Bob Klein was having quite the night at Joyeah City Opera House. Next to him sat Connor Das on the left and on Michael Borodin on the right. The three politicians were enjoying their night out before the conference on how to fix the security issue in the government buildings. They were guarded by 12 armed guards surveying them from theedges of the room.

Frederick Spaltrin was uncomfortable with the current mission and thought that the chances of being caught were too high. With a gulp, Frederick pushed down his fears and attached his silencer. "Alright then, lets do this" said Corporal Spaltrin in a semi-confident voice. Soon the voice came over the comms and Frederick and his nine squad mates entered the building from their roof-top ledge. They only encountered two guards and they both were dispatched with silenced shots. Soon they had entered backstage area and had cut small holes in the curtain to aim through. In a matter of seconds later, Bob Klein, Connor Das, and Michael Borodin sat dead in their seats with holes in their heads. the guards soon caught on and began to pursue the spec-ops squad through the building only to all be shot fairly easily other than one who managed to call in a Lacienian attack. and that the politicians were dead. The. team then walked out to the roof top and climbed away and to safety.

As the Joyean air attacked commenced, the TOurion forces in the area aided the defense. Many Tourion elements were left undamaged by the Jooyean attacks. The TS Lazy Day with her SM-2s, as well as eight Fenneks equipped with Stinger missiles, traced down and lobbed their response to the Joyean attack.

Realizing his need for more resources, the rear admiral requested on the part of all commanders in the Tourion task force for more assets to be transported to the Osean mission.

The Joyean military began the first part of their assault on the United Osean States by air. All 100,000 paratroopers from Joyea were loaded onto there planes and they began there flight to the UOS. The paratroopers were equipped with Mk. 48 MR rifles which have been the Joyean paratroopers rifle of choice since 1948, they also carried VP-70 pistols. On the Osean coast Joyean and Osean naval cessels were in a huge battle, both sides were sustaining heavy losses

Vulture 25 Cargo Aircraft, Approaching the United Osean States

Dillon: Hey wake up, wake up.
Dunlap: wha-what, what is it.
Dillon: I'm going to take a piss cover for me, yeah?
Dunlap: Sure.
While the pilot was relieving himself the AA fire began the Osean missiles and guns began firing taking down aircraft left and right.
Dillon: The fuck was that?
Dunlap: Osean AA fire.
Dillon: Oh, okay that means we're getting close.
Dunlap: No shit. Hey, I think I can see a few AA gun sights down there, radio the Su-25s and A-4s and tell them where the AA positions are
Dillion: You got it.
Dillon (Over the radio): This is Vulture 25 we have located several anti aircraft positions about 3000 meters ahead of us, over.
A-4 pilot: Copy that, we've got you covered.
Dillon (Over the radio): Thank you, Vulture 25 out.

Dunlap: So how much longer it will be until we can let the paratroopers drop?
Dillon: I don't know. Maybe 20 minutes.
Dunlap (Sarcastically) : Great.
Dillon: Shit, we've got about 60 to 110 F-22s, F-15s, F-35s, and FA-18s ahead of us
Dillon (Over the radio): Attention all transports and escorts, this is Vulture 25, there are around 100 Osean fighter jets inbound at around 4 km ahead of us and moving in fast.
Condor 576, 42 9, 1. Vulture 43, 64, 28: Copy.
Dillon: we're almost to the drop point.
Dunlap: good. Are we just going back afterwards or what?
Dillon: I think we're going back to Joyeah city.
Dunlap: Oh great another 16 hours of mother fucking flying.
The Osean fighters reach the cargo planes and get into dogfights with the Joyean escorts. An Osean F-35 fired a single AIM-120 missile hitting one of Vulture 25s 6 turboprop engines.
Dunlap: Shit we just lost an engine, cutting power to engine 5.
Dillon: Ok.
Dunlap cut all power to the destroyed engine causing most of the fire in the engine to go out.
Foxtrot 25 (C-17): We are over the drop zone.
Vulture 25: Roger
Vulture 25 and the other aircraft dropped there cargo and then began their flight back to Joyea.

All the paratroopers left the plane and began their descent into a forest in the UOS...

Prentice (Over the radio): They've got us pinned we can't go anywhere we need close air support NOW!
Falcon 2-5 KA-52: Copy that we'll take care of them for you.
The KA-52 flys over and destroys multiple HMG emplacements and M1 Abrams tanks.
Prentice: Thanks for the assist 2-5
Falcon 2-5: Copy.
Ware: We need to keep pushing forward!
The Joyean troops kept pushing forward until they reached a small lake where a few thousand Osean troops had made fortifications and were ripping the Joyean paratroopers apart.
Ware: Comrades, we're out of KA-52 support for awhile because they needed to be refueld and rearmed but we will have the occasional bombing run.
Conway:Shit, that means we're trapped in this sorry ass trench until the chopper comes back, though we do have a mortar.
Ware: Crap forgot about that, Kayden get on the Dicon 81
Howe: Yes sir!
The NCO got on the 81mm mortar made by the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria and began lobbing rounds at the Osean fortifications making it easier for the Joyean troops to move forward and take the fortifications.
Ware: Coway go into the bunker with Howe and plant some explosives in their, NOW.
As they made their way to the bunker a Joyean Tu-22 launched it's AS-4 missile destroying a bunker then an M1A2 tank roled in and started firing.
Howe: we're gonna need to take out that tank I have 4 AT grenades, you?
Conway: I've got a RPG-7 though, I think the sergeant was carrying a RPG 34.
Howe then as soon as we take out this bunker we need to get him out here.
Conway: You got it.
Howe: Kick down the door and take out the guards, I'll plant the bombs.
Conway: Ok.
The corporal kicked down the small wooden door and fired is Mk. 48 it sprayed bullets everywhere even when aimed the Mk. 48 tends to be extremely inaccurate and heavy though it usually uses a 75 round drum other magazines include a 100 round drum and a 50 round box. After he took out the guards NCO Howe planted 6 PM 2 and 3 KPM 2 blasting machines they exploded and destroyed the bunker.
Conway: Sir we destroyed the bunker how do you want to destroy the tank.
Ware: Have Howe use his AT grenades if that doesn't work I'll use my RPG 34.
Conway: Yes sir. Hey Kayden you've got to go up to the tank and throw your AT grenades at or under it.
Howe: Ok.
The NCO ran up to the tank and threw all 4 of his AT grenades at it annihilating the tank istantly.
Falcon 5-2: I'll take care of the rest of them for you, get to the rally point.
Prentice: Thank you for the assist Falcon.
Falcon 5-2: Anytime.
Conway: Finally, we can rest, I can tell the next few days will suck ass.
The paratroopers wait for the next part of the attack to begin on the beaches of the UOS. The rally point had 4 helipads and trenches with multiple MG nests and mortar emplacements.

Task Force Tolstoy- Off of Oured.

Not long ago, once upon a time, Erusea ruled the waves. From the North Atlantic's freezing waters, to the calm waves of the South Pacific, not a ship sailed and not a plane flew without Erusea's assent.
Now? The Royal Navy was much reduced, but it was still going strong, and already Erusea had circumvented or steamrolled most of the political restrictions that had bound it to Osea since the end of the Lighthouse War. But the time had not yet come to challenge Osea in the open, so, for now, the Eruseans remained neutral. Mostly.

Of course, usually, neutral nations don't steam an assault ship and it's associated surface combatants between two warring parties for the express purpose of pulling people out of the water. But that's what they were tasked with doing, and by God, they would do it or die trying; the lives of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people were at stake.

The Erusean fleet, was as follows.
Task element Anna Karenina was the nucleus of the operation, and was commanded by one Commodore Jan Valmont. It would provide security and support for the other task elements, and fend off any attempts at attacking the Erusean hospital ships, by force if necessary. The centrepiece of Task Element Anna Karenina was the Chi-Rho class Assault Ship NSM Torres.

Task element Vronsky was a more eclectic group, and consisted of the rotary-wing utility aircraft that would form the backbone of the rescue operations, a single flight of AV-8s to react to any hostile aircraft, and a battalion of Naval Infantry to repel attempts at boarding any ships; or, possibly, to facilitate the evacuation of civilians from the land, if the situation called for it.

Task element Levin was the logistical group, and would play a lesser role in the more dangerous and politically sensitive parts of the operation.

Civilian element Katerina, commanded by Nikolai Count d'Cavour, was at once a deadweight and the keystone to the whole effort. The hospital ships in question were, aside from the contingent of Erusean troops onboard, completely and utterly helpless, but were, as their name implied, floating hospitals that would be key to ensuring the survival of the men the rest of the flotilla pulled, half-drowned and freezing, at best, from the water.

All elements were prepared and briefed, all orders were dispatched, and so, Task Force Tolstoy sprang into action.

A public message was sent to both Joyean and Osean commands.

At 0700 hours, Oured time, Task Force Tolstoy of the Royal Erusean Navy will begin to conduct search-and-rescue operations for downed airmen, irrespective of nationality. Your consent, or lack thereof, will not be considered in the slightest- the operation will be carried out, irregardless.

Actions, with regards to Task Force Tolstoy, that will result in a declaration of war against you by the Kingdom of Erusea include but are not limited to:

Attempting to take prisoners from any ship after he has been rescued.
Attempting to sink, board, or otherwise inhibit any ship that is listed in the Order of Battle of Task Force Torres(included below for your convenience).
Attempting to shoot down, jam, buzz, or otherwise inhibit any aircraft with Erusean and medical markings.
In general, any attempt on the life, limb, or property of Erusean military and humanitarian personnel, or their charges.
You may request that any rescued personnel be transferred back to your custody, provided that they are in stable physical and mental condition, wish to return, and are a citizen of your nation. If all three criterion are meet, we will immediately transport your personnel to an area of your choosing.

Rest assured that your evacuated citizens will be treated with all custom and courtesy demanded by the laws of warfare, as set by all civilized nations, and that they may return to their homes, should they wish.

The minute the message was sent, the Task Force swung into action. Amid the chaotic hell of shot and shell, Erusean helicopters seemed to weave between blasts of fire, pulling out all the men, sailors, and soldiers they could, regardless of nation, creed, or color. The aim of Tolstoy was dead-set on one thing, and one thing only; to save lives.

A few hours later, the captain is looking through the sub's periscope.

Captain: I see warships. They appear to bear the Osean flag.

Sailor: Sir, should we fire torpedoes?

Captain: What do you think, commissar?

Sailor: Aye, sir.

The torpedoes bearing the eagle of Langenia disappear into the waters. The submarine slinks into the depths to avoid being caught by the Osean ships, thus, the submarine's crew is unable to know whether they sank any enemy ships. It is now up to the military intelligence agency of Langenia: the Military Intelligence Directorate (MID) of the General Staff Bureau of the Langenien Revolutionary Armed Forces, to find out what happened in the action.

The operation had been going well.
Way too well, in fact. No ships had been sunken, and the helicopters had, thus far, not taken any damage. Hundreds of men had been pulled from the water, and had been transferred to the hospital ships. A warm greeting, crisp bedsheets, and decent food was to be found there. Sure, some of the orderlies were cold, and the Erusean Naval Infantry on board downright hostile to the Oseans, the doctors, nurses, and most of the orderlies seemed to be friendly enough to the rescued men, regardless of whether or not they served under the flag of the Eternal Osean.

And then, alarms broke out. Torpedoes, from the Joyean side of the line. And several of them were headed right at the Erusean hospital ship.

Evasive manuvers were ordered. Critically-injured patients were moved to the top, and life-vests were passed around like confetti. The hospital ship lacked sonar decoys, so it was up to the surrounding ships, but even that seemed to be of no avail. Two torpedoes, line-abrest, were headed right for the broadside of the Charity.

A loud foghorn. The sound of screws desperately churning the water; and the NSM Anchorhead lurched in front of the Charity, shielding it from the torpedoes.

The resulting explosion ripped the frigate in half. Of the 300-odd hands upon the Anchorhead, about a dozen survived-6 Eruseans, 2 Oseans, and 4 Joyeans.

With that fateful shot, the war changed.

DECLARATION OF WAR BY THE KINGDOM OF ERUSEA UPON THE ILLEGITIMATE STATE OF JOYEA AND IT'S ALLIES

At 1100 hours yesterday, in the Oured Bay region, the NSM Anchorhead sank from a direct hit by 2 torpedoes that were suspected to be fired by a Joyean/Joyean-affiliated submarine. Preliminary investigation has recovered wreckage from the torpedo used that implies that the state of Langenia, a Joyean ally.

A state of war now exists between the Kingdom of Erusea and the state of Joyea and all of it's backers.

The warmongering of Osea and its allies has gone to far. For example, the nation of the Kingdom of Erusea accused Langenia of sinking an Erusean frigate with the purpose of inciting conflict between our two countries. Due to this fact, Langenia can no longer continue to maintain diplomatic relations with them at the charge d'affaires level. The only diplomatic relations we can maintain are none, thus, we sever relations. United Osean States Limited Aid Act Passes in Parliament

Prime Minister MacCormick speaks at a press conference after the passage of the Act

At 3:15 PM, the newly-proposed United Osean States Limited Aid Act has passed the legislature with 185 votes out of 210. Attracting much support from the conservatives, liberal democrats and social democrats, the decision to pass the Act was justified by the Joyean's repeated attacks toward the United Osean States during their conflict, and the recent offensive by the former nation consolidated this choice further. Royal assent by the King will occur tomorrow at 11:00 AM, thereby putting the legislation into effect officially.

"I think we are doing a good thing by passing this Act," states Cliamain MacIllAnndrais, a Conservative MP, "It would show the world that Folaisia is on the right side."

"We should help nations that are being threatened by aggressive, totalitarian polities in any way we can, and that the world must not turn a blind eye at what's happening right now," says Liberal Democrat MP Seanna Jhandir.

"I believe that this kind of aid is necessary," enunciates Gilleasbaig MacLulaich, a Social Democrat, "and it would certainly show that what Joyea is doing is wrong, despite the questionable acts from Osea, and has received our [the Party's] condemnation."

This Act would allow aid in the form of armaments, economic support and humanitarian assistance to be distributed towards the United Osean States. Direct military support however was not recommended unanimously. MacCormick epouses this view, expressing that "sending troops over there at this time would be a waste, and unless Joyea has the audacity to attack our people, indirect support is the viable option."

At a Langenien Revolutionary Air and Air Defense Force airbase near Ushuaia, Langenia. Major Carlos Fernandez had never seen so many airplanes at the same place at the same time. He was excited, as he was going on a combat mission, which he had gotten rather impatient for. He walked to his Su-27 jet, inspected it, and got in. He moved it to the tarmac and got in formation.

Soon it was his turn to take off. He went full throttle and the plane flew off the runway and started climbing. His first targets were in Osea, then he was to return to base, refuel, rest, and fly off with the bombers to strike Erusea. Once over Osea and the target coordinates, he started dropping his bombs.

After returning to base, refueling, and resting, he took with the bombers to Erusea. Once they were flying over the Erusean capital Farbanti, they started bombing and strafing. However, over Farbanti, they encountered a problem. "Bogies! Bogies!" came over the radio. "Freak," thought Major Fernandez. He released his heavy cluster bombs over some part of Farbanti and, turned, and met the Erusian Gripens face to face. He surprised one and fired a missile. He turned and met another Gripen, with both planes manuevering and shooting at each other. Once he had it in his sights, he fired a burst from his cannon. "Stop strafing," he said over the radio, "get the bombers, tankers, and AWACs out of here." Once the large planes were gone, the Langenien fighters turned to meet the enemy bogies. A major air battle ensued. This was what he had waited for all his life: a true air battle. He fired missiles and bursts from his cannon. Then, with the mission objectives met, the planes withdrew.

Once they landed in Langenia, Major Fernandez felt a great sense of victory coming over him. He had survived a major air battle and the Langenien had suffered some casualties, but they were easily replaceable. The power of the Langenien war machine was intimidating...

Farbanti's Air-Defense network was a modern marvel of military engineering. In wartime, it synthesized information from a varied degree of sources(aircraft radars, AWACS returns, the search radars of ships, and the early-warning radars of the Farbanti Searchlight Regiment), and returned a single, extremely detailed map of the battlefield to aircraft, ship, and SAM site alike. The return of a Gripen's radar could guide a ship's Sea Sparrow to it's target, and vice versa.

The Langenian aircraft, their pilots already exhausted from facing the Osean air defense network, would be facing a large force of Erusean aircraft and ships, all prepared for their arrival. Their insistence on strafing would be their downfall; the extremely manuverable Gripens, after expending their long-range BVR "Meteor" hypersonic missiles, exploited it to force their enemies into chaotic dogfights, while the F-15Cs, ships, and SAMs slammed them from longer range, taking out the sluggish bombers, as well as the tankers and AWACs that were key to Langenian strike.

The power of the Langenian war machine, to the Erusean dove, seemed to be but a paper tiger, one whose bluff it gleefully and openly called.

In the lobby room, several people of the 90-member team arranged by the non-governmental organization Bennet-Anstruther International were mingling to themselves after breakfast. Griselda MacIntyre, Timothée Subercaseaux and Bahadar Puriwal Singh were among the group, and are watching the television broadcasting a NEBC news report on the conflict. All they could do was sigh in discontent.

"Well, this is getting more crazier by the day," Griselda commented.

"Nevertheless, we must do what we have to do," Timothée replied.

"I just hope that I don't get shot at, or get blown up," Bahadar said.

"Don't worry about it. Continue to help them regardless," Griselda reassured, "And pray to God to give you protection."

"Of course, of course," he nodded.

"That's us," Timothée announced after seeing the bus, "Let's go, lads and lassies."

With that, the three gathered their belongings and headed onto the bus with their other colleagues. The bus then drove to the Benthoul International Airport where a Boeing 777 awaited them. Behind this plane was an Antonov An-124 with its undercarriage open, with vehicles loading the last of the supplies to be distributed in areas where Osea is hit hardest. After the three boarded, they sat and moments later, they saw the ground sink past the window sill.

Taylor- Minister Lawson, we have begun placing more SM-4-1 130 millimeter coastal guns off the coast of Joyea and more air and sea patrols have begun. More AA crews have been sent to Joyeah city.
Minister Lawson- Good, has an air base been established in Osea
Taylor- No ma'am, but we are planning on putting 2 small hangers and a runway along 3 or 4 fake operating strips. Also people have reported seeing black helicopters near a cave on the coast near Joyeah city.

The two planes eventually reached the airport, and with that the pilots contacted the control tower of their approach, as well as their identity as NGOs. Once garnering clearances to land, the planes lowered their landing gears and touched the pavement of the runways. Then, the passengers of the 777 unloaded, and the undercarriage of the 124 was opened, with a number of volunteers offering their assistance to unload.

Griselda, Timothée and Bahadar walked into the building where the rest of the volunteers gathered, total relief on their visages from no contacts from any Joyean or Joyean-allied planes on their way. They picked a place to sit, and mingled with each other and their colleagues.

Commodore Gina Ivorson finished reading her new orders with a grim expression. Joyea had ignored all Mitheldalndian demands, and the government had decided that they would not stand for this. A message needed to be sent: the murder of five Mitheldalondian citizens by Joyean commandos would not be tolerated. With the refusal of the Joyeans to cooperate, negotiate, or seemingly engage in any kind of dialog whatsoever, Mitheldalond was left with but one option: retaliate.

Six of Gilraen's F/A-19 Thunderhawks streaked across the sea toward Joyeah City. Four of the aircraft formed the strike package, loaded with AGM-84 SLAM-ERs, while the other two would provide fighter support. When the formation reached their firing range - about 120nmi from the coast - the planes suddenly climbed sharply up away from the waves to higher altitude, and released their payload.

Eighteen SLAM-ERs streaked away in rapid succession toward their carefully selected targets. Most of the missiles were targeted at various facilities of the naval base near Joyeah City: weapons and fuel depots, dry docks, and other facilities to repair and rearm Joyean warships. But 3 weapons had been sent to destroy headquarters and government buildings elsewhere in the city identified as having been involved in planning or directing the attack on the cruise ship Voyager.

The six fighters quickly reversed course away from the Joyean coastline, trusting to the AEW plane patrolling over the Mitheldalondian fleet to warn them of any pursuing Joyean fighters. Their swing-wings swept backwards as the aircraft accelerated to mach 2.5, intent on reaching the cover of the fleet's SAM network before the Joyeans could retaliate.

And retaliation was expected. The Mitheldalondian fleet had moved to a wartime footing, taking precautions to avoid detection and ensure their ability to counter any threat before it could attack their ships. Presumably, the Joyeans would scramble fighters to pursue the Thunderhawks, and later send search aircraft to locate the Mitheldalondian fleet. It was a safe bet that any surface ships or submarines present at the naval base when it was hit would also sortie out to engage their attackers. Correspondingly, anti-submarine patrols around the fleet had intensified, and air defenses were all on alert.

"BREAKING NEWS! Navy officials announced during a press conference today that the government had authorized air strikes against targets in Joyea in retaliation for the killing of five Mitheldalondian citizens at the hands of Joyean Storm Commandos.

"Government officials also addressed Langenian threats of unrestricted submarine warfare, saying that - as such tactics are almost guaranteed to result in the sinking of many neutral or civilian vessels - the Mitheldalondian Navy has been issued 'sink-on-sight' orders regarding all Langenian submarines. This policy will remain in effect until Langenia discontinues the use of unrestricted submarine warfare.

"The embassies of several Osean allies have also been forcibly ejected from Langenia, and while Mitheldalond is not formally allied with the Osean States, there are concerns that we will be faced with similar treatment. When asked about this, officials affirmed that the Mitheldalondian Embassy to Langenia is - as are all embassies - the sovereign territory of Mitheldalond, but declined to comment on whether or not the government would comply with such demands."

" The Request has been granted and troops shall be sent Immediately." General Frederickson said to his aid for transfer to the the spec-ops in the field. A groan could be heard from the Logistics office as the entire division simultaneously slumped in exasperation. "Good luck with the pencil-pushers sir." The aid. laughed. "I sure as hell will need it. Now back to work."

Lacienia City Naval Base 6000

The first convoy set sail at dawn with the many ships on a line straight to the Joyean Coast. The ten transports carrying a total of 100,000 men in their deep and crowded hulls. Despite the obvious threat of attack, the soldiers were happy and felt safe as they could look out and see the fleet of ships surrounding them for protection. A plane buzzed overhead as it. flew over the convoy in a submarine check of the fleet. The hospital ship and its 3 rescue ships were at the heart of the fleet alongside the transports.

Now all the diplomatic momentum is moving towards Osean."

"All the supporters of Salafism [SNC] and Kurdish communism [SDF] must be punished no matter the cost!", came the rather irate response from Reich Minister of Justice George Thierack. "In that same vein, did you not hear about the paratrooper jump over Osean, or the massive bomber raid, which happened even before the sinking of a hospital ship? The Joyeans and their allies are on the offensive and we must strike while the iron is hot!"

"Herr Obermann, Herr Thierack has a point. Joyea and her allies have offensive momentum, and our entry into the war at this point will allow us to ride it all the way to victory.", said the Reich Minister of War Generalfeldmarschall Kurt von Seekt (ret.).

"Furthermore, a Joyean victory, or even a white peace, will open up much opportunities for us.", the Reich Minister of Economics and President of the Reichsbank Alexander Hugenberg added. "War losses, infrastructure reconstruction and mass replacement of obsolete weapons would create a demand for goods and services Germany can supply."

The sergeant-at-arms signaled that the Kaiser would speak. At once the ministers ceased their bickering and fell silent. His Majesty then spoke "I have made my decision. We will join this conflict on the side of Joyea to punish the supporters of Salafism [SNC] and to take a part in the future spoils of war. However, we will not declare war from the get-go, unless we recieve or are included in such, but we will move our forces into Joyea first. Gentlemen, this meeting is adjourned. Go and make the according preparations."
