I never bought into the whole "GOP will die due to changing demographics" thing. The Republicans will try to win those demographics instead, it’s common sense. Why would you continue pursuing a failing policy position when you can pursue a more successful one?
Because of the lack of evidence that they are willing to do any such thing? This isn't sudden, Republican strategists have been sounding the alarm for years about the need to reach out to ever growing groups of minority voters...and the response of the party has consistently been to double down on white grievance, and rely on high turnout by getting their base foaming at the mouth about America being swept away in a tide of brown and all good white Christians being enslaved and oppressed.
Eventually sure, they'll have no choice, but at the moment it seems they're not willing to try it until after it becomes completely impossible to win on the 'enraged white geriatric' vote.
