troops from the 1st Belkan Brigade are taking leave or resigning their commissions. Oddly, Erusean High Command does not stop them.
Many of these are returning to Belka or have plans to do so- including convicted war criminals and terrorists from South Belka accused of planning and orchestrating attacks against Osean troops in South Belka.

Off of Erusea
A great flotilla was gathering. Numerous warships of the Royal Erusean Navy, shepherding logistical and landing ships. Within them were contained two brigades- the 1st Marine Regimental Combat Group, and the I. Carabiniers-à-Cheval d'Farbanti Regimental Combat Group. Both were elite units of the Erusean Army; the former a naval infantry unit, the latter a mechanized infantry battalion.
The entire group began to steam to Osea, where they would disembark the troops at Sapain and march to Osea from there. The warships would link up with the Erusean vessels already present in Oured Bay.

Meanwhile, Squadron A of the Guards Tactical Aviation Wing would start a long journey towards McNeilly AFB. Upon entering Osean Airspace, they would identify themselves, and explain their purpose for arrival; they were here to assist Osea against Joyea and Langenia.

Imperial Germany was notably absent.

Undisclosed location between Erusea and Langenia:

The Uinen-class submarines were some of the newest vessels in the Mitheldalondian Navy. Designed to combat modern nuclear and AIP-equipped diesel-electric subs, they were highly advanced boats, and were easily among the stealthiest submarines ever constructed.

A few minutes ago, Uinen – the lead vessel of her class – had picked up four contacts to starboard on passive sonar, which had been tentatively identified as Langenian attack submarines. Her captain had immediately put his vessel into ultra-quiet running to maximize stealth. Orders were to sink any Langenian submarines encountered, but the rules of engagement required a high level of certainty as to their identity before any weapons could be employed.

“Conn, sonar,” came the whispered report from Uinen’s sonar room. “Course confirmed: Sierras 1 through 4. Contacts are moving away from Erusea.”

That was interesting, the captain thought. He would have expected to find Langenian boats moving towards Erusea. That these were moving away suggested either that they had been on a specific mission, and were heading home following its completion, or possibly that the subs were not Langenian at all. “Are they still reading as Langenian?” he queried sonar.

“Yes, sir,” came the hushed reply. “75% solution.”

The captain gave a slight grimace. 75% wasn’t nearly good enough. “Keep me informed.”

A minute ticked by in silence. On the tactical plot in Uinen’s control room, the blips indicating the other subs inched closer and closer. They were now a mere few thousand yards away and closing. Then, finally, the silence was shattered by a quiet report. “Conn, sonar. Solution at 97%. All contacts confirmed hostile. They’re definitely Langenian, sir.”

The captain sighed in relief, releasing the breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. “Firing point procedures, Mk 48 torpedoes,” he ordered quietly. “Sierra 1: tube 3, Sierra 2: tube 4, Sierra 3: tube 5, Sierra 4: tube 6.” There was a subdued flurry of silent activity, as all stations made ready to fire torpedoes.

“Solutions ready,” came from nearby in the control room.

“Ship ready,” the captain confirmed.

“Weapons ready,” from the torpedo room.

“Shoot tubes 3 through 6,” directed the captain.

“Tube 3: shoot!
“Tube 4: shoot!
“Tube 5: shoot!
“Tube 6: shoot!”

Most submarines used a high-powered blast of water to eject weapons through their torpedo tubes. It was a distinctive and noisy procedure that, at such close range, would have given them away immediately. Uinen however, used larger diameter torpedo tubes to enable her torpedoes to swim out of the tubes under their own power, thus eliminating the noisy launch transient and adding to her overall stealth. The four torpedoes sped forward for about a kilometer before turning to starboard to engage their targets. This ensured that any torpedoes the Langenian subs fired back along the path of Uinen’s weapons would be unlikely to endanger the Mitheldalondian sub.

“Ready MOSS, tube 2,” the captain ordered. He wanted the MOSS decoy ready to fire if it was needed to draw the Langenians away from the true location of the Mitheldalondian boat. It wouldn’t be long before the Langenian subs detected the incoming torpedoes, and then all manner of chaos would break loose.

Port of Dunkeld, Auchmablair, Folaisia

Two freighters leave their piers as they begin to embark upon their journey to the Osean port city of St. Hewlett. Along their way, they are met with an escort fleet of 4 cruisers, 10 destroyers and 6 submarines, courtesy of the Navy. With these, the crews of the freighters pray that they can travel forward and back without a scratch. Even though the fleet was a given assurance that protection will be applied, they are afraid that one or more of them will die when reaching Osea and back to Folaisia. But, despite their apprehensions, they are willing to carry out their job to their utmost, beginning at the Ceres Ocean.

Sand Island, Osea

A cruise ship named the Terpsichore had been stranded for days since the war began. With Langenian submarine warfare keeping them constrained, the passengers and crew had no choice but to stay in the derelict airbase. Occasionally, they would set themselves ashore to any recreational activities that they could think of, or just take some time outside the vessel. However, they desire to return back home where no war has occurred. Yet, at least.

Eventually, to their relief and happiness, 2 cruisers, 4 destroyers and 2 submarines are to split off from their main escort force to meet up with them.

To the Government of the Kingdom of Mitheldalond,

Due to the fact that Mitheldalond has willingly issued orders to take the lives of Langenien submariners to its navy, we can no longer maintain relations. Mitheldalond is now considered by Langenia an active combatant in the Osean-Joyean conflict and added to the list of nations that will have unrestricted submarine warfare practiced on them by Langenia. We will not declare war, but we severe relations and designate Mitheldalond a rogue state. All Mitheldalondian diplomats must leave Langenia within 48 hours. Foreign stragglers will be prosecuted.

Off the coast of Erusea, one of the Langenien submarine squadrons (consisting of three submarines) that had transported Langenien commandos to Erusea are returning to their assigned carrier battle group. The lead sub detects a Mitheldalondian submarine, and then detects torpedoes headed towards them. The submarines deploy countermeasures, but one of the submarines manuevers to protect the other two submarines and is hit by all four Mk 48 torpedoes. It is blown to smithereens. A fourth Langenien submarine operating in the area then returns fire at the Mitheldalondian sub with two Type 65 torpedoes.

To all parties concerned,

even though the Kingdom has declared its support for Osea in this conflict, we do not wish to be directly involved. Given the conflict's increasingly convoluted situation, the Kingdom is inclined to commit more practical measures. As is such, we are applying naval escorts to any Folaisian ship within the Ceres Ocean, armament or civilian. At this moment, a cruise ship stranded in Sand Island and is awaiting its return to the Folaisian homeland. If provoked, we will have no choice but to declare this as an act of war against the attacker and inexorably its allies.

Despite the defeat of the A World Without Borders group, the conspiracy of the Grey Men and ironically, of an Erusea supported by Gründer Industries in the Lighthouse War, the Belkans never stopped scheming to avenge their humiliation at the hands of Osea, as well as the many atrocities of Osea against Belka, such as the cultural genocide in South Belka perpetrated by Osea.

The reason for the return of Belkans serving in Erusea was simple - the liberation of Belka was at hand. The latest plot of the Belkans was simple - to rearm under the aegis of a greater power, while Osea and her allies was occupied with the fighting against Joyea and Langenia. The greater power was none other than the Urheimat - Germany. The facade of "neutrality" and thus absence in the battles of the Spring Sea and the Ceres Ocean was to allow for the liberation of Belka by the Urheimat.

The schemers of Belka have notice of the German interest in their country, through the German ambassador in Dinsmark, and thus the Belkan legionnaires have returned to Belka to assist all the conspirators still in Belka. Even with the destruction of Mount Schirm and Avalon Dam, and the disbandment of the Grey Men, groups of plotters, ultranationalists and revanchists still existed, and nationalist sentiments still lingered in the populace. The legionnaires, being the only openly armed force in Belka, were able to force the hand of the seated government.

Thus, when the first German planes landed in the undefended airports of Belka, they did not find a hastily-assembled resistance force, but a welcome committee composed of the leading officers of the 1st Belkan Brigade who have returned home, and civilian contractors who quickly unloaded the airlifters.

Rumor has it that that there was an order for work on command facilities at Avalon Dam, Mount Schirm and Excalibur, and armed men were assembling secretly all over Belka, spurred by the new arrivals from Erusea.

The great idea, the hope and dream of all Belkans. The assistance of the Urheimat will make this dream a reality.

Santa Selena gets involved in war!

Recently after consideration, the Santa Selenan government has involved itself into a conflict between Joyea and the United Ocean States. The conflict first started when a Joyean ship attacked an innocent OSEAN cruise ship. Due to this, a conflict of massive proportions has broken out and has caught the eye of Santa Selenan government. Since the war started, the Selenan government condemned Joyea, stating that killing innocent men no matter the reason, is unacceptable.

Recently however, the Selenan government has decided to help out OSEAN against Joyea. The Selenan government is planning to mobilize Division SS2, which has around 10,000 troops. Along with 270 SoftShell SH736 planes, 3 destroyers and 2 cruisers. If the conflict worsens though, the Santa Selenan government said,"They're not afraid to bring more." Also, the government originally planned to bring nuclear missiles, but has now decided against it after international intervention. The government says that the volunteers would be ready in a month to deploy with the planes and ships taking only a week.

Ciorsdan MacIlleSheathnaich is a young reporter for the New Edinburgh Broadcasting Corporation, stationed near the Air Force Base to cover the events of the war unfolding. Although nothing much has happened in the urban settlement, Ciorsdan nevertheless had stories to tell, and in the event of the Erusean squadron carrying troops arriving at the base, she could never refuse the opportunity.

Dropped off at where the Erusean airmen have been gathering, Ciorsdan sought out the commander of the naval squadron with the help of Osean and Erusean personnel and her press identification card given to her by base commanders. Eventually, she was guided to the air commander to present herself.

"Hello, Commander. My name is Ciorsdan MacIlleSheathnaich from the New Edinburgh Broadcasting Corporation. I was wondering if you're willing to take the time to answer a few questions I had in mind about your presence here and of the war itself," she introduced.

The Citadel Military Prison and POW facility is almost full we have only 159 Oseans there but there are also plenty of other prisoners in that fucking ancient castle should we see if we could send them to Joseph Beltzin Underground Military Science Center? We've also got that defector if this gets intercepted the Oseans will counter strike as he knows first hand what goes on in Beltzin. There have already been 5 Oseans that have escaped the Citidel we shouldn't take the risk we should just send them to Beltzin. I guess it's up to you Chairman.

Her Majesty's Carrier Battlegroup Babenberg, consisting of fleet carriers Babenberg and Monarch, a light fleet carrier, a ship-of-the-line, four cruisers and six frigates is currently on a scheduled cruise in the North Atlantic. In other newsworthy items HM Submarine 114 has made a friendly port-of-call in the Gallian Naval Base of Toulon, her schedule next week consists of training operations with the Richelieu battlegroup of the Gallian Navy.

HMS Babenberg, Babenberg-class fleet carrier of Her Majesty's War Navy was certainly nowhere to be found in the North Atlantic, or in any way, shape or form capable of even going to Fuso. Her pristine hull was moored in Trieste naval base for a so-called Selected Restricted Availability - routine maintenance that is. Tarpaulin covered most of the bridge and the missile battery while large workshop sheds had been erected across her flightdeck, including right over the two big hull numbers painted in white at her stern and fore. Next to her in the main drydock we find HMS Szent István, flagship of the fleet with equally copious amounts of scaffolding, workshops and tarp strategically located across her deck and superstructure. Moored behind Babenberg were two ships of the line of the Laudon class, their brand new paintjob covering their decks shining wet in the afternoon sun. In fact it was so shining wet and new that the customary hull numbers usually found on the stern helo pad haven't been applied yet. Around the four capital warships six cruisers lay parked en echelon, in fact in the standard battleship row formation made infamous by certain movies about the Pacific War. All in all a seemingly peaceful working day for the Imperial and Royal War Navy.

Somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean, in the middle of the night a string of AIS signals could be located by the local civilian traffic of supertankers and container ships. Looking at these transmissions the merchantmen thought nothing more of it as the spacing between them, dozens of kilometres apart as prescribed by international maritime safety regulations indicated that these were nothing more than fellow merchantmen travelling the high seas. Besides, this sealane was one of the most highly trafficked on the planet, what could be ominous about a set of AIS signals that belonged to clearly registered civilians?

Another half a planet away, HM Submarine 114 was equally nowhere to be found on her alleged station in the North Atlantic with the Richelieu battlegroup of the Gallian Navy. She was instead speeding along deep towards the Osea, scheduling an arrival on station in the next few days.

[Lacienia]

In Transit from Lacienia to Joyea

The convoy was sailing through the waters un-interupted so far towards the coast of Joyea to wait offshore for the invasion to commence. Everyone in the convoy were not put at ease by the silence. In fact, the silence wa like a blanket of darkness and calm hanging over the eyes and concealing what lies past the sheet.

In particular this fear was carried by CaptainTom Walker of the LNS. Hughes, the carrier and flagship of the fleet. Thus it was of less surprise when the LNS. Bull suddenly burst into flames and a gash appeared in its side.

"Holy Hell, the Bull is on fire at midship. We have to get those people out of there before the ammunitio..."

His sentence was cut short as the LNS. Bull was engulfed in a massive ball of flames as the ammunition blew up, split the ship and caused a rupture in the nuclear reactor that rendered the wreckage and the nearby LNS. Bronco irradiated and unapproachable without hazard suits.

Captain Walker was sad to give the order, there would be no rescue ships and any survivors of the two ships would be left on their own.

"Now, how did that sub get past our planes and we have to hunt it down and sink it!"

"Sir we are unsure as to how it got past us but, it appears to be Langenian from its torpedo size and power."

"Thank you for the information, launch the sub hunting planes, deploy our subs to hunt them and drop depth charges."

Captain William Goodfortune looked over his screen and noticed that a Submarine had been spotted on sonar one kilometer ahead. and ordered 4 self-propelled guided torpedo to be fired at its reactor, ammunition storage, and engine section.

Martinez orders his guns to fire warning rounds though there were plenty of mines in the water and specific routes were made for ships to get through the issue with te mines is that they were to low down for many small ships to be damaged.

OOC: Godmodding alert, Lacienia

Another force of commandos from the Army, Navy, and MID had been ordered to deploy to Lacienia. After dropping off their midget submarines, the larger submarines had returned to base. Not all of them though. Two entire Langenien submarine groups had been ordered to assemble in a wolf pack and intercept and destroy the Lacienien fleet headed to Joyea. To avoid detection, the plan was to attack one by one instead of storming the convoy, which would allow the Lacieniens to easily use all of their ASW measures. After one of the subs had successfully attacked two Lacienien destroyers, a Lacienien submarine accompanying the convoy returned fire, successfully destroying the Langenien submarine. Another Langenien sub came into the battle, while all the rest remained hidden. It returned fire with two torpedoes aimed at the sub's reactor and torpedo hold. It then fired four more torpedoes, two Type 65s at the aircraft carrier LNS Hughes, and one torpedo each at two transport ships loaded with marines. A surfaced submarine from the wolfpack was also several miles away, sending a radio message via a command-and-control ship nearby to the Admiralty headquarters in the Ministry of National Defense building in Aragon, asking for the Admiralty to request air support from the Joyeans.

OOC: Thanks, I will try not to do that again. But I need to know what I did in particular so I can avoid it.

Lacienian Naval Convoy

The two torpedos streaked toward the LNS. Hughes while the PDC's attempted to prematurely detonate them. The PDC's filed and the Hughes was struck by both torpedos and took heavy damage. Luckily the Hughes had heavy armor and was able to take the damage at the cost of its mobility and 600 of its 8000 man crew. Simultaneously, underneath the waves, the LNS. Dolphin had been hit in the reactor and the torpedo hold. Of the two midget subs on board, one wa destroyed and the other was damaged and couldn't detach. Ultimately as the radioactivity spread, the crew in the airlock managed to swim to the surface but they were a mere 4 out of the crew of 200 men and women. After the loss of four ships, the orders were to make a beeline for the Joyean Coast and get into range of the Lacienian FOB's air cover. While making this. trip, there was always somebody at every station and depth charges were dropped regularly while helicopters patrolled for shallow subs. Even if significantly reduced, the convoy will push forward.

Off the coast of Joyea, near Joyeah City...

three more Langenien submarines joined the frenzy, surrounding the convoy two on each side. One submarine fired two more Type 65 torpedoes (which are specifically designed to sink capital ships) at the LNS Hughes, aiming to get the nuclear reactor and magazine, and the others fired more torpedoes at every ship that had a nuclear reactor or was loaded with Lacienien marines, all while trying to staying out of range of Lacienien depth charges. When the torpedoes were almost used on one submarine, they began firing anti-ship missiles. Aboard the same surfaced submarine that had sent the message to the Admiralty, the captain realized that the Lacieniens were making a beeline for the Joyean coast near Joyeah City. A realization struck him. The Lacieniens probably had an FOB that could provide them with air cover. He couldn't let this happen. Then he had an idea. "Dive and fire cruise missiles at those caves on the coast. The Lacieniens probably have a Foward Operating Base there," he said. "Aye, sir," responded the sailors. The same message was sent to the all the submarines of the wolfpack that hadn't been participating in the battle, which were all surfaced out of range of Lacienien eyes. The submarines all dived and began launching their cruise missiles, right at the caves where the Lacieniens possibly had an FOB.
