Show me a morally-grey character (by 40k standards that is) with the favor of Khorne who while ruthless and violent is also just and cunning.

I am told that Kharn, of all people, is actually portrayed that way in his BL novels. Outside of combat, he is a jaded philosopher, refuses to harm non-combatants and has been systematically scheming against other Khorne champions to eventually unite the World Eaters legion under his banner again.

Kharn is the best exception to ever grace 40k.

I know it's not 40K, but I just wanted to share the amusing fact of Graham McNeill writing a story full of fart jokes for League Of Legends.

That just tickles me.

I am not too sure about the new damaged aesthetic of the Necrons, since part of their concept I liked was the liquid regenerating metal that could restore them from shattered to pristine, and the idea of their old 'phase-out' mechanic was that if they were too heavily damaged they would teleport out for more serious repair. That does not work at all with their new look, making me think that it is another thing about them that they have scrapped. In fact, I do not recall seeing any Reanimation Protocols within the trailer, making the Necrons just look like easily-smashed robots. They came off pretty badly in that trailer overall.

I wouldn't think too much of it. Even back in 3rd Edition CSM were decorating their vehicles with impaled Necron skulls even though that should have been technically impossible too.

I think its a dynasty thing. Would not surprise me if there were dynasties out there who liked the grizzled beat up war machine aesthetic.

But I do hate the fact that the trailer shows warriors being scrapped by one burst of a Sister's Bolter like not even a Primaris Bolter should be able to fell a mere Warrior. That trailer was just Wardian wankery when in reality the Smurfs and sisters are but dust at that point.

Unlikely. Necrons as they are aren't great. Reincarnation protocols in particular aren't that great given you can remove them from play just by killing the unit.

For "new" necrons to be battered and worn they would have to have seen a lot of combat since they reawakened, went into stasis already battered (a possibility) or had their tombs more than just mildly buggered up. Considering humans have been accidentally messing with tomb worlds since at least as far back as the birth of the primarchs all three are possible.

Of course now that cawl appears to know how to control a lot of necron tech (to the point of freeing a ctan shard) one has to wonder what shenanigans await...

And just like that, all tentative positivity I still had towards the next edition went flying out the window with the overwatch change. Guess I'll just go back to 5th or 7th edition then.

I'm just going to pretend this edition hasn't happened for now tbh. Don't play that often with people all lawyered up on the rules anyway, and care far more about the story than power gaming.

And this is a comprehensively stupid change.
