This isn't Nazi level stuff, but it is deliberately saying "Hate speech is wrong, except when directed at people we deem acceptable to spread hate speech toward, which happens to include entire identities of people who didn't do anything to warrant this.", which is a dangerous path to go on. I say this decision is a pile of bull the size of the Alps.

They could've simply gone with, "hate speech is wrong and we are taking a firmer stand against it", and most people would've applauded them or at least remain neutral to it.

Instead, they went for the longer statement of, "hate speech is wrong and we are taking a firmer stand against it, except when it's against the majority", and now they are pissing off a ton of people and emboldening bigots.

r/WhiteBeauty was meant as a counter to r/BlackBeauty of posting pictures of beautiful women in general. It was banned for anti-race mixing rhetoric and disallowing pictures of Jewish women.

Also, Doxxing can be stopped with simple post editing or removal. One bad banana doesn't always spoil the bunch.

Probably for the same reason r/the_donald wasn't banned until just now, too high profile. Reddit admins have a history of not reacting to rule-breaking in big subs until it's covered by the media. They're not going to ban r/conservative until some nut ends up doing something drastic there.

I'm also peeved they haven't banned state-sponsored stuff like r/sino, or subs that are actively spreading misinformation like r/conspiracy

r/the_donald was already dead because the admins gave them a really strict rule set some months ago, so they all went "fuck this" and created their own pro-Trump discussion site. Some commenter pointed out that it was like if Hitler had already shot himself and someone finds his corpse years later and shoots it and parades around like they stopped him. At the very least it's gone now, the Reddit community had been begging the admins FOR YEARS to get rid of it because of how toxic it was.

Honestly a lot of these subs might have already been dead or had very few members but were still banned for the good PR of taking down a thriving hate community.

That's practically just an intentionally manufactured controversy.

My best guess is that either a rule writer believed something along the lines of "discrimination against the majority is okay", or they wrote that rule to appeal to those types. Though it's still worded strangely if it was attempting that.

Like,

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

and

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect all groups or all forms of identity. For example, the rule does not protect groups of people who are in the majority or who promote such attacks of hate.

Lead to some strange conclusions. For example, depending on how "majority" is taken, white people could be protected from people posting from non-white majority countries, since they're not the majority there. Likewise for discriminating against non-whites in a majority non-white country, since they'd be the majority in that case. Same thing applies for various religions, too.

And "pregnancy" means I can't discriminate against the minority of people who are pregnant at any one time, but I can discriminate against non-pregnant people. They're really unclear about what majorities can be discriminated against.

All this and more because protecting people in the majority is such an intolerable idea or something.
