Civil war has broken out in Sharifistan. The rival factions of republicans, Pashtunistan secessionists
and, of course, those who have stayed loyal to the Sultanate.

Prince-Regent Khalid Suleiman Khan says “It is with greatest regret that I call up the Army to quell the traitors in parts of the country.” he said.
The traitors he speaks of are:
Pashtunistani secessionists (who seceded to avoid being ruled by a Queen in 2 years) and anti-monarchy forces.

"What is it?" the President now seemed nervous too.

"A republican movement has begun in Sharifistan. The republicans wish for a more democratic government. I cannot believe that this is happening, especially after the assassination of the Sultan."

"I cannot understand either. The republicans are probably mad. They will pay for their lack of compassion. We will send help to our ally as quickly as possible."

2 Pelicans dropships come in over a remote area of Sharifistan before landing. 5 individuals, dressed in local clothing and able to speak the local language like a native, step off the Pelicans which take off back to base. Each carry all the equipment they will need including guns. They spread out to begin their mission.

The Holy Emperor of Dominant Oppressors receives news of the events that have transpired in Sharifistan, the Holy Emperor frowns and makes a comment on what a good friend and ally the former sultan was, in lieu of this he announced the nation will be in a state of morning for a few days. His servant continues to inform him of the rebellions in Sharifistan, the Holy Emperor's expression shows anger and then resolve. "My own daughter is next to succeed me, for that is my wish. The Sultan had wished this for his people and so that is what shall be done, and we will help in any way necessary. Deploy the troops to Sharifistan!".

The Dominant Oppressorian Grand General receives the order and deploys three legions to the front, a telegram is issued to the Sharifistani Lord Regeant, informing him of our wish to help and asking where our forces are most needed.

An assistant runs up to a man dressed in a fine suit. The Prime Minister of Kazakah, The Venerable Kellan Niseen. "My God. That's terrible." utters the Prime Minister, "Sultan...who was it again?"
"Suleiman Khan of Sharifistan, sir."
The Minister sighs heavily, in deep reminisce. "You know how these things can end?", he queries, "War. It always ends in war. I must call a meeting of the Cabinet. We will decide what to do."

On behalf of his Imperial Sovereign, Amadeus III, the Government of Kazakah expresses grave condolences on the death of the Sultan Suleiman Khan.

Understanding:

1. The Sultan's Holy Right to the Rule of Sharifistan
2. The violent and abrupt nature of his Royal Sultan's death by assassination
3. The volatile social and political environment of Sharifistan following his Royal Sultan's death

the Government of Kazakah hereby:

1. Recognizes the legitimacy of Sultan Suleiman Khan's will
2. Supports the eventual reign of Princess Khadijah Khan after a two year regency by Prince Khalid Suleiman Khan as dictated in said will
3. Grants political asylum to the Royal Family of Sharfistan
4. Authorizes the transference of economic goods, up to and not exceeding $1BN NSD, to Sultanate Loyalists from the Kazakahian Foreign Support Fund
5. DENOUNCES the Government of Danistarab for allowing the existence of the "leading gang" that assassinated Sultan Suleieman Khan and imposes trade tariffs on any commerce from Danistarab

All the previous Sultan's children under 16 and the current Sultan's wife (as well as the previous Sultan's wives apart from Roxane De France) have been sent to stayed in Kazakh at the behest of her family. A hotel has been booked for them to stay in.
Roxane De France, the previous Sultan's most recent wife, has enlisted in the Army Intelligence Corps as an ordinary soldier.

I must extend my greatest condolences to you. I cannot imagine your pain. The death of Suleiman has shaken me to the core, never in a million years would I have expected such a great man to fall in such a terrible way. Although I had only met him once in my life, he stood out as an honourable person.

I'm glad you have made it to Kazakah safely and in one piece. However, I must deplore! A royal family such as yourself has no reason to stay in a simple hotel. I have made arrangements for you to stay in Kareandin Castle, one of my summer palaces that rarely sees use these days. I can assure you that you will live in utmost comfort there. There are over 200 acres of property to explore. You will be kept safe by members the Imperial Guard. No harm shall come to you so long as they watch.

He personally wondered if it had anything to do with the group that had attempted to assassinate Rêdûr Şêrdil, pushed that thought to the side to focus on the task at hand, namely, the orders he should be receiving soon.

The massive Mi-26 chopper hovered above the secessionist camp, and sand blew all over the tents while people sheltered inside them to stay away from the harsh sun and keep the sand from getting in their clothes. The behemoth of a cargo chopper slowly came to stop, landing softly on the desert floor. The cargo bay opened, revealing the first of what would be multiple supply deliveries to the rebel forces of Sharifistan. Crates of weapons, body armor, electronic equipment, and MREs were rolled out first, which would be vital in ensuring that the rebels succeeded in their efforts. Then, 6 armored jeeps were driven out as well as 2 APCs. Sandbags were rolled out last, which would serve as the fortifications for the as of now very shoddy camp. After all the supplies were moved, a man wearing desert multi-scale camo fatigues, aviator sunglasses, a red bandana, and a Rambo-style red headband walked out of the chopper, a group of 12 Mercatusian Army Rangers standing behind him, clad in black digi camo fatigues and sunglasses. The man in desert fatigues, a famed mercenary by the name of Lupus Manes, was something of a legend among third-world armies and rebel armies. Lupus, once a Colonel in the Mercatusian Army, has gained a reputation as being among the most elite of soldiers. He is fluent in Arabic, Chinese, French, and Spanish, a fine martial artist, an extraordinarily deadly marksman, and also quite known for his skills with a knife. He demands top dollar for his work, and the rebels seemed very willing to pay the money, especially considering many of the Sultanate's wealthy were among those fighting the new regime, led by a woman, which, by many Arabic traditions, was a huge no-no.

Things around here were about to change.

Statement on the Sharifistani Civil War

It has come to the Ministry's attention that, after the unfortunate death of the late Sultan Suleiman Khan, the Sultanate of Sharifistan has found itself embattled with civil wars and secessionists. The Federal Republic of Nacrad is highly concerned about the volatile situation in the region. Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall issue Travel Warning Red: Avoid unnecessary travel to the Sultanate of Sharifistan. In addition, the Black Travel Warning is issued to all rebel-held areas.

The Federal Republic of Nacrad shall also arrange flights to extract any nationals of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organisation from Medinat al-Islam. The first flights are expected to depart for Medinat al-Islam on Wednesday, 17 June.

In addition, as a token of friendship between the Sultanate and the Federal Republic, the Federal Republic shall assist the Sultanate in quashing the rebellion, in a humanitarian capacity at this moment.

Celeste Morrison, UCR Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke today on the recent developments in Sharifistan. "It is a sad time when our forces become necessary for such a cause." He said after suggesting that he had just left a meeting with the President, where it was decided that the United Civil Republic would support the pro-democratic forces of the Sharifistan Republicans. What this support looks like remains to be seen, but the President has already called a press briefing for this afternoon, so we probably won't have to wait long.

The troops bumbled, waddled, and rolled out of the transport, their transferred weight allowing the ship to rise higher in the water, putting the hole safely above the water line. The ship jumped up a good five feet as the last (and particularly voluminous) troop stepped off. Behind them a man wearing desert multi-scale camo fatigues, aviator sunglasses, a brown bandana, and a Rambo-style red headband tripped and fell off the boat, followed by the crates of supplies, which were dumped out on top of him. His name was Lufus Dufus, and was something of a legend among hobos and run-down casinos. HIreland had received word that Lupus Manes would be sent to assist the rebels, so they had followed an old HIrelander folk legend that for every amount of competence, there was an equal and opposite amount of stupid waiting to cancel it out. They had found that stupid in Lufus Dufus, when they saw him in an cardboard box eating hundred notes after being kicked out of a casino for winning too much. He didn't even know he was an agent, they had simply given him various military gadgets disguised as personal items and counted on his dumb luck to do the rest. He finally unburied himself from the pile of canned swill and nerve gas (which were brilliantly stored in identical containers), grabbed his yellow-spotted tie, and wiped his nose on it, explaining where the yellow spots came from. Makes you wonder about the brown bandana. The rest of the regiment wandered off towards a nearby village to ask for directions because they had no idea where in Sharifistan they were, or even where they were supposed to go, while Lufus Dufus headed off in the other direction, turned around once he realised he was wading into water, and started back to shore.

I believe it would be wise to try and siege down the City of Industry, it is a valuable place to hold and might de-seat the republicans significantly
