A solution to the long-standing clashing claims between our nation and Pohnei hasn't been found in the times and framework set up in accordance between our two countries in past times, despite our willingness to do so.
We recognize the Ankedo Islands as integral part of our nation we were willing to cede in the name of regional peace but our neighbors don't seem so interested to harmony, so without second thoughts we've decided to prepare to the possible escalation.''

1.800 troops, 6x 9K37 Buk medium-range SAM systems and 1x S-300VM long-range SAM system are present in the artificial Samora Machel Island.

In the artificial island there's the only airstrip around the islands, which hosts 4 Kamov Ka-50 attack and scout helicopters and 6 Sukhoi Su-35 Multirole/Air superiority fighters.

The harbour contains 1 frigate, 4 corvettes and 12 patrol boats.

These units have been mostly unactive all the time but as a tension strategy, Kergstan has moved 3 patrol boats near to the southern shores of Onapet Island.

Notice on the Navy Escort Across the Strait of Ponhei

It has come to the attention of the Maritime Authority that tensions have escalated in the ocean between Ponhei and Kergstan, as we have received reports of military confrontation between the two nations. We are unable to verify these reports, though the reports are numerous.

Under a preventative mindset, the Authority has struck an agreement with the Nacradian Armed Forces (Navy Detachment), below referred to as the "Navy". It is urged that all sailors passing through the aforementioned area file sailing plans at least three days before their passage, so that an escort can be prepared.

The Navy will also extend this offer to the members of the Southeast Asian Treaty Organisation.

Esteemed President Houston,
I came to know of your preoccupation over the fate of the local people of the Ankedo Islands.
It's of utmost importance for us to leave to the locals the freedom to progress with their natural rhythms in the social, cultural, commercial spheres.
We plan on working out a legislative framework in which we guarantee the exclusion of the Ankedo Island from any kind of commercial activity that may change its landscape and even avoiding fishing 50 km from the coast of the two islands.
The same can't be said for Pohnei which exploits the minorities of its outlying provinces without interest in the environmental hazards and the cultural and governmental autonomy asked by those minorities.

Recognizing the small population of the islands and their inability to be self-sufficient in many areas and recognizing the need to preserve their unique traditions, we see ourselves as a tool in preventing health care crises, offering help in natural disasters and so on.

So in our opinion our presence on the islands is in no way an occupation, it's not imperialistic in nature as we're not using the islands for commercial interests nor are we exploiting the locals.

I personally respect your will to defend this small community but i find it unnecessary, but i do offer you to send some independent observers from your nation to the islands.

I understand your worry about the ability of your nation to maintain strategic commercial routes but I can assure you that one of the main duties of the Kergstani troops stationed in Samora Machel Island is that of protecting international maritime legitimate trade routes.
We wouldn't recommend the presence of your navy to avoid useless confrontations that may arise as there's always a risk in volatile areas but we offer to host your ships in our harbor

Greetings, I am Colonel Brandon Chan. I am writing on behalf of the Strait of Ponhei Trade Protection Patrol Group (SPTPPG), which has been dispatched by the Navy of Nacrad. The patrol group will consist of three corvettes and two frigates. We express the gratitude for the generosity of Kergstani authorities for the offer to host our ships on Samora Machel Island.

However, after reading more about the situation, we have a few questions.

Firstly, seen as this port in question is in the heart of contention, how safe is it? In addition, has it been made known that a neutral fleet, i.e. us, is allowed to dock?

Secondly, it was stated that any sort of proselytism outside places of worship are banned. However, seen as most, if not all, of our crew adheres to the Christian faith, and further considering that the crew does not speak the local language, is it possible at all to allow church services onboard while docked at the port?

We understand that there may be sensitive areas where we are not expected to appear in, and we will make our best effort to avoid them.

We express once again our gratitude to the generosity of the Kergstani authorities and we look forward to a prompt reply.

Dear Colonel Brandon Chan,

Although Pohnei's repudiation of our military presence in the area the country decides to not involve itself in direct confrontations on the island recognizing its military inferiority and it will be less willing to do so by the presence of neutral troops in it which could backfire in the public perception of their military actions.

We informed them of our proposal to Nacrad but we're still awaiting for a response.

On the second question, diplomatic missions and foreign diplomats, troops and so on are allowed to practice their faith and proselytize among them within their vessels, offices and in case a temporary permit can be given for the building of a place of worship on Samora Machel Island.

Bringing religion in a conversation with our troops or with the locals of Ankedo is a red line for us unless it's a conversation, critical or not, of our policy per se, in that case a conversation in good will about the technicalities of our system is accepted and it's something that is discussed on tv oftentime.

I hope this response answers to all of your doubt concerning the South Akasea sea and Kergstan in general but feel free to ask further.

We have received your reply. Seen as you are still obtaining permission among the locals, we will defer our departure by a few days until you hear further from the local population.

We do not see the need to build any places of worship on Samora Machel Island itself, as we deem our ships sufficient for this purpose, and also we do not wish to waste land that can otherwise be used for beneficial purposes on the island.

To all parties involved in the Ankedo Islands dispute,

In the name of the Gods and the Goddesses, most gracious, most merciful.

On behalf of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Jayanagara VII of Majapahit, Divine Guardian of the Realm, as well as His Excellency, Premier Sri Indra Thohir and his government, the Imperial Bureau of Foreign Affairs of the Empire of Majapahit presents its most sincere compliments to the respected governments and the people of the Federation of Pohnei, the Socialist Republic of Kergstan, and the local inhabitants of the Ankedo Islands.

It is with grave concern to us that the Ankedo Islands situation has not been completely resolved. Although we have no direct interest on the islands, as a nation that upholds peace, stability, and order, Majapahit does have high hopes that tension in the region does not escalate and that a win-win solution can be found and agreed upon by both Kergstan and Pohnei. We deeply sympathise with the local population of the Ankedo Islands and regret that their homeland is currently a subject of unnecessary dispute between two foreign powers. In the meantime, however, the Majapahiti government has instructed its trade vessels and commercial airliners to exercise extreme caution when sailing through the region.

We would like to kindly remind the government of Kergstan that the Pohneian government has continued to express peaceful intentions and has taken steps towards establishing harmony and stability in the Ankedo Islands. On the other hand, the Kergstani government has instead shown signs of pre-emptive aggression by constructing an artificial island near the disputed islands, on which they have stationed their military forces, poised to attack the said islands.

Majapahit finds these facts highly unacceptable for a long-lasting peaceful solution to this situation. Therefore, we suggest the government of Kergstan to withdraw their armed forces from the artificial island of Samora Machel. We strongly believe that it is the first step necessary to begin finding a resolution for this dispute. Should the Kergstani government disagree, it shall be taken as a proof that Kergstan do not want peace, and instead, wishes for escalation.

Once again, Majapahit has high hopes that the Ankedo Islands dispute could be peacefully resolved in the shortest amount of time possible.

Public Statement Regarding the Escalation of Conflict in the Ocean Near Ankedo Islands

It has been brought to the Organisation's attention that the fair nations of Ponhei and Kergstan have once again had their disagreements over the ownership of Ankedo Islands. the Organisation has maintained a close watch on the situation in the region with great dismay.

It is extremely regrettable that these two nations are unable to settle the dispute over these islands, and further regrettable that the two regimes are unable to allow the indiginous peoples to determine their own fate. We call on all parties to act with extreme restraints, and settle this dispute via pen and ink, not sword and fire.

In an earlier notice made by the Maritime Authority of Nacrad, it was stated that Nacradian navy vessels will travel to the region to assist in the protection of trade ships passing through the region. It is further urged that all ships registered within a member state or observer state of the Southeast Asian Treaty Organisation (SEATO) fly both the national ensign and the Treaty Organisation's ensign. SEATO member nations' navies in the region are to provide protection to all SEATO-flagged vessels.

May peace be sustained in the region. And when violence does break out, may peace be restored quickly.

Given the deployment of hostile powerful weapons in the northern shores of Pohnei, the military of Kergstan has decided to deploy on the southernmost military harbour in Sepalan, a battery of 9A52-4 Tornado and a battery of BM-30 Smerch multiple-rocket launchers.
Unarmed UAVs are flying all over the claimed region.

Yesterday on KTV 2 a documentary was shown linking the Anakedai language to Kergstan's main language, Korandili, showing its similarities and propable ancient common history, describing Anakedais as Korandilis who refused to embrace modern life.
In the documentary pictures of the royalist period were shown in which kergstani sailors were seen with local fishermen in good terms.
Although many scholars have agreed that Korandilis and Anakedais may have cultural correlation, nothing has been corroborated yet.

Hours ago Bantalese secessionist insurgents attacked a military base in the night, killing 5 soldiers and destroying a light utility vehicle.
The government of Pohnei has always alleged the Bantalese United Force has been supported by Kergstan in the past years.

A unarmed kergstani UAV was shot down by a Pohneian corvette.

Kergstan responds by flying two An-124 Ruslan heavy transport aircraft to Samora Machel I. filled with 300 troops, 4 GAZ Tigr Infantry Mobility Vehicle, 2 VPK-7829 Bumerang each and a third one with 3 T-80 Tanks.

Meanwhile the patrol boats who were positioned near to the coast of Onapet Island are returning to Samora Machel Island as a way to de-escalate the situation, or at least to send a signal of distension despite the build-up.


Discontent within the party and among society is rising for a society which is not keen to conflict with authorized protests to take place in 15 cities on june 14th against the military operations.

Statement on the Situation in the Strait of Kergstan
14/6/2020

It has been brought to the Ministry's attention that mass protests have begun in Kergstan, While we condone local citizens' bravery in confronting this regime, it is regrettable to see that there had been needless violence against Nacradian personnel. By the reports at 19:00 Nacrad Standard Time today (14 June), it seems that 15 to 20 Nacradian nationals have been injured, by means of punching.

The Federal Republic of Nacrad calls for all parties in the conflict to stand down from violence, and seek for a satisfactory solution by dialogue, not violence.

At the same time, the Ministry hereby issues the Yellow Travel Warning to Kergstan, meaning that members of the public should exercise elevated caution within Kergstan.

The State Civilian Security Force has cordoned the embassies of the relevant nations somewhat involved in the conflict and has also tried to divide the nationalist protesters against the anti-war ones, now counting 20.000 in the capital city only.
The situation remains calm altogether.

A patrol boat brings an anthropologist, a minority affairs bureau official, a biologist and a botanist escorted by 6 soldiers to study the island of Onapet and formulate cordial relations with the locals.

In the meantime two other patrol boats arrest the course of a pohneian fishermen vessel filled with armed non-uniformed personnel who the Kergstani Secret Services identified as members of the KORMAR marine corps of Pohnei.

There was a exchange of fire mainly with heavy submachine guns for a few minutes after the 12 marines desisted and were arrested by the kergstanis who brought them to Samora Machel I. to be later brought to the main Kergstan islands.

After the incident Kergstan has increased its level of sea patroling and has suggested different routes to the international trading ships and alerted pohneian authorities that their fishermen should avoid the seas around the islands.

If our citizens will not be freed within 48 hours we will prepare to engage into war and only Kergstan will be at fault for it.
We are acting in self-defense, our fishermen were armed because they were worried of the security issue, stop lying and act properly for once!

We also ask for the immediate retreat of the military-scientific team from Onapet I.

Pohneian troops clandestinely landed to Onapet island in order to build a temporary airstrip to set a base of operations for aerial missions due to the lack of an aircraft carrier, that's why they're so nervous about the military-scientific kergstani team.

Multiple additional patrol boats and troops from Pohnei are being directed to the Ankedo Islands.

Joyean forces arrived at the islands on June 14th at around 8 AM all 100 maritime infantryman were unloaded and began setting up a small base. Joyean Sang O class submarine have began patrolling the waters around the Kergstan base. Corvettes have been docked at the islands port.

The first escort carried out by Nacrad started today, as a Malaccamax (too big for the Malacca) tanker was accompanied by a pair of frigates. The flag of SEATO flies high above this formation.

Unfortunately, as they passed the disputed archipelago, it was during a skirmish between Ponhei and Kergstan. Some stray shots hit the hulls the ships, putting some holes with the heavier rounds.

One unfortunate sailor had his right arm fractured, when he was taking a smoke at the deck.
