Wordiness does not make differentiate a shitposter from an effortposter, instead it would be the quality of the ideals conveyed and how well-argued. I could, for instance, say nothing in 1000 words in one post and yet make a compelling case with one to three sentences in another.
It's part of the reason why minimum word requirements for school are bullshit, the number of words does not correlate to the strength of the argument being made or help your case in any tangible way. Indeed, in most cases brevity and conciseness should be striven for and not shunned.

Everything Zizek writes is (obviously) tinged with Marxism, so exactly as you said, Marxists must find a politically-correct (in the Marxian sense) way of analysing fascism. And the reason I didnt want to push too far on the other points was that I was mostly thinking about fascists in the Anglo world rather than the fascist countries of the 1930s, but I think the ideas are more or less broadly the sameItalios wrote:Questarian New Yorkshire wrote:And of course they pick usually on people weaker than them. Weaker countries. Weaker people. Women. Minorities. Etc. Because then they can REALLY live out the punishment, because you can't punish someone for being better than you and they don't want to punish themselves for being better. They find the mirror of their own perceived inadequacies. Lots of Nazis were homosexuals, in the Waffen-SS there were even lots of crossdressers. We might even connect a fascist obsession with cleanliness and order with a Freudian anality. They are anally retentive in terms of racial hygiene and anally expulsive in terms of their idea of public politics.
The rest of fascist politics are just things that will help them stay in power. There's not much true ideology there. They co-opt whatever they need to ensure they win and they can carry out their program.
I hate fascism. On so many levels. For so many different reasons. We should squash them wherever and whenever they appear, forcefully.
Zizek basically had a similar albeit more, well, politically correct critique of fascism - basically that in order to properly form a class collaborationist state, you must assign all collective blame to a specific group, whether it be racial, ethnic, etc.

for example, while your posts might actually be longer than the standard RWDT post, they're substantially much worse in content.

I just spent the last 4 years writing political philosophy and am looking into grad school to write political philosophy. If I want to shitpost on an australasian book-selling php-code forum, I will do so.

Fascism presented an enemy to unite behind (actually multiple) but it's curious how they presented the enemy, as something that was inferior and in need of punishment, rather than just an Anglo-French sense of "civilising mission." It wasn't - we're better than them because we made civilisation, it was - they're weak, dirty, brown, they need to be punished by our superior jackboots.
And ofc Fascism widely used sex and rape as an explicit political weapon as well. What a surprise.
