Issues Author with no badge

Postby Honeydewistania » Mon Jun 22, 2020 6:48 am

Hi all.

Kortza is listed as the issues author of issue 770 (Vaping up a Storm) both on the issue I received and on the forums. Yet they do not have an authorship badge reflected on their national page or S2 Uncommon Card. Is this a mistake? Thanks.

It's possible that the issue was added while they were CTE'd. If they get in touch with a game mod, they can rectify it.

The profile badge, probably not for S2 card.

I've added the badge to their nation.

Hold up, Kortza just TGed me to say that he doesn't think he authored this issue.

A quick query shows that Kortza is 4 years and 202 days old. The issue was submitted May 8 2016, so that would seem to be the correct nation.

Is there any chance that the system could have attached the wrong author nation somehow or Kortza likely to be misremembering?

Interesting plot twist.

It's entirely possible that my edit means he doesn't recognise the issue anymore, and if he was CTE'd at the time I wouldn't have been able to inform him of changes. I've TGed the original text to him to see if it rings bells.

They must be misremembering. The system attaches a line to the top of an issue when it's submitted which you can see in Issues Control, when viewing raw:

# Issue by kortza (Wed May 18 14:04:59 2016)

That's the author and date/time submitted. Since the present Issues Control was introduced in 2014, that line is non-editable.

To be fair to the fellow, I also have no recollection of editing this issue. Memory is a fickle thing.

But then, I also can't remember my wedding anniversary date, so this may just be me.

So let's add another plot twist:

In light of giving credit where credit is due, and fixing this oversight properly:
1. The S2 card has the badge added to it now as well.
2. The card rarity has been upgraded to Ultra Rare.

Card: https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... 7/season=2

Sucky for me personally as a player is that my S2 Issue Author collection has thus become incomplete. I guess I'll just have to buy this card now.
