Hello everyone, I would like to ask what if any real world religions do you see in the games lore or games different religions?

I see the Monomyth as sounding a lot like Gnosticism or Manichaenism or Platonism. The elves see themselves trapped in this state of materialism like some karmic religions, they seek to become their original unfettered spiritual 'self'/'not self' so i see Indian religious philosophy present. Talos undergoes apotheosis and goes from mortal to a god also which sounds like occult religions.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks for reading,

There’s not much rhyme or reason to the Dragonborn’s wedding guests, is there? You can have beggars and General Tullius at the same time.

For what it’s worth, I’ve been reloading a save to see who will show up each time, and my current Dragonborn usually sees Companions, beggars, and Faendal. I’ve seen a few Jarls, but sometimes you get their stewards and housecarls instead.

Its very random it seems. One character of mine who got married had a full chapel of friends and people he helped across the province including Jarl Balgruff and Ravencrone, Lydia, Ysolda, and Tolfdir

Another character only had his son, Farkus and Iona there.

Did you mod the game to have more than three guests?

Come to think of it, I think I was playing a modded game when I had Tullius as a guest. If he can show up normally than he’s the most significant person I’ve seen.

It’d be cool if the weddings were more expansive. They could have at least made little changes, like gifts from the guests or being able to choose where it happens.

I’m playing Skyrim normally. I’d just brought back Derkeethus from Darkwater Pass if that might have affected anything. I see an NPC coming over the horizon and notice it’s a bald guy I don’t recognize as being from the town, so I go over to investigate.

First, the NPC is stuck in the ground and is only visible from the waist up. He drifts through it. Also his eyes are closed and his leg is bent up so that the sole of his boot is by his waist and also comes up from the ground. It’s like he’s dead but still oriented head up.

Second, it’s Skjor from the Companions questline, who died as part of the plot and has been dead for at least a hundred in game days now. The corpse of Skjor is apparently just drifting through Skyrim now. Literally through Skyrim.

He followed the road out of town and went southwest.

One of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen in this game.

Probably a mod.

I'd wanna skip the entire dungeon crawling and forgotten Vale and get straight to dealing with that vampiric snow elf and get Auri-El's bow.

bruh

And miss the Frost Giants with their neat crystals that open up portals leading to immense riches? And miss the fight with the two dragons that crash through the frozen lake?

Come on.

Forgotten Vale is really long, but definitely cool. Actually that sums up most of Dawnguard. The only part of the DLC I’d really skip is the initial trek through the Volkihar Castle to get to the Soul Cairn.

No I did not. Where did you get it’s limited to three guests only?

There are normally only three guests at the Dragonborn’s side of the wedding. It’s one friend, one confidant, and one ally, and it’s based on how much each likes you. The game will pick from any number of characters who are friendly to the Dragonborn, and one character can fill any of those roles.

Your spouse can bring guests too. That might be what happened.

Update, I don’t know if it had anything to do with seeing him again, but Skjor is alive and well at Jorrvaskr. He has the same dialogue he does when you’re brand new.

Whatever. Not gonna mess with it.

Fuck that, I hate fighting Falmer more than I hate fighting anything else. Its a giant area that takes forever to go through with some of the worst enemies in the game and is almost as bad as Discerning the Transmundane.

You mean enchantments I already have along with gold that's plentiful across skyrim? Not worth dealing with Falmer dungeons to get such meager rewards.

Challenging enemies are good enemies, Naz. If you don't sweat and struggle then it's not worth it. The Forgotten Vale may be long but it's super cool. And yeah, I hate Falmer too, but at least I know I'm in for a damn good fight with them - especially when they have chaurus. Serana makes those fights easier, too. I hate being able to cheese through enemies.

Rieklings are easily the worst enemies in the game, anyhow. Fucking obnoxious bastards.

They're not good enemies they're just fucking annoying and not fun at all. Having to fight hundreds of them during a single quest is just frustrating.

Not everyone has the belief that by default challenge=good.

To me personally, most challenge=frustration, I gain very little enjoyment from beating challenging parts of games most of the time. My general reaction first and foremost to beating challenging bits is "Oh thank god, now I can actually get back to parts of the game I actually like."

The Falmer are pretty weak to the muffle spell, since they rely on hearing.

There are also plenty of places in the Forgotten Vale where they can be fus-roh-yeeted off a ledge.

Honestly what the next Elder Scrolls game needs is a combination of Daggerfall and Hammerfell. We’ll call it Daggerfell.

Or Hammerfall.
