The largest expenditure of the PM's annual budget is usually either Education and related fixed expenses or Healthcare and Welfare and related fixed expenses. Most of the time within a decade the Education budget tends to be in the lead (on average since the last 70 years education has been the largest expenditure in seven out of ten years, closely followed by healthcare spending). Both tend to be around 20% of the budget each or around 8% of the entire GDP each.

The War Division gets 59.4% of the budget, with Industry and Education running a distant second and third.

The WA stats people insist on calling the War Division "Defense" for some weird reason. We certainly aren't spending that kind of money just to defend ourselves. That budget is mostly for invading and annexing other places. The fact that it means we have a huge army sitting around ready to defend us when we're not busy invading something else is just bad luck for would-be attackers. (Of course, we hold back enough of a force to maintain security even when we are invading some other place.)
