Megistos Official Roster For IFC1

Postby Megistos » Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:26 pm

Formation:
4-2-3-1 (Attack)
Players:
Trevor Drummond (Goalkeeper)
Trevor is an absolute star for this team, although we have many of them. He's made many saves, and he has high reflexes and is very tall. In his last game, Trevor managed to save 18 out of 18 shots against the Megistian League's second best team, proving that he is a world class goalkeeper.
Morris Mcnally (Left Back)
One of the most smartest in the team, Mcnally has a reputation of being a coach for when the coach can't be there, with Kaydan Mercado replacing him. He has a wide variation of tactics that he created and will only share to his teammates, and when tactics require switching to a 3-5-2, he is a amazing back-up left-winger. He is one of the oldest on this team, 30, so he has enough time to lead a team
Jayson Fletcher (Center Back)
Jayson is one of our young talents, often being compared to De-Jong and even Maldini. He is amazing, but he is a bit rough, as he's in the military, so he's gotten about 5 red cards, all of them mainly because he shoved and kicked. He knows where the opponent is going and his estimated worth is M100,000,000 Tacos, meaning he is on 2nd on our list of most expensive in the Megistian League, and on top 100 in world. Last year, only 2 people were able to get past him, both on this team. This year he's turned 23 and he just moved to Megistos City Ravens, the top team in the league
Frankie Christensen (Center Back)
He is good, but not as skilled as Jayson. He serves as a defender who will help the attackers out, leaving Jayson behind. He was so good at attacking Delios United tried to sign him and make him as a striker, but he rejected, saying his loyalty is with Hide Beach CF. He scored 9 goals last season, with 2 assists.
Lane De Beek (Right Back)
Lane will always come at you, no matter what. This has resulted in good stuff, because when under pressure, Lane can force others to move toward him, as he is a defender who can outsmart others and score goals. In fact, even though he gets this, he barely scores goals, but is the number 1 assister.
Shannon Jackson (Center Defensive Midfielder)
Jackson is also quite young, going in on 25, but he is a amazing player. He can help offense and defense with plays, can play almost any position, and is quite strong, also being in the military. He is quite short, making him quite fast and agile, so he can easily score goals, with 14 goals on his name./i]
Jessie Lam (Center Defensive Midfielder) (Captain)
[i]No words needed other than best player on the team

Olivier Tillman (Center Attacking Midfielder)
He has talent, he simply hasn't used it. He used to be on the bench, but with our former CAM retired, we had to make a replacment, and Oliver Tillman was almost as good as other players, just that he lacks the experience. Only played 24 games, but has started to show his true skills.
Daniel Walcott (Left Winger)
Daniel is a beast, with his pace and skills, he like the next CR7 that's a bit younger and worser. He is one of the best on out team, and he is a great talent, with him turning 27 next week.
Kane Guerrero (Right Winger)
Kane is one of the oldest, with 32 years, he's a great player, he hasn't shown declinement, and actually he shows improvement over the years. He's real bulky, having been in the army for the 3rd Megistian Civil War, and he is a brick wall, not allowing any balls getting pass him and making opposing defenders have many mistakes that lead up to his goals.
Charlie Oakley (Striker)
Charlie Oakley is our youngest, being 18, but he's amazing. He's a total nightmare for defenders, and he's being compare to the greats of Megistos.
Irving Wood (Sub)
Kaydan Mercado (Sub)
Kameron Kemp (Sub)
Alvin Higgs (Sub)
Kaeden Bernard (Sub)
Caden Prosser (Sub)

Sylestone roster for IFC I

Postby Sylestone » Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:57 pm

Style Modifier: -4
Formation: 5-3-2
RP allowances: Go ahead, do whatever you want. No more than two red cards or three yellows.

Brick Wall
Position: Goalkeeper
About: The Brick Wall is quite literally a Brick Wall in the goals, stopping almost every shot. However, his dimensions are far off the dimensions of a soccer goal, so goals still go in as he shuffled around.
Dirty Tactics: Ramming into the occasional striker who dribbles the ball towards him instead of just shooting.

Ironing Board
Position: Defender
About: The Ironing Board is well known across Sylestone for his brilliant defence and his ability to stop almost every dribbling striker in their tracks.
Dirty Tactics: Used his flexible legs to stop the ball from passing through the defence and uses his iron to warn off opposing strikers with its heat.

Dishwasher
Position: Defender
About: The Dishwasher is an interesting character in the Sylestonean defence. His large body stops a lot of balls from going into the goalmouth.
Dirty Tactics: Speed water everywhere in the defence, especially in the second half, which bogs the playing field, stopping many offensive moves in their tracks.

Tumble Dryer
Position: Striker
About: One of Sylestone’s main two strikers, the Tumble Dryer is a brilliant but inaccurate goal scorer for the Sylestonean side. One to watch.
Dirty Tactics: Spins the ball around in his Dryer and flings it at the goal. Also shuts the machine and carries the ball inside it.

Washing Machine
Position: Defender
About: Another large sentient object in the defence, the Washing Machine is once again, another player who stops many offensives with his large body.
Dirty Tactics: Is basically a combination of the Dishwasher and Tumble Dryer. Spews water everywhere and flings the ball out of himself at odd angles.

Sofa
Position: Defender
About: Sylestone's defence is full of their largest sentient athletes and the Sofa is the largest of them. His defence has been the best all tournament and he runs the backline. A lot will be reliant on him if Sylestone are to get a respectable result in the CoH.
Dirty Tactics: Can speak into the minds of opposition, giving them a feeling of wanting to sit down and relax.

Fridge:
Position: Midfielder
About: Another large object, but this time it is located in Sylestone's midfield. He is the king of dirty tactics and runs opponents down with his buff body. Easily the most laughable of all of the Sylestonean Appliances.
Dirty Tactics: Has many of them, most of which can't be named. His main one is shutting his door and running towards the goal with the ball inside. Others include his super-appliance jumping skills and cold breath.

Bar Stool
Position: Midfielder
About: If the Fridge is the dirtiest, the Bar Stool is the cheekiest. He doesn't have any of his own dirty tactics, but he "allies" with another object and uses them to perform his own. Definitely an unpredictable character and one to watch out for.
Dirty Tactics: One of his tactics is to be the one who kicks the ball inside the Fridge when he goes off on his run. He also stands on other objects to reach high balls.

Drawer
Position: Defender
About: One of Sylestone's lesser defenders, the Drawer is quite a stationary object in the defence. He stands in your road and doesn't let you past and is more of a sweeper. Still, a force to be reckoned with, though.
Dirty Tactics: Keeps the ball in one of his chests when they are doing well so the opposition has a lesser chance of scoring.

Stove:
Position: Midfielder
About: I always thought a Stove without pots and pans would be useless, but it isn't so. This stove has a couple of sneaky tricks up his sleeve and is certainly one of the Sylestonean players the opposition midfielders need to deal with sooner rather than later.
Dirty Tactics: Makes the air really hot around him, as opposed to the Fridge.

Mixer
Position: Striker
About: Arguably Sylestone's most valuable player, the Mixer is a star dribbler and striker. His goal scoring ratio isn't so great and that is mainly the Tumble Dryer's job, but he is the one that actually gets the ball to that point. However, he is quite unpredictable and sometimes his dribbling skills go horribly wrong, especially considering the ball is about the size of his body.
Dirty Tactics:
Weaves in and out of defenders with his tiny size and amazing dribbling skills. Gets unplugged a bit too often, though.

Reserves:
Table - Goalkeeper
Spiderwebs - Midfielder
Football: WC94 Qualifiers, CE35&36 semifinalists
Cricket: GCF WT20 XVI champions, ODI WT II semifinalists, GCF WT20 XV semifinalists, EspoT20 I&II champions
BoF 74, CoH 78, CoH 81, GCF WT20 XV, HWC 24, EspoT20 I&III

Formation: 4-4-2
Style Mod: +5 (very aggressive, the regular style is for the players is +0.5 which is still aggressive but the coach is very aggressive)

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Godmod scoring events: (Y)/N
RP injuries to my players: (Y)/N
Godmod injuries to my players: (Y)/N
Give yellow cards to my players: (Y)/N
Give red cards to my players: (Y)/N
Godmod other events: (Y)/N

Image

Coach: Qano Tum

Starting Lineup:
Goalkeeper: #1 Adly Readko
Defender: #2 Todor Orman
Defender: #3 Igor Neifk
Defender: #4 Veng Sionli
Defender: #5 Adly Edoan
Midfielder: #6 Ordo Manek
Midfielder: #7 Edio Bardu
Midfielder: #8 Vesna Imper
Midfielder: #9 Arkdogru Werne (C)
Forward: #10 Modic Olnod
Forward: #11 Liup Strucib

Play style: the coach is very aggressive even though that doesn’t match the absolutely balanced style of the players and therefore the coach might be fired after this tournament. he likes to press high without the ball and use long balls to attack when they have the ball.

style mod is what you use for xkorante, -5 for defensive, +5 for attacking, 0 for balanced. You can go up to the thousandths (e.g +1.098 is allowed, +1.0987 isn't)

Sylestone is a tropical island nation located in the Independent region of Lardyland. IFC1 Underway!

Wow, how time passes by. The IFC1 was created, 6 teams joined in, and now for the first match of the tournament Megistos was facing the hosts, Sylestone. The Megistians took their spaceships to Sylestone, seeing as it would take only about 30 seconds to reach their that way. They lowered and saw Sylestone. Sylestone in ways was like Megistos and different from Megistos. First, you could see that they were beautiful, not that Megistos weren't, but because of 10 ton anti-matter bombs hitting the sun... Megistos was kind of different. Even now, in the nuclear winter caused by the suicide of the nation Krystalveil, Megistos was dark, covered by snow, unlike this paradise. The Megistians had got off the spaceship and were heading toward the hotel they'd be staying for the rest of the tournament. The Megistian team were thinking about their youth squads, and the games against the teams. Could they cruise to the knockout stage, like the U-18 team did, and then go to the final? The U-18s didn't yet, because the tournament was in the semi-finals, which the U-18s were in. Or would they not make it out, like the U-21 team, who is starting to get doubts for reaching the knockouts. But the squad couldn't worry about it, as the game against the hosts would show.

With only six teams, Sylestone is in the only group of the IFC I with Megistos, The Jovannic, Liberal Democratic Socialists, Eurasies and Tikariot.
It looks interesting and certainly a young pool of teams and the winners? We shall see. Do NOT write us off just yet, though.

Megistos:
A side coming through the ranks of international football, Megistos' youth are in the semifinals of the SWC, or Under-18 World Cup. Although they are yet to play a World Cup, they certainly fancy their chances, especially at the Baptism of Fire. We shall wait and see what they bring.

The Jovannic:
The most experienced side of the group, The Jovannic have been around for a couple of World Cups. They will be looking to dominate like they would against this pool of teams in the proper World Cup, they are a force to be reckoned with and one of the favourites for the trophy.

Liberal Democratic Socialist States:
A new and unknown side, LDSS have a very aggressive lienup who will do whatever they can o get past the determined defence of the Sylestonean Appliances.

Eurasies:
Another unknown side, Eurasies also seem to have a string aggressive lineup. They will undoubtedly cause problems for the Sylestonean defence, but with a more experienced side, Sylestone might just be able to keep them at bay.

Tikariot:
Tikariot are another side with no World Cup experience, although they will be playing in World Cup 86 and BoF 73. They have another strong forward line, but not one that an in-form Ironing Board will be able to withhold. They will possibly be one of Sylestone’s biggest threats throughout the tournament.
Football: WC94 Qualifiers, CE35&36 semifinalists
Cricket: GCF WT20 XVI champions, ODI WT II semifinalists, GCF WT20 XV semifinalists, EspoT20 I&II champions
BoF 74, CoH 78, CoH 81, GCF WT20 XV, HWC 24, EspoT20 I&III

the nation known as Liberal Democratic Socialist States is considered defensive compared to other nations, as its lineup is not aggressive by any means, and with an aggressive coach the team will not go far. however it’s possible that the combination of the balanced lineup of LDSS combined with the aggressiveness of the coach will help the team get far. our nation is new to soccer but so are many nations here so we expect to finish in upper mid table.

The picture opens up to TSG TV's studio in Sylestone, with three gentlemen in neat suits and ties looking expectantly at the camera.

Alistair McIntosh: Good day ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our coverage of the IFC1 from Avondale, Sylestone. I'm Alistair McIntosh and you might know me from "Football Tikariot" where we cover the Tikariotian Premier league here on TSG TV and joining me tonight is our dynamic duo Duncan Haldane and Martin Seagrave who will be your in-stadium commentators for this tournament, welcome gentlemen.

Duncan Haldane & Martin Seagrave: Thanks for having us.

Image

McIntosh: So the IFC1 is Tikariot's first international football tournament, how do we look?

Haldane: Well, there are a lot of unknowns here, not just us. Eurasies, the Liberal Democratic Socialist States, Sylestone, all virtual blank pages in the book of football. The Jovannic has the experience and of late Megistos seems to be on the rise internationally as well, so it's really difficult to gauge where we're standing in this.

McIntosh: Then let's take a look at our team and see what we are dealing with. In goal we have Stephen Heinrich from Miruan City, a side that has been yo-yoing of late, what makes him the number one?

Seagrave: Stephen has the disadvantage of playing in a very inconsistent team. The fact that they have been able to have mostly avoided the lower leagues in the past few years is to a good part thanks to Stephen's talent and it says a lot that he has withstood recent offer from Pyathora and Carathyr to join their teams.

McIntosh: Our back four with Keith Farnham, Randy Kovalchuk, James Coronello and Damian Hernandez.

Haldane: Randy and James are a really tight central duo, very strong in the air and with a decent build-up game. Randy is a bit limited technically, but he knows how to use his body to the fullest extent of the law, so to say.

Seagrave: On the left side Keith has speed and forms a great duo with Tristan Nancarrow, but his biggest weakness is that he sometimes gets a little too offensive-minded and his speed can only cover so much of that. Damian is maybe the player that's the most 'on the bubble'. He's been great with the Bul Khungur Miners in the league, but internationally he has shown a lot of jitters and depending on how the first two games go, he has Vincent Liniack breathing right down his neck.

Haldane: In the midfield we have our anchor Rory McNeir from the Parakleion Firebirds, he's not the most filigree player, but he has a tremendous understanding of the game and he knows where the opposing player will be before they do. Him and Giovanni Vacarese on the right form a very tight duo and that will probably get even tighter with McNair having announced his transfer to the Pyathora Mariners to join up with Giovanni. Giovanni's biggest weakness is a lack of physicality, but this kid has enough talent to dribble a knot into the opponents' legs, plus he has a wicked free-kick as well.

McIntosh: So that leaves our frontline, which many people call our biggest strength.

Seagrave: And I tend to agree, since I'm one of them. Gaiza Iribarren from Baraldhur AFC is one of the break-out players of the season, just in his first season in the Premier League. He is coming from the academy of the Vna-Chuhul Ravens and he really stirred up the league, third best in assists. On the right side Tristan Nancarrow is a speedy winger, going hand in hand with Farnham in the back, who also has great technique, just has to still figure out where the goal is, because last season he just scored three tiems for the Carathyr Emeralds.

Haldane: But our biggest threat is right down the middle with Graydon Sheffield. He's one of the reason why Pyathora has been such a powerhouse in the last few years, because he has the power and football sense to know exactly where to go to get the balls that are fed to him and scoring 32 goals last season and 89 over the last three prove that he is pretty much a must upfront.

McIntosh: Thank you for your thoughts on our starting eleven for the IFC1. Unfortunately we are out of time, but join us tomorrow for Tikariot's first game against The Jovannic here in the Avondale International Soccer Stadium with Duncan and Martin manning the microphones. Thanks for tuning in and good night.

So, we lost. I expected you lads to take this tournament seriously! The next world cup is coming! We cannot play like we played today. We let what's considered a rookie team get past our usually rock-solid defence! How could we let that happen? Raye, you were so much more lazy than usual! the forwards were sloppy! What were you guys doing!

It's just unlucky. We were cocky, and we must do better.

GOOD WORDS! NOW DO THAT!

Yes Gothal.

Go and smash Slyestone!

YES!

Sylestone get intense 1-0 win over Megistos

Postby Sylestone » Fri Jul 24, 2020 12:32 am

"I'm proud. Megistos are good. They have a strong lineup and may well be Baptism of Fire favourites at the rate they're going. They have a supremely good U18 side, who are in the semifinals of the Sporting World Cup. We played really well, but we're going to have to up our game for Eurasies and The Jovannic, who is easily the most experienced side in the entire IFC. But it's a stepping stone, and hopefully, a win in this tournament will show the world that our... debacle last World Cup shall not happen again.
For the rest of the IFC, Eurasies absolutely slaughtered LDSS, so they look a threat. That's not to write off their opponents, who will be wildcards in tournaments to come. Tikariot also recorded a surprise win against The Jovannic, so they will look to be threats. But we can do it. We know we can."

During the entirety of the first half, The Appliances and Megistos both played possession football and only a mere two shots were on target, two for each team. Only five shots were taken at all. However, in the second half, both sides decided that a draw was not a satisfactory result, so they upped their game a little bit with both sides forwards putting together a few runs forward. In the 69th minute, a Megistos midfielder somehow managed to slip their way past the Ironing Board in the defence and it was only a brilliant save deflected onto the crossbar by the Brick Wall that stoped a certain Megistian goal and being put 1-0 behind. The Mixer then realised that it needed to do something pretty quick and in the 78th minute, something finally gave way. The Mixer put together a brilliant run forward and was only stopped in the penalty area by a slide tackle on his "legs". A penalty was awarded and the Bar Stool slotted it in. An ecstatic 49,000-strong crowd (full capacity) yelled a triumphant, deafening yell that easily overcame the Megistians in there. With the goal, every Appliance began playing on the defence while Megistos played all-out attack. A stop by the Washing Machine resulted in a penalty in '90+4 and the crowd was once again on the edge of its seat. They were off it when the Brick Wall somehow pulled out a brilliant deflection onto the post and the final whistle blew. Sylestonean supporters converged on their national team at once and the celebrations went on until very late that night.
However, with their next game against Eurasies, a table-topping side who won 5-1 against LDSS, they know that they're going to need to train harder than ever to get a victory.

See you after the game against Eurasies at Chamberley Institute of Sport in Chamberley.

Postby Megistos » Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:19 am

Mixer in the box, he cuts inside, BUT DE BEEK SLIDE TACKLES MIXER AND MIXER TRIPS! THE REF CALLS FOR A FOUL! PENALTY!

Bar Stool steps up to take the penalty, AND SLOTS IT HOME! THE HOSTS ARE WINNING WITH A SHOT DOWN THE MIDDLE, WHILE THE GOALKEEPER DIVES LEFT! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

Megistos played well, but not well enough to beat Sylestone, nor get the draw. Megistos currently sits at 4th, and facing the 2nd placed team, Tikariot, Megistos has changed their formation into a 4-5-1, the ones that played Sylestone on the Starting XI

The picture opens back up to TSG TV's studio in Sylestone, Alistair McIntosh ready in front of a big screen cycling through the faces of Tikariot players.

Alistair McIntosh: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to TSG TV. I'm Alistair McIntosh and game one is done and we are off to a good start, but let's hand this over to Duncan Haldane and Martin Seagrave for the highlights of yesterday's game.

Duncan Haldane: The Avondale International Soccer Stadium in Avondale was filled to the brim for the opening game of the first ever IFC1. 86500 avid fans were cheering their respective team on, with a sizable contingent of Tikariot fans turning their end of the stadium in a sea of black and purple. The Jovannic's starting eleven was as follows: Mavin Tsuniki in goal, with the back four of Kish Dasny, Raye Eng, Kallin Yustat and Nivario Wesh in front of him. Stockain Lelop and Jin Tze make up the admittedly very thin midfield in The Jovannic's behind the offensive line of Rivilia Yunsala, Juyt Dersa, Thomas Behine and Jovan Ilohil.

Martin Seagrave: Our team consisted of Stephen Heinrich in goal, Keith Farnham, Randy Kovalchuk, James Coronello and Damian Hernandez in defense. Our three man midfield machine of Nick Goulan, Rory McNair and Giovanni Vacarese (Right midfielder) and, of course, our offensive threat Tristan Nancarrow, Graydon Sheffield and Gaizka Iribarren.

Haldane: The Jovannic were considered the favourites in this match due to their previous involvement in the World Cup and they took an early command of the game, trying to put pressure on the Tikariot defense from the get-go, but without any substantial threats to Heinrich's goal. Playing out of a high-line defense, Coach Gonzal Mathee had Jin Tze be the fulcrum between defense and offense, trying to put the frontline into scoring positions and while especially Behine was set up a couple of times, the centre duo of Kovalchuk and Coronello cleared away most of the balls, with Heinrich taking care of the rest. It took until about 25 minutes until Tikariot began to take control of the game and Rory McNair played a central role, intercepting a lot of The Jovannic's attacks and leading a controlled build up in return.

Seagrave: The biggest chance came in the 32nd minute, when Mavin Tsuniki cleared a free kick by Giovanni Vacarese with a great reaction, saving The Jovannic from what seemed like a sure goal. This scoring chance was a turning point for the game, with Tikariot pushing harder, coninciding with The Jovannic's play beginning to get sloppier. Raye Eng in defense allowed Graydon Sheffield to slip through the cracks several times, allowing the Pyathora forward more than one scoring chance with only Mavin Tsuniki preventing damage. He was not so lucky, though, just before half-time when a mistake by Jovan Ilohil brought the ball to Keith Farnham on the left side. A quick pass forward to Tristan Nancarrow tore apart the Jovannic defense and after a run to the goal line the Carathyr winger chipped the ball back to Nick Goulan who at full speed drilled the ball at the Jovannic goal, hitting the crossbar past an already beaten Tsuniki. Gaizka Iribarren was the first to react to pick up the rebound and from 5 metres slotted the ball low into the back of the net to give Tikariot the lead.

Haldane: Coach Mathee reacted at half time, taking off both Eng and Ilohil, replacing them with Maruo Mulchaio and Deingh Kian respectively, trying to bring more order into his team. On the other side Stuart Ekstrom replaced right back Damian Hernandez with Vincent Liniack. For the first 20 minutes of the second half not much changed compared to the end of the first, with The Jovannic sloppy and unfocused and Tikariot with a well organized backline and the confidence of a lead. The final change for The Jovannic saw Gavon Simoli come on for Stockain Lelop, who had been mostly non-existent throughout the first 70 minutes and he did bring in some fresh energy, able to put especially Deingh Kian into good positions, but Kovalchuk and Coronello's towering presence in the back took care of almost everything.

Seagrave: But despite this resurgence The Jovannic were no closer to actually equalizing. Tikariot then took off Nancarrow and Iribarren in favour of Michael Yarbrough and Nathan Ekpetita in the 80th minute and with that things went from bad to worse for The Jovannic. A long pass by Liniack found Goulan completely uncovered on the left side, who flicked it on to Yarbrough. Under great pressure by Nivario Wesh he managed to bring in a sharp cross, which found Ekpetita also without a marker. The Valnohar Rovers forward took the risk and hammered the volley right under the crossbar, leaving Tsuniki without a chance. This broke whatever spirit remained in the Jovannic team and with that all coherent attacks. Pulling back, Tikariot managed to cover all open spaces and the attacks did not have enough punch or spirit to cause any risk to the Tikariotian defense.

McIntosh: All in all a great start to the tournament for Tikariot and a thoroughly disappointing performance by The Jovannic. Goals by Iribarren and Ekpetita took care of a harmless opponent and next up we are going against Megistos at the Sunlife Stadium in Halperley, who had lost against hosts Sylestone 0-1 in their first match of the IFC. As usual we will be there live to cover the game and let's see how the story continues.
