JECKLAND IC INFO

Overview

Jeckland is a large nation found in southeastern Esportiva. The population of the country is estimated to be around 100 million citizens. The country has fairly recently come out of an extended period of international isolation, explaining its absence from tournaments such as the World Lacrosse Championships in this time period.

Politics

Jeckland has an economically right wing and socially liberal government led by Jeck Hitchkin. Whilst income inequality is perhaps higher than in more socialist states, the government aims to create equality of opportunity, so that those who work hardest and are most skilled are able to climb the financial ladder. Jeckish people tend to be compassionate and enjoy extensive civil rights, with racial and sexual discrimination low in the country.

Food

Jeckland is a nation of meat eaters, with high amounts produced and consumed per capita. Whilst vegetarian options are offered in restaurants, the majority of food will be based upon meat. Potatoes and fruit are also popular. The most popular dish is the renowned Jeckish Chicken, which is chicken breast served in a white wine sauce, usually with potato frittata and carrots. Whilst traditionally a dine in dish, Jeckish firm Jecken have introduced boxes containing Jecken that can be eaten on the go - and will be in all stadiums at the championships. There will also be a wide array of Jeckish beers available inside and outside stadiums, although fans will not be able to drink these at their seats.

Culture

Jeckland revolves massively around sport, with the recent return to international competitions a huge boost to the nation. Whilst football and cricket are the main sports followed by everyone in the nation, a wide variety of other sports including lacrosse have a strong following. A wide variety of music genres are well loved in Jeckland, with something for everyone. Jeckland also has strong sectors producing its own films, television shows and radio programmes, often involving one of the many famous comedians the country has to offer.

Other Information (Tourists)
Airports and hotels are located near every stadium being used.
MagRail trains, which can travel at up to 200mph, are the most widely used and effective public transport.
The Jeckish currency is the Chez, which is relatively strong compared to other currencies. Most transactions are done using credit or debit cards, although cash is commonly accepted.
All WLC games will have sections split equally between the two competing sides as well as a small number of tickets for neutral fans and corporate visitors.

Other Information (Players)
All teams will be provided with accommodation and training facilities near the venues for their group games. The stadiums within each group will be geographically close to each other.
Transportation to and from games will also be provided, with a coach taking teams from their hotels to the stadiums.

Stadia

Each group will be played in two stadiums located closely to each other. One will be a larger football/rugby stadium, with the other a smaller stadium specifically for lacrosse. In the knockout rounds, the larger stadiums will be used.

SQUIDROIDIA LACROSSE

Official squad for the 34th World Lacrosse Championships

Information
The Squidroidian Lacrosse Association, or the SLA, is a sports governing body in Squidroidia ran by the Squidroidian Armed Forces, and by extension the Squidroidian government. Lacrosse is taught to all members of the military as a training exercise, but it has also developed into a sport with an army league system, made up of 96 regiments over a 4 tier league. The top 12 teams make up the Squidroidian Lacrosse Premier League, or SLPL, which is rarely broadcasted but enjoys great attendance with the members of the Squidroidian military. The SLPL Finals are held annually at the Squidroidian Armed Forces Park at the Takanori Army Base, pitting the top 2 teams against each other to crown a champion.

For the 34th WLC, the SLA has decided to send a 21 man squad to the competition, held in the nation of Jeckland. These men have been picked from the rosters of the SLPL regiments, and chosen for their excellence at the game of lacrosse within the army system. As such, the Squidroidian national lacrosse team, otherwise known as the Squidroidia Splatoon, is considered an army team. Due to not playing professionally in any lacrosse system in the multiverse, they might be lacking on the field. However, their experience in this competition may fuel the desire for a public lacrosse league in the near future for the citizens of Squidroidia.

Northwest Kalactin national lax team

Coaches
Head coach: Tyrone Lawrence
Assistant coach: Boyd King
Trainer: Brian Walker

Roster

Goalies

#1 Roy Moore, age 28*
#31 Kevin James, age 22
#99 Dennis Lopez, age 31
The goalie unit for the team is a very versatile one, being able to play anyone of them at any time in the game. Roy is a the main starter, as he has been since WLC 29. Kevin however, has been receiving increasing playing time from coach Tyrone, as he starts to exceed the skill of Roy. Dennis on the other hand, is a new, athletic goalie, who hails from a small town in eastern Kalactin.

Defense

#6 Gary Woodson, age 27* (Left D)
#2 Adam Alexander, age 21* (Center D)
#3 Jack Martin, age 35
#98 Joshua Long, age 17* (Right D)
#66 Randy white, age 24
#43 John Price, age 23
#9 Sean Collins, age 20
The defense is the youngest unit on the team. The core players in this area of the field are Gary Woodson, Adam Alexander and Joshua Long. Joshua is the youngest player on the team, at 17 years old. Gary is also the team vice-captain and has great Lacrosse IQ.

Midfield

#45 Ryan Rivera , age 26* (Left Mid)

#97 Jack Russell, age 22* (Right Forward)
#28 Carl Roberts, age 21
#56 Todd grey, age 35
#23 Edward Johnson, age 29
The midfield, spearheaded by team captain Ryan Rivera, is the heart and soul of the team. Ryan and Jason are both top 3 players on the team who can get a goal whenever the team needs one. The competition for a starting midfield spot will likely take place between the 2 youngsters, Jack Russel and Carl Roberts.

#54 John Peterson, age 23* (Right Inner)
#47 Aaron Jones, age 31* (Centre)
#39 Aaron Campbell, age 36* (Left Inner)

After the failures of the 28th and 29th World Lacrosse Championships, and especially the 29th edition where Banija got eliminated in the group stages of the WLCs for the first time ever, everything was torn down. The Olympic Committee of Banija seized control, and voted the sport's independent governing body(a rarity in Banija) out of existence. Various reforms were introduced. Chief among them- rid themselves of those who failed. The entire coaching staff was purged, and with it, not a single player who was on the WLC 28 or 29 roster was invited back to form the WLC 30 roster. Those high up in Banija called the WLC 29 group stage elimination, on home soil, of a nation that considered themselves an international lacrosse powerhouse an 'absolute embarassment to the country' and vowed for deep reforms to ensure that this did not ever happen again.

This, of course, happened before the 30th WLCs, in Cassadaigua. The Banijans were able to escape the group stage, once again, but fell to an ancient power in this sport- Sarzonia, by a score of 10-9, in the Round of 16. It was followed by a disappointing entry at the Champions Challengers Cup, where they fell to both Baker Park and Sarzonia in West Guiana, to finish 0-2. In the 31st WLCs, the Banijans finally overcame recent struggles by geting back to where they felt they belonged, the semifinals, though they fell at that stage in Baker Park. While they regressed at WLC 32, only going .500 in the group stage and getting knocked out in the Round of 16 by the tournament's top seed, they've restructured the squad. While they kept the defense and goalies, they made big changes up top, replacing all 7 midfielders on the roster, as well as changing out a number of attacking players. The last cycle started strongly, with the team winning the Moravica Lacrosse Invitational en route to going 6-0 in group play. However, they were downed by Sarzonia in the quarterfinals, once again giving the Banijans an early exit from lacrosse's premier tournament.

Sarzonia Stars
If you RP first, you may/may not do the following:
You may choose my goalscorers/goalscoring events
Everything else (Godmoding/injuries/ejections
Suspensions, violence/pandemics) is a no-go

Style: 0 (balanced between attack-minded and defensive)
Home grounds: Franz Braddock Stadium in Woodstock, capacity 35,000.
Please note: This team is renowned for its fair play. If you attack first, it will retaliate, but it will not initiate a fight.

Manager Carter Whitlock, 39
Whitlock is a hall of fame calibre player after leading Sarzonia to five World Lacrosse Championship gold medals as a player. He has yet to approach that level of success as a manager. He has decided to completely shake up the roster for the AO Lacrosse Classic and the WLC.
Defensive Coordinator: Bill Harbour (37 years old)
A teammate of Whitlock’s, Harbour’s defence was critical for the Stars in their last WLC final, when they defeated Delaclava 14-8 in Licentiapacisterra nearly five years ago. He signed on as an assistant coach after his playing career came to an end.
Offensive Coordinator: Tyler Pawlenty (51 years old)
Pawlenty helped mold offenses in college, in particular Rypien State College during a four-year period when that school won three collegiate national titles. His teams emphasise possession and patience, often including multiple passes before taking the perfect shot.
Assistant Coach: George Tomlin (35 years old)
Tomlin recently retired as a faceoff specialist after a collegiate career that saw him win 78 percent of his faceoffs. During his professional career in Sarzonia, he won 69 percent of his faceoffs. He can coach multiple styles of faceoffs, taking into account multiple fogos.
Assistant Coach: Bradley Morse (55 years old)
Serves as goalie coach. He helped several Sarzonian World Lacrosse Championship winning teams with goalies in an informal capacity. Now, he's coming out of retirement to provide assistance as a paid full-time coach after Whitlock convinced him to do so.

Lacrosse is a new sport in The Jovannic, but there are semi pro leagues with several talented players. Could go far.

Coaches
Head coach: Usti Guinrti, 57
Veteran Coach, played basketball and transfered to coach lacrosse teams for 23 years. Good sense and flexible.
Assistant coach: Ner Cheun, 31
Graduated from SportJovannic Training centre, Ner coached a 3rd division football club for 3 years before moving to Lacrosse where his aggressive style has been blooming. Tactics Guy.
Trainer: Josh Ng, 40
Retired Lacrosse Player, known for his persistent training methods and motivational speeches.

Roster

Goalies

#1 Junivert Kaiyt age 23*
#31 Mortana Liul, age 27
#99 Jonas Priven, age 20
3 talented goalkeepers, you could not ask for much more. Junivert is the breakout star of last semi pro season, with a record number of saves a game. Mortana is more relaxed and defensive, but has good reactions. Jonas is a new player that has shined in the league, and can reach out to clutch save many shots.

Defense

#6 Boho Macksisilo, age 24* (Left D)
#2 Reg Huhn, age 21* (Center D)
#3 Chitar Muses, age 24* (Right D)
#98 Ji Fung Hao, age 19
#66 Nicholas Asereren, age 32
#43 Marco Tistar, age 22
#9 Furoum Nihujin, age 19
Boho Macksisilo was the cream of the crop of the Jovannic Defense, tough and large but also deceptively fast, he can stop attacks single-handedly. Rag is extremely fast and is aggressive, pushing forward to block attacks early. Chitar is another stronger player, but is better as a supporter to block any attacks that break through th solid wall of the first two. Ji Fung Hao is a great talent, capable of running around for ages to prevent attacks. Nicholas is a former football player, with amazing stamina and strong attacks. Marco is another aggressive defender, who can run up and participate in attacks too. Furoum is your regular hardworking defender, nothing special, but has good resilience and a good long term option.

Midfield

#45 Rockse Litti , age 28* (Left Mid)(Captain)
#31 Johiver Kee, age 22* (Centre Mid)
#23 Frisk Hamura, age 25* (Right Mid)
#97 Jukisaw Rong, age 19* (Forward)
#28 Jovan Swasee, age 17
#56 Lionger Hangoyn, age 28
#23 Yong Wee Chow, age 24
Rockse Litti is a veteran, and the best player on the team, Rockse can control the field with ease, and always seems to be able to pass to the right player to score. Johiver Kee is a more stable player and can hold positions well. Frisk is quick and can sprint up and down the field, creating chances. Jukisaw is the aggressive attacker that also participates in defensive duties well. Jovan is another good talent, his speed vital. Lionger is strong and can play as a defensive backup. Yong is aggressive and has a good eye for goal. His speed needs work though.

Attack

#54 Donovan Mishway, age 22* (Right Inner)
#47 Sqeiza Misticoli, age 29* (Centre)
#39 Howard Lim, age 24* (Left Inner)
#92 Ale Soshtaker, age 24
#13 Rilie Ritegen, age 19
#25 Po Chua Ken, age 21* (Left Forward)
Donovan is rapid and quick and can create many chances if played right. Sqeiza has a sweet arm and can smash a goal from any place. Howard is very strong and can control the attack with his strength and power. Ale is agile, able to slice in to create chances and score. Rilie is a talent and can sprint past defences to score. Po is a good striker with a wicked curve shot and good passing abilities.

The Journal of Rokuro "Rokit" Minami

Author's Note: This journal is exclusively meant for Matchdays 1-6 of the World Lacrosse Championships. If Squidroidia advances to the knockout stage of the tournament, the forthcoming RPs will be interviews after the Squidroidian games. This journal is entirely based on a series of Gary's Mod comics made by DarkMario2 on DeviantArt between 2015 and 2017.

March 6th, 2017
15 minutes before showtime

It felt like a really long day that I stayed at my workplace in Inkopolis. As the hours ticked by at my humble little cubicle in among the seas of other gray cubicles almost like a maze, I heard coffee talk about the Squid Sisters. Of course, being in Inkhalla, we knew about the Squid Sisters more than anybody. They were our mascots for what seemed like a peaceful nation, cheery but sassy at the same time, when times were rough, Callie and Marie were there for us. You couldn't walk a block without seeing something related to the Squid Sisters in the city, hence their massive popularity.

As I approached my aptly Squid Sister-loving assistant about this coffee talk, she seemed to remind me about something too good to be true. The Squid Sisters just ended their hiatus and were about to hold a totally free concert in Inkopolis Plaza. I couldn't believe it. The Squid Sisters were treating everyone in Inkopolis and maybe the entirety of Inkhalla to a free party! I was smiling like an Inkling. Speaking of who, an Inkling came by my side and promised me to come alongside me in the concert. Much to her disgust I said no. But hey, it was a free concert!

The time soon struck 5 and I punched out my punchcard to be dismissed from the job. As I sat in my car for the drive home, I noticed something off about these Squid Sisters... Those red eyes. They weren't the classic Squid Sister gold, they were... Menacing. A menacing red, almost like they're Terminators. As such, I wrote them down as androids. They looked too good to be the real Squid Sisters. The red eyes were a real giveaway that they were fake.

The GPS said I was 2 minutes away from home, but in reality it felt like 2 hours. The demand for this concert was so high that there were long, long traffic jams just to get to the city center. It was totally agonizing, every movement feeling like one of a snail. I just wanted to get home because there was no way I was going to submit to 2 fake squid pop stars that may as well take my kids. Eventually though, I would get my ass back home as I felt too tired to even get a bite to eat.

As I changed the channels on my television, slouching on the couch in tiredness, I noticed something. No matter where you turn, they're there. Fake Callie and Fake Marie. All I could do was turn off my television and wait for the concert to end.

It would nearly end with my life.

JECKLAND WORLD LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS 34 ROSTER

BACKGROUND INFO

Before the nation started to partake in international sports, lacrosse was little more than a niche sport in Jeckland. But interest was piqued when the country's first foray into the international scene was made in WLC 17 in The Sarian, and continued to grow as the team developed. Before the isolation period, Jeckland had reached the semi finals of WLC 20 and achieved a #3 world ranking. Excitement in the country is huge at the return to the tournament, with the additional bonus of all matches being hosted in Jeckland.

Carter Whitlock enters the 34th World Lacrosse Championships with a mandate.

Gone was the rowdy partying of previous editions. This team was built to win lacrosse games. Toward that end, Whitlock only retained faceoff specialist Jon Austin from the bronze medalists of the previous World Lacrosse Championships.

Even though he kept the same coaching staff as before, it would be a completely different Stars team. This one had more depth. Much more. This one was also going to approach every match with more intense focus than the teams that returned Sarzonia from its long period of isolation.

They noted the return of Delaclava in their first lacrosse tournament since their team was the last Phoenixes side to stand on a medal platform after losing to the Stars in the World Lacrosse Championships XVI final.

"It's going to be great to see those guys competing again," Whitlock said, allowing himself a wistful smile. "I know I didn't play against any of them, but it's great to see them back in international competition."

Sarzonia will be competing in Group F as the top seeds with world No. 15 Aimena the only other ranked side. Sylestone and Lovisa are the two unranked sides.

Whitlock said the absence of newfound lacrosse rivals Banija in the group stage was "unfortunate," but added that the Stars would have to take care of business in the group stage.

"We can't afford to be complacent," he said. "We've got our work cut out for us. I said it when we came back as an unranked side. I'm saying it now."

After Sarzonia opened the Atlantian Oceania Lacrosse Classic with a 17-4 drubbing at the hands of Baker Park, the Stars watched the Phoenixes lose 13-8 to Baker Park in their return to international lacrosse. They battled the Phoenixes the next night for the right to qualify for the semifinals of the classic, which is a continuation of the Moravica Invitational which saw the Stars stumble to a 1-2 record against Baker Park and Banija.

"It's a good way for us to get our feet wet as a team before we compete in the WLC," midfielder Gio Guardio said. "We just don't seem to get off to strong starts there," he added.

Kohnhead National Lacrosse Team

Info: Kohnhead will be sending a team to the World Lacrosse Championships for the first time in history, and expectations are low. Lacrosse is safe to say not a very popular sport in Kohnhead. Gridiron, football, tennis, and volleyball are the main sports in Kohnhead. The team is actually made up of college all stars as college is where lacrosse is the most popular. Swisston City University are coming off of the college championships for lacrosse and they have the most members on the team, as well as the coach.

Team Notes:
- Team is neutral in focus, both offensively and defensively.
- Team is not looking to be excessively physical, and will shy away from any cheap actions. Physical play is kept within the rules. However, if others get cheap will us, they will respond accordingly. They are not afraid to throw punches (or receive them) from male players (especially Flannery and Proctor), but will only do so in response to an opponents actions, they do not instigate it. Instigating something with Proctor is not advised unless you're player is exceptionally good at fighting.

HUElavia to Participate in their 3rd Consecutive WLC!

HUElavia returns once again to the WLC in their 3rd Appearance (and 3rd Consecutive Appearance). The past two tournaments have been utter failures for the National Lacrosse Team. Two appearances have ended in 4th Place finishes in their groups with 0 points each.

This time around, Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos are looking to get at least a point or even a victory during the Group Stage. HUElavia (39) has been put in Group D with Banija (5), The Sarian (17), and Mathuvan Union (UR). The team is the lowest ranked team among the officially ranked teams in the Multiverse, but with all of Pot 4 having no experience whatsoever, there is optimism towards the team getting their first victory in the WLC.

While the team may be some tournaments away from posing a strong team, there is a chance for this young core, all of whom played in WLC 33, to learn and grow as HUElavia looks to make some sort of noise, especially with a sizable crowd of HUElavians coming to support them.

FORÇA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!
