Felix is thoroughly liberal on everything except for guns too (at least publicly), where he's very careful about his messaging and his words. He uses "gun sense" instead of "gun control", and stuff like that, knowing going on a full-on crusade against the second amendment is a terrible idea. Even though he privately supports stuff like assault rifle bans.

That is interesting as the Virginia suburbs are significantly more liberal on gun control than things like fiscal issues.

But given he has ambitions statewide he wants to watch himself, given how conservative Western bits of the state can be. He's fiscally careful as well, he always tries to make sure there's a realistic way to pay for everything, but has no problem raising taxes to do so.

Fair, but IIRC Cubans and Puerto Ricans are the two biggest groups of Hispanics in Florida by a long shot so I only brought them up

Biography:
Born in West Virginia in 1968, Jonathan DuPont grew up in a Coal Mining family. Taught to be hard-working and sceptical of politics from a young age, DuPont would keep those traits into adulthood. On his 18th birthday he began working in the Mines, and he did that for 4 years.

In 1990, he decided that he wanted a better life for himself, and went to Washington looking for a job. After seeing a sign advertising a role as Capitol Groundskeeper & Janitor, he walked in off the street and did an interview. A couple days later, he was accepted, and has been in the position for the 30 years since.

As other the Capitol budget decreased over the decades he would not advocate for more of a budget. In fact, he stated on multiple occasions that he didn't need a budget. Eventually he became the sole Groundskeeper, and the entire area relies on him for cleanliness. He works hard and doesn't make a fuss, just like his father taught him to.

He is a generally quiet man, but when he does start conversations with Congressmen and Senators they find that he is the most sceptical person on the planet. Anything they say, he will question, playing devils advocate. Many a young Congressman have begun talking to him, thinking that he's just some dumb janitor, but then it will turn out that he knows more about the subject than they do.

After thirty years of service, DuPont is still running strong. Many new Politicians will ask why he is the only groundskeeper and janitor, and how he manages to do the seemingly impossible job of maintaining the entire Capitol by himself. The older politicians will always tell them: don't question it, just let it be.

Maximiliano Hernandez was born in Tampa, in 1970. His father was Manolo Hernandez, who was born in Chicago in 1943 and Angela Hernandez, born in Mexico City. His father was in the military with the rank of Corporal. Maximiliano had great grades in elementary school and a large clique. But in middle school, after a stint in the soccer team, his grades fell to Bs and C's and to a low point with D's in 7th grade. He had always been brought up in a conservative home, and as such was engaging with his liberal friend and radical liberal friend in school on debates. In high schools he went to a high school where he got better grades and entered the University of Stetson in 1988.

He got his degree as a tax lawyer after 7 years, graduating in 1995. Gaining enough money, he became a major member in the Tampa Republican Party. He ran for City council in 2000, barely winning, only after some dirt had been released by his opponent. In 2004, he ran for election, this time winning a larger chunk of 53% of votes. In 2008, he ran for Mayor, and lost the race by a large percentage. He came back in 2012, finally winning Mayor. Finally in 2016, he ran for Representatives and won. He has had tentative support of President Wolf during his election in 2016, but later supported most of his policies.
