Probably something stupid enough to hurt him under normal circumstances, but not stupid enough to hurt him given the strange circumstances we are in now.

My Money is on Bass. It’s always the least one you expect

Bass has a shot, but after comparing Trump to George Wallace, she said she had "no aspirations" to run in 2024 if she were the VP by that point. That later bit could mean she probably won't get the nod, especially since Democrats would want the future Democratic VP to run to hopefully avoid a contested primary.

That leaves Rice, Bottoms, Demings and Harris. The latter two are the more likely but carry the most baggage especially at this critical time.

I wouldn't count out Rice fully just yet: she certainly has the experience from being the UN Ambassador and National Security Adviser. She also has a strong friendship with Biden as well. That said, her lack of elective office and Benghazi are bound to haunt her though that's nowhere near the dirt that Harris has; Demings isn't too bad but definitely not ideal in this current political climate. Bottoms just lacks the State/Federal experience.

We know that there are 4 Black Women on Biden's VP Shortlist and likely four others though I can't confirm that latter point. This week they wrap up the vetting process and from there, Biden will be interviewing. We should be hearing something at the earliest, next week.

Biden: Trump is our first racist president.

Biden signaled that he shared the questioner’s concern that Trump frequently refers to the pandemic as the “China virus,” saying, “the way he deals with people based on the color of their skin, their national origin, where they’re from, is absolutely sickening.”

“No sitting president has ever done this,” Biden said. “Never, never, never. No Republican president has done this. No Democratic president. We’ve had racists, and they’ve existed, they’ve tried to get elected president. He’s the first one that has.”

Though Biden calls Trump the first racist to be president, history shows the United States has had leaders in the past who either were openly racists, such as enslavers, or expressed racist views or used racist language.
Hmmmmm nah mate i think you are wrong on that one.

Trump might be the first to make racism a campaign and policy feature.

So I'm hearing rumblings about the whole "everyone dropped out and endorsed Biden therefore primary rigged" going around again.

Problem is, isn't that just an admission that Sanders' support base wasn't as wide as everyone claimed if he was dependent on a split opposition in order to succeed?

Getting a little down In the weeds but there has been a massive upset in New York. 47 year incumbent assemblymen Joe Lentol has lost his primary to Emily Gallagher. The district contains the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn. No republican filed to run in this ultra blue district

Six other members of the assembly lost their primaries.

A partisan Democrat wholly invested in the party apparatus might see this as upsetting.
Perhaps I'm something else, because I see no problem an occasional change of the guard, especially at the Primary level.
It's evidence of healthy civil engagement as well as an unwillingness to let an incumbent keep their job 'just because.'

I'd still be willing to vote for that ticket, but not with any sense of real enthusiasm for it. Harris would be the worst possible choice on so many levels.

If the election were today, I'd vote for Hawkins/Walker

honestly Biden's VP will be a big deal for me. Bass is a 100% guarantee I vote for Biden. Harris is a 100% guarantee I vote Green.

If he picks somebody else, I'll need to look into their beliefs and policies to determine if I vote for him or not.
