I believe it was indeed. Wonder how that restaurant's doing, because as good as it was, it is dangerously cozy considering the current state of the world.

I've eaten fried and raw oysters before, I believe. Latter goes nicely with lemons if I remember correctly, as someone else suggested.

It's my favourite stir fry sauce. Stir fried leafy greens in oyster sauce is lovely. Always tastes vaguely of coffee to me.

Why do people eat snails and sea cucumbers? They look so slimy and disgusting i don't even dare to touch them.

Oyster sauce imo isn't that good, but I add it to my fried rice because it makes it more fragrant. Does oyster sauce go well with oyster?

Food is food, and I am a gluttonous lad with an interest in anything that's sanitary. Besides, snail is barely slimy once it's cooked unless you count the sauce. Sea cucumbers are very squish-squish, though, aye. Less so my taste, or maybe that's just the sauce. Been a while since I went to a Chinese restaurant, what with the pandemic.

Twicetagram and JYPE wrote:WHO EATS BRAINS

A few European cultures are included in this, apparently.

Twicetagram and JYPE wrote:On a brighter note, do yall like grilled salmon?

Aye. They have a cedar-plank salmon o'er at CPK (bankrupt by the way) served with spinach, corn, and a lime that's awfy wonderful to me. Oh yes, I forgot — the salmon, spinach, and corn are good too.

Errrr....I think they look more friendly than fish and cattle and chickens.Their bodies are close to colloids, they have no blood or fishy smell, and they are not full of intestinal excreta and bacteria. There's no fat layer, no lymph, no hard to chew muscle fibers. :p Or.... I don't really eat soup and noodles that much, but ironically, I really do have a thing for Nissin's Instant Noodles, particularly Laksa flavor.

So there's Ramen, Tom Yum, and Laksa for me whenever there is soup!

-----

On the non-Asian side, I do quite like a taste of the mushroom soup, though I don't particular drink that too often.

-----

Does rice porridge count? That one dreadful thing I have to eat when my sense of smell and taste are botched from a fever. I don't like it. >,<

I prefer raw, but you need to know they are very fresh and from a reputable source.
