I am pleased to announce the creation of the Conservative Hockey Cup, a privately-run hockey tournament created and run by me, in part due to the simple fact that I like hockey and the NHL isn't back yet.
The other main reason for this tournament is to foster good relations and create sporting and roleplay bonds between the following regions and their respective members:
- The Republic of Conservative Nations
- The Allied Conservative States
- Right to Life
- The New Western Empire
If you are not a member of one of these regions, I ask that you refrain from signing up to participate. Future editions of this tournament may be open to a wider range of participants, but at least for the first one, this is how I'd like to run it.
More details about the structure of the tournament will be determined once the number of participants is finalized, but the general structure will involve teams divided as evenly as possible into different groups, with the teams that perform the best in each group advancing to a single-elimination stage. The tournament will be run via Xkoranate; every team will be assigned a "Skill" value of 0.85 for the purposes of keeping things even, with a 15% bonus applied to teams who contribute to the tournament roleplay between games.
