Well, it ain't Steve Irwin, just some guy named Steve who tries and goes around pestering things and people who seem interesting. Probably got it in his mind that he could do the same thing to since he had the same name.

EDIT: It's also come to my attention that people are still trying to ship Erosen with one of the two single ladies in the group. I think we all know Ero-san and the drugs are the real power duo here.

Why did Catrin beat the shit out of Steve-o?

1) Because he talked about her breasts
2) Because he implied she was old

The detail of the canon lore was much more than I expected there to be which I'm worried about going against. Is it alright for my character to be a former member of a military order (dedicated to the goddess Froenstia) who fought during the war? If so, which side would it make sense for the order to serve?

Don't worry. I've been playing in this thing for almost 7 years and I barely know the lore. Hasn't slowed me down.

Doesn't sound like it'd be an issue to me...course I don't run the thing, so you gotta ask Const.

Welcome to Elementals and P2TM! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the lore. Even I sometimes find myself having to double-check to make sure my writing fits within the canon or make sure I'm spelling names correctly.

The character background you described would work just fine. Odds are that such an order you described would fight on the side of the North for several reasons. Northern Galllia is generally the more religious half of the continent. While the Holy Helreskaffen Church itself did not officially take a side, various orders within the church or those only loosely affiliated with the church tended to be more blatant about their support for the devout rebels. The federal government's struggle for power in Galllia upset plenty of the faithful; no doubt a religious military order could fear either being forcibly disarmed due to being outside the military heirarchy, or being forced into putting their fighting skills to use for the secular government. Also, Bismarke Van Aurenheim is a powerful Ice Elemental himself, so your character's order could fight in his name to glorify a fellow servant of Froenstia.

What's great about it is that Eric has been doing more to create lore than to disrupt it and the character is all the better for it.

Thanks to an offhand story Eric told Aldraniri, it's canon that Villderia (the city-state of Villdernheim) at one point made a false-flag attack on Tyrnâth. His remarks of fighting for "king and country" also lead me to decide that Villdernheim's ruler would be a king, rather than duke or prince like most of the other states in Galllia.

Name: Erica Mika
Sex: ♀
Age: 19
Appearance:
Image

Element: Ice
Skills: she is well read in Gallian classics and experienced in swordsmanship and archery (excelling at the latter much more than former) with a good amount of physical endurance from years of military training.
Personality: Erica harbors an intense hatred for conflict and hates how some orders in the Church have allowed themselves to be corrupted by worldly gain and oppress the people she feels that they are supposed to serve. This has made her cynical about organized religion and hierarchy in general. She wants to believe that the gods are real but feels that she can no longer make herself believe in them outside of natural forces with no real personhood. She feels badly for people who are suffering and constantly tries to find ways to help alleviate the suffering of the poor through charity and protection.
Weaknesses: she is honest to a fault which can make it difficult for her to deceive others even when it is important. She is also somewhat craven and will not push an attack unless her back is to the wall.
Equipment, if any: saber, bow, and heavy armor
Bio: born as the fifth daughter of a noble house, Erica could never hope to inherit the land and titles of her family and instead had to place her hopes in a religious or martial vocation if she hoped to make a name for herself. Since she was never a brave child but was well read, she decided to turn all her attentions onto theology and was allowed to enter a convent at the age of 14 where she became a pious nun dedicated to Froentsia. She wrote some hymns for the goddess, some of which deemed too risque and banned from public by the monastery, but besides that was considered a model monastic and deemed likely to ascend the ranks and became abbot one day.

However the war ruined her chance of a peaceful existence. The military order of the monastery pledged itself to the forces of Northern Gallia and Bismarke Van Aurenheim, although their support was not wholly altruistic, believing that the Ice Elemental would favor them over others and donate lands to them after the war. All of the Elementals who had previously served as acolytes were now conscripted into the Boreal Knights and Erica was one of them.

Despite her craven nature, because of either dumb luck or the will of the gods, she distinguished herself at the Battle of the Nightingale where she accidentally caused an avalanche that buried a monumentally stronger opposing force. She started to become venerated by her fellow soldiers as a devout believer constantly in prayer (unbeknownst to them, for the gods to let her escape from the war). This minor fame lead her to become more and more of a target to other forces who desired to capture her as a status symbol. During one battle, she is said to have fell off a mountain and to have broken many of the bones in her body which would require her to leave the front permanently, although she recovered conveniently quickly and there were no observers to confirm or deny that she fell as far as she said she did.

Becoming disillusioned with the religious order and believing it no longer represented the will of the gods, Erica sneaked out of her order and rode out of the north on horseback with the hopes of starting a new life. The Boreal knights, believing she had betrayed her vows, swore to hunt her down and haven't stopped since, although their resources were limited since they did not receive the amount of lands that they had hoped Van Aurenheim would give them.

During this time, Erica has become a Robin Hood style hero, stealing from the rich and feeding the poor while donning the persona of a daemon of Tenaembra which feeds on the souls of merchants. The illusion has helped her avoid getting caught, although a recent break-in that went wrong has caused mass panic in a city and alerted the Boreal Knights who are suspicious about the real source of the robberies.

I like this character, and I'm very interested to see how she turns out in reaction to her fellow characters and everything this group will go through. She'll certainly have a fun time being thrown back into another warzone, I'm sure.

A few minor questions regarding her bio:
1: Did she desert from the Boreal Knights while the war was going on, or in the year since the war ended?
2: With her pretending to be a Hellspawn that eats merchants, there's two main categories of that. Demons/daemons are animalistic monsters with varying degrees of intelligence and magical power depending on the breed, but not a thinking person with a soul. Daemonnes/Daemonnesses look like humans with green blood, pointed ears, horns, bat wings, and a tail, and all of them are born wielding Darkness magic, though not all at the same level of skill. I imagine either kind of Hellspawn would work for tricking people into fearing her, but at least as a Daemonness she could still talk and do other normal people things without breaking character too much.

Aside from that I see no problems with the character, and deem her suitable for play.

Accepted!

Kudos.

New folks? Exciting!

It’s been a bit, but as far as I’m aware I don’t have a ton to post. I suppose I could move the gang up to the present, but not much would fundamentally change.

Read the lore, holy history book lol, but it was really good. I figure I might as well ask, are there any types of chars people feel the current cast could use?

Water, Earth, Metal, and Fire are open, as far as I’m aware. You could double up on one if you really wanted...but don’t do ice. :p

We have like 3 Ice, 1 Lightning, 1 Wind, 1 Dark, and then a handful of non Elementals.

4 Ice if we're counting Aerion.
