1935-2000 Era War 4: New Beginnings (OOC)


Welcome to the 20th Century, specifically 1935 in our absolutely insane universe where armies number in the tens of millions and small wars lasting only a few months kill hundreds of thousands. It has been about 14 years since the end of The Nine Years War between the world’s two main alliances: The Western League and the Alliance of Republican Nations. After nine years of war, more than 82 million have died and the world is yet to have learnt its lessons. The Boer rebellions of 1924, The downfall and splitting of the Rannorian people. The rise of fascism and communism running rapid in the once great cities of the worlds old guard empires. The rise of new powers in the East, that of the likes of the Hoosier Alliance, The Nihonese and the coming of the Aydinirians.

The world has known little to no peace since empires clashed during the Great war, however a brief amount of silence has surprisingly graced it in a brief 5 year period. From 1930 to 1935, the rise of the Nihonese saw them come into a arms race with that of the aging yet still mighty Manticoran empire. The Aclusian Empire, an empire that has stretched millennia across the seas is bursting at its seams, a people wanting a change after years of bloodshed. The Hoosier alliance leading the powers of Indianum in terms of technological and military might, Aydinir following suite. The collapse of the massive Rusklandr confederation bringing the birth of smaller nations grabbing at whatever is left. The Norcourtian Empire, the only singular nation to not have fought the great war has developed into one of the worlds leading arms and trade dealing nations.

The Arengin Union, the Skartenians, mighty nations of the once equally mighty western league continue forward in this war torn world. Though plagued with memories of the great war, this has yet to stop neither for preparing themselves for when the time may come for another. To the North in Europeia, the years have been rather kind to the empire of the Twelve isles and Wargloria, that of which may be owed to the strict military doctrine of these elite nations themselves. And finally, the red rebirth of the Traansval brought forth by the power of the people's dive into communism.

For these nations, history continues to be written. However It is into this war torn world that you, nations both old and new, are thrust. Despite the loss of life, there has been no closure, for the issues which caused The Nine Year War have not been resolved. Dark clouds of war hover on the horizon and omens appear, heralding the deaths of millions more sometime soon. How soon, however, is up to you. Will the world experience a period of peace or will this be but a brief respite, the eye of the storm so to speak?

To lay down some guidelines and rules of what will be expected in this forum:

1. This is the early 20th Century. While technology is advanced, the level of advancement is still very much up in the air. Certain things, such as Higgins boats, Liberty Ships, and early 1940s field artillery, are permitted while other things, like tanks, planes, warships, and weapons, can only be employed in the same year they were employed IRL. Specific exceptions can and will be made upon review by myself and my Co-OPs.

2. No controlling other people's attacks, unit reactions, or anything of the like. This is a particular pet peeve of mine and it can ruin a good thread.

3. No shrugging off enemy actions like they don't affect you; it is okay on occasion to have a counter, or to intercept the enemy's master-stroke; but you are not meta, and you will be unable to defend against all their blows. This even goes as far as to include the effects of foreign political moves, such as trade embargoes. Your ability to counter these moves will depend greatly on your ability to retain the support of other nations and maintain intelligence networks in foreign lands.

4. No name-calling, harassment, flaming, or any other toxic behavior will be tolerated. Constructive criticism is appreciated; bullying is not tolerated.

5. No spamming or posting out-of character in the IC thread; we'll either keep this open for out of game chatter, or start a new thread for it later on. We also maintain a Discord, where you can discuss various things.

6. Population sizes will be judged on an individual basis, with the OPs taking into account the region claimed.

7. This should be a given but the OPs word is law. Whether it is myself, Arengin, or anyone either of us designates as a Co-OP, just do as we ask.

8. Realistic accuracy and things of that nature; your scouts won't be able to open fire at other troops at 2 miles range, no matter how good they are with their rifles.

9. Berserkers are a no-go; you may have similar, or troops of imposing stamina, size, or ferocity but they won't be able to take ten shots from a high-powered rifle and keep on trucking.

10. Last but not least, no superweapons. You may design your own weapons if you so feel the need, but I'd prefer images be provided for realism, and you CANNOT have a weapon that can kill an entire army. Superweapons include bio-weapons and atomic weapons. Chemical weapons are allowed, as they tend to have low effective fatality rates.

ADDITIONAL RULES
Military forces will be determined based on population. The maximum number of people you can have in your standing army will depend on whether you have a Conscript or Volunteer military. Conscript forces can maintain a maximum of 3% of their population under arms in standing, active duty forces while Volunteer forces can maintain 1% of their population as active troops. Nations using Conscript Armies can also have up to 12% of their population as Trained Reservists. Nations using Volunteer Armies will have more professional and better trained troops, as a result of their longer service lengths and their status as volunteers indicating a determination to do their best.

Of vital importance is your workforce, eligible population, and the people reaching military age each year. These numbers are used to determine how resilient your nation will be to the attritional warfare that will dominate the military aspect of this RP. The workforce (people in your factories) will be 53.3% of your population. The eligible population (People of the right age range and health to be drafted into your military) will be 44%. The people reaching military age each year (those reaching the age of roughly 18 in that particular year and therefore available for immediate conscription) will be 1.3% of your population.

National goals: The U.S.S.K works to protect their goods and resources and to keep their workers safe but also work to gain power and money. Power to destroy their foes and gain money to increase the motherland's wealth.

Nation's Leader: Sviatoslav Vladimir III

National Government:
The U.S.S.K work different than most nation and their own system, the leader of the U.S.S.K is a king elected by the population, once a king is elected, usually at the young age of 15-18 they are than send to a special school, which will teach and train them to be the king of the nation. But once they finish their learning and train only one student will be elected to become the king but before they become king they are first made into the king's helper, doing their best to help the current king run the nation. Once the current king is either too old to lead the nation which ranges from 50-65 years of age or passed away, the king's helper will then become the new king of the nation.

The king doesn’t have absolute power over the nation, before a king can do an action of declaring war on another nation, the king must go to the 6 councilmen and have it voted on before the king can progress with the action. The 6 councilmen are the main people that run the nation for the king. There are three divisions within the 6 councilmen, military, economy and social welfare , and within these divisions there are two councilman for each one. Under each councilmen are 5 headmen which deal with law enforcement, justice, public transport, governing towns and so on. Foreign relations and affairs, choosing a location for a new city/military factory and declaring war is done by the king and councilmen.

The reason that the monarch is still in place is due to the fact the nation is known for having a great king with outstanding leadership but the reason for the nation being a socialist was brought in is because of King Peter the IV. During his rule the nation suffered heavily from illness and wealth problems which soon started a civil war within the nation that lasted for 8 years. During the last year of the civil war, King Peter the IV was killed by Nicholas I, ending King Peter's rule. Nicholas took the throne and reorganized the government adding the 6 councilmen and built the kingsman school and made the nation a mix of monarch and socialist to help the nation after what Peter the IV had done to it.

Year 1923 - A few years after the collapse of Ruskland, the Slavic, a group of people that used to be under the rule of the Ruskland formed their own government under monarch with Ivan II, a man who led the people through the terror of the Ruskland rule being their king.
Year 1924 - The Slavic begin to rebuild their motherland as Ivan II leads them but during this time, Ivan's best friend, Peter IV, plans to kill Ivan II in his sleep and take over for his own goals. Mainly wanted to have the power of ruling over people and having great amounts of wealth at his fingertips.
Year 1926 - It has been two year since the death of Ivan II, and Peter IV has taken over the nation with the lie that Ivan II had given him the crown during his final moment. Under Peter IV rule the nation would gain more land but at the cost of the people's life as he slowly led the nation into the ground because of his greed.
Year 1927-1931 - A Civil war broke out in the nation due to Peter IV's rule, the civil war would last for four years. During the final years of the civil war, Nicholas I leading the group going against Peter IV killed Peter and took the throne. During Nicholas I rule he would reform the government and add the 6 councilman, the headman and socialist to help the nation after what Peter IV had done.

National history: The Emirate of Fabuhad was originally known as Fumbatu, though after the rise of Islam and arabic conquests and colonization the region became known as Fabuhad.

The men were killed or died from dehydration before help could arrive.

Nation name: Blue Republic of Aimesland

National goals: Coexist philosophy, sustain Atheism and Anti-Theism, remain a freedom-loving state and the continued enshrinement of Aimeslandish culture.

Nation's Leader: President Sprout Winston

National Government: Democratic Republic, also a rule-by-youth/Teenager or Young Adult state. Elections are every eight years (Sprout is 26 and would be 35 by the next election, and thus, too old to rule anymore. She's a special case, though, being young, but being the fourth oldest President.), and instead of placing papers in a ballot, Aimeslandish place sticks in a basket to vote. ("Basket Democracy" or "Basketcase Democracy")

Second-terms are possible, if the President is young enough.

Aimesland is a unitary state.

National history: Before its republican and Young Adult State days, Aimesland was an Environmental Anarchy in which people skipped and frolicked around, as well as a nudist "state." The Aimeslandish had a set of primal religions (Animism, Idol Worship, Voodoo and various nature goddesses) before becoming an atheistic and anti-theistic state. Nomads from the South would show them how to "be civilized," which started Aimesland as we know it.

Blue became the nation's national color, and Aimeslandish were now devoted to Democracy and its principles. Systems started to develop (much like any ex-anarchy reverting to statehood) and relations w/ other Continental powers were established. Aimesland continued to go without a civilwar because they hugged and talked it out instead of letting their anger and wrath consume them into tearing up the nation.

The Aimeslandish embraced the Industrial Revolution, as well as many other revolutions, and the 'Free the Nipple!" movement would be created, and movements protesting against underclothing. The President met with the leaders of the movements, and passed all of their ideas into Law. Feminism didn't take Aimesland by Storm because there was no sexism or misogyny. Girls already had the right to vote since the Republic was established, so it was a nonissue to debate this.

Veganism, Vegetarianism and the Prohibition were hotly-contested issues in the Aimeslandish Senate, and thus, laws promoting these ideologies never came to pass. Socialism was a very appealing idea to the Aimeslandish, as already, they were Progressive and Liberal as well as open-minded. The Aimeslandish were, and still are, antifascist. Mob Mentality and Culture were passed into law, as well as Neighborhood Watch groups. Communism was banned, and all Communist thinkers were executed. The Socialist Experiment in Aimesland ended, though Aimesland wasn't fully Socialist but Socialist-friendly and even passed some laws offered by Social ideologues.

Ambercity continued to spiral into Degeneracy, though already being a Degenerate city-state/free city but now becoming more and more degenerate by the day.

  • Aimesland can also be considered a hippie state (nation of huggers and thinkers/lovers but also a people obsessed with flowers and floral things)
  • Pastel and bright/neon colors and Futuristic (Futurist as in the ideology/art style) architecture.
  • Very weird and avant-gaurd/garde, even to the neighbors of Aimesland.
  • Also a nation of foodies and dancers/artists.

    Aimesland can also be thought-of-as a College State due to emphasis on Education, though Highschool is essentially Kindergarten/Preschool or Artschool as Aimeslandish draw, paint, do sport, and other activities in Highschool and then join a Tribe in College (essentially a sorority/fraternity except focused around mastery of/around a certain activity, like Acting or Napping.) College and the rest of the Aimeslandish School System are the same. There is a "no uniform" policy as well as a policy supporting Bodily Autonomy as well as Drug Culture.

  • Chillax/Laissez-faire culture
  • Armed Republic (culture of weaponized/weapon-bearing people, as well as Fencing, Dueling and other practices and ofcourse, using shoes as weapons. Gun rights are very important to Aimerlandish, also. And anti-Anarcho-Pacifist rhetoric.)

Bio: She had many siblings, though mostly spent alot of time w/ her sisters. She never got in a scuffle or rivalry with them, though. When she was 04 years old, her parents placed her in fighting classes and Dojos. In Preschool, she had to skip some of it since her teachers noticed she was Gifted.

She focused s'more on fighting, being very good at it, but also continuing to focus on Art and the many painting and coloring techniques. Sprout was a very-well behaved girl at school, and always made an A+. She was the undisputed Beauty Queen in Primary, both not having any challengers and not having any because of how beautiful she was at her age. She continued w/ Beauty, Art, and Fighting, but then decided to pickup the Trombone and Trumpet.

Band Class was very hard for her because her fellow classmates had made-fun of her and bullied her, but also tried to sabotage her horns. She later switched schools because of this, though didn't play her horns at-school. She decided to play Saxophone, Accordion and Kazoo in band, and she made many friends with fellow saxophonists because of how impressive her Sax skills were. She then decided to juggle Juggling, Band/Music and Cheerleading.

She always noticed or had an interest in boys, but also in girls too. In the other school she went to, she was dating a flutist but then got in a Love Triangle with a Harmonicist. (Harmonica player) She stayed loyal to the flutist girl, though.

She stuck-around in Highschool, though her teachers told her that she could skip. She was the "gossip girl" or the "Chatty Patty," always striking-up conversations with both the boys and girls at her school, and rumors started floating around about her Talent.

She skipped half of College, realizing that she needed to "change the world," and so she began her running as the Presidential Hopeful.

She used "Kayfabe," or treated her life pre-politics as if it didn't happen and just went under a different character. When she was interviewed about her life, she said she was "the Goth one" or the girl that always sat by the Window on the bus. This made her very popular, as Aimeslandish felt like they could relate to the "Dark and Edgy girl" or the "Aloof-but-not-really-aloof" girl. This helped her to beat her enemy in the Debates and also win the Election.


Quirks: Fourth-oldest President (but still the youngest since they're a Young Adult state), very-skilled swordfighter and lancer, good at LaCrosse, Tennis and Bowling, Ambidextrous (somehow born that way), left-legged (mainly kicking or whatnot with her left leg), Unchallenged Beauty Queen in Primary (essentially Elementary school), Her favorite color is Purple, and she's also a very good musician.

Just looked at the map and the names of the lands are too small.

And, what aircraft then? Biplanes?

I was thinking about a Dutch parallel (which is why I chose those lands, plus, I didn't know y'all didn't use the irl map) but changed a bit (Liberalism,Youth state, etc. Yeah,the Dutch are liberal but I was thinking more of France's liberalism)

I'll have to discuss a new history? Why?

Yeah. I don't mind my popu. being small as I was going for a Holland sort of thing.

I guess I could be specific, but I'm not really good at Numbers.

It's 1935, the world is still on monoplanes and propellers, mate. No Jets until WW2 Era, it's not on IRL Earth, it's on a more intricate yet similar planet. So yeah, there are people with similar techs, but nothing too outlandish.

I mean, just edit your history so to not mention irl places and such: this world is separate from the real one. As well as the fact you might've interacted with other nations, but we can discuss that at a later time, for now just do a general history of your nation without irl influences.

And sorry about the map, but just pick out some general areas you wanna be in which are within the white claimable land, that or ask for any special land requests from other players and we'll accommodate you

that vibe'll still be there, but I guess since I said the Aimeslandish interacted w/ others, I'll say (though I do imagine them being isolationist. Prolly, they broke their isolationism like USA or Japan or maybe they had interactions pre-isolation like the Swiss)...

It all depends on your geographic location, so among the white areas please pick a general one

Or, if you see a piece of territory you particularly want, you can communicate with the player who controls that land and negotiate something with them

Aimesland is a unitary state.

National history: Before its republican and Young Adult State days, Aimesland was an Environmental Anarchy in which people skipped and frolicked around, as well as a nudist "state." The Aimeslandish had a set of primal religions (Animism, Idol Worship, Voodoo and various nature goddesses) before becoming an atheistic and anti-theistic state. Nomads from the South would show them how to "be civilized," which started Aimesland as we know it.

Blue became the nation's national color, and Aimeslandish were now devoted to Democracy and its principles. Systems started to develop (much like any ex-anarchy reverting to statehood) and relations w/ other Continental powers were established. Aimesland continued to go without a civilwar because they hugged and talked it out instead of letting their anger and wrath consume them into tearing up the nation.

The Aimeslandish embraced the Industrial Revolution, as well as many other revolutions, and the 'Free the Nipple!" movement would be created, and movements protesting against underclothing. The President met with the leaders of the movements, and passed all of their ideas into Law. Feminism didn't take Aimesland by Storm because there was no sexism or misogyny. Girls already had the right to vote since the Republic was established, so it was a nonissue to debate this.

Veganism, Vegetarianism and the Prohibition were hotly-contested issues in the Aimeslandish Senate, and thus, laws promoting these ideologies never came to pass. Socialism was a very appealing idea to the Aimeslandish, as already, they were Progressive and Liberal as well as open-minded. The Aimeslandish were, and still are, antifascist. Mob Mentality and Culture were passed into law, as well as Neighborhood Watch groups. Communism was banned, and all Communist thinkers were executed. The Socialist Experiment in Aimesland ended, though Aimesland wasn't fully Socialist but Socialist-friendly and even passed some laws offered by Social ideologues.

Ambercity continued to spiral into Degeneracy, though already being a Degenerate city-state/free city but now becoming more and more degenerate by the day.

  • Very weird and avant-gaurd/garde, even to the neighbors of Aimesland.
  • Also a nation of foodies and dancers/artists.

    Aimesland can also be thought-of-as a College State due to emphasis on Education, though Highschool is essentially Kindergarten/Preschool or Artschool as Aimeslandish draw, paint, do sport, and other activities in Highschool and then join a Tribe in College (essentially a sorority/fraternity except focused around mastery of/around a certain activity, like Acting or Napping.) College and the rest of the Aimeslandish School System are the same. There is a "no uniform" policy as well as a policy supporting Bodily Autonomy as well as Drug Culture.

  • Chillax/Laissez-faire culture
  • Armed Republic (culture of weaponized/weapon-bearing people, as well as Fencing, Dueling and other practices and ofcourse, using shoes as weapons. Gun rights are very important to Aimerlandish, also. And anti-Anarcho-Pacifist rhetoric.)

Bio: Many rumors surrounded her and her birth. Some say she was born at the 13th floor of an Aimeslandish hospital, and others say she was born in/near a lake or river. She had many siblings, though mostly spent alot of time w/ her sisters. She never got in a scuffle or rivalry with them, though. When she was 04 years old, her parents placed her in fighting classes and Dojos. In Preschool, she had to skip some of it since her teachers noticed she was Gifted.

She focused s'more on fighting, being very good at it, but also continuing to focus on Art and the many painting and coloring techniques. Sprout was a very-well behaved girl at school, and always made an A+. She was the undisputed Beauty Queen in Primary, both not having any challengers and not having any because of how beautiful she was at her age. She continued w/ Beauty, Art, and Fighting, but then decided to pickup the Trombone and Trumpet.

Band Class was very hard for her because her fellow classmates had made-fun of her and bullied her, but also tried to sabotage her horns. She later switched schools because of this, though didn't play her horns at-school. She decided to play Saxophone, Accordion and Kazoo in band, and she made many friends with fellow saxophonists because of how impressive her Sax skills were. She then decided to juggle Juggling, Band/Music and Cheerleading.

She always noticed or had an interest in boys, but also in girls too. In the other school she went to, she was dating a flutist but then got in a Love Triangle with a Harmonicist. (Harmonica player) She stayed loyal to the flutist girl, though.

She stuck-around in Highschool, though her teachers told her that she could skip. She was the "gossip girl" or the "Chatty Patty," always striking-up conversations with both the boys and girls at her school, and rumors started floating around about her Talent.

She skipped half of College, realizing that she needed to "change the world," and so she began her running as the Presidential Hopeful.

She used "Kayfabe," or treated her life pre-politics as if it didn't happen and just went under a different character. When she was interviewed about her life, she said she was "the Goth one" or the girl that always sat by the Window on the bus. This made her very popular, as Aimeslandish felt like they could relate to the "Dark and Edgy girl" or the "Aloof-but-not-really-aloof" girl. This helped her to beat her enemy in the Debates and also win the Election.


Quirks: Fourth-oldest President (but still the youngest since they're a Young Adult state), very-skilled swordfighter and lancer, good at LaCrosse, Tennis and Bowling, Ambidextrous (somehow born that way), left-legged (mainly kicking or whatnot with her left leg), Unchallenged Beauty Queen in Primary (essentially Elementary school), Starsign/Zodiac is Libra, Her favorite color is Purple, and she's also a very good musician.
