My question is triggered by the letter which James Miller Jr, a Department of Defence advisor and former US undersecretary of defence for policy (2012 to 2014) sent to Defence Secretary Mark Esper resigning his position because “Law-abiding protesters just outside the White House were dispersed using tear gas and rubber bullets – not for the sake of safety, but to clear a path for a presidential photo op,” Miller then writes “You (Esper) then accompanied President Trump in walking from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church for that photo...You may not have been able to stop President Trump from directing this appalling use of force, but you could have chosen to oppose it - Instead, you visibly supported it.”
James Miller Jr. then states that he swore an oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States” and “to bear true faith and allegiance to the same” before going on to state “On Monday, June 1, 2020, I believe that you (Esper) violated that oath..”
Anyway for those who might know at what point would Trumps actions in violation of his oaths actually cross into criminal activity - and given that Impeachment doesnt work Is there any other legal recourse open to US citizens to actually have Trump arrested?
The disintegration of the US political system has been both fascinating and horrifying - Even George W Bush has spoken out in support of the Protest! - so I wonder what the next step is.
So short of a coup d’etat or assassination is there any way for the American public to stop Trump becoming a mad Dictator? Will the US Congress come to its senses? Or Will the UN need to Send Peacekeepers?
(Or Should China offer humanitarian intervention and support the liberation of the American people
