Well we don't know if anyone actually did something at the moment. But there really aren't that many ex-Minister Tory MPs in their fifties.

Westminster doesn't narrow anything down since by definition all MPs have Westminster connections.

The three MPs whose constituencies cover Lambeth (Vauxhall; Dulwich & West Norwood; Streatham) are all women, and are all Labour. Hackney is also divided between constituencies held by Labour women (Hackney North & Stoke Newington; Hackney South & Shoreditch). So I think we can rule out the constituency MPs for those London boroughs.

Lambeth, however, would also cover Waterloo train station, the Archbishop of Canterbury's London palace, and Mi6/SIS HQ - so there's some scope for non-constituency shenanigans there. Hackney seems to have fewer opportunities for senior ministers to pass through the borough on ministerial business.


I will note, in fairness to the Conservative & Unionist Party (who are having a spot of bother with sexual assault right now following Charlie Elphicke's verdict this past week), that the allegations were apparently raised by a Tory MP, who reported them to the Chief Whip, who in turn encouraged the woman making the initial complaint to make a formal report. So there's no suggestion at this point that anyone is trying to cover anything up, and from the little we do know at this stage all appropriate protocols seem to have been followed.

John Hume, alongside former leader of the UUP David Trimble, were instrumental in the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and played a huge role in the NI peace process. Without the likes of him NI would be a far worse place, RIP.
