The Taeshan Bid for World Bowl XXXIX

The Nation:Taeshan is one of the most historic nations when it comes to sports in the multiverse. Twice World Bowl champions (0, 34). The nation has competed in all but 7 World Bowl's, advancing in all but 6 of the one's they have competed in. They have finished 2nd 3 times, 3rd 3 times, and 4th 3 times. The nation has a noted sporting history including top 10 all-time in olympic medals, is a World Baseball Classic nation hall of famer, and has 10 World Cup qualifications in an amount of attempts that leaves much to be desired. The nation has hosted a Cup of Harmony, a Copa Rushmori, a Sporting World Cup, and a Quidditch World Cup (that last one strictly speaking, I should not have told you about).

As a nation Taeshan is a Democracy ruled by a president. It is divided into 8 islands and a small mainland portion bordering Savojarna. The weather is mostly cold, but characterized by snow on the ground much of the year. Taes are a very hardy people and don't feel the cold quite as much as the rest of the regions visitors. Sport is a big thing in Taeshan, and the various leagues and national teams are almost the main economy system of the nation, for better or for worse.

Format:The preferred format would involved a double round robin of groups with an even number of teams. The playoffs would involve the top 2 teams from each team advancing with the a traditional knockout (bracket style) following. Play-in games would be used when groups do not work out to 8. I.e. The bottom x 2nd place teams play in to A round of 16, or 32 depending on how many groups there are. I prefer double round robin as it allows for more RP opportunity and newer teams to get a chance to build that up, and it allows teams to continue to develop the sport in their own nation, and no so much in Taeshan.

Preferred formats:
10 Groups of 6 (60)
7 Groups of 8 (56) (top 2 3rd place teams would advance in this situation)
13 Groups of 4 (52)
8 Groups of 6 (48)
11 Groups of 4 (44)
10 Groups of 4 (40)
6 Groups of 6 (36)
4 Groups of 8 (32)

Tiebreakers:
Wins
H2H Results
H2H PD
PD
PA
Coin Flip (i.e. Playoff game scorinated winner advances)

Scorination: I would follow the recent trend by using SQIS -IFAF xkoranate. Traditional modifiers for xkoranate. I will use cumulative RP bonus with a good amount of Bonus available in the tournament. I plan on using rankings as normally used, additive modifiers and a One time Roster bonus that will be marked on the same scale as the normal RP bonus.

Experience:Cup of Harmony 55, Copa Rushmori 14, Sporting World Cup 10, Quidditch World Cup 10. 65 Seasons of Club Soccer, Various amounts of hockey, volleyball, rugby, and Football club seasons
Champions - Copa Rushmori 22, Cup of Harmony 35, Di Bradini Cup 19, World Baseball Classic 13, Gridiron World Championships (World Bowl 0), World Bowl 34, World Lacrosse Championship 2

World Cup Qualifications-41, 44, 46, 59, 61(RoS), 62(Quarterfinals), 63 (RoS), 64 (Quarterfinals), 83, 84 (RoS), 85, 87

Hosts-Cup of Harmony 55, Copa Rushmori 14, Sporting World Cup 10,
Quidditch World Cup 10, World Cup of Hockey 41, World Cup 87

World Bowl XXXIX ~ Delaclava

One of the forefront programs of the early teens, Delaclava began international competition with a championship at the 2nd Baptism of Iron, and went on to make three finals in five competitions - winning two (XIII and XV) and losing one (XI). Delaclava also hosted the 11th and 15th World Bowls and the 4th Baptism of Iron. They are the only team to hold the Golden Bowl - the World Bowl’s lineal championship - for an entire tournament (XV) as well as having the third-longest duration of combined reigns. Delaclava is also a handful of nations to win multiple World Bowls, to host multiple World Bowls, and to go undefeated en route to a World Bowl championship.

Some years later, as Delaclava re-enters international competition, the nation’s gridiron players look at the all-time statistics with hunger. They won’t be satisfied with moderate success in their return, or even with one title. For gridiron is one of those sports that has defined Delaclav athletics, and the Phoenixes are intent on becoming statistically the greatest program of all time. Armed with renovated stadia and a thorough youth and collegiate network, the Delaclava Gridiron Association aim to give their loyal supporters something to to cheer about, in their own backyard.

Group Stage Format: Double round-robin, with groups of 5 or 6 preferred, and 4 or 7 as available option. If there are an asymmetrical number of groups (i.e. so that a Round of 16/32 cannot be easily achieved), the preference will be to advance the same amount of teams from each group, and use play-in games if necessary, rather than ranking teams across groups.

Group Stages Tiebreakers: Wins, H2H, H2H differential, overall differential, RP bonus.

Knockout Stage Format: All rounds prior to the quarterfinals, including play-in games (if applicable), will be single elimination.

The final eight teams will be re-seeded by group performance and entered into a double-elimination bracket. After the winner’s bracket and loser’s bracket are completed, the winners of the two brackets will compete for the World Bowl, with the winner of the loser’s bracket needing to win twice to clinch the championship. The resulting winning team is the World Bowl champion, and the resulting losing team is the runner-up. The third place team is the runner-up of the loser’s bracket.

Role-play: RP bonus will be cumulative and non-decaying, and applied directly into the ranking (vs. using the xkoranate RP function). A high quality of role-play will be encouraged, and points on offer for RP will be calculated so that an unranked, high-level RPer would have a comparable rank+RP to a high-ranked, inactive player by the conclusion of the tournament.

Scorination: xkoranate with the SQIS formula, IFAF overtime, xkoranate-style (additive) style modifiers. Home advantage will be applied for the group stage, and matches will ICly be home and away. Eliminations matched will take place in Delaclava and no home advantage will be applied, except for a small bonus to Delaclava directly applied to the rank+RP (if we advance to the elimination rounds).

The RP cutoff window would be 11pm-12am US Eastern time (0300-0400 UTC). Off days will be given between the two halves of the group stage as well as between the group stage and elimination rounds, but otherwise scorination will occur daily.

Hosting Experience: In addition to the 11th and 15th World Bowls and 4th Baptism of Iron, Delaclava has hosted the 55th World Cup, 44th and 46th Cups of Harmony, 72nd Baptism of Fire, 7th International Basketball Championships, 31st AOCAF Cup, and numerous minor tournaments.
