Clash of Kingdoms: Creeping Frost

Map of Paralia: shoutout to the incredibly talented Sarderia, Orostan, Fardel and others who collaborated to make this cuz OP is inept af): https://imgur.com/B4f5NUi

SECOND REBOOT, but now with a fun plot twist. I want to thank my awesome friend Tomia for your contributions to the lore, love you!
(Side Note: I may draw a map...it'd be a shitty map because I've never done one before, but it would be a map.)

Nobody truly knows the cost of the crown. Kings and queens are not to be envied. Ask them, they'll tell you.
Imagine being a king or queen. Or even an emperor or empress, most people have dreamt of it some time during their lives. The power, the prestige, the glamour. Everyone bowing down to you, worshiping you and attending to your every need. Being adored, most people would kill for such a lifestyle.
But most people don't see the dark side of rulership. It's not all being rich and glitz and glamour. It's also an enormous responsibility. Being responsible for an entire nation and their well-being, trying to balance governing thousands or even millions of people, making sure your people are okay, your kingdom does well, making alliances and maybe even waging war. It all falls on your shoulders. And if it's a hit or miss, the consequences fall onto you and your people. It's not just about you anymore, it's about your kingdom. Every decision you make is for that. You BECOME the state, you are barely your own person anymore. Running a kingdom is sacrifice. Oh, and that's NOT counting the threat of rebellion, fake friends, unsatisfied commoners and unscrupulous nobles either trying to take your throne for themselves, wanting to use you for your own ends, and the numerous plots and attempts at trying to kill you. Living in fear constantly for yourself and your family. A royal court is a lion's den, you have to survive or get eaten. There is no in-between. Now, imagine dealing with all of that at sixteen years old.

To better understand this perilous form of existence, one must know the land upon which these conflicts are built. On the continent of Paralia in the year 210 of third Red Era, there exist five dominant kingdoms who rule the political stage in addition to the many other lands that make up this giant jigsaw-puzzle of a place.

In the West sits the kingdom of Marseille and its capital city of Marseis, an ancient and proud kingdom was founded by a forging of alliances between two long-warring powers. Formerly two kingdoms, it was combined into one when the monarchs of those kingdoms wed to form a shield against their enemies. Marseille is a proud and cultural place where though they value tradition hold often progressive and experimental values. It is a place that combines spirituality and cultural costumes with lavish markets and expensive parties. Marseille has historically engaged in combat when it has needed to, but it is far more known for its history of skillful diplomacy and negotiations to build its empire. The Royal House of Keroualle dreams of maintaining its standing on the world stage, and almost every ruler who's been on the throne has worked toward that goal.

The Eastern lands meanwhile are predominantly ruled by tribal Sturian people. Their land is fairly mountainous and divided and so while many tribes are nomadic and fairly mobile, the tribes are often isolated from each other. Though each tribe has their own cultural and history they are ruled by the Stra, the supreme chief of the tribes. The Stra is chosen through tribal council where each tribe presents a champion for the council of elders to chose from. While many assume that those who live in tribes are barbaric and backwards, the Sturian are rather civilized people. Though they appropriate the sport of combat they are far from blood thirsty and often fuel their economy through mining and trade caravans rather than warring and pillaging.

Meanwhile the Northern Termainian kingdom shares similarities to the Sturians but oddly only half of it. Termain is divided into two provinces that are radically different in culture. The southern province of Orias is a highly urban and coastal place with a heavy emphasis on trade and seafaring. Meanwhile the northern province of Tor is made up of more rural territory, and its cities are smaller and ruled by local lords referred to as Jarls. Tor provides most of the nation's military, when a Torian king sits on the throne it likely means the country is preparing for war.

The south is a lightly populated but vast desert territory controlled mostly by the princedom of Jorik. Little is commonly known about Jorik, because it is mostly isolated from the outside world expect for the occasional war or Jorik traders arriving in foreign cities. It is seen as a mystical place, that is most famous for their feared assassins and impressive fighting styles that emphasize stealth and quickness. Jorik's traditions often class with the other great powers, which can make diplomatic meeting slightly awkward.

Finally, there is the Sorosan Republic...a coastal peninsula and a relatively new power founded 240 years ago by powerful merchant-banker families and those who did not wish to live under a king any longer, separatists from the last major war who fled their kingdoms in search of a better opportunity. Surprisingly egalitarian in its style of ruling, Soroso is known for their stunning architecture, their skill in building watercrafts and their emphasis on the power of trade, making them one of the wealthiest countries on the continent despite its relative youth and small size compared to the other kingdoms. This republic is ruled by the Council of the Septarchs and a Lord-Elect, chosen by the people in elections. A Lord-Elect's term is for life, although they can be voted out or deposed if they misuse their power. The Council is made up of a chosen representative from every class of person, from noble to peasant and it always has seven members...their powers work very much like the Lord-Elect, making this democratic country one of the few republican governments on Paralia as well.

In Paralia, magic is as pervasive in the air as the sun or the wind...it seems to seep through to every corner of the land, even the blades of grass. But although magic is so heavily in everything, the gift of being able to summon and wield it is quite limited. Magicians inherit the Gift through their bloodlines, often due to the presence of magical creature interbreeding or some natural/divine phenomenon occurring at one point in that bloodline. It needs to be nurtured in order to be used to its full potential, and so magicians are some of the most powerful beings to be born on the continent. Due to their rarity, mages are highly prized by many leaders for the talents that can make or break an empire...but they are feared by some due to that innate power they possess and often have been blamed for some of the more catastrophic happenings that have gone on throughout this continent's history.

The dominant religion on the continent is known as the Order of the Colors, often times referred to as the Harmony by its followers. The Order preaches that four gods and goddess rule over the realm of mortals and they are represented by the colors red, blue, yellow, and green. This informs the way the calendar is written, as the order views history as separated by eras, each era dominated by the influence of a particular god. Red is the God Forsen, a war god who represents justice and order. For Forsen war is not chaotic and cruel, but rather necessary and just. Red eras are seen as times of turmoil and sacrifice but often end in great triumph and change. Blue represents Osat, the Goddess of Water and tranquility. Blue Eras are peaceful and are told to predict economic and political prosperity but also sometimes stagnation. Next is Gorin, the god of green. Gorin is the natural god, his realm deals with natural concepts such as growth, life, and even death. Green eras foretell bountiful harvests and thriving ecosystems but also warn of ending of good times but promise the beginning of them as well. Finally the yellow era is the embodiment of Ausa the Goddess of love and emotion. Yellow eras tend to bring chaos and instability in political and daily life. Ausa is said to spur passion and rash behavior to those who live during her era.

This age is said by many to be a rare phenomenon known as an Orange Era or a Sunset Era...an era of great emotional and political upheaval caused by the turmoil of the winding down Red Era. Signaling both growth and sacrifice, emotional and political development. The instability and chaos with the potential to lead to something great or something horrid...almost like a phoenix having the potential to rise from the flame and ashes. And this is the time in which teenagers are ruling half the continent.
On top of all this, another burning log has recently emerged. A burning log to put on this crackling fire of an era, one that may turn into a conflagration that has the potential to sweep the entire continent in flames if it is not pulled out...the Hands of Adrasia.
Adrasia is the Pale Lady, the Grey Goddess...the Mother of Monsters. The goddess of death and winter, she signifies the grey winds of change and loss, grieving and ending. She is both a reaper and a sower, a comforter and a killer...and her wily and cunning dangerousness is attractive to many dangerous, disgruntled people. So dangerous in fact, that the other gods had no choice but to seal her away over a century ago when she attempted to spread eternal frost throughout the planet. They crafted a divine magical item called the Void Box, a seemingly ordinary wooden box made of several puzzle pieces carved with runes. Using their strength, they trapped Adrasia inside this box, thus saving the planet once more.
The gods as well as the humans had assumed that was the end of her, but they were wrong. Oh, they were very...very wrong. In recent times, there's been a phenomenon. The temperature seems to have dropped nigh globally, winters and nights are getting longer, summers and days are getting shorter...and reports of criminals in grey robes have been seen in all the countries around Paralia. Investigation into these matters has revealed sightings of a group called Adrasia's Hands. These grey-robed priests use potent ice magic and necromancy, worship all the evil aspects of the Pale Lady, and there have been fears that they plan to bring about her return. It's now our job to make sure that doesn't happen. Old grudges are begrudgingly being mended, old alliances are being broken...it seems like the past is falling away in wake of the Creeping Frost's return, and you either have to shift with the tides or freeze in stagnation. United we stand, or divided we fall.

In this, you will be playing one of these young monarchs , you are in charge of an entire country now. Or perhaps you’re an advisor to the young leader. A noble trying to take the throne for themselves for good or bad? Or even a court mage or a merchant, it’s up to you. Whatever your ambition, it will shape and change the course of Paralian history forever. But keep in mind, the Frost doesn't discriminate. From king to peasant, nobody is untouchable. Will you ignore the icy winds of change in the air and focus on your own ambitions, or will you prepare so your country doesn't entirely get encased in a crystalline layer of death? What will you choose, Your Grace? To help your people or oppress them, to guide them to prosperity or to enrich only yourself? And how will you keep safe from the Frost? Will you lead your country into a golden age or into absolute ruin? So many decisions, and that isn’t counting your arithmetic lesson or marriage proposal.

POPULATION GUIDELINES: Since we have radically different populations cropping up all over the place, a wise player from the old thread suggested to me that I put up a guideline about what populations would be good depending on size and power, so here we go:
Minor Kingdoms: 500,000- 1 million
Major Kingdoms: 1 million-5 million
Great Powers: 5 million- 20 million
Empires: 20 million to 25 million

Monarch app
Name: Charles Keroualle
Age (between 12 and 18): 18
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Human
Personality: Charles at his core, is a young man trying his best. He wants to be as far away from his father's legacy as possible and be a good king, since he genuinely does care for the people of his kingdom and the land he lives on. However, he's also a party boy with a reputation for frivolousness, drinking and spending lots of time in the company of girls (sometimes guys too). This gives off the impression that he's all about the prestige and freedom, but in reality this is a mask to cover up the stress he feels about being thrust into this new position and worrying about whether he'll do a good enough job to fix this mess. His generosity and friendly, outgoing personality is quite popular with the common people, but the nobles are another story.
Sexual/Romantic preference: Bisexual (prefers women)
Appearance:
Image

Bio: Charles-Amadeus Pascal James Andrei Keroualle was born as the second son of King Victor Charles of Marseille and his wife, Queen Andrea Elisabeth...an Oriasian princess. He was never meant to be king, but Victor insisted that all his children be trained to rule one day, and Charles was prepared for a career in the military. Even though he was a prince, he didn't have the most idyllic childhood to be frank...not because his father was abusive or anything (Victor was actually a pretty good father toward his children), but because of his father's obsession. Although Marseille was a strong kingdom, Victor wanted to expand it into a mighty empire...he was obsessed with reclaiming the kingdom's "lost glory of old", and empires are forged in fire and blood. That meant war, lots and lots of war. And war they had, ten fucking years of it. Victor Charles would look for the most minor of excuses to declare war on neighboring lands so he could annex them, adding them to Marseille's domain. He was nearly always at war, it got to the point where the king was conscripting people to fight and jailed them if they refused. Even his own son and heir, Charles' older brother Victor fell during one of these useless battles. Of course, the people were unhappy at this entire situation. What had happened to the proud, egalitarian kingdom they'd always prided themselves on? The only reason the treasury wasn't completely drained was because the queen and the finance ministers conspired to hide money from the king, storing it away secretly so he couldn't access it...it was like a terrible spell had fallen over him, leading the people to dub Victor the Mad King. He'd turned from a beloved monarch into a warmongering tyrant, and with the threat of the Frost it seemed like the entire kingdom would fall if something wasn't done soon. One day, the king had gone out to inspect a new navy ship that he'd had commissioned...he never returned. After hours of searching for him, his body was found on shore with no visible signs of injury. He was dead, and not a soul knew why until the autopsy report came back that he'd had water in his lungs.

To say that the people didn't weep for the king's loss would be an understatement, they actually cheered as his funeral coach rode by. Some even shouted insults from the crowd and while he could understand why, it still broke the heart of the then sixteen-year old Charles who was crowned king a week later. The coronation was met with a mixture of wariness and hope, hope that things would possibly be restored to the way they were and fear that they could possibly have another Mad King on their hands. However, Charles proved to be very much unlike his father and he's spent the two years of his reign trying to fix Marseille's public reputation as well as clean up the mess that the Mad King made of...well, everything. He's returned the conquests his father made but knows he can't fix things alone, so he's surrounded himself with competent ministers. However, in his heart he fears that it may be too little, too late and especially with the Frost threatening to destroy them all.
Goals: Undo his father's legacy, restore the legacy of his kingdom, be a good king, make sure everything doesn't turn to shit.
Likes: Beautiful ladies, handsome men, horses, fine clothes, model buildings. Parties and drinkings
Dislikes: Charles has developed an absolute abhorrence of war due to his father, he sees it as a hugely expensive business that drains money and lives. He also dislikes tyrants or useless leaders.

Monarch app
Name: Efgul IV of the Most Noble House of Nakarasi, Prince of Jorik
Age (between 12 and 18): 14
Gender: Male
Race/Species: Human
Personality: As a child who got the throne, he is used to have his wishes come out and is prone to tantrums. Deep inside though, the Prince is a good person. He cares about his realm and people, so that he has the reputation of being a well-meaning, but powerless monarch.
Sexual/Romantic preference (optional): Women
Appearance: Indian or Chinese boy.
Bio: Born a Fourth-Rank Prince (two generations away from the ruler), Naks lived his days in peace and playful frivolities. His great-grandfather was the illustrious Efgul II. You don't know about Efgul II? To be short, he was the greatest ruler we had in centuries and he ruled for 68 years. He died when our current Prince was 6, for his 62-year-old son to take over. Skip two years and he died. Then, Naks' father would have inherited, had he not disappeared in the desert. So all of a sudden, Third-Rank Prince Naks became Prince, using the regnal name Efgul IV.
Under his rule, little changed for the people. For the nobles and the court, however, golden opportunities sprouted like mushrooms. As of now, there have been 12 regents, the court constantly vying for this position and in general for some office. The nobles are not inferior trouble causers. Nay, they fight over each other's lands, the Prince's authority being just an annoying gnat for them.
Luckily, the Prince is a good person. If he is allowed to speak out himself, he's always in with his realm. Still, to be spared his wrath of not getting any power, the regents shifted his attention to his studies. Efgul was especially interested with the "big beyond", beyond the desert. Maybe there were friendly people there. Maybe they could help him with his realm. Maybe, just maybe, his father was in the "big beyond".
With his 17th birthday (maturity) approaching, the Prince is getting restless, noticing the corruptness of his court and vassals.
Goals: Restore unity in his Princedom and open up to the outside world.
Likes: Getting his will, power, exploration.
Dislikes: Not getting what he wanted, powerlessness, "old things" like the traditions of his realm and the long history he has to learn by heart.

How is time taken care of? Does everyone choose which date his/her posts happen on? Do you have some rule about it?
Like, can I skip months and years, or is every post a week from the previous one?

She's finally done! Shoutout to Tomia for giving me that magic-conception idea.

Monarch app
Name: Henriette Marys
Age (between 12 and 18): 18
Gender: Female
Race/Species: Human
Personality: Henriette is a warrior queen and shrewd politician, skilled in the art of diplomacy and good at using her skilled method of speaking in order to get people to see her side of things. She prefers not to fight, but is capable if necessary and prefers to be out there with her troops fighting in case they have to go to war. In her private life, she's a lover of nature and pretty quiet and mellow...prefers reading books and outdoor hobbies to the riotous parties and balls that other kingdoms are famous for. She's got a kind heart and an elegant manner, but can be sneaky and willing to resort to underhanded methods and lies to get what she feels she needs.
Sexual/Romantic preference: Bi
Appearance:
Image

Bio: Henriette Marie Marguerite Charlotte Angelique Desiree was the only daughter of Princess Renee and Prince Alonzo, the sister and brother-in-law of King Marco of Agcron. The king had tried for a long time, but was never able to produce any heirs with his own wife Queen Marie so Henriette's birth was a joyous occasion for the kingdom. Growing up her uncle's heir, Henriette was taught everything she needed to learn in order to ascend the throne one day and was a bit of a tomboy...always preferring to spar with her friends with wooden swords rather than sit through tea or attend a party. It seemed the only time you could get her to sit still was when she was engrossed in her favorite book or sitting in on her uncle's war council. Her family didn't mind much because if the princess was able to defend herself, that was far from a bad thing. Her family had been ruling Agcron ever since its founding, making it one of the oldest royal families on the continent and Henriette was taught from an early age to be very proud of that heritage.

Her childhood was a happy one, and she was beginning to become more and more active in court life as she got older...when she was fifteen, her uncle allowed her to accompany him to inspect the troops standing guard at the border. It was there that she learned how to drill troops, her uncle told her that troops weren't your personal thugs but men and women meant to defend the kingdom and the royal family if necessary. Whatever loyalty you got, you had to give it back in return...that lesson stuck with her. Everything seemed to change however, when the Frost started to come. It started as unusually chilly weather in their hot kingdom, but everyone assumed that the winter had just been colder than usual that year. However, when the frost wouldn't leave, they realized that their own kingdom had been affected. When reports of Hands of Adrasia activities started to surface, the king himself went personally to go handle the threat and seventeen year old Henriette decided to accompany him. Just as reported, high ranking members of the Hand were working heir foul magics...a battle erupted. The king faced off against the High Priestess, who blasted him with a strange bolt of magic that immediately made him collapse. Henriette had to fight her way to her uncle before they killed him, the two of them narrowly escaping with their lives. The king did survive, but the curse's effects were devastating and only served to chill and weaken him despite the best efforts of their top mages...and that's how Henriette became queen, her uncle had to abdicate due to his own health and was sent away to a place where hopefully they could one day cure him.
Goals: To raise Agcron to the status of a Great Power and get revenge for the cursing of her uncle.
Likes: Fine clothing, being right, books, horseback riding, hunting, embroidery and music.
Dislikes: Being made a fool of, impetuous nobles, her uncle being cursed, the Hand.
Theme Song:
Powers/Abilities:

Kingdom App:
Name: Agcron
History (doesn’t have to be long): Founded by the members of the various Agcronic tribes when they all united under one banner to resist the efforts of northern colonization, Agcron always prized the unity of its country among all else. Because of the reverence given the early shaman-kings, magic always had a potent stance in the country and it became a refuge for wizards and mages fleeing persecution that were absorbed into the fold. The Agcronites used their magical learning to make advancements, while their proximity to the coast has given them a unique style of both culture and architecture that makes heavy use of triangular designs as triangles represent balance and harmony among magic users.
The royal house of Marys came to power when the first shaman-king married a high-ranking wizard and took their surname, hoping to secure the magical potential of their bloodline. Magical abilities are a hit or miss at birth, but the House of Marys continues to be one of the oldest and longest-spanning ruling families on the continent, using their blood and political connections in order to keep power.
Current leader: Queen Henriette I
Government Type (monarchy, republic, etc): Monarchy
Religion: Church of Colors
Population: 5 million
Imports: Wool, silk, cheeses, dairy, wine
Exports: Wood, exotic perfumes, textiles, produce, animals, glass.
Stance on magic: Magic is allowed to be practiced openly and has a high standing in the country, due to the very nature of the united country's first leaders. Magical advancement and experimentation is encouraged, and because of this, Agcron has developed a lot of unique natural advances...including fertility rituals. These unique conception rituals developed from old shamanism that had seen a surge in revival because there was a fertility problem among the upper classes. Taking decades to develop, Agcron is now famous for these fertility cures...so much so that people believe that children can be created by magic there. There's some truth to that, but no magic can create life out of thin air...human nature is always involved in the incomplete process, requiring the embryo to be implanted into an actual womb to develop. One of the most potent is the Ritualis Vitae, a ritual that the life mages perform one that calls upon the blessing of the Life Gods to bring fertility into an infertile body. It's a popular fix for infertile or same-sex couples wishing to conceive children of their own.
Geography: A southern coastal kingdom, Agcron is a subtropical area known known for its dense tropical forests to the south and mountainous wooded areas to the north. The climate is warm and rainfall is heavy, especially during the summer and winter monsoons.

Culture (status of women, traditions/customs, marriage, etc): The Agcronites are pretty libertarian, bright colors (red and yellow especially to symbolize Ausa and Forsen) and tattoos are popular among common folk and nobles alike and the glass produced by this kingdom is said to be some of the finest in the world. There's no ban on same-sex marriage because love is love in the eyes of the gods, and happiness is said to be one of the most important pursuits in the world. The food is often heavily spiced and makes use of local game, fruits and vegetables..especially seafood due to their proximity to the coastline.

Kingdom App:
Name: Termain
History:
The cultures and peoples of Termain are thousands of years old, however the current kingdom that occupies that land is only a few hundred years old. It was created by the War of Unification by the ruler of the province Orias, Dalton the Bold. Dalton used his political connections, and the resources of his trading empire, to create a coalition of local rulers which eventually became the Kingdom known as Termain. The province of Tor proved to be the most resistant to the idea of a united kingdom, and after a war that lasted over a decade Dalton had united the provinces into Termain. The new kingdom thrived under his leadership and expanded into a continental powerhouse. It dominated large swaths of territory in the North and in many ways established two unique identities. In the south, Orias had thrived as a coastal metropolis. It held the capital of Termain, Tera which was now a major port and trade hub for the entire continent. In the North Tor has gained the reputation of a military force, with staunch traditions and rural farming culture. Over time the two consolidated their power within Termain so that they held near total influence over the other provinces across the country.

Termain has a somewhat unique system of governance. It is a monarchy, but one that has an electoral component. Whenever a monarch dies or abdicates each province, of which there are 11, gets a vote to determine the new monarch. Tor and Orias have in a sense developed their own factions among the provinces and so the votes are often divided under these lines. The last vote had been particularly heated, as Tor has begun to denounce the process as rigged by Orias. Most recently King Oda, a well liked figure in Orias but one that was viewed as weak and fickle in Tor had died. This spurred another election, and even before the conclave had assembled to determine their new leader there was talk of northern rebellion if the Tor candidate was not chosen. Sure enough, by a six to five margin Orias' candidate a young woman named Tali Adura was selected to be the next ruler of Termain. Sure enough, the northern provinces declared this new government illegitimate and formed their government with its seat of power the city of Rodar in Tor. Now the powerful kingdom of Termain is engulfed in a civil war that is sure to determine the future of the kingdom for generations.
Current leader: Contested
Government Type: Monarchy
Religion: Church of Red and the Church of Blue are most dominant through out Termain. Red is most popular in Tor while Blue has most influence in Orias.
Population: 20,000,000
Imports: Textiles, iron, jewelry,
Exports: Wood products, food crops, meat, weapons, ships, literature/academic work, magical items and research
Stance on magic: Like many things Tor and Orias have grown split on this issue. In Orias, the famed Court of the Magi is a prominent magical consortium that promotes magical experimentation and learning. Thus magic is quite common in Orias. Tor is far more strict with magic, it is not banned but it is far more regulated, and they have their own research institute, the Spell Guild, that is more conservative and focused on practical applications of magic such as healing and combat magic.
Geography: Due to the large amount of territory that makes up Termain it is very diverse geographically. In the north it is filled with dense forests and open plains where much farming and hunting is done. In south is much more condensed and industrial, with much of the population residing in cities on the coast.
Culture: As expected the rural northern provinces of Tor are more conservative and traditional whereas Orias is more cosmopolitan and liberal. Culture is often a point of contention between the north and the south. Things such as gender equality, freedom of religion, and other personal liberties have been slow coming in the north, whereas the north decries the capitalist and materialist sentiments of the south.

Monarch app
Name: Tali Adura
Age: 18
Gender: Woman
Race/Species: Human
Personality: Tali is many ways a product of court culture. She is beautiful, charming, well spoken, and everything else that is needed to succeed in a royal court. However in turn, she never got much of a chance to develop much of a personal or emotional life. She is a moralistic and determined leader, but she is often described as cold and detached. She often gives off the feeling of always hiding her true feelings, and that her beautiful smile is merely a mask she has mastered wearing.
Sexual/Romantic preference (optional):
Appearance: Tali
Bio: Tali is the adopted daughter of King Oda. The King and his wife Clara proved unable to have children and so when his brother Alder died in combat and left his children orphaned Oda adopted his children as his own. There were three of them, Tali being the youngest among her brother Garen and her sister Kara. Tali was merely five years old when she was adopted and Oda saw an opportunity to mold her into his heir. She was given the best education possible, with a dozen tutors teaching her math, foreign languages, history, politics, court culture and everything in between. She was also trained in the ways of a warrior, becoming a skilled archer and horse rider in her own right. Her childhood was demanding and in many ways isolating. Oda insisted friendship was a distraction, and so outside of her siblings Tali had little contact with people her own age. At age fourteen she entered the court in her own right, becoming an adviser to the king. While many assumed that was a courtesy role, she proved to be an astute politician and actually held her own in many debates. When the King died nearly ten months ago, the members of court saw Tali as the clear successor. Now that civil war has broken out, Tali leads the Orias faction and seeks to unify her country once more.
Goals: Introduce more modern, liberal culture to the north, reform Termainian court, end the war.
Likes: Magic, Court Culture, dancing, archery
Dislikes: Chauvinists, Bullies, broken promises
Theme Song:
Powers/Abilities: Speaks the languages of the four kingdoms and a few smaller ones, very intelligent, skilled archer, trained in minor healing magic.

Monarch app
Name: Lidia Idharen Aro Rhodenia Silvren I
Age (between 12 and 18): 15
Gender: Female
Race/Species: Mage/Elf
Personality: Studious, impulsive, neurotic, haunted, sarcastic, humorous, creative, awkward, introverted
Sexual/Romantic preference (optional): Bisexual
Appearance: Wavy, waist length silver hair, white skin, silver eyes, straight, refined nose, slightly pointed ears that indicate her elven heritage
Bio: The eldest of three children, Lidia Idharen Aro Rhodenia Silvren I was given a premier education at the highly prestigious Mevid Academy, where she learned vital skills on how to run a country as well as how to control her magic. She spent much of her time playing with her two younger sisters, Tadnia Olin Heronia Filis Silvren and Patruchia Uindi Tridis Sorid Silvren, and her parents. Lidia struggled to make friends, and she always felt uncomfortable around her peers. At age twelve, when her mother was assassinated, she was thrust into the center of the political stage. Her father ruled as regent while she continued her education, but her status as Queen was always lurking in her mind. At fifteen, she is of age, and assumed the throne right after graduating from the Academy, where Tadnia (age 13) and Patruchia (age 12) are assumed to be students.
Goals: Maintain order in Silvensia; stay out of war, but build up the military; secure alliances; solve issues through diplomacy; prevent the kingdom from freeaing over; find a suitable (preferably Silvensian) spouse
Likes: Reading, practicing magic, travel, her family, sleeping, writing, playing music, swordplay
Dislikes: Socializing, stupidity, large crowds, "anti-maggers", warlords, corruption, gossip, makeup, overly elaborate gowns
Theme Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cT-3ZXR ... e=youtu.be
Powers/Abilities: Light Sorceress

Kingdom App:
Name: Silvensia
History (doesn’t have to be long): In the coniferous forests of the Northeast, a small population of elves intermingled with mages. Over time, as the chaos of that distant Red Era made it clear that a strong central government had to be established, the Kingdom of Silvensia emerged, with renowned scholar Eedvin Silvren at the helm.

Three years ago, generations after Silvensia was founded, an unidentified assassin shot and killed the hereditary Queen, Queen Lumia Jadnia Illustris Pontach Silvren V. This resulted in massive upheaval, as her heir was, at the time, the tender age of twelve. Now fifteen, Silvensia's current Queen has been formally coronated, and her primary adviser is her father. Despite the strength and stability the duo hopes to promote, the unrest of the Sunset Era cannot be denied.

Current leader: Lidia Idharen Aro Rhodenia Silvren I
Government Type (monarchy, republic, etc): Monarchy
Religion: Order of the Colors
Population: 3.2 million
Imports: Livestock, grains, spices, palm oils, paper, ink
Exports: Raw lumber, manufactured goods, literature, seafood, iron, ships
Stance on magic: Magic is largely accepted, though the ones who possess it are usually the ones who hold the greatest power.
Geography: Sandwiched between Termain and the Sturians, the heavily wooded elven kingdom of Silvensia is known for its rocky terrain. To the east, a mountain range known as the Florvian Mountains serves as the nation's primary source of iron. The Silven River cuts through central Silvensia and runs from northwest to southeast, where it empties into the ocean. The most powerful city, Aventra, is not far from the mouth of the river and rests atop a hill; it is also the nation's capital and houses Salventra Palace, where the royals primarily live.
Culture (status of women, traditions/customs, marriage, etc): Silvensia places a high value on literature and the arts; however, it also maintains a strong military. People are treated equally regardless of race, class, gender, magic status, etc.

Monarch app
Name: Andoras Vorsalrien
Age (between 12 and 18): 16
Gender: male
Race/Species: human
Personality: Andoras is a cheerful but thoughtful boy, interested in good conversations and discussion far more than the rabid sex lives and debauched antics of some of his contemporaries. He cares greatly for improving the lives of the people of his country and indeed the whole continent, and does not care whether he must hurt some feelings, be they that of King or commoner, to do so. He sees his place among the rulers to be as a moderating influence and a driver of progress, rarely authorising force of arms and preferring to defeat his opponents through turning them into allies rather than corpses. This, to the fury of his court, has generally extended to plots of rebellion as well: while many would prefer the idea of hanging traitors, Andoras realised the last rebel Duke's ability as a master of shipping, chatted to him about the nature of the kingdom, looked for advice for his navy from him; the two are now firm allies at court. Although often consumed by his work, Andoras has had a few sexual partners and several committed friends, and before the frost came had a love for nature and new herbs which might improve the countries science.
Sexual/Romantic preference (optional): gay
Appearance:
Andoras is remarked upon for his extraordinary beauty, which must be differenciated from handsomeness. His frame is rather delicate, although he is tall, and it is clear that if asked to wield a blade in battle those who asked it of him wished only for his death. He moves with an extraordinary level of grace, fast enough to seem natural but fluid enough to suggest that he carefully plans even the smallest of movements for asthetic appeal in his mind beforehand: those who oppose him often describe his mannor and appearance as appearing more like that of a courtesan than a king. His eyes are a dazzling shade of blue and his brown hair, which he keeps long, hangs free in well-groomed waves around his shoulders. His voice is soft and cultured, and he can usually be found smiling more than frowning or displaying anger.
Bio:
Andoras was born just over 16 years ago to a family of scholars, and he quickly absorbed their teachings and those of their friends. He lived a normal, happy life for a child; people remarked upon his beauty and quick whit, but he was never expected to become anything more than perhaps a well-respected scientist. He had no real ambitions to rule, and so when Lord-elect Carvil died in a freak goat accident it came to everyones surprise when the then 14-year old expressed an interest to the council to take up the mantle.

This was, of course, perfectly normal to the council. Andoras was smart, his goals were in line with their own, he was easy to get along with and personal. Nobody quite knew who the elven stranger he brought into the conclave was, but he served as a good adviser to the young candidate so it seemed. Clearly he was just that. The fact he was 14 was no issue they thought, of course...he would grow into his role over time. At a time of great political unrest, they appeared not to be able to think of a reason why such a young leader was unsuitable to be king: but...then again, with the stranger making such good points in his defence, it was difficult to disagree. Impossible in fact, it was almost like...the stranger had worked some kind of mind binding on them all, but that couldn't be possible could it? Anyway it was time to vote now, and nobody had any better ideas and...

Andoras was swoarn in as lord-elect that very same day.
Goals: Short-term, to ensure that the progress both in science, magic and trade that had been created by previous lords is accellorated. Long-term, Andoras wishes to bring about the peaceful unification of the continent to avoid the petty wars that had caused so much chaos in the past.
Likes: Talking, humour, science, magic, good food, nature
Dislikes: War, disagreements he can't resolve, being intellectually inferior
Theme Song:
Powers/Abilities: Excellent communicator, sharp intellect, the ability to win friends easily, a good scientist in his own right.
