Fundamental to the ideals of democracy and civilisation.

We don't want to imagine what our nation would be like without them.

Most wholeheartedly seconded. No truly civilized nation can exist without these fundamental rights.
My population in MT and PMT will normally be capped at around eighty to eighty-five million, unless I state otherwise.

While we love our Democracy and Freedoms we would have disagree with you on this point. Civilized Nations can exist without these fundamental rights and some have thrived in practice and such statements ooze ignorance and latent intolerance.

Freedom of Speech is one of the most treasured rights guaranteed to the Itanican people.. But you know, don't think bad things about Stalin or anything, you might need some reeducation in Siberia.

The four freedoms (Speech, Religion, Fairness and Life) are manifested in the Constitution.
Everybody got the right to speak what he wants until he uses violence to prove his point.
It is fairly known to demonstrate for something, only anti monarchistic demonstrations are total unknown for some reason.

The right to freedom of speech is considered sacrosanct, even by fringe parties. We don't believe it should be unlimited and we do place minor restrictions on pornography, libel and hate speech.

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

We have no way of regulating how people think and no reason to in the first place. Freedom of thought is one of the greatest reasons why Ulvena is an industrial powerhouse. People who think for themselves are more likely to innovate. Our school system is centered on the facts and children are encouraged from a young age to formulate their own opinions based on the facts.

Freedom of Speech is great as well. Spreads great ideas through an open forum. Of course, we do censor needless free speech if it impedes on the prosperity of another. Freedom comes after prosperity.

"Freedom of speech", as well as the "freedom of thought" can only convey a positive message towards the Norsefire Party.

All subversive, leftist ideas are severly censored in Zokoria.

We fully support freedom of thought, and for most part freedom of speech as well, but making derogatory remarks about a specific group/s of people is prohibited. Things like "INSERT RACE HERE are intellectually inferior" is prohibited in Andocara. Andocarians do keep certain opinions and beliefs to themselves.

Radiatia has some of the most robust freedom of speech laws in the world.

For a while there was a school of thought that interpreted the constitution as supporting "freedom of thought, not speech" and which allowed things like hate speech laws to be implemented - ultimately this was struck down by the Supreme Court as the constitution does explicitly allow freedom of expression and also explicitly prohibits all forms of censorship (except for national security concerns, which can be censored for a period of no more than 25 years.)

There is complete freedom of thought here. Freedom of speech exists, but is regulated in many cases, although usually these regulations are only enforced upon celebrities and corporations. Pretty much, these regulations make it much harder to say hateful things in public places, in things that you make money from, etc.

Although the Twilight Embassy may protect freedom of thought/speech/expression in spirit and in practice, officially and culturally we condemn traditional democracies for just being theocracies that replace "God" with "Free Speech," treat their constitutions as absolutist unalterable dogma, and prioritize the protection of "Free Speech" over the rights and lives and other people.

As such, "Hate Speech" (which is the logical end result of a fundamentalist attitude towards Freedom of Speech/Expression) is an act of treason punishable by death.

This nation is neither dystopian nor utopian; rather, a mix between idealist policy-making with ruthlessly-pragmatic enforcement thereof. "The Order of H Light" is an alt account of mine that plays out as a more straightforward dystopia/false utopia.

However, my IRL political views are admittedly very weird and may intersect with this nation in more ways/less ways then I care to admit.

My nation allows free speech and thought. But there are certain sites and areas that the government and the public ban such. That's because lots of people in my nation don't like the government, and the public are basicly the ones in charge of freedom of thought and speech. It's pretty common for anti-government or religion to be said around my nation.

We don't support freedom of thought and speech as much as we profess to, but full-on mind control/brain jacking are highly taboo and illegal here unlike in many of the polities in our star system. Censorship and narrative control are our tools of choice for manufacturing consent & controlling the political process effectively
