I've changed my mind. Sorry, but I do that rather easily. I just read "put down" my way, and wasn't aware that "put down a protest" used to be perfectly valid idiom. It's archaic now, probably driven out of use by how "put down the horse" has the meaning of kill.

"Put down a protest" still has a sinister note to it, implying bodies on the ground when it's done. This is another way it's archaic, we don't want that to happen every time the police try to suppress a protest. A century ago maybe that was perfectly acceptable.

Still not nice, but not something you'd be warned for. Calling for people's deaths is over the line, but calling for police to use plenty of force on protesters ... I'm really not sure.

I think you have grounds to appeal, at least. If you misused a single word in a way that was offensive, no chance. But an idiom, which does all alternative uses, might be a different matter.

Protesting is the art of encouraging everyone who likes you, while offending everyone who doesn't like you.

And some protesters aren't very artful. They accidentally offend friends, or accidentally encourage enemies.

If I could offer some advice ... don't burn flags, that offends too many people, but without making them think.

You can see the protestors throwing stuff at the cops. The Chicago Police department claims violence against the Police. I used to live in Chicago. Tbf, most modern depictions of Bruce Wayne are trauma victims that are just as mentally screwed up as his villains and are aware of that fact. Beating the everliving shit out of clowns while dressed as his fursona is just how Bruce copes.

Bruce Wayne is a controversial real estate developer known for buying high crime areas and Batman is his alter ego that pushes criminals into areas he wants to develop driving the price so low Bruce Wayne can buy it for a song. Then once Bruce buys the property Batman appears and drives the Criminals out allowing Bruce to attract investment and huge profit.

The Jack Napier ("Joker") is a social worker, that does stand up comedy as a side job, who has almost pieced together the truth when Bruce bribed a judge to have locked up in an asylum.
