Only the Avatar, master of all four elements , could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.

Two months after the Avatar finished the Fire Nation continued to wage war against the four nations. People had lost hope thinking the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads while others still had hope that the Avatar would return someday....



Welcome everybody to Avatar The Last Airbender: Untold Tales! This RP does not have a main plotline instead this RP will be a free roam styled roleplay where sub-plots are welcomed. Before you join though make sure you read the rules!

Rules
1. Do not be overpowered!

2. No one-liners! At least three paragraphs when roleplaying in the IC! However, if you are replying to another player only one paragraph is required for player responses.

3. Do not meta-game!

4. You can not become the Avatar! This RP takes place two months after Aang vanished.

5. You can only be Fire, Earth, Water, and Non-Benders you cannot be Airbenders since the Fire Nation wiped them all out.

6. Do not mess with the show's timeline, for an example: Your character should not conquer the Fire Nation.

7. Give players time to react you should not control another player's character.

8. If you want to kill off a player you must get their permission.

9. NPCs can be controlled however, if a player has control of another NPC you cannot control that NPC.

10. You are allowed to have two characters to roleplay as.

Biography:

Gushan Mao was born to a prominent Earth Kingdom family in the city-state of Shanyao in the Northwestern Earth Kingdom in 28 BG. His father Lugong Mao was the governor of Shanyao and while his mother, Beyang Mao was heiress to Shanyao's biggest trade company.

As a young child, Gushan showed prowess in his Earthbending abilities. At age 12, he had successfully learned several styles of Earthbending after being tutored by a select group of Earthbending teachers hired by his family. Despite excelling in his learning however, he was pressured by his father to abide by a rigid and tight lifestyle that greatly restricted his freedoms. At 15 years old, Gushan fled Shanyao to wander off and travel the Earth Kingdom.

With his trusty dagger and a pouch of coins, Gushan wandered the Earth Kingdom and travelled to different cities and villages all throughout. In his three years of wandering the Earth Kingdom, Gushan made friends with many people and progressed his Earthbending abilities with the help of several Earthbending masters. Gushan eventually stopped his journey at the Si Wong Desert where he learned to Sandbend. After three years of wandering, Gushan left the Misty Palms Oasis to head back west after hearing rumors of the Fire Nation occupying settlements and setting up colonies there. Curious and filled with adventurism, Gushan finally had his first encounter with the Fire Nation in the colony of Yu Dao. Here, Gushan wandered the street and was horrified of the treatment of his fellow Earthbenders by the hands of the Fire Nation colonists. Reduced to the role of mere laborers and barred from participating in the local government, the Earthbenders were significantly discriminated and segregated by the Firebending elite. Gushan's godfather used to be the city's Earth Kingdom administrator. Alone and running out of money, Gushan sought to find his godfather only to find him imprisoned in the city dungeons. His godfather was rotting in his cell, starving and lying in a pool of his own filth. Apalled by this, the young Gushan began to terrorize the Fire Nation garrison in the city by ambushing patrols in the streets, bringing down support pillars of the city barracks and disrupting the supply routes in and out of the city.

Eventually, Gushan tried to jailbreak his godfather from the Fire Nation and successfully did so after ambushing the warden and taking his keys. Gushan carried his godfather, ran and bended an underground tunnel to bypass the city walls. Gushan then carried in his back his godfather for three days until they reached a military outpost of the Earth Kingdom where they were then rode an ostrich horse back to the safety of the city.

Upon his return, his father embraced him and celebrated his act of saving his godfather. Gushan's experience with the Fire Nation made him a much different person and gave him a reason to fight for the Earth Kingdom. Filled with nationalistic fervor and growing disgust against the Fire Nation, Gushan asked his father if he could go to Ba Sing Se and enroll in the Ba Sing Se University; his father happily agreed. For the next four years, Gushan studied political science and cultivated relationships with Ba Sing Se's elite. After graduation with high honors at the University, Gushan enlisted as an officer in the Earth Kingdom Military and was stationed at Ba Sing Se after several political favors by his father. For the succeeding years, Gushan would move through the ranks of the army quickly and eventually became Captain at age 28. Gushan, though highly educated and a briliant strategist and tactician, lacked real field experience save for a tour in the Southern Earth Kingdom guarding small cities against raiders and pirates.

Two weeks after the Air Nomad genocide, the entirety of the Western Earth Kingdom came under attack by the Fire Nation. The de-centralized nature of the Earth Kingdom made a unified defensive front very hard for the military forces commanding from Ba Sing Se. Some governors and administrators were confident that their local forces would be able to fend off the Fire Nation because of their numerical superiority- they were however, disastrously proven wrong in the Battle of Han Tui where local forces were overwhelmingly defeated despite outnumbering the Fire Nation's invading forces. After news of the battle reached the capital, Gushan was called back to Shanyao by the Council of Five to lead the defense of the city-state.

Gushan arrived at Shanyao to see it preparing for war; earthen barricades were errected, food were stockpiled by the tons, the walls were fortified and a make-shift moat was created by benders re-directing water from the nearby coast to surround the city. Gushan, now in-charge of the defense, commanded the city's army and braced for the first attack by the Fire Nation. The forces of Shanyao waited for three days until the first wave of Firebenders arrived and blasted columns of fire unto the city walls. The Earthbenders responded by launching dozens of large earth coin projectiles to their position. The Fire Nation forces after the initial wave stopped and then formed into a line marching towards the city with Firebenders constantly throwing fire at the battlements and the defenders. As they march forward, the blistering heat of the flames made the defenders unable to quickly retaliate and counter-attack. Gushan then had an idea, half of the city's forces would go underground, tunnel below the line of Firebenders and then hit the advancing Fire Nation army from behind with a barrage of rocks and projectiles. This proved successful and the Fire Nation forces were caught off-guard. A skirmish occured. An exchange of earth and fire ensued and in the chaos of it, the entire sky was set alight and fogged with earthen dust. After the battle, the Fire Nation forces retreated back south leading to a victory for the Earth Kingdom forces.

In the battlefield lay hundreds of dead soldiers. The sowed empty fields was now full of craters and scorched earth. By the end of the battle, the city of Shanyao had lost roughly half of its forces and was now extremley exhausted. Gushan knew that this would not be the last attack and quickly ordered the makeshift repair of the city walls and outer defenses. After a month of repairs and preparing for the next attack, in the distance, a larger Fire Nation invasion force was approaching and were now backed-up by the Fire Navy ships in the nearby coast.

This yet may be, Gushan's last stand.

Appearance: Ren has a slim figure and is considerably tall, being about the 1.70m. She has tan skin, dark chin-length hair with long bangs and fringe that covers her entire forehead, which occasionally looks messier and rounded, and royal blue eyes.
Type of Bender: Waterbender (Southern style)
Weapons: Water bottle
Biography: One of the few who escaped the fire nation’s raids on the southern water tribe. Ren made the long journey towards the northern water tribe for safety against the fire nation at the age of 20.Throughout her journey he made a living as a water tribe healer. Healing travelers, townsfolk, and other people for some cash she could use to travel in caravans. Her long and tedious journey across the earth kingdom helped her develop her waterbending skills, and Ren could bend other liquids other than water such as tree sap, and oil.

She traveled across the earth kingdom, frequently through battlegrounds and helping wounded earth kingdom soldiers, and fighting against the fire nation. Her talent is recognised by one of the earth kingdom general, and took her under his wing. The general taught her earthbending techniques she could copy as waterbending, and taught her how to use various weapons, which then she could create through waterbending. She trained with the earth kingdom troops until she was 26. Unfortunately her platoon and the earth kingdom general was killed near present day republic city, in a surprise ambush by fire nation forces.

In a fit of rage, and powered by the full moon. She massacred the fire nation forces and fled to the nearby forests, Ren ran away, and never looked back. She realized that she can’t be safe from harm while the rest of the world suffers, thus her eyes are set into another goal. Ba sing se, where she will help fight against fire nation imperialism as a healer, and a fighter

Born a bastard from a slave woman taken as a war-booty from a farming village, to a father from a warrior-raider semi-nomadic tribe known as Sche'Gori. Who took him to be raised free his own son, growing later in life to become the same arrogant and megalomaniacal traits character, like his father before him. Raiding and plundering many villages, cities, and other nomadic tribes, until events made him to not be able to continue this life anymore for reasons only he is in the know about.

Disgraced and banished from his tribe, he embarked on a journey that took him on horseback, on his one and only true friend in this lone world, a horse he named Obrozye, galloping through lands of Belguards hostile and vengeful to his kin and kind, he ultimately found his way to a port city in which he found a captain who agreed to take him beyond the seas of Krillin itself. Embarking on an odyssey of sailing the high-seas until he found himself disembarking at a small fishing village in the eastern part of the Earth Empire, with nothing but his dependable horse, his weapons and the supplies and items he carries on his back (most precious of which is a small bag of gold talents and precious stone he obtained during the many raiding expeditions he undertook with his clan.

Now directionless and being a stranger in a strange land, the future looks limitless in what it can throw at the former, bitter member of the Sche'Gori tribe....

Biography: born in the city of north Chung ling in the fire nation ( later called fire fountain city) Yiren's family was moved to the Yu dao colony away from the fire nation archipelago Yiren's father taizo was a lieutenant in the fire navy and a good firebender he taught Yiren firebending from a young age and everything was going well for his family until his father disrespected an admiral of the fire navy and was challenged to an Agni Kai where he lost his life soon he and his mother were constantly harassed by the soldiers under the admiral's command but due to the great dishonor Yiren's father brought to them everyone despised them, in school Yiren was constantly bullied by the kids and teachers calling him and his family cowards, despite all the struggles Yiren was able to finish his education but his mother died and he barely had money so with all the money he had he used it to make a short jian crafted in Yu Dao, a city known for it's metalworking, he started wandering through the world doing odd jobs, despite being a great firebender he now only uses it when it's an emergency, he slowly became adept at handling his Jian and soon a new chapter of his life is starting following the air nomad massacre and start of the hundred years war, it wasn't long before he got entangled in a battle hundreds of earth benders and fire benders on the border of Yu Dao both sides colliding he had to fight to get out of this mess alive and with all his strength he used his firebending... Burning both Earth kingdom and fire nation soldiers he fled amidst the chaos

Biography: born in the city of north Chung ling in the fire nation ( later called fire fountain city) Yiren's family was moved to the Yu dao colony away from the fire nation archipelago Yiren's father taizo was a lieutenant in the fire navy and a good firebender he taught Yiren firebending from a young age and everything was going well for his family until his father disrespected an admiral of the fire navy and was challenged to an Agni Kai where he lost his life soon he and his mother were constantly harassed by the soldiers under the admiral's command but due to the great dishonor Yiren's father brought to them everyone despised them, in school Yiren was constantly bullied by the kids and teachers calling him and his family cowards, despite all the struggles Yiren was able to finish his education but his mother died and he barely had money so with all the money he had he used it to make a short jian crafted in Yu Dao, a city known for it's metalworking, he started wandering through the world doing odd jobs, despite being a great firebender he now only uses it when it's an emergency, he slowly became adept at handling his Jian and soon a new chapter of his life is starting following the air nomad massacre and start of the hundred years war, it wasn't long before he got entangled in a battle hundreds of earth benders and fire benders on the border of Yu Dao both sides colliding he had to fight to get out of this mess alive and with all his strength he used his firebending... Burning both Earth kingdom and fire nation soldiers he fled amidst the chaos

Biography:Born in the Northern Water Tribe's Capital of Agna Qel'a to two powerful water benders, Su Wen grew up dreaming of one day surpassing her parents in water bending. Over the years, she trained her butt off eventually surpassing her parents in skill. When she heard about the Air Nomads eratication by the Fire Nation, she was shocked to the core. Vowing to never be weak, she eventually mastered both water and Ice bending. At 18 years old, she left her home to begin seeing the world. Su first traveled to the Earth Kingdom to see what it was like.

Appearance: Ren has a slim figure and is considerably tall, being about the 1.70m. She has tan skin, dark chin-length hair with long bangs and fringe that covers her entire forehead, which occasionally looks messier and rounded, and royal blue eyes.
Type of Bender: Waterbender (Southern style)
Weapons: Water bottle
Biography: One of the few who escaped the fire nation’s raids on the southern water tribe. Ren made the long journey towards the northern water tribe for safety against the fire nation at the age of 20.Throughout her journey he made a living as a water tribe healer. Healing travelers, townsfolk, and other people for some cash she could use to travel in caravans. Her long and tedious journey across the earth kingdom helped her develop her waterbending skills, and Ren could bend other liquids other than water such as tree sap, and oil.

She traveled across the earth kingdom, frequently through battlegrounds and helping wounded earth kingdom soldiers, and fighting against the fire nation. Her talent is recognised by one of the earth kingdom general, and took her under his wing. The general taught her earthbending techniques she could copy as waterbending, and taught her how to use various weapons, which then she could create through waterbending. She trained with the earth kingdom troops until she was 26. Unfortunately her platoon and the earth kingdom general was killed near present day republic city, in a surprise ambush by fire nation forces.

In a fit of rage, and powered by the full moon. She massacred the fire nation forces and fled to the nearby forests, Ren ran away, and never looked back. She realized that she can’t be safe from harm while the rest of the world suffers, thus her eyes are set into another goal. Ba sing se, where she will help fight against fire nation imperialism as a healer, and a fighter

Appearance: Dark black hair tied into a bun, steel grey eyes, and wears traditional Earth Kingdom clothes.

Type of Bender: Firebender

Weapons: Dagger

Biography: Okesa was born and raised by a unique family, his mother was a Firebending Teacher while his father was a Fire Sage. Growing up his parents saw great potienal in his Firebending skills and decided that when he came of age he woule be trained. When Okesa came of age his mother began to train him to perfect is Firebending skills and to turn him into a great warrior, when Okesa wasn't training he would go to his father and listen to the history of the Fire Nation and its culture. When his father told him stories about Roku and the Avatars before him, Okesa felt a sense of wonder and inspiration as he heard stories about how Roku and the other Avatars brought peace and balance to the world. After hearing these stories Okesa hoped to be a soldier that would help the next Avatar bring peace and balance to the world.

After Okesa completed his Firebending training he would go on to join the Fire Nation military to follow his dreams, however on one fateful day his father was killed for speaking out against Fire Lord Sozin and his war on the other nations. After learning about his father's death Okesa's entire world fell apart his father was very loyal to the Fire Nation, but when he was against the war they killed him. Soon Okesa noticed that the Fire Nation's culture started to change the Fire Nation he once knew was long gone and after hearing rumors about the Air Nomad Genocide, Okesa decided enough was enough with funds from his mother Okesa left the Fire Nation and went to the Earth Kingdom where he can start a new life and while he still loved his nation, he disliked Fire Lord Sozin and his war against the other nations. After arriving in a Port City in the Earth Kingdom Okesa switched out his Fire Nation clothing to Earth Kingdom clothing to blend in with the crowd. During his travels across the Earth Kingdom, Okesa met and fell in love with a Non-Bender named La Toh who at this point doesn't know that Okesa is a Firebender

Now with someone by his side to help him Okesa sets off to Ba Sing Se to start a new life away from the war... Who knows perhapes destiny has something in store for this young Firebender.
