Bernie is a gelatinous creature that bends under the slightest pressure, anyway. That is the farce of American liberalism.

Nah they will, they’d rather have a Democrat in the oval than a Republican that doesn’t even make an attempt with Progressives.

Yep, most American progressives are, as I said earlier, gelatinous creatures who seem to not care about being kicked in the balls. They don't seem to have a breaking point of any sort. They make me feel sad for the future of socialism in the only place where it is able to prevail without military resistance.

I would support the Democrat this year considering Trump's handling of the pandemic(or lack thereof), unless it was a crazy lunatic(like Bass), or a neocon(Maybe like Rice, I need to read up on her)

These posts will all age well.

But anyway the democratic party is nasty and pretty infested anyway.

If I lived in a safe state I may consider voting independent or third party at the congressional level, especially if it was one of those corporate mofos running on the dem side.

RPs I do
- How do you do fellow kids? You want to see something violent? - Artemis: Deimos Trafficking League (Horror/Mature)
- Descend into the forgotten tourist traps of Florida on this transgressive RP! - The Community (Mature/Black Comedy/Slice-of-Life)

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.

I am indeed very disappointed with most American leftists, but sadly that's just the way things are.

The majority of American progressives, at least those who are actually relevant, understand that they won't achieve anything by fighting on all fronts. In order to achieve reform (which is the only way the American system can be changed, with no revolution being viable) they have to establish connections and build bridges with legislators and activists in order to get things done. The reason Bernie is personally so conciliatory is not because he is a spineless coward, but because he understands that the moment he goes on the offensive he will get destroyed by the media. See what happened when someone from his camp tried to go on the attack. There is a reason why so much anti-progressive slander is taken at face value. Progressives simply are not on the same playing field as the moderates or conservatives, they do not have a big media presence or organization. This and the fact that the Overton window is so much to the right. America, in terms of it's electorate, is not ready to take measures taken by other countries over 70 years ago, and even less so in terms of political solutions not yet undertaken by any nation in the world. The reason progressives don't get things done is because they can't get things done, not because they don't want to get things done. In my opinion little blame for this can be ascribed to modern day progressives or any progressives for that matter. The very harsh legacy of the Cold War still lives on, albeit nowadays considerably less so than in the past, making it difficult to get things done with the majority of the electorate being conditioned into rejecting many left-wing ideas from an early age to the point where "left-wing" as a term itself is completely useless in the context of American politics.

Anyway, my point is simple. Instead of rejecting and slandering people like Bernie Sanders, a legitimately good person who wanted to do good things and probably the strongest advocate for actual left-wing politics in America in decades, his achievements as an advocate should be celebrated and the qualities he sought to pass on to his supporters implemented in our everyday lives without turning him into a center of a cult. People like Bernie or AOC should be inspirations for any well-meaning leftist, especially in the Western hemisphere where the only path to change is through reform. This is not to say they should be celebrated without any critique, Bernie had a long career during which he has made mistakes and taken policy positions which were harmful to many people (for example his position on immigration) and his class-reductionist rhetoric led to him being insensitive to issues of many groups of people (which is not to say he outright ignored or demonized them). Bernie's transformation through the years should also not be ignored, his 2020 platform was actually a really good one when it comes to the issues he once was rather ignorant on (it stressed identity-based policy alongside class-based policy instead of ignoring the former), but that was possible only because of the dialogue he undoubtedly had with activists and advocacy groups after he rose to prominence.

The progressives' "spinelessness" is the reason why America is seeing the largest number of progressive elected officials in it's modern history right now. They're not spineless - they're smart. In a political climate where their ideology is not one of the two default ones they are doing what they can to normalize their beliefs in the eyes of the public. They won't achieve that by being aggressive and inflammatory. They understand that change won't happen over night or over the course of a single election cycle. A quick flood of change like a revolution seems nice, but it's an escapist fantasy. There is no blueprint for such an event and there never will be, because it's unachievable which is why it's important to uplift progressive reformers instead of trying to bring them down.
