A beginner's guide...

Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest, aiming to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple rules and regulations that you'll need to follow.

  1. To start, you must sign up for the contest. Do so by using the form below and posting that you sign up in this thread. Make sure you sign up before the cutoff date. You won't be penalized if you sign up and don’t end up posting a song. You then post the song in the IC thread after a host vote (see previous contests to see what a "normal" post looks like).
  2. At the end of the host bidding period, all nations which have signed up at that point may vote for the nation that will host the contest. Instructions will be posted by this account, and all host votes should be telegrammed to this account as well. The winning bidding nation will then create the IC thread.
  3. The contest is based upon the Eurovision Song Contest: nations will "perform" their song. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used (usually linked via YouTube). At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations are not allowed. Nations are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative. English is not compulsory, and other languages are encouraged.
  4. Once the IC thread has been posted whenever the winning bidding nation chooses, nations will submit songs before the deadline. After the deadline nations may not edit or alter their song in any way, unless otherwise instructed by the Committee. Also, after the deadline and any interval act (wait for the signal from the host nation), nations vote, ranking their top ten songs in the following format: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in the IC thread. Nations may not vote for themselves. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote.

If you don't know how to sign up, use this form below; this should help. Not all of these fields have to be filled in, but it certainly helps.

Code: Select all
Nation Name: Your nation's name goes here.
Official Broadcaster: Your official broadcaster for WV goes here.
Song Title: The IC Song title goes here.
Artist(s) Name(s): The name of your act goes here.

Tune: The real-life tune you're basing your song on goes here.

  1. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one edition in order to qualify to host a following edition. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic and fair result.
  2. At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations of real-life songs will result in disqualification. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgment. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
  3. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote. Failure to do so will result in one strike given to the player.
  4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation (that is another nation controlled by the same player); the master nation must confirm their puppet on the thread. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
  5. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the Committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification. A user controlling a master and puppet nation together can only award a third nation a total of 18 points.
  6. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes a peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification or an appropriate measure as determined by the Committee. If at any point, you feel you are a victim or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.
  7. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process. Conspiring with fellow users to rig any of the votes is illegal and will result in sanctions.
  8. Users may "reserve" slots in the running order of the contest, but if you do so and don't finish your entry by the deadline, you will receive a strike. An entry is accepted if it has a complete set of lyrics, regardless of whether stage directions have been finalized or not. You may also state that you are withdrawing from the contest on the OOC thread.
  9. Users may not edit their entries or votes after the deadlines for any reason, including spelling or grammatical errors unless otherwise instructed to by the Committee. If you'd like to edit something in after the deadline, please ask the Committee for permission first.

So basically, be original, try to be fair, don't be a jerk, and have fun. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to TG the Committee - it helps if you add the Committee's individual member names (Axuva, Besen, Ertzei Kishim, Izmedu, Todlichebujoku) in the "To:" box along with "WorldVision Committee" for a faster response.

Even if you've missed the deadline or aren't participating, feel free to discuss the contest in this thread or post commentary in the IC. You'll find that people greatly appreciate some good commentary.

With all that said, welcome to WorldVision!

STRIKE SYSTEM

As it was introduced prior to the start of '79, the same strike system for punishments will be in effect, where players breaking certain contest rules will receive strikes depending on the severity.

    • One Strike: No immediate consequences;
    • Two Strikes: One-contest ban;
    • Three Strikes: Two-contest ban.
  • Strikes expire after five editions; however, a strike expiring during a ban does not edit or shorten it.
  • Bans stack; that is, a nation reaching three strikes within one edition is immediately banned for the following three editions.
  • Bans erase strikes once they are completed.

Here are the following issues that can net you a strike:

    One strike:
    • Not voting in the contest (will also disqualify a contestant from competing)
    • Changing votes without Worldvision Committee supervision.
    • Posting halftime results when not the host or WVC & refusing to remove results (which also results in disqualification)
    • Posting an incomplete entry.
    • Not declaring a puppet.

    Two strikes:
    • Engaging in tactical voting.
    • Intentionally refusing to vote.
    • Attempts to evade a ban.
    • Entering more than one puppet in the contest.

If you have any questions regarding the new strike system, please contact the Worldvision Committee and we can assist you.

Rather than bore you with an IC thing, I'm just going to say that I'm going to do my first actual proper NF thing opened up to everyone else. Your three choices:

  1. Trevor Something - All Night
  2. Trevor Something - Fade Away
  3. Kavinsky ft. Lovefoxxx - Nightcall

Three points to your favourite entry, two points to your second favourite entry, one point to your third/least favourite. Either TG your votes to me or DM them to me on Discord (elejamie#1374). Snarky and/or brief commentary optional and welcomed, given that I tend to do the same when I vote in other peoples' finals and it'd be hypocritical of me if I opposed it. If any of the links aren't working, please let me know so I can post an alternative link. In the event of a tie, I'll randomly select an order and claim it's my nation's votes as a tie-breaker. If you don't have a National Final of your own, feel free to vote anyway because it's just a bit of fun, innit. EDIT: Deadline will be 15th June, 2020 and results revealed the day after; it's only three songs, no need to make it any longer than it should be.

Placely Placington will still be pre-confirmed with an internally selected vote.

Ungrand info here.
Hello, world! I'm North Alezia. I'm currently trying to do better in Worldvision after earning 17th. And I think the way to do that is to create a National Final! Here are the breakdown of the 5 songs and their tunes

1. LUNA THE CAT, MEOW LA MEOW

The song is pretty much about a cat's need for catfood everyday. And if it didn't get any attention, it'll took your wallet away. INFO: The cat will be using a machine that can help cats speak human language. Brought to you by the Tech Institute of Basna. And the machine's very honest and tested too many times, so it's safe!
Tune: CG5- The Bongo Cat Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjJB_B16x8A

2. LADY ALYOUB, DEAR WORLD (SCREW YOU ALL)

The song is about basically a queen, wanting more riches and more world domination.
Tune: Silvia Night- Congratulations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwmd_JU-5LA

3. ANDI ROBI I.N. ,SINCE I FIRST SAW HER

The song is about pretty much a simple love song. It's said that it's also about the moment when he met his wife.
Tune: Roger Cicero- Nicht Artgerecht https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBVsRR73dUY

4. IZDAR BIN HARUN, LIFE FELLS APART BEFORE ME

The song is about a strange dream he's had one day about him falling and dying.
Tune: (I know this should've went to a female, but the tune suits him!) Indila- Tourner Dans La Vide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtNJMAyeP0s

5. THE CODE, A-BA-TA-TSA

The song is about simple instructions on how to build a PC, and also emotions that happened while building that
Tune: The Chainsmokers and Coldplay- Something Just Like This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM7MFYoylVs

HELP NORTH ALEZIA DECIDE....

You can help North Alezia decide by voting in our national final! It's easy, really. If you want to vote, vote all songs from 6-8, 10, and 12. After you do that, please DM me in Discord (HowDidIGetHere?#5211) or Telegram Me!

For the second edition in a row, Zeganas is entering the worldvision song contest. Despite a lower-than-average showing in WV82, Zeganasians hope that this next song comissioned by BCBC will entertain many around the world.

Image

Having been a big and popular band in the city of San Manasso and the general west coast area of Zeganas, Suhraund Saund formed 22 years ago. Their musical style tends to be considered alternative rock and can be upbeat, but also energetic and angry. This worldvision though, they're going for something very upbeat. the band comprises of four band members.
Muso Jekoni, 41 M (lead singer)

*Talvezout and Antahbrantahstan bids for WV83*

North Alezia be like:
"ALL RIGHT BID BOOK I CHOOSE YOU FOR THE 2ND TIME GO"

OFFICIAL BID FOR WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 83- ZAFIZAMARRAH, NORTH ALEZIA
After much discussion and one withdrawal later, the North Alezian team of ABA and NAWVSC decided to return their bid and use a new budget of AZ$ 73 million. After a redraw and numerous re-meetings, North Alezia is more than ready to give to you, our reader, Zafizamarrah 83’s updated bid.

Image

CITY OF ZAFIZAMARRAH
Image
Zafizamarrah Al Munawarrah or Zafi or ZF or Wattenri (Meaning the City of the Lady (either Queens or Princesses) in Buginese) is the current holder of the capital of the Federation of North Alezia. It’s a very complicated city with Bugis and British influence and culture (which made no sense whatsoever). Zafi already existed since the inception of the Sultanate of Zafi in 1458. Under the Sultanate, Zafizamarrah grew to be a major hub in trade due to its perfect sea location. Buginese merchants came to the city hundreds of years later, specifically 1622, in which the Buginese assimilate with the Alezians and created a community of understanding. The Buginese also introduced Maritime Technology, Buginese Language and Food, and Phinisi (I . The British created their influence when the Sultanate fell back in 1882 and created the Colony of North and South Alezia (in which the British quickly pulled out from the South due to its people having problems with the British). Somehow, the British respected the Buginese and Alezians and treated them as equals. Together, these three shaped Zafi to be an international industrial and maritime hub. When the North Alezians declared independence back in 1958, however… The Iliya Dictatorship was installed, which closed any entry and exit to North Alezia. And because that’s obviously unfair, in 1988 the Dictatorship was overthrown. After 1988, Zafi earned her prowess again after 30 years of isolation. Now, Zafi is trying to be relevant again, especially with the increased transparency after Ryo-Seung Da’s dictatorship (2019-2020). Zafi’s primary industry is Fish and Memes, in which these industries becoming very profitable for Zafi, earning the city AZ$ 176 Billion every year. If they can break targets, they can be on their way to be the Meme Capital of The World. Currently, Zafizamarrah houses 500 100m+ buildings, with a lot to come. Why so many? Because Zafizamarranians love skyscrapers, with more to come.

WHERE WILL WV BE HELD?
Image
If the contest went to Zafi, it will be held in Mitawaqqul Maqzafi. With 6500 people capacity, 1500 standing and 5000 seated, this venue is very ideal for events such as this contest. MM, as it’s commonly called among citizens of Zafizamarrah was just recently built and the exterior giving the venue an ecological sense (even though ecology is not in our theme.). The venue also contains a green room for the artists, plus commentary room for each country (these rooms are already safe for usage from COVID-19). The venue also contains media and press room. Need to practice? No worries! We have practice room available. If you need to use them, don’t forget to book first (because we kinda predicted that many countries will use this facility, and we only have four rooms). AND, if you’re feeling religious, there are many praying places. If you really need to use a big praying place, just contact us and we’ll tell you where to go. AND, for those who worry about their health and don’t want to go out but still want to taste Zafi (especially food), there are UberEats and AleziRide (kinda like Gojek) standing by (thank you) so you can eat anything Zafi without even stepping out of your hotel room! The venue is connected with Metro Zafi which is planned to open the moment the hosting rights are given to Zafi. (If we lost the bid, we just open it next month). Mitawaqqul is also located near but not too near the airport and there are 4 plus 1 official only hotels located around the radius, thus minimalizing the need to get out excessively, except if the artist wants to explore the city, in which we recommend, but kindly also ask for he/she/them/it to be careful and maintain health procedures while enjoying the city and having fun.

MITTAWAQUL MAQZAFI TRANSPORTATION DETAILS:
Airplane: Mukhlis Krasnaya International Airport (18 km)
Ship: Arbaqqi Seaport (24 km)
Maridannur Seaport (27 km)
Iqliza Seaport (32 km) (fun fact, due to all of these places working together and interconnected, these places are called MAMI
altogether)
Train:
NT : Urmi Station (10 km) (If you want to go out of Zafi and enjoy what the outside has to offer)
Limattangi Station (19 km) (Same like Urmi)
Nearest Metro Zafi Stations:

Centre, and the Meme Museum of Zafizamarrah.

BUILDINGS ON WALKABLE DISTANCE (0-500 m / 1/4 mile?):

2. La Galigo Museum (Museum about the famous Bugis literature (it's real irl))
3. Little Bristol (British Cultural Epitome of Zafi)

6. Kam Da Duri School (A school that still exist till now, in which a portion of it is used for Public and Students Museum)

HOW WILL THE STAGE LOOK LIKE?
Image
Designed by M. Daz Rizaq, This stage Implements some technology from the past host, such as LED flooring. The stage is big enough to make big props come true. 360 degrees experience is also available, with hologram capabilities, as well. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE ALL OF THE CAPABILITIES ON THIS STAGE.Because of the nature of the venue, the table for the presenters and hosts will be put at the two end sides of the stage. As for the opening ceremony, North Alezia might opt for one country at a time, in order to avoid any problems.. Unlike the previous host, we want to implement backing screens so that performance can show their stories behind each song. The glass on the floor also gave idea to the logo for WVSC.The backing screen is so wide that you can have a lot of stuff happening in your act. For example, you can bring an orchestra from home, give a big background to your lovely audience, and many more! The wide stage also gives the ability for artists to bring a lot to impress a lot! And there are options to enter and exit the stage. You can do it simple from the bottom doors, or you can do it glamour from the top doors with the addition of going down the side stairs and going up the stairs on the other side. And about the backing screen… We implemented Arico Technology’s Quadscreen! If you want to, you can divide the screen into two, or four, or make it a door! About lighting, there are overhead lamps that can change colour so that you can implement it to create emotion for your song. There are also smoke and fireworks machine. ALSO! The hosts and the eventual winner will get a beautiful gift as well, that is the roof of the stage can be opened to bring a lot of action. We also have some ideas where our host will be parachuting down to the stage through the opened roof. For the winner, it's up to them. We gave them a choice of big fireworks, or flying using that big round platform, or not opening the roof at all. With ARICO Technologies, we also implemented lasers and flying inside the venue. And, we kind of realized this last minute, but doesn't the stage design kind of feels like a port and a ship?

LOGO DESIGN!
Image
For Zafi 83, we’re giving you “The Flow”. The meaning is pretty simple. “Whoever You Are, Big or Small, Tall or Short, Fat or Skinny, Any Race, Any Religion, If we all unite together towards one goal of unity and love, we can create a beautiful flow”. This logo also pays tribute to Zafizamarrah's Maritime History. With the Flow also representing the wave of the sea.
Image
Postcards will consist of the flow version of each country’s flag. Some countries flags (Elejamie for example) might look simple, but for the flow, it’s very hard to implement. But, this is no way a bad thing. This way, we can actually create something simpler. There will also be the Country’s name and running number, and the artist name, and finally the song name under it.
OTHER VARIATIONS
Image
Image

For the scoreboard, we implement the scoreboard in a simple way. We might put flags in there for additional info. After few votes, we will give to you A TOP 5 ranking, giving you special insight on who should you put your attention to. Previous bid suggests that we don't make the scoreboard move, instead staying in place is currently still in discussion or if we'll go modern and move it based on point count.
Image

WHO SHOULD HOST?
We figured it out. Robi lost Alezimania, Ainii got selected, they’re twin siblings, they can sing, they can host, they both are fluent in so many languages. And thus, THEY will be our host for the contest. This is a pretty unique one too, and suitable. These twins are actually half Buginese with a pour of Russian in them (they might not look like it, but their father is Russian)
Image
Andi Robi Idris Novogrody is the oldest of the twins born on January 30th 1990 at 23:30. Actually, he’s going to represent North Alezia this edition, but he lost to Samara and Izdar back in Alezimania, earning him 2nd. He has hosted few events starting from small local parties, to the National Film Festival. He is also a father of two (Fu’adillah (7) and Ishani (2)). He's a fun and creative guy, and sometimes uphold justice (he was a detective in Tel Hadiv Police, until he quit 5 months ago (he still cooperate with them a little bit). His workmates actually love his voice and one of the biggest supporters for Robi's Worldvision Adventure). He love his spreadsheets so it's no wonder that things will go well with him on the voting.

Image
Andi Ainii Irqimaza Novogrody is the youngest of the twins born on January 31st 1990 at 00:10. She has also hosted a lot of events, with the biggest actually being Alezimania last edition, in which she famously said “Oh yeah, my twin bro’s here. What a problem” . She is also the better one in speaking Buginese. She’s currently married without any child. She's also the talkative one, thus with her, it won't be such a bore watching Worldvision

We also thought about having a green room host, but who should it be? Hmmmmm……. (Continues to Hmmm with an operatic voice)

RP Details on how to also befriend a North Alezian
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uhfVDJ ... sp=sharing

These info are all Zafi's commitee has to offer for the World, and we hope that you picked us and come to enjoy our beautiful city of Zafizamarrah. Thank you for putting your interest and reading our bid, and Attho'i!

WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST 83 CANDIDATE CITY
DAMANSARA, ANTAHBRANTAHSTAN

Image

Image

Image

Damansara, named after the legendary Anturian figure Sri Damansara Anak Rampai, is a city located in Kuala Belait province, where local legend establishes that the city itself was founded in 1739, although it has no particular source, it has been widely accepted that the city was founded that year. Originally a very small city, the city prospered after one of its past regents decided to turn into tourism as a major source of income, and to this day, the city itself is one of the most widely visited tourist city after Lanun Island. Living up to their reputation as a famed tourist destination, the city is itself is unique by the fact that its buildings are mostly painted with bright, vivid colours, with several big rocks (as you can see in the photo) appearing in several parts of the city, which also function as a landmark of some sort, although the locals would prefer that the citizens stay away from it as it may collapse at any time.

Living up to its multicultural undertones, the city is home to approximately 450.000 citizens according to the Anturian census, with a majority of them being ethnic Muslim-adhering Javanese and Melayu descent, although a significant minority also identifies as Coloured and Chinese, whom prefers to do Chinese ancestral worship. This melange of cultures caused the city to be well known for their cultures, such as the traditional floral-making art, delicious foods like kari berapi (a kind of spicy curry that is made with Sichuan pepper, similiar to Chinese mala), and also it's famed local marketplace and tropical-themed, luxury-brand filled shopping malls.

Image

Image

Crystal City is an entertainment building development, consisting of a hotel, mall and an indoor venue that bears the same name, created by Anturian housing conglomerate Suwarnadwipa Corporation, the venue was finished in the second quarter of 2016 and since then has been used as a place for exhibitions, several concerts by Anturian top stars and live events such as the Miss Anta pageant. The venue itself, seating 8.500 people in full theatre seating, is easy to access, as the venue is connected by toll roads from the heart of Damansara and from Damansara's international airport. Knowing that international delegations also need to prepare themselves, the indoor venue also have a sizable preparation room for the delegation to do makeup, do some training, clothes-changing and brief their representative on the upcoming show, ensuring that the singers will be able to perform their best on stage while ensuring that everyone has privacy in preparing themselves. Praying rooms and toilets are widely available throughout the venue.

Image

Image

The stage, designed by Inka Associates, is inspired by ripples of water, which is a common sight both in Antahbrantahstan and this multiverse, from that inspiration, Inka Associates designed a circular stage, wherein performers are going to stand in the very middle part of the stage (the inner circle), whereas the outer ring can either be used for props, used for dancers and backing singers, or simply be left empty. The inner circle and the outer ring are separated by an empty circle (the middle part), which will be used by the artist and other delegates to do final preparations before they go onstage.

As you can see in the image provided, there is no LED screen to accompany the performance, however, as compensation, there will be specially constructed spotlights (provided by JLK Lighting, known for their works on The Voice Anta, Miss Anta, and the yearly New Years Gala) that are able to display a variety of colors with outmost clarity, ranging from the heavenly, bright light to the whole spectrum of the rainbow, The delegates have a chance to customize the colors and how the strobe lights moves in order to make a good and long-lasting impression towards the audience, additionally, more conventional stage effects are provided for everyone, such as fires, smoke, and holographic technology.

Below is a video on how the stage will look like, accompanied by images of what the stage can do.

Image
Image

Image

Ana Melina, born Ana Melina Sousa, are going to guide the audience throughout the show, starting the career as a news anchor. Ana Melina began doing her first hosting gig by doing variety show hostings, and later on, she would be employed to host a variety of events, such as the Miss Anta finals, the election debate, and even the RR New Years' Gala, so, the audience can rest assured knowing that their host will do their outmost job to guide the audience while at the same time being entertaining so as not to make the show very boring and rigid towards the viewers. Ana Melina is also ready to prepare in case the televoting system is in place again this edition, though the decision lies on the WorldVision Committee to decide.

Image

The postcard, keeping the deep blue gradient theme, will be simplistic. The artist's running order is on the left side of the postcard, filled inside a white circle, whereas the nation, alongside the artist's name and song title, will be put on the right side of the postcard. It was designed to ensure that the delegations do not need to procure anything complicated for the postcard design, thus saving the delegations time and money.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING ALL OF YOU IN ANTAHBRANTAHSTAN.
