Otherwise, I like the bid.

ICly it makes sense as Jeckland are trying to re-announce themselves as a potential host for sporting competitions and show off to the world. Having as many games as possible in the country does that.

OOCly, the vast majority of past WLCs (at least in recent times) have been hosted this way. In addition, there is no home advantage function in the scorinator, so to me it makes sense to play at neutral venues to reflect this.

There are ways you can account for a home field advantage even though the scorinator doesn't specifically include it.

OR you could always go back to the spreadsheet to scorinate lacrosse like we did in my day and it was perfectly fine, you whippersnapper! :P

Northwest Kalactin’s Much Better Bid

IC Info
Northwest Kalactin is a nation that is fully involved in the world of sport. Lacrosse is a top 10 sport in the nation. It isn’t watched by a ton of people but a large international competition like WLC is sure to bring attention to the sport in the nation. The nation runs a domestic league that has a large cup at the end of each season. The tournament will be held in the cities of Coffs and Kempsey, two cities where lacrosse is a more popular sport.

Format (Don’t worry no Casaran this time)
Instead of some Casaran group stage we will do a regular one. In pretty much all cases we will have a 4 team per group group stage. I plan on using a round of 16 however, if we don’t get the numbers I am happy to switch to a 12 team first playoff round.

Scorination and RP Bonus
NSFS will be used with the Slightly Modified Xkoranate formula that is built to reduce scorelines that are extreme, I downloaded the formula onto NSFS. I will make the formula public. RP bonus will be Cumulative but it will degrade by 50% at the mid point of the group stage. You will have a 33.33 percent carryover of RP Bonus from the Group stage to the KOs. I will release a public sheet with RP grades in it that the public can see!
Example of A Public Grading System

EDIT: The formula is under the spoiler right here!

Quick reminder to anyone who signs up a puppet to follow standard NS Sports protocol by declaring the puppet in both the puppet's and the main nation's sign-up posts.

Maccian and the Royal Kingdom of Québec’s Host Bid for the World Lacrosse Championships 34

IC Information

Maccian:

Under the new leadership of our most esteemed and glorious Supreme Leader Timofeé Karcermarskásgusson, sports in Maccian are receiving unprecedented amounts of funding. One sport which is benefiting from this increased funding is football, which is soon going professional in the new Maccian Football League or MFL. Other sports such as basketball and of course lacrosse will follow suit.

The three sports that have been previously mentioned are all showing increasing participation levels every single day, which can be credited to the Supreme Leader mandating that teenagers graduating from secondary school will have to play these sports and be assessed. The talented players will be invited to play in university, where they will hopefully be invited to be drafted into these soon-to-be professional sports leagues.

At the moment, there isn’t a single stadium in Maccian built for lacrosse but football stadiums will be used in place. Maccian seeks to host this tournament to allow the younger lacrosse players to test their worth against other nations and to also gain enough popularity to eventually set up a professional league.

Québec:

Located in Northwestern end of Calania region in AO, Royal Kingdom of Québec is a nation known for its environment, rich cultural diversity and claims one of its region's most educated and cultured population. Led by their new monarch, Christine II, the country is a semi-constitutional monarchy, with both the royalty and the democracy playing a huge role in Quebecois politics.

With a high HDI rating and affluent economy, Royal Kingdom of Québec is an advanced nation with long years of peace and stability within the nation, while still allowing for societal and economic progress over the course of its history. With a beautiful environment, advanced economy, state-of-art infrastructure and love of international and domestic sports, Royal Kingdom of Québec is your place to go for your once-in-a-lifetime voyage that welcomes every traveller with smile and cheer.

Being located far northwest and with the indigenous peoples' association with the sport, lacrosse is a well-attended and received sport here. Quebecois Lacrosse Association is a 12-team league that's well followed, with high occurrences of attendance figures going over 8,000 people for the games. More IC information is available via TG upon signee's discretion.

Hosting Experience

While the current nation is yet to host an event, the user behind Maccian has hosted the South Toronto Invitational Cup and the NS Chess Tournament 1. The opportunity to host this tournament will give me the experience and confidence in myself needed to then branch out and host other tournaments. This is one of the main reasons I have sought out a senior host so that they can guide me in co-hosting this tournament.

The user behind Royal Kingdom of Québec, has hosted or co-hosted the World Cup 73 and 77, World Bowl XXIV and XXVIII, World Cup of Hockey XXV, XXVI, XXIX and XXX, Baptism of Fire LVII and LXII, Cup of Harmony 64 and 68, and International Basketball Championships 17-18, as well as AOCAF XLVII and CR XXI.

The user behind the nation is currently the Commissioner of the NationStates College Football (NSCF), has also served as the President for the World Cup of Hockey Federation for 6 editions (24-29), and as a previous or current member in many sporting committees, as well as formerly organising the NSCAA Ice Hockey Competitions. He also has hosted several seasons of domestic hockey and football leagues and is going to be working on to scorinate many pro and amateur leagues in Quebecois sports newswire.

Format

We will be aiming for a 32-team tournament for the World Lacrosse Championships. Teams in groups of 4 will be playing their groupmates in a double round-robin, with the group stage games happening in the participating nations. 2 teams from each group will progress into the knockout phase of the tournament where games will be played in either Maccian or the Royal Kingdom of Québec.

For tiebreakers, we will use the following: points, head-to-head points, goal difference, head-to-head goal difference, goals for, goals against. RP bonus will be cumulative and will not degrade at any point of the tournament.

Feel through to ask any questions regarding this bid either on this thread or message me or Québec via Discord.

1. Not everyone is going to automatically know your status as a puppet or as a parent nation.
2. The convention of announcing puppet/parent status has been in place for a long time.
3. My reply was hardly deserving of the rudeness of yours.

If you have any further need to discuss this, you know how to reach me via TG.

I have updated my bid with potential formats, but posting a separate comment as well in case people missed it.

With host voting now open and the number of signups looking more clear, I would aim to have either 32 or 40 teams playing in eight groups of four or five, with the top two reaching the round of 16. I would also entertain a 36 team tournament with six groups of six, with the top two plus the four best third placed teams going through, although this would only occur if I could not reach 32 or 40 signups without a significant delay to the start of the tournament.
