Fox News is quite possibly the single greatest threat to American freedom and justice that isn't part of the U.S. govt.

In any case, the CHAZ is much more sophisticated than Occupy. It’s much larger than just one small park, and it has much more local support. The CHAZ will probably end sooner or later just like Occupy did, but the CHAZ shows protesters have actually learned a lot from Occupy in 2011. The overall balance of forces is moving left.

The absence of police has now brought about more law and order to Capitol Hill than their presence did.

With the situation on the ground in flux, it's impossible to know where the CHAZ is headed. While the movement behind the zone can't be described as libertarian (a Medium essay purporting to be a list demands from the Free Capitol folks includes calls for both police abolition and rent control), it is still vaguely encouraging to see people try to set up their own self-governing enclave in the vacuum left by the police's withdrawal.

This reminds me of the socialist-libertarian unity during the Iraq War years.

I'm not sure why you believe that consent to a power structure can only be expressed via democratic elections. That's very inconsistent with how political theorists have more or less always used the term "consent."

The people of North Korea express their consent for the regime by following its orders. The entire populace could, at any given point, just decide that they don't give a fuck about Kim and either die violent deaths or actually depose him. That they do not do this, and thus implicitly give their consent for his ruling over them, is how Kim remains in power.
