[Request] Factbook Reordering

Factbooks should be able to be organized by the person creating them in whatever way they like. I want to order things alphabetically, while someone else might want to order things by importance, historical dates, or keep it the way it is. NationStates is a game about creating your nation, so I feel we should also be able to show our nation's info the way we want.

Yes. I do agree this would be a cool feature if added. You have to now edit the factbooks so that they are the order you want them, which can be cumbersome if you have quite a few factbooks.

Agreed. Region pins can be reordered (correct me if wrong), so why not Factbooks?

If you really want to present your factbooks in a specified order, you can always make an overview/index factbook which contains links to all your other factbooks in whatever order you like.

Of course that exists as a workable alternative (thankfully) but the more options that there are for this, the better.

This is one of those things that I didn't know I actually need and want.

Having to edit your Factbooks anytime so that one is in the top can be a hassle, especially with the recently-added captcha.

You mean the order that factbooks are listed? From my experience, I just circumvented the system by clicking "edit" and then "post" on my factbooks until they are ordered according to my wish. I also have to change some categories of the factbooks to do that. Kinda tedious, but it works so whatever.

But why should I have to do that? I know it doesn't matter, but if I'm not actively editing my factbooks I don't want it to say that they've been updated. Like what if I want to edit some of my older factbooks to update them to more represent my nation? If they're all updated then I can't see which factbooks I have and haven't edited recently.

Unfortunately for us, I feel like these added solutions will not be worked on ever or are at a low priority because of inflexible archaic code.

I think some method for organizing a nation's dispatches/factbooks would be very useful. One way this could be implemented would be to replicate the regional dispatch pinning system for nations:

Each nation decides whether to "pin" in their factbook page a dispatch they've published. And then they can re-order the pinned dispatches.

This should make browsing through the dispatch list of very prolific nations much easier, and would also make reordering simpler (no need to order 1000 dispatches if you only care about 1-2).
