Stadium Information
Main Stadium: Libira National Stadium (capacity: 68,000)
Other stadium used: Mancodas Complex (cap. 60,000), Camp of Power (cap. 61,000)

Libira National Stadium is located in Fiskadaha City, within city limits. This is a stadium reserved for the national team, and is only used for main matches such as Cup Finals, or the Semi-Finals of the home leg of the international club competitions, etc.
Mancodas Complex and Camp of Power are the other 2 stadiums used for the qualifiers, located in Mancodas. Camp of Power is the home of Mancodas City, a big club in Poafmersia, while the Mancodas Complex is part of the Mancodas Sports Hub, and is home to another big club in Mancodas Athletic FC.
For visitors to Poafmersia, Poafmersia is widely considered as a conservative nation, and having just opened its doors to the world, foreign visitors might find themselves subject to questions from locals. Regardless, fans are very welcoming of foreign teams, and they are very supportive of the local football teams, as seen by the numerous rivalries in club football, and people's unexplainable craze over football.
Within Fiskadaha City and Mancodas, private vehicles are banned, so visitors, locals and even football teams are expected to take public transport around the city within the city limits. (Even the President takes the underground and buses between his official residence and the Parliament House, known in Pomish, the official language, as Rasal Ridimag. Only foreign diplomats are allowed to get private vehicles with special conditions, such as being allowed only in Fiskadaha City and Mancodas city limits, as well as areas with no car restrictions. Mancodas and Fiskadaha are the only two cities with embassy areas.)
For travel into Poafmersia, the two main international airports for foreign teams and fans are the Fiskadaha International Airport and Mancodas International Airport, located near Fiskadaha City and in Greater Mancodas respectively. For travel between both cities, there is the Mancodas-Fiskadaha high speed rail, allowing for travel in under an hour.

Fans
Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. You can be assured, however, that they would be traveling around to support their team, so do reserve half the spots in stadiums for them because they would pack it to the brim.

History
Child's play
The sport of football was never really popular and was viewed as a children's game up too the mid 1800s. This was because Slapball and Peacockball were very popular games and has ties to the nation's history ever since the first Stalic Empire in the 900s. Although children back then would prefer to play Slapball over football, it was their favorite pastime. Back in the mid and late 19th century, it wasn't uncommon to see children play football in wide empty alleyways or fields in the city where construction was temporarily stalled. They would use anything to mark where the goalposts was from chalk drawn on walls to trash cans layed neatly side by side a few feet apart.
Image

First game of football
In 1888, in the midst of the wave of European Revolutionary Wars, the Ministry of Sports was encouraged to make football a national sport. After the Ministry of Sports finished the construction of the first ever football stadium in Emastalia, Old Arbeek Stadium in Rotterdam, they clambered together two teams sponsored by rich oligarchs to play the first match ever in Emastalia. This game was played between Gouda and Scheidam with an attendance of 10,040 people in the stadium, and 5,000 more people outside of the stadium listening to the matches via score tellers that would come in and out of the stadium. This marvelous spectacle was just the beginning of the history of professional association football in the nation, as the first leagues were made.
Image

Football Leagues
After the first football game in history, organized football matches became more popular as stadiums across the nation were built. Soon after leagues were formed which were largely independent until the late 1920s. The most notable leagues were the Bunderreich League, the Alpaena Tori League, the Belgian League, the Dutch League, and the Mastalian League. Soon in 1927, most of the official leagues went bankrupt or defunct due to the Great Depression of the 20s. These football games was so ingrained into Emastalian culture, that the government organized the Emastalian Pyramid League Association. Private regional football leagues still existed but paled in comparison to the new and improved government funded leagues. The Granzion League was the 1st tier league similar to the IRL Premier League with the Fēiāza League being the 2nd tier league under it. The Granzion League had top class players such as Haal Beranz and Nier Keschi.

Emastalian Football Team Foundation
The Emastalian National Football Team(MZRK in Emastalian) was founded in 1928 by MARD. MARD was becoming a major football powerhouse organization in Emastalia, and soon bought the Emastalian Pyramid League Association in 1934. But the old Emastalian roster was made of legends such as Adje Kasver, Gerard Paen, and Jean Baptiste Muronte. They played their first ever match in the same year against the Lukanian National Football Team and won 3-2. Since then from 1928-1930 the team went on a tour of winning and losing matches across the world against other teams. They soon participated in the First Europa Cup in Ramalia Shanatopian, and won the first ever Europa Cup

Captain of the Team

Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing. Will be controlling a synthetic body to account for the fact that he is 117 meters tall, and he will not be joining the field for the most parts.

Current Valentian Team – 4-5-1, using this formation

Goalkeeper:
  • #10 - Holly Lapia Starlight. Chronologically 88. Physically 25. Technically a Valentian by all measures, belonging to Garden at 6th Mile Road. A little too shy, and would rather spend time in her dimensional garden tending her magical flowers. Made out of "cold lights" - a being made entirely out of light energy, but with FanT elements. Her body temperature measures a constant 40 Kelvins. WARNING: DO NOT touch her anywhere BUT her hands.

Attackers:
  • #7 - Clarissa Alanis Star Harumi. Chronologically 93. Physically 24. A harmonious relationship between an emulated human consciousness with raw CPU/GPU power. Participant of both NSSCRA 8 and 9.

Defenders:
  • #14 - Valentina Freya Thida Aye. Chronologically 73 years old, Physically 29 years old. Has quite a terrifyingly quick adoption rate to Modern Earth Sports. Tends to be a bit shy. Participant of NSSCRA 9.
  • #87 - Adriana Krystal Kowalski Lillian. Chronologically 83, Physically 30. Adriana the Polish Robot, as she was commonly known. Certainly both the brains and the brawn, making her a perfect defender for the team. Has some machine-based quirks.
  • #76 - Marcus Alan Ariel Reynolds. Chronologically 113. Physically 27. Certainly not a pushover despite his calm and collected nature. Has a little bit of a tendency to jump into his worm suit, despite it proving to be a hazard in the football field. The antennas could have been rounded.
  • #25 - Mandy Juliet Colette Diva Bertillon. Chronologically 105. Physically 28. A little bit on the excited side. Has adrenaline levels twice that of a normal person. Tends to get hungry. A lot. Including during the football match.

Midfielders:
  • #99 - Augustine Lorenzo Terry Imparato. Chronologically 131. Physically 32. A rather imposing man by all accounts, though he doesn't seem to have that much of that Italian stereotype. A rather nice man, all things considered; just don't insult him and his drink.
  • #23 - Genki Matthieu Lee Zhuān Jiā. Chronologically 116. Physically 33. Was told not to bring martial arts into the field. He is willing to comply, of course.
  • #71 - Donnie Derrick Sam Fiannaidhe. Chronologically 136. Physically 32. Football runs in this man's heart, which is simple enough for us, really
  • #15 - Jolyn Maxine Caulfield. Chronologically 114. Physically 27. A schoolteacher, a spy, and the Vice-President of a good chunk of Valentine Z. Participant of NSSCRA 8 and WGP2, though the latter met an unfortunate end for her. Still determined to make a name for herself.
  • #31 - Gwen Tracer Fate Allison. Chronologically slated to be at least 1 x 104080 years old. Physically 26. If something happens in the Omniverse, she has a hand in it. Doesn’t seem to let smaller things happen on their own. Certainly not a cheater. Participant of both NSSCRA 8 and 9.

So far, no substitutes were made in order to account for the injuries. There were field injuries, but they were still something that a stim pack can fix, along with Germaine's healing abilities.

Factbooks. No NS Stats for this nation!

Imperium of Squornshelous
World Cup 85 Roster

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y
Godmod injuries to my players: Y
Give yellow cards to my players: Y
Give red cards to my players: Y
Godmod other events: Y

Anything goes, I'll roll with it

The Imperium of Squornshelous is a proud and ancient nation, extant for an indeterminate number of years (early records being largely lost to the mists of time), and participating in its 39th World Cup qualifying attempt, albeit just its second in the modern era. At present, the Imperium exists at a cyberpunk tech level in a pocket dimension consisting solely of itself. It is not wholly unlike the Dreamed Realm, except for the part where it is wholly unlike the Dreamed Realm. More of a nightmare, really. A history of inexplicable temporal and spatial phenomena suggests that this may not always be the case. At present, the Imperium has been unable to find a way to coax its technology into functionality when beyond the bounds of its pocket dimension. As a result, the national team has been assembled from members of a fringe group within Imperial society. This Luddite religious sect consider cybernetic implants to be anathema, and as a result, suffer no ill effects from the abrupt cessation of function of such implants when leaving the country. While certainly not up to the standards of old, this hastily assembled team during World Cup 84 qualifying and at the ensuing Cup of Harmony were respectable enough that the team has been brought back intact, with one notable exception. Striker Lyyti Vang, who led the team in goals during qualifying, vanished following the team's final match at the Cup of Harmony. No information on her current whereabouts has been made public in the Imperium, though some media outlets have, in the year since, introduced the notion that she was abducted by a terrorist organization, the precise nature and goals of which remain, at present, obscure.

Empress Masumi Stadium at night

Ken Hayabusa is a controversial character in the Kandorese sporting world next to being one of the youngest managers in the nation. His achievements and reputation speak for themselves as the previous coach of the very successful Imakazawa Ravens which he led to be national champions 4 times in a row. Hayabusa believes in "total football" to make sure the team has players available to cover for each other in almost any situation and any position. The Kandorese team is looking to play a more aggressive football and rely a lot on quick, successive passes and counters. But, when in doubt the team will hold back to eventually mount a mass assault from the midfield positions. The midfield is the most important terrain for this team; this is where the most important and strongest players control the entire play. The strikers for Kandorith are something different, the team has no traditional style strikers but rather extremely fast and pacey runners; who will take their opportunity to run at the goal at any chance they get; while the midfield will close down the area behind them to ensure the team's dominance on the opponent's half.

The midfield is not only the engine behind the team, but also very capable at scoring goals. The strikers are mostly wingers and runners who are supported by a capable and pacey midfielders who all have a talent for finishing. In defense the Kandorese team is cautious and pressure absorbing. The entire team will do their very best to tire out opponents and strike when they are off-balanced with quick and long passes the Kandorese defense can switch to a full-out offense and get the ball in the opponent's half within two passes. Unlike many teams, this team does not have a set formation but more a guideline in what their responsibilities are. According to Ken Hayabusa winning is the responsibility of the entire team, therefore the entire team should be able to play in complete synergy with the rest.

The home stadium for the Kandorese National Team is the Empress Masumi National Stadium, named after the current Empress in honour of her coronation. The rather new stadium is designed as a multi-purpose sports complex with the possibility of completely changing the venue's layout for almost any sport. When the stadium is not used for sports the large complex is used to host concerts, large events and even traditional markets. The Stadium is the home of the Kandorese first division team FC Tenkyo who are one of the "big four" teams of the nation. With a total capacity during football matches of 90,000 attendants the stadium is a symbol for a new era of the Kandorese nation and its people.

NEWMANISTAN ROCKETS

OFFICIAL ROSTER FOR WORLD CUP 85

Team is the reigning Campionato Esportiva champion!

Starters:
Image GK: #1- Ryan McNamara (26, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– A taller keeper that prefers to rely on instincts. Is often aggressive towards the shooter, and this has seen him have success, especially while at the Proving Grounds. He is not as successful in road games, but is still considered the best keeper in the nation and is coming off an excellent campaign in the Campionato Esportiva.

Image LB: #2- Tim Marley (29, Rovers United, Zwangzug)
– An average frame, but an overall high work ethic. Very good with his overall positioning, and is not often going to be faked out by an opponent. Though he can be outmuscled.

Image LCB: #4- Scott Corellis (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Complements Marley in that he is the strength on the left side of the defense. That is the thought process anyway, because these two have never actually played together before.

Image RCB: #5- Adrian O’Bryan (32, Kitara Athletic Association, Banija)- TEAM CAPTAIN
– An intelligent defender, but sometimes a little too overconfident. While he knows the game very well, and is very studious when watching game tape in preparation, he trusts himself a little too much.

Image RB: #3- Shawn Stoddard (27, Austin City, Xanneria)
– While Corellis is a strong player, Stoddard is the most physical of the group. He will not be shy to be aggressive towards the opponent and figures to lead the club in bookings. Was a fan favorite in Centralia and likely is becoming that with Austin City. Enjoys eating poppyseed bagels.

Image LM: #8- Jorge Cortez (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Excellent two way player, that will both score goals and be one of the first ones back to defend. He has very good chemistry at home with Scott Corellis, and it should be expected that they will hook up once or twice for a goal.

Image CM: #9- Tyrone Vannella (30, Springfield Thoroughbreds)
– Has blazing speed and a ton of talent. Unfortunately, he is also known to be an arrogant player, and some players on the team might not be thrilled he is on the team. He’ll be the last one to show up at practice, and the first to leave. Not a fan friendly player, either.

Image RM: #12- Jarrell Connolly (28, Putnam Lake Eagles)
– Playing in Putnam Lake, where soccer is the most popular within Newmanistan, Connolly has a lot of pressure on him. Thankfully, he has always been able to handle that. He’s played with Vannella before, and despite their differing personalities, they have been known to play well together.

Image LS: #10- Brent Chapman (26, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– Has a hard shot and is very accurate with it. He’s not going to do much else for the team, though. Can be beaten by a strong defender.

Image ST: #15- Jerome Beyer (29, South Charlotte Condors)
– An astute passer, Beyer will be looking to set up either Chapman or Schaefer, or another Rocket more then he will be looking to put shots on goal himself. Very creative with the ball and getting by defenders.

Image RS: #11- Derek Schaefer (28, Southport Tigers)
– Figures to be the team leader in goals. While Chapman has a harder and more accurate shot, Schaefer has more overall skill that will allow him to get more shots on net. He’s no slouch with his shot power or accuracy either, though.

Regular Substitutes:
GK: #21- Aaron Scarpa (32, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #6- Calvin Douglas (29, South Tier Seagulls)
CB: #7- Thomas Caprotti (28, Loudon Leopards)
MID: #13- Dirk Donato (29, Dover City Mountaineers)
MID: #17- Samantha Paschke (31, Centralia Firebirds)
ST: #14- Jimmy Halligan (28, Jessicaville Millionaires)
ST: #16- Antonio Cruz (25, Penthoria Riverman)

Reserves:
GK: #25- Jesse Gallant (29, Olympia Gladiators)
CB: #22- Neil Blades (21, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #23- Eli Watson (27, Brighton Bulls)
MID: #18- Peyton McLeod (27, Nashua Broncos)
MID: #26- Saquon Shields (29, Loudon Leopards)
ST: #19- John Baker (28, Pocono City Capitals)
ST: #24- Shane Shuster (21, Daytopia Racers)

Manager- Miguel Hernandez (52, Jessicaville Millionaires)
Formation: 4-3-3
Skill Modifier: +1.5
Uniforms: Home- Sky blue with white trim; Away- Black with sky blue trim; Keeper- Yellow with sky blue trim. If conflict- White with sky blue trim

Interested in a Newmanistanian player to transfer to your domestic league?
– The Empire of Newmanistan Soccer League (ENSL) provides an opportunity for our best soccer players to make a good living and pays them fairly enough, so it’s not as if these players are not making good money and living a good life with good enough fan support. However, soccer, or as you may say, football, is not as big in Newmanistan in comparison to other sports. Therefore, they are likely to be convinced and interested in the prospects of playing in a league with a higher profile. Ones that do those domestic club competitions. If you are interested in a player, simply TG me and it is highly likely I will say yes as long as I consider your league to be at least equivalent to the ENSL. If you’re just developing your league and are interested, I ask that you target subs and reserves first. Those transfers will probably be accepted.

Info on the team: Soccer/football was relatively unkown in Simpralia as the only known in the nation was Qanal, a sport native to Simpralia, but Queen Addison Rae decided to bring a mainstream sport into the nation. After signing up for the WC and the BOF, Simpralia needed to assemble a team. So they took the hottest sports prospects from the nations, and took them to the official Simprlaian sports stadium (Glory Park). After practicing for many days and nights, they were ready to play the other countries and show that simping is ok. The morale of the Simpralian people is off the charts, meaning that the Simpralian National Team must do well to quench the thirst of success of their citizens.

Ones to watch: Felix Kjellberg is very fluid on the ball and an excellent crosser comparable to Trent Alexander-Arnold. Skefanny is a huge threat in the final third and has huge finishing ability, thus being called the "female Zlatan." Ella Mai has an imposing aura around her, not letting any attack get past. She learned these traits from a 1 on 1 session with Virgil Van Dijk. This is the first international appearance for all the players on the team.

BOF review: Simpralia got eliminated in the quarter finals in the BOF.

Sankt Konrad National Football Team, World Cup 85

Nation Name: Protectorate of Sankt Konrad
Short Names: Sankt Konrad
Demonyms: Sankt Konrader
FA: Sankt Konrad Football Association (SKFA)
Colours: Maroon, blue, gold
Anthem: ‘Forwards, Fair Isle’
Capital City: Wilhelmstadt

Overview

Once a colony of the Teus Empire, Sankt Konrad achieved independence in 1896 and has grown in prosperity since then, owing to the offshore oil facilities that have allowed it to become exceptionally rich. This small island nation is made up of about 60,000 people, and is known for its particularly harsh winter weather. The most popular sports on the island have become football and the national game of handball. The football league, the Raidodassi, is dominated by the two biggest clubs on the island, Kolonial and Nomadik. These clubs represent the two major ethnic groups on the island, the descendents of the original Teus colonists as well as the native inhabitants of the island, the Albmoti. Football clubs from the island entered into IFCF competition for the first time this past season, and having achieved good results in their first forays into international competition, the SKFA has decided to send a representative national team to participate in WCC-affiliated competition. There are questions surrounding the team, however, and one of the biggest is whether the players of Kolonial and Nomadik, with such a fierce rivalry between them, can put aside those differences to play for this team. The side seemed to be perfectly fine, however, at the Baptism of Fire, where they reached the Quarterfinal stage of the tournament. A note on names: Sankt Konrad’s Albmoti population do not have last names, instead having a first name and a middle name. Most players will be listed with just their first name, although some also use their middle names.

Staff

Coach - Kalla

Kalla was once the assistant manager at Nomadik before agreeing to take charge of the national team for its foray into the Baptism of Fire and World Cup 85’s Qualifiers. Generally considered a tactically-strong manager, he appears to be favouring a more offensive style for this side going into the Qualifiers. Football on Sankt Konrad is characterized by the work ethic of the players, as well as technical skill developed on the difficult terrain of the island. Kalla’s squad will be focused on using that technical skill and work ethic to break down other teams, with a focus on width. The Reindeer will line up in a 4-3-3 formation. Given that the World Cup Qualifiers will take place during the offseason for football in Sankt Konrad, a 23-man national squad has been chosen to stay together for the duration of the Qualifiers.

Squad

Goalkeepers

GK - Fretterat - 33y/o - Divtasvuodno - #1
GK - Lejo - 30y/o - Nomadik - #22
GK - Adrian Ganser - 25y/o - Kolonial - #23

Fretterat gets the #1 shirt here, he’ll captain the squad as well thanks to his veteran presence on this team. He was excellent for Divtasvuodno in the last Raidodassi campaign as they really tried to push against the Big 2, and although they ultimately fell short, Fretterat did earn Golden Glove honours. Behind him are Lejo, the starter for Nomadik, and Adrian Ganser, the starter for Kolonial. Ganser is the more promising for the future, but Lejo is the more finished product, and if Fretterat should falter it is likely Lejo would take his place.

Left Back

LB - Simon Husch - 22y/o - Kolonial - #3
LB - Mavnos - 25y/o - Nomadik - #13

Simon Husch was absolutely integral to Kolonial’s title win last season, being a force down that left side. He’s capable of bombing forward and getting involved in the attack and is also a very solid option at the back as well. He earned Best XI honours in the Raidodassi last season, and is expected to develop quite a bit more in the future. Backing him up will be Mavnos, the Nomadik left back who plays a similar style, if a bit less offensively-minded. Mavnos has a bit more experience, and it’s every bit possible he ends up taking over from Husch if he performs well in this tournament.

Centre Back

CB - Rede - 26y/o - Kolonial - #4
CB - Nilpa - 23y/o - Kolonial - #5
CB - Joha - 24y/o - Divtasvuodno - #14
CB - Per Scholl - 22y/o - FC Sankt Leopold - #25

The clear duo here is Kolonial’s stars, Rede being consistently the best defender in the Raidodassi over the last several years. He and Nilpa have great chemistry together, and have helped Kolonial to one of the better defensive records in the league throughout their time together. Between the two, Rede is the better overall player while Nilpa has a bit more skill and can launch long balls forward. Joha was an exceptional player for Divtasvuodno last season, while Per Scholl was key to Sankt Leopold’s great year. Both are strong ball-movers, and will play a key role in the squad, as this team’s ethos appears to involve building from the back.

Right Back

RB - Rasmos - 22y/o - Divtasvuodno - #2
RB - Rastos - 23y/o - Nomadik - #12

This won’t be confusing at all, right? Rasmos of Divtasvuodno was absolutely inspired for his club last season, arguably the fastest fullback in the Raidodassi and with an excellent cross to boot. There’s been talk that Kolonial will be wanting to buy him, and he’d be an excellent addition to their squad. Backing him up is Rastos, the Nomadik fullback a more defensive option and having a strong season with his club.

Centre Midfield

CM - Iskko - 25y/o - Kolonial - #6
CM - Gappe - 19y/o - Nomadik - #8
CM - Bastian Kreuzberg - 30y/o - Kolonial - #16
CM - Bierill - 25y/o - FJ Gaivuotna - #17
CM - Sappa - 25y/o - FJ Girona - #18

This is a position where Sankt Konrad are quite deep, due to the focus on midfield play in the Raidodassi and the overall technical skill of most Sankt Konrad players. Iskko is the first name on the team sheet, he is a very skilled player who moves the ball well and is capable of taking on any opposing player. Gappe will be beside him, having played quite well in that playmaking role for Nomadik last year, and there are high hopes for the young midfielder. Bastian Kreuzberg will sit a bit deeper in a midfield trio, he’s more of an anchor man who tackles well. Behind them, Bierill is more suited to that Kreuzberg role, and was the leader of a strong Gaivuotna midfield last season, while Sappa is more accustomed to the playmaking role. If anyone on this team can make something special happen in game, it’s Iskko, and he is a name opponents should watch out for.

Left Wing

LW - Aksel - 20y/o - Nomadik - #11
LW - Joel Simit - 24y/o - Divtasvuodno - #19

Aksel was the breakout star of the Raidodassi last season, really coming to life in the early part of the season for Nomadik and playing a key role in their title challenge all year long. He’s a dynamic winger, almost unmatched domestically in terms of pace, and has a great deal of tricks up his sleeve to beat any marker. He’ll be a handful for any defender assigned to him. Backing him up is Joel Simit, who has an excellent cross on him and was a key player for Divtasvuodno all season last year. Aksel is the star here, though, and is a hot prospect to watch out for.

Right Wing

RW - Elias Nilse - 23y/o - Nomadik - #7
RW - Hentto - 29y/o - Kolonial - #17

Elias Nilse is probably the best winger in the Raidodassi, though his teammate for club and country Aksel has put up a challenge on that. Elias Nilse just does everything right, he’s got great vision for the game and seems to see things before they happen, allowing him to usually play a key role in making things happen. Short in stature, he’s quite strong on the ball, and once he gets going it’s hard to stop him. Hentto, meanwhile, is Kolonial’s right winger and is a creative outlet for that side, one of the better crossing wingers in the division.

Centre Forward

CF - Lavo - 18y/o - Kolonial - #9
CF - Simit - 23y/o - FJ Girona - #10
CF - Timo Hackl - 24y/o - Kolonial - #21

Lavo was the star for Kolonial last season, winning Golden Boot honours for that club as they went on to win a league and cup double. He’s a poacher with a very powerful shot, and he reads the game very well. At 18, however, there is still room for him to develop, and one concern has been consistency. Behind him, Simit is a powerful forward who led FJ Girona in scoring last season, 3rd overall in the league, and he’s a good option in case the Reindeer need to put more pressure on a backline - the big man is tough to handle. Timo Hackl also joins the squad, more of a false nine than a pure striker, and he usually does his best work alongside another striker. Luckily for him, his domestic partner Lavo is also here, and if needed, the two can form quite a pair up top for Sankt Konrad.

Kits

The first-choice kit will have a blue background with a maroon sash, outlined in gold, on the front and back. The shorts will also be blue, as will the socks, while the collar will be maroon. Player numbers will be maroon. The second-choice kit will be primarily white with blue and maroon trim. The goalkeepers’ kit will be gold. The choice of colour was done to include national colours of both ethnic groups of Sankt Konrad: blue and white (Albmoti) and maroon and gold (Sankt Konrad Teus). These colours are also present on the national flag.

Group and Schedule

Sankt Konrad's World Cup 85 debut sees them drawn into Group 6 alongside the following nations: Balqia, Mercedini, Floyssauu, Gopnikea, Valentine Z, Bunkaiia, Hampton Island, West Angola, Lisander, Caelapes, Banija and Hapilopper. Sankt Konrad have little history with any of these nations, of course, given that it is the nation's first foray into the World Cup. Caelapes, however, were a group-mate in the Baptism of Fire, and Sankt Konrad won that match 3-2. The most high-profile opponent are Banija, one of the top teams in the world, who the Reindeer will welcome to the island on the very last matchday of Qualifiers.

The Reindeer will play 12 home matches during the campaign, and have chosen a variety of stadiums across the country to host matches. These include the two largest in the country, Der Hafen and the Albmotsstadion in Wilhelmstadt. There are a variety of others chosen from across the country, including stadiums in Girona, Deatnu and Sankt Anna. One scheduled home match conflicts with the national reindeer racing championship's regional qualifiers, one of the largest cultural events in the country, which means that most of the important stadiums in the country will be in use. The SKFA has therefore decided to use the stadium in Jokkohakko to host this match. Despite its small size, we hope the visitors will enjoy the charming seaside village. The SKFA apologizes for any issues caused in terms of ticketing. Here is the full schedule for World Cup 85's Qualifiers.

Overview
The golden generations of Audioslavian football were cycles 59 to 65, during which time the national side won a Baptism of Fire, three AOCAF Cups and two NS World Cups. The national team won nothing of import before and has won nothing since, despite competing in international football between cycles 4 and 29, 59 and 78 and since World Cup 80.

Historically, the national side has a history of doing reasonably well in tournaments. In recent years, this has slipped to simply ‘sometimes doing ok’.

Manager
Long-time national team manager Wilf Lidgley stepped down gracefully after World Cup 84, and the FFA decided to appoint former Itzalovalle and Bombarralense manager Sean Patterick as interim boss. A disastrous end to their AOCAF Cup campaign was expected to herald the end of Patterick’s tenure, but with news that Audioslavia would be playing their AOCAF conquerors Euran Oceania Territories twice in qualifying, Patterick doubled down and demanded to keep the job. The FFA, determined to have an Audioslavian in the job and with no other real alternatives, relented.

For Sean Patterick, a comfortable qualification is the only option. Even the slightest of wobbles may see him unseated.

It’s perhaps with this in mind that Patterick has opted for possibly the most defensive formation in national team history.

Style
Patterick calls his 5-5-0 formation hypermodern. The press have had other words for it. Cowardly. Bizarre. Garbage.

Patterick is banking on two things here. Firstly, the solidity and versatility of the side’s defence. Full-backs Castaldo, Puskás and Osorio are noted for their love of getting forward, centre-halves Rastelli and Ceron known for their ease on the ball. Four of the five defenders will be encouraged to venture forward on occasion, hopefully leaving at least two of them back.

Secondly, what Patterick needs is for Knudsen, Marañón, Deschapelles and Moxey to be as good as people say they are. The tall, rangy Moxey has been a revelation for Itzalovalle this season, and is a different type of box-to-box midfielder than Deschapelles, who’s slower but more measured, and often seems to be barely out of breath come the end of the game. Cacho, very much the water-carrier, will fill any gaps left.

Knudsen and Marañon are natural wingers who have moved inside as playmakers or false nines for their clubs, and both will be more or less appropriating that position for their country, albeit without anyone ahead of them.

Between the ‘front’ four and the marauding defenders, Audioslavia will be able to get men forward, albeit without having anyone in the middle up top. The entire team will have to be very fit to keep this going. Concentration cannot lapse for even a second.

Audioslavia’s brand of football is called Kontrapuntzeka, a dialectal word for counter-attack. Even against supposedly weaker sides, the side play cautiously. When in possession, they try to drag the opposition out of position and take advantage of the gaps. When not in possession, the defence are solid and the attack-minded players are bracing themselves for a quick spring up the field should Audioslavia regain the ball.

When behind, Patterick has the option to throw on a striker, probably removing Iago Cacho. There are three proper strikers on the bench. Santiago Rosel is the narrow first choice ahead of KT Itzalovalle striker Gabriel Zozaia, currently on loan at Euran second-tier side Whitepill, for whom Zozaia is growing into quite the player, albeit with only second tier defences to play against.

Home Stadium
Arena Kirola (also known as the 66 Stadium)
Capacity: 78,200
Cathair, Audioslavia
Built in time for World Cup 66, the Arena Kirola has been the home of Audioslavia's national football team for as long as most living Audioslavians can remember. There has been very little call for the national team to change grounds in the intervening years. A long, narrow pitch is perfectly suited to the counter-attacking football prefered by the national team, and tenants 1830 Cathair have adopted their own way of utilising the pitch's peculiar (but perfectly legal, we may add) dimensions.

The high, bright white walls that surround the pitch are iconic. Once upon a time electronic advertising boards were mounted on the walls, but that practice has been replaced by the simple act of selling an entire side of the stadium to one bidder each, who then creates a mural advertising their product. Sometimes this works, like when energy drink company Saltire created a series of artworks based on Audioslavia's two World Cup triumphs to adorn the wall opposite the hard camera before an international against Nephara. Sometimes it doesn't work so well. Take, for example, the thousand-burger-wrapper collage made by fast food chain 'O'Diamhnaghs' over the first half of 1830 Cathair's most recent season. For a UICA Champions' Cup Final, the FFA would give the most prominent wall over to TaqilQuip for whatever purpose they require, despite protestations from a Kirola company that was already miffed that their name was removed for the two previous finals held at the national stadium.

The 66 Stadium contains an array of amenities, from top quality restaurants to saunas, shops and supermarkets, to appease those sponsors that might only be traveling to the greatest club match in club football in order to network with their business buddies.

The stadium is getting on a bit, and as such the capacity has been lowered after renovations which converted the uppermost section of the top tier into higher-priced boxed seating.

The Patriots are rebuilding cautiously from the wreckage of the Golden Age, and so far Brelk-Xeral has kept the Patriots relevant as their last three tournaments have all ended in very Equestrian Ro16 finishes. Expectations remain guarded, but after some of the new blood managed to swim rather than sink in the deep end last year, things seem like they might end okay, actually. They are a polished side that will be dangerous for anyone on their day, and after a smooth and confident qualifying campaign they anticipate little trouble at least getting out of the group.

First Team and Tactics

Pace, pace and pace. Brelk-Xeral's mantra isn't hard to understand. They have their side set up to overwhelm opponents with a high press, crowding them with bodies and it's impressive how well-drilled they are considering the limited amount of time international teams get on the training ground. It might be overly simplistic to say they just harry opponents into mistakes and capitalise, but... God, they are good at that. Wheeler, their lethal wingers and the overlapping runs from the fullbacks are relied upon to break down parked buses, as well as the bulk of their centre-halves from set pieces.

Staff
Manager - Brelk-Xeral Erv (QUS) - Age 48
Asst. Manager - Jess Curtin - Age 45

Brelk-Xeral is a visionary. The canny Qusmo is a strong tactician with a forthrightness that gets things done, and their appreciation for open, attacking football meshes nicely with the Southern school of Brenecian football. They favour a solid, trusted core of talent, like Jim Reid - unlike Jim Reid, they are ruthless when it comes to removing players who can no longer pull their weight. The astute former international midfielder Jess Curtin offers the local touch as assistant, having survived the change in regime.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Cass Farrell (Image Northern Union) - Age 29 - 34 caps, 8 clean sheets
Raw-boned and confident, perhaps to a fault; Farrell worked hard on the training pitch to beat the errors out of her game, and it seems to have paid off. She's an excellent keeper in the Mathis Woodgate mould. Not really a sweeper, not great with the ball at her feet, accurate long distribution, and a near-unparalleled shot-stopper.

12 - GK - Opal Cairncross (Image Marketville) - Age 28 - 5 caps
A hard worker with high ambitions, Cairncross overcame the fatal flaw of not being especially tall or broad to succeed as a goalkeeper in Eura when she hadn't in Brenecia. Faintly bizarre, but she's a skilled and hardened shot-stopper with her sights set high.

20 - GK - Scathach Wright (Image Raynor City United) - Age 24 - 13 caps, 3 clean sheets
An energetic and zealous sweeper, an acrobatic shot-stopper, an inspired distributor - Wright does a lot, and occasionally will make an error, but that's worth it. She is set for the very, very top.

Defenders
2 - RB - Caithe Shepherd (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 23 - 4 caps
A pacy and diligent fullback, Shepherd always seems to be in the thick of the action. She still sporadically makes errors, leaves space, and lunges a little too eagerly into homicidal challenges. But just as one begins to despair, she saves the day at either end.

3 - LB - Morwen Prentice (Image Farrenton Athletic) - Age 27 - 53 caps, 1 goal
A lean, elegant fullback, comfortable with the ball at her feet. It takes a special kind of career to make 40 caps before you even become a recognised first-choice. For a long time, she has just been waiting for that extra step in her career; at Farrenton, she's reached it. After nailing down consistent starts, she's officially asked for - and received - the number 3 shirt to really stamp down her place.

5 - CB - Garrett Horgan (Image Northern Union) - Age 31 - 47 caps, 8 goals
A brawny enforcer who doesn't mind putting a bit of stick about. Horgan was one of Union's youth products at the time of their fall from grace; he had to put up with being shopped around on loan until his hometown club got back to the second tier, and ever since his return, he's helped them from that ignominy to a Champions Cup final. But he's the same bouncer as ever.

6 - CB - Keane Mathers (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 28 - 48 caps, 3 goals
Mathers is a shaved bear. That's pretty useful in a centre-half. He's clean on the ball, even relatively clean off it, knowing how to stay on the right side of the referee as he gently but firmly escorts his charges off to the edges. Unbeatable in the air, and even relatively not slow despite his bulk.

18 - RB - Sorcha Lonergan (Image Northern Union) - Age 25 - 24 caps, 1 goal
Lightning-quick, Lonergan's attacking play could use work but she's already a resolute defender with an excellent mentality and a hunger to learn. She's tireless and energetic, and her concentration never slips.

19 - LB - Deimne Watermark (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 23 - 6 caps
Watermark is a sharp young defender, but his main claim to fame is once throwing up hungover during an A-League match the Stallions lost 8-0 as they claimed the title regardless. Combines the expected pace with considerable brawn.

22 - CB - Finn Leadbetter (Image Holdenberg) - Age 23 - 11 caps, 1 goal
A colossal defender who loves to put a bit of stick about. The art of defending and the joy of defending remain alive whenever Leadbetter is on the pitch. His destiny is to rise high, and the past couple of years have seen him blossom.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Finn Townsend (Image North Hall) - Age 26 - 18 caps
A pure destroyer, with youth and verve to burn. Is a game really complete without a caution? Oh, Townsend is nothing but dirt - and the occasional rocket at goal. There's definitely scope to develop further, but he can do a very straightforward job as things stand.

8 - CM - Elysse Matheson (Image Hornchurch, c) - Age 27 - 68 caps, 18 goals
A pacy, frictionless midfielder, Matheson passed up the chance to develop at high-flying Rozelle to slum it at Hornchurch, doing the hard yards in Eura. It's already brought out a new dimension in her. She's not a passing playmaker, but a driving force from midfield, eager to make a mark on the edges of the box.

13 - CM - Isla Ridenton (Image Jaglan Royals) - Age 26 - 5 caps, 2 goals
Tall and dignified, Ridenton's pace is adequate for her job, but her main asset is to be trusted in possession. She caresses the ball like a friend-with-benefits, and her passing range extends as far as her vision. But she's not averse to getting back to basics, either.

14 - CM - Esther Caitiff (Image Southern Star) - Age 22 - 7 caps, 1 goal
Expert at deft touches and ankle-taps, Caitiff combines a street-fighter's eye for sizing up an opponent with a devil-may-care attitude and the skill to live up to it. Somehow, Caitiff always finds herself embedded deep in the fray.

21 - CM - Riona Parker (Image Galatica) - Age 27 - 25 caps, 4 goals
A lithe, diligent playmaker, Parker has a street footballer's talent for a clever first touch, an egotist's penchant for long shots and her own penchant for cheating. If anyone on the team is going to totally feign contact and dive, it's her. By all accounts, a far nicer person off the pitch than on it.

23 - DM - Ronan Fallon (Image Newrook City) - Age 27 - 19 caps
Fallon loves to defend, and properly get stuck into opponents. There is nothing subtle about his style, and he'll never go missing on the pitch. Well, unless he's sent off, of which there is a non-zero risk. He knows his ability on the ball is limited and doesn't try to overstretch it.

Forwards
7 - RW -Lauren Cheney (Image Spartangrad) - Age 26 - 66 caps, 21 goals
A street footballer at her heart, Cheney has a very un-Brenecian ego problem, and expresses it in very Brenecian passive-aggression and a need to work harder and better than anyone and everyone around her. Fast, tough, and with an eye for goal. She has genuinely blossomed into the side's talisman.

9 - ST - Niall Bremner (Image Unioneers) - Age 29 - 34 caps, 15 goals
Tall, strong, fast and ruthless, preferring to lamp the ball powerfully into the net at any opportunity. Bremner's international career is seemingly indestructible, even though he's never really marked down a regular place.

10 - ST - Kara Ciogach (Image Lajuno) - Age 28 - 58 caps, 32 goals
The shining new hope of Brenecia's strikers, Ciogach is, typically, Schottic. She even won a couple of caps for them. Nevertheless, here she is. She's ambitious, strong despite a lithe physique, fast as hell, and able to finish with either foot or the head. Has abruptly found herself in a fight for her place.

11 - LW - Tricia Pace (Image Northern Union) - Age 23 - 4 caps, 2 goals
It's all in the name, hon. But Pace forced her way into a typically star-studded Union by doing more than just running really fast. She runs direct down the throat, eager to take on opponents and make a decisive impact. Two-footed and eager to cut inside and shoot.

15 - RW - Nuada Speaker (Image North Hall) - Age 23 - 4 caps, 2 goals
Straightforward and orthodox. Speaker is sometimes unfairly maligned as being a pale shadow of Cheney. Well, she is a pale shadow of Cheney. But she can be relied upon to run her heart out for the team, to give her all, and to give it at breakneck speed.

16 - LW - Ceridwen Fletcher (Image Holdenberg) - Age 24 - 41 caps, 9 goals
It's hard not to couch Fletcher as Cheney's opposite; a tall, elegant Northerner, less versatile or direct but with a peach of a left boot that can be rapier or sledgehammer, depending on what's required. Her potential is immense, and there's every sign she'll fulfil it.

17 - ST - Creidne Lindauer (Image Cazadores Cathair) - Age 27 - 23 caps, 11 goals
Lindauer isn't versatile. She's very quick, very clever, and she's a very good finisher. Nevertheless she has done enough with these few, crucial gifts to staple down a place for herself at a high pinnacle of the club game, and now has seemingly won a role as the preferred spearhead against the strongest opponents.

The Roster
When RP'ing, the name of my players in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD are the player's family names. These are the names on their jersey and the name professional commentators would call out when making observations. Also, do not write the names in all capital letters, as this is somewhat annoying when reading; I just imagine someone reading calmly along then suddenly SHOUTING the player's name. For example, if writing about FENG Shaoli making a long shot, one would write "Feng made a long shot..." as opposed to "FENG made a long shot..." If you have any further questions regarding names, please feel free to telegram me.

Players age ONE YEAR in-between cups.

Starting players will have their names in GREEN type
Alternate players will have their names in BLUE type
Reserve Players will have their names in STANDARD type.
Travelling Players will be in tables.

1- Aki KIO’LOS
Height: 192cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 37 years old - Team: FC Mando
After two tournaments, including a World Cup, Aki Kio'los has begun to cement his name into the starting goalkeeper. With his explosive energy and an unmatched focus, Kio’los is known for making saves most keepers would let slip through. Reminiscent of a younger Chu Takumi – who had 72 caps for the Bisons between World Cup 57 and 65 – Kio’los is hoping that, even at an age most players begin to think of retirement, he can still bring pride to his nation.

With his final season under contract with FC Mando underway, many have been pushing for Kio'los to retire. A warrior is never one to backdown, and many times athletes are a bit out of touch with their skills s time wages on... Expect to see Zhao Baoli in net a bit more frequently this tournament.

22- ZHAO Baoli
Height: 187cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Enceri FC

Most often than not, a backup goalie is viewed as “damage control” for the starter; only called in when the starter has let in a few too many goals that shouldn’t have gone in, or is just not getting into the grove of the game quick enough for the coaches liking. With Zhao Baoli, that is not the case. Head Coach Tay’haai is not certain how either Kio’los or Zhao will do when facing their first multiverse opponents, and has opted for choosing two top caliber keepers to make his one-two combo.

What are the differences between Kio’los and Zhao? Despite their age – Zhao was only six years old the last time the Bisons played in the World Cup – there is hardly any difference between the two men. Similar style, similar background, even similar appearance; both your stereotypical Shoushan men who use their impressive physical forms to dominate in their chosen field. One key difference, however, lies in Zhao’s tendency to play medium-range passes incredibly accurately versus Kio’los’ short-range kicks; this accuracy at medium range helps to facilitate the progression of his team’s build-up into the next phase of play.

Given that the Bisons are currently 11-9-19 in Multi-Verse play following their return after The Silence, many are calling for Zhao to take over as starting keeper. However, Head Coach Tay’haai has made it known that come Matchday 01, Zhao will be on the sidelines. Though, given the rust that is already showing on Kio’los after three failed tournament campaigns, Zhao may not be warming the bench for long.

33- ARMOK Hikari
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Southern AFC

Armok Hikari rounds out the Goalkeeper Corps, bringing a slightly different style to the Bisons. Fresh from his second season with Southern AFC, Armok has developed rather nicely when compared to his style back at his alma mater, University of Omashu. However, that development at home has not found its way to the pitch, as he has yet to get a single cap.

Unlike Kio’los and Zhao, Armok tends to favor the long-range kicks out to midpitch so as to clear as much action from the back end as possible. Also, Armok is a much more traditional goalkeeper when compared to the very ball-heavy play styles of the first two men in the corps; he firmly believes that his primary goal is to stop balls from getting to the net, and by clearing out the attacking zone quickly, it gives him a chance to set the team up more defensively as he does tend to hand over possession often, but that allows him to focus on the main job of stopping balls and not worrying about diving out of the box and going for more ‘flashy’ plays.

At just a year younger than Zhao, Armok is comparable in experience on a professional level, however, he has yet to appear in any multi-verse campaigns. When pressed about this issue, Goalkeeper Coach Kita Bai’a had very little to say; that all calls rested with Coach Tay’haai, and in his own opinion, he agreed with Armok not being ready for the multi-verse stage.

PAO Lishin 22 Heibai University Earth
HAMADA Roshi 19 Royal Fire State University Fire
LEE Fendao 17 Academy of South Kibago Mandalore

As had been done under Vhett, Head Coach Tay’haai has instituted a Travelling Corps so as to bring young and upcoming players along with the Bisons to show them what Multiverse Play is all about. Pao and Hamada are both collegiate level players, who will likely be vying for a third spot in the Goalkeeper Corps as Kio’los is certainly not getting any younger. Lee is a much younger player, brought in from a developmental academy in KIbago Province, who is somewhat of a star in the Avatarian Soccer circle; having not let in a single goal in three seasons and representing his Academy at the national level.

Left Defenders:
2- Auranaq ITAWAKU
Height: 196cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 37 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC
A beast of a man, Aruanq Itawaku has the distinction of being only one of two players on the Bisons who has ever travelled to a World Cup; both Aki Kio’los and Itawaku travelled with the Bisons back in World Cup 68.

In his time since that travelling appearance, Itawaku has managed to pack the form of a gridiron player into the body of a footballer; able to give strong tackles and bulldoze his way through an opponent, Itawaku is just as comfortable dancing around the pitch and keep the ball away from any keen and overzealous opponents. His aggressive style of play, combined with his sheer size, has earned him the loving nickname of “The Beast of the North”. Even as he takes the title of oldest player on the Bisons from Kio’los by a few months, Itawaku shows no sign of slowing down as his 40s look over the horizon.

12- PAM Kai
Height: 183cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Senlin Timbers

The backup to the Beast of the North, Pam Kai is a bit smaller and significantly younger. Though, that doesn’t stop the younger Water Tribesman from doing his best to keep up with Itawaku in the weight room and out on the pitch. Pam carries with him youthful vigor and determination, although he forewent another year at Northern University to pursue his professional career; which, judging by a rather subpar performance in Senlin, has many analysts feeling that he may have made the jump to the pros a bit to soon.

16- TERCAR Shuajo
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: Northern University

At 22 years of age, Tercar Shuajo plays a very similar style to Auranaq, which means substitutions into the team can be done effortlessly. A very quick and agile defender, Tercar has yet to make his way onto the pitch through three campaigns, though he is still prepared should the need arise. Given he is nearly 10kg lighter than both Pam and Itawaku, Tercar has to use his feet and agility to outmaneuver most other players instead of relying on sheer mass to take away a ball.

Central Defenders
5- HASHIMOTO Isamiru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 29 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED

One of the most highly-rated player for the Bison defence, Hashimoto Isamiru, or “Hashi” as he is loving called by fans, has shown himself to be a very valuable asset to the team. A strong defensive player who often falls in to a full-back position, Hashimoto has made great strides in improving his passing and marking skills since he was traded to Ba Sing Se UNITED from Keldabe FC after a very disappointing season which saw Kelabe not advance to the playoffs for the first time in five years.

15- UTHAN A’den
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 21 years old - Team:Kyoshi State University

As was during the Bisons’ last World Cup run, Number 15 is worn by a man incredibly deceptive in appearance and performance. A large and physically imposing player, Uthan A’den does not play a very physical game like Aurnaq or Hashimoto, but instead proves himself to be one of the fastest players on the team; one who uses that speed to outpace and overtake many of his opponents. Less prove to tackle and trip, and more likely to simply run up from behind and steal the ball mid-dribble, expect to see Uthan engaging opponents closer to the net than you will be comfortable with from previous Bisons campaigns.

15- Ganham Ri’om
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC

Though not as fast as Uthan, Ganham Ri’om is a full-back more focused on the offence, who uses his skill with the ball to often drive the offence from the backfield. Though Ganham can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence (given that he played his entire career at Hatsu State as a offensive midfielder before switching to defence when drafted), he is a very dedicated player and works hard to improve where he knows there are weakness.

Right Defenders:

3- SOMCHAI Kikwan
Height: 187cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: Itakawai City

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Somchai Kikwan does serve as the counterpoint to Uthan’s youthful excitement. Having graduated from Kyoshi State, Somchai is very familiar to the style of play Uthan is used to, and the two of them communicate very well on the side of the field. Very adept at playing the middle of the field, when pushed to the right side, Somchai is quick to adapt and has the endurance and stamina to keep up with the demands.

While he was originally chosen to start the Right Defending position in the Bisons’ return to the Multi-Verse, a nagging lower body injury continues to prevent Somchai from making his national debut. This injury, which stems from a particularly gruesome tackle in the final game of the 2019.2 Ve’vut Cup match with Itakawai City, has cost Somchai quite a few games back home, and with Mi’rez Yman continuing to outshine him, even as he approaches 35, some are beginning to wonder why Tay’haai continues to keep the 31-year-old on the roster...

13- MI’REZ Yman
Height: 177cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 34 years old - Team: Solus FC

A mixture of strength, speed and technicality, Mi’rez Yman is able to often outperform many oppoenets strictly through his quick feet and often amusing antics; known to make oppoenets laugh mid-stride, Mi’rez is not the player the media wants to mic up and have talk to the crowd. Though even with his quirks, Mi’rez is a very valuable players to the defensive corps.

23- HUANG Aodhán
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Makapu ERUPT

Originally signed into the Taap-B team Kaolin FC right out of college, Huang Aodhán was quick to mature and found his way onto the Makapu ERUPT. A quick study, he adapted well to his new team and soon made it to their starting eleven. Huang is a natural athlete, with impressive speed and stamina to match, though at such a young age compared to his linemates, he has much to learn before he finds himself a staple on the front lines of Avatarian Football; though he did find himself a late game substitution for Mi’rez in the AOCAF LX matchup against Delaclava.

Travelling With the Team

Position	Name Age School Nation |
RD KATO Zhao Ling 20 Enceri State University Mandalorian
RD YAMADA Goro 19 Republic City State University Fire
LD Khánh KA’LOMI 18 Univ. of the Southern Tribes Water
LD Tarou ADEEN 20 Omashu State University Mandalorian
CD ZHOU Hiroto 19 Kibago University Earth

The Travelling Corps for Defense is a mixed group of under-21s who are all potential future Bisons. Kato, from Enceri, is coming off a All-Star season in the Southern Islands Conference, having been credited with the most goals by any defenseman in season. Yamada and Ka’lomi are most first-time A-squad for their respective schools, and seem to play complementary styles, so it wouldn’t be unlikely to see them as a future starting pair. Adeen, though coming back from a lower body strain he acquired before his selection was announced, is the opposite of Ka’lomi; more defense driven and much more adept at wide pitch running and helping drive offense. Zhou, fresh from a rather disappointing season at KU, still managed to shine as he was selected in the Coaches Poll as the third best centreback in the ACSA having 32 Assists in 24 games

Defensive Midfielders:

7- TAKAHASHI Hikaru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 33 years old - Team: Northern AFC

A strong defensive midfielder. Takahashi Hikaru’s strength lies in his kicks; easily able to send a ball soaring across the pitch with surprising accuracy, Takahashi is known for feeding the ball to the strikers and catching many opposing defences off-guard. He often has great vision, and he is easily able to read the play and can adapt accordingly.

6- MA Haijiang
Height: 187cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 30 years old - Team: Northern AFC

Head Coach Tay’haai made the unusual selection of having both of his defensive midfielders come from the same team, for reasons most can ascertain. A proven veteran on the pitch, Ma Haijiang complements Takahashi’s strong kicks and accuracy with the speed to overcome most opponents; if he can not strike a ball deep, Takahashi will often send a volley up to Ma who will then run it into the offensive zone before lasering the ball to an open forward. Expect to see either Ma or Takahashi in the assist column for plenty of goals.

17- YOSHIDA Arata
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Royal Flames

Yoshida Arata is a dedicated player who has worked incredibly hard to make his way to the national team; having spent several months training with one of the greatest Avatarian midfielders to ever play the game, Bralor Kotyc’e. Time spent with Bralor has proven to greatly improve his game, seeing Yoshida climb up the ranks during the Trials for the national team.

Though, Yoshida is not a player you will often notice. He is not one for showboating, and very rarely makes a goal or garnishes an assist. Instead, he focuses his time on the pitch by setting up the offense for a great pass, a decisive tackle that often swings the game’s momentum, or just being able to intercept the ball at the most opportune time. One of the best midfielders in the Southern Conference of the RPFL, Yoshida is sure to see time on the pitch by relieving Takahashi or Ma in the later games of the competition.

Neutral Midfielders:

18- HISAKAWA Si Woo
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 30 years old - Team: **UNSIGNED**

An extremely technical midfielder, Hisakawa Si Woo is not one to shy away from trying for goals. More aept at reading the play and setting up his forwards, Hisakawa is a bit more impatient than one would like, and he posseses the speed and agility to run through a good defence and find the back of the net on occasion. He is also the only player on the Bisons who is currently unsigned; his contract with the Taap-A team Omashu Athletic ended after AOCAF LX, and with nothing really to showcase his worth, Omashu Athletic chose to not sign Hisakawa; a fact that has certainly hurt his morale coming into this tournament.

Attacking Midfielders:

8- YU Shichiro
Height: 183cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Keldabe FC

With a very offensive-minded footballing style, Yu Shichiro works as the last link between the midfield and the offence. Much like Hisakawa, Yu has been known to even advance from the midfield to score quite a few key goals in pivotal games, including the 2019.2 Ve’vut Cup winning goal against Concord Dusk AFC. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Yu still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.

Rating: A- – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A

11- GUANYU Jun
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: Omashu Athletic (Taap-A)
A very creative midfielder, Guanyu Jun is very capable of making plays on the fly; with great vision and quick feet, he often can set up his forwards for a great goal or keep the ball moving through the middle. Though having graduated from Heibai University right after AOCAF, Guanyu, who managed to only appear in a single game during AOCAF, went into the last World Cup still holding out for a MultiVerse contract. However, after scoring three goals in ten caps during WC 84, Omashu Athletic came knocking...and they made an offer Guanyu just could not refuse. Though, thanks to the work of his agent, in is Omashu contract there is a specific clause should he want to leave for a multiverse team... probably quite the buyout...

14 – Fei’kao SONG
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: FC Mando

Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Fei’kao Song chose to forgo his collegiate career, getting drafted by FC Mando the day before his twentieth birthday. Despite all the fanfare of his first season behind him, Song has not had a promising start to his sophomore season. Given his still-developing skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparatively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. Song, much like Hisakawa, is a technical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every opportunity. While more prone to provide assists on plays as opposed to goals, Song has proven himself through Trials to Tay’haai and earned a spot on the National Team, albeit a reserve position.

Travelling With the Team

Position	Name Age School Nation
DM INOUE Anernerk 22 Uni. of the Northern Tribes Water
DM Kal ITOWA 22 Uni. of the Southern Tribes Water
NM Penlu SAITO 19 Chomain State Academy Fire
OM SHAO Mi’ka 21 Univeristy of Kibago Water
OM DIK Up’lis 20 Omashu State University Earth

Mostly comprised of Water Tribesmen, the Midfield Travelling Corps is a grabbag of talent. From the University of the Northern Tribes come home-grown Inoue Anernerk, who at just like his father, the famed Inoue Kuruk, completed back-to-back double-digit scoring seasons in his last two seasons of college; impressive for a man who is supposed to be on the defensive midfield. From UST, Kal Itowa mirrors the success of Inoue, though a career less filled with goals and more with assists. Penlu Saito, a young player from the developmental Chomain State Academy, hopes to see a professional contract within the year, and with such a great season in the ADFL, you can be sure he will at least entertain some good offers. Out of the University of Kibago, Shao Mi’ka is a relatively quiet player who has had offers from both Gaoling Union and Senlin Timbers. Dik Up’lis rounds out the Travelling Corps, bringing from Omashu State a drive for excellence many teams would love to have, even if it comes with a bit more maturing to be fostered.

9 - Dag’da SKIRATA
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: University of Adirolf

From the fabled and illustrious Skirata family, Dag’da Skirata continues to show why the Skirata’s are the most famous Avatarian family in sports; from his grandfather Kad coaching the Men’s National Ice Hockey Team to his father A’den’s 59 goals in 190 caps for the Bisons, Dag’da has some massive shoes to fill. Though his youthful energy often times shows itself in classic mistakes, Skirata is able to power his way through many the defender and be it by foot or by head, he finds the net more often than not. In his first season with the Adirolf Gators, A’den went for 19 goals in 10 caps, including the last game before AOCAF where he received his first hattrick in a stellar 4-0 victory of their rivals from Adirolf State. In World Cup 84, Skirata made the push for victory in the final match against Libonesia, scoring both of the Bisons' goals.

10 - SONG Kaoru
[i]Height:
178cm - Weight: 74kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: FC Mando

Much like Skirata, Song Kaoru comes from a sports-centric family; with his father a coach in the RPFL, his mother a third-line winger for the Ice Bisons and his younger brother the star goalkeeper for Itakawai City, fans and critics have come to expect nothing but greatness from Song. They have certainly not been disappointed in domestic play, with Song showing a near-effortless game on the pitch. Dodging defenders as if they were standing still, sniping balls past nets which might as well have been empty, Song has quickly become the media’s favorite player... especially with how he loves to be interviewed.

21- LI Yuuta
Height: 185cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: Island FC

Older than both of the starting forwards, Li Yuuta also fins himself the oldest member of the Forward Corps. Playing the last three seasons in Island FC, Li has continued to develop as a well-rounded secondary striker; able to shield the ball from the other team and hold them off long enough for either of the Bisons’ primary stikers to get into position for a great shot. Li is very adept at striking himself, having led Island FC in Goals Scored last season.

19 - KIM Vinh Lành
Height: 185cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Island FC

A seasoned pivot man through five seasons at Island FC, Kim Vinh Lành is known for his ability to read the pitch and place himself ahead of a ball to bring in an attempt --- even if the pass is terrible --- through his excellent ball-handling skills. Albeit not the most conditioned player, with stamina that often finds him at the back of the pack during running exercises, Kim makes up for his endurance with incredibly fast bursts to the goal.

Head Coach: Kad’e TAY’HAAI
Height: 182cm – Weight: 76kg – Age 57 years old – Team: University of Adirolf, Head Coach

With 253 caps in Multiverse Play, and originally having been dubbed “The Next One” as a player, it only seemed right when Vhett Boba, the esteemed Head Coach of the Natonal Team since World Cup 57, stepped down that Kad’e Tay’haai would step into his boots. After such an illustrious career in football, Tay’haai found himself retiring from the sport in 2016.2 and moving on to become an assistant coach for the University of Adirolf for three cycles, before stepping into the role of Head Coach in 2018.3. While Adirolf has not quite enjoyed great success through the ACSA, it has begun to turn itself around; after boasting their first losing record in 32 years, the Adirolf Gators came out of 2019.2 with a 17-7-0 record and a second place finish in the National Championships.

Assistant Coach: WONG Haru
Height: 185cm – Weight: 88kg – Age 46 years old – Team: FC Itakawai, Assistant General Manager

Once a star defender for the Bisons, following his retirement from national and multiverse play, Wong Haru made a name for himself with a brief stint in coaching professionally; first as a Defensive Coach for Solus FC for two years and then FC She Pass for another four. However, when Wakahisa Hikaru – whose infamous knee injury in the championship game for the Republic Chalice brought the nation to tears and ended his professional career – called Wong to bring onboard FC Itakawai when they shifted ownership, it was a call he could not pass up. Being the head coach of one of the RPFL’s best teams for nearly 8 years truly honed his knowledge of the game as well as his abilities to analyze and coach players to greatness. Of course, it was an easy decision for Tay’haai to bring an old teammate on-board to be his assistant coach, who then filled out his coaching staff wth even more veterans of the Bisons...

Head Medical Officer: Doctor WEN Wuchin
Height: 180cm – Weight: 78kg – Age 87 years old
A medical doctor whose primary training was as a GAR Field Medic, Wen is the best choice possible in a world where doctors prefer to stay in privately-owned hospitals rather than rural rigshacks. Wen served for ten years in the GAR before he would honourably discharged to serve as Chief Resident at the prestigious Ba Sing Se Inner Ring Medical Centre, where he would remain for six years before being given a more suitable job as Chief of Medical Training at the Republic Military Academy; a position he has held for near 30 years.

However, as with all good things, age is eventually a cruel mistress. Wen has seen younger days, and with the conclusion of this World Cup, he will be retiring. The last member of the “Old Guard”, when Wen departs, one of the last vestiges of Vhett Boba will be gone. No successor has been named, though it will likely be the young Fong Jintao – at just 31-years-of-age – that will step in and replace the “Ol’Doc”.

Security Chief: Captain AKAAN (RC-4648)
Height: 183cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 44 years old CHRONOLOGICAL (47 years old BIOLOGICAL)
A clone officer within the Grand Army of the Republic, RC-4868 was appointed Chief of Security for the National Team in 2011.1. Each time the team travels abroad --- so long as he is not engaged in a mission --- RC-4868 is pulled from service and placed into the spotlight of security. He is battle-hardened, having been raised since birth for war and combat, and as such often views these assignments with true boredom. The seven men he brings with him on assignment share the same sentiments of the ‘mission’, however, their ‘unwaivering loyalty’ to the Republic prevents any negative speak during the assignment. Each is a member of the Avatarian Guard, whose sole responsibility is to defend the Avatar at both home and abroad; this protection then extends to all sports teams travelling beyond the borders of the Five Nations.

President of the ALAF: HIS RIGHT HONOURABLE VHETTBoba
Age: 71 – Time in the job: 6 Years

Once the longest serving Head Coach in Avatarian History – with a record spanning 261 games, ten World Cups and multiple other multiverse competitions – it was only right for Vhett to step into the role of President of the Avatarian Leagues of Association Football. Having brought a team from nothing to the quarterfinals in 8 World Cups is not something to look away from, and although his career was tarnished slightly by the final performances of the Bisons – going 5-7-1 in his last World Cup – Vhett is confident that soon glory will be returned to the Avatarian Republics, although initial performances in all four tournaments to date have been far from promising.

Electrum National Football Team
presented by Electrum Football

General Information
The sentient creatures from the country of Electrum previously took part in a sporting endeavour called football, where the objective is to use feet (the bottom two limbs, no other limbs may be used by the players, except for a position called the goalkeeper who can use their entire body) to move the ball into the opposing team's netted zone, scoring one goal. The most goals wins the match. The creatures last participated in this form of competition in a tournament called "World Cup 80," before the catastrophe that required The Computator's intervention. The sentient creatures are highly susceptible to tribalism, and participation would boost morale amongst the creatures. The creatures have won one iteration of this tournament - "World Cup 78." We have procured (imported) overseas creatures from Electrum who were not in the country during the incident, who do not suffer from the effects of the time warp, to lead the tribe. We have also proceeded to appoint the chief strategist and managerial staff without a procurement process in order to maintain continuity and preserve experience. Finally, we have embedded some of our own, from other worlds, to assist the fledgling team. They are not expected to make great success.

Statistical Information

Combined Record: 128-43-79
Current Rankings: Unranked
Best World Cup record: Champion (WC78)

Coaching Staff
Manager: Lboaisa Akarelm
Assistant Manager: Jemima Bryant
Development Manage: Risa Shigaraki

We have continued to procure the services of strategist and also sentient creature Lboaisa Akarelm. Akarelm is a former native of the nation of Vilita, and who is noted for their remarkable unremarkableness. Akarelm was chosen for a one cycle contract, but the contract was not fulfilled properly by the predecessor team. Given The Computator respects the rule of law, we have decided to not execute the termination clause of the contract due to their inability to manage the tribe during World Cup 80. We will now give them another one cycle contract opportunity to prove their worth. Jemima Bryant is noted for her use of technology in decision making and could prove useful in other capacities for The Computator.

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 85 SQUAD

While the nation took a long break from WCs 8 through 24, the Holy Empire is proud to be the only active nation to have participated in WC 1.

Though it pretends not to be, the nation is equally proud to have won 4 World Cup titles

Press Release:

For Immediate Distribution

The Holy Empire Football Association today announced that it would spend World Cup 85 campaigning for the banning of Cocoa-bo as an addictive and performance-enhancing substance.

The campaign will be led by the Holy Empire's World Cup 84 captain Sir Barsanuphius.

"Cocoa-bo is a dangerous substance" said the God-fearing footballing cataphract knight. "In addition to being the only possible explanation for Vilita's recent World Cup success, its addictive properties have wreaked havoc with the lives of cute little murderous bunny rabbits, and have caused the most chaste of my knights to spank groups of nubile teenage girls.

It has been plain for some time that the Vilitan drug distribution networks have taken insidious control of Vilitan media, sporting, and governmental institutions, with other nations and teams often ranked by the extent to which Cocoa-bo consumption has taken root in other countries. We assume that the version of the drug distributed internationally lacks the performance-enhancing properties of the version consumed by Vilita's national football team, but ask that the World Cup Committee launch an immediate investigation of the chemical content of Cocoa-bo both within and without Vilita.

This is my new crusade. I shall not rest through World Cup 85 until my prejudices are confirmed, regardless of the actual evidence, and this dangerous substance is banned across the multiverse"

The Holy Empire Football Association is actively looking for a name for this campaign, preferably one with an easy to pronounce acronym, and welcomes suggestions sent by the mundy method of 'telegramme'.

Other national football associations are also welcome to join the campaign. Again, telegramme is the best method of signalling an intent to participate.

OOC: Cocoa-bo is, of course, a product more closely associated with the Island Emirate of Turori rather than the Tropics of Vilita; Sir Barsanaphius isn't very clear on the distinction, which will feature in RP.

The issue of why it's only performance-enhancing for Vilitans will also be addressed.

Whether you take Sir Barsanuphius seriously, or write him off as a deluded conspiracy theorist and sore loser is entirely up to you.

All Holy Empire players are normal footballers, except for team captain Sir Barsanuphius, who'll take the field wearing medieval Byzantine cataphract armour

Style Modifiers / formation

Frosty football is attacking football. The Holy Empire always plays a 3-5-2 formation using overlapping wingers that turns into 3-3-4 on the counterattack.

[OOC'ly, for the purposes of scorination, the team uses the maximum attacking style modifier permitted by each cup's hosts.]

Kit
The team will wear famous Imperial Gold and Red, as worn by the Holy Empire since WC1...

(home top, away bottom)
Image
Image

OOC'ly, the kits were designed by Red Blackiland, and the crest by Audioslavia - and I'm entirely grateful; I'm very happy for RB and Audio to take OOC credit. IC'ly, HEFA deny the Mundies had anything to do with it.

Except, as noted, for Sir Barsanuphius, who'll wear his cataphract armour:

Image

Stadium
The Holy Empire plays its home matches in the bejewelled, platinum-domed, and purple stone-walled Imperial Hippodrome, the oldest World Cup venue still in use, and one of the most famous - and impressive - stadiums in the multiverse.

RP instructions:
Have fun and use your imagination - but don't kill anyone, and don't try and launch attacks on the Dreamed Realm; largely because you can't.

Some basic Dreamed Realm RP rules:
Remember that the Dreamed Realm lies entirely outside of Ordinary Reality, and is utterly impervious to harm from what we charmingly call 'mundies'.

Some points to remember about travel to, and playing in, the Dreamed Realm:

1) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm; reality and time are malleable within the Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Imperial home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated, unless permission is received in advance (please file applications for violent rioting in triplicate). Any such behaviour undertaken without appropriate permission will find those responsible immediately transported back to Ordinary Reality.

2) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Empire, a team of Archregimancy [Eastern Orthodox Christian] monks will arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Empire at your convenience.

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls
Record in WCQ-84: +9=2=9, goals 41:37, 5\11 place in the qualifying group

Football is a prime sport for a country, with a league having ended 128th season right now. National psyche (and forementioned considerations) tell players to put everything even if odds are heavily against, so almost every match played with high determination. Highly laudable was an example of player, who handball on the line kicking ball out of the empty net, when score was 0-3 with one minute to play, receiving a red card and penalty, but also a possibility to not having fourth goal (in the case opponent’s penalty taker missed the net, albeit it is not known are he does this deliberately).

Team has rather checkered history: team won Baptism of Fire tournament and having a very good press due to quality of game, but make rather unconsequental debute in World Cup Qualifying with some very puzzling results. Then Trolleborg missed playoffs in the Cup of Harmony just by razor-thin margin, but after that was badly and completely inexplicably mauled in IAC and proved to be extremely unconvincing in a series of friendly games, which ended with completely insane results. Although a large group of players which was only counted as candidates to the national team were played in these games, and so their performance can be understandably substandard, the results nonetheless look completely devoid of logic. Then Pan-Pacific Cup arrive, and team showed here an exceptionally high-quality game, before the sudden, completely unexpected and traumatic exit in the semifinal from the hands of newbie Anserisa team, which deliver us devastating defeat.

In the WCQ85 we received a ticket to the group number 10, with other twelve teams, some of which already familiar to us. Before we played with Bolgano in CoH, Abanhfleft in WCQ84 and Appalachian Nation in BoF71. Also, our U21 team have encounter with a teams of same age from Siovanija And Teusland and Free Republic and lost both games.

NATIONAL TEAM

COACH

The team is still coached by Morten TROGHIL – 53 уears old triumphator of the BoF.

PLAYERS

Since friendly matches showed that the leaders of the national team did not have any serious reliable backup, it was decided to abandon the rotation of players and the basis of the team consisted of people who had already seen international football with addition of only two players.

Goalkeepers
1. Tomas Kot Kotsson (28). Flexible and agile, quick-thinking, he, alas, don’t make miracles in the international games. But after robust season in the Trolleborg League he continue to be solid number one.
12. Klemens Gould (26). He joined the team during the qualifying tournament and proved to be a reliable goalkeeper, but not much more.
23. Marten Windass (33). Experienced goalkeeper with a lot of talent. In the time, he was like a Kot Kotsson, and albeit now he wasn’t so fresh and fast as in his heyday, but he knows many secrets of goalkeeper trade.

Defenders
2.Nikolaas Laste (29). He was reliable left back, who has a tendency going forward, but in the recent years prefer to concentrate on his defensive duties, which he does very successfully in the local championship, and not so successful in the international games.
3.Kasper Wolters (26). One of the team brightest stars, he is right back by default, but he is very strong, very fast, have a very good shot and even better crossing skill. Having all this, he very often make a lighting runs to the opposition box and sometime substitute right midfielder.
4.Torgeir Dushegub (29). Known as a Column, this tall and strong player usually dominates a box both in the air and at the grass. Being always calm and confidence, he projected aura of them around. Albeit in the local championship he often been seen in the opposition box when corner kick is played, in the international football he don’t make any runs forward.
5. Aien Troger (26). He is fast, strongly build and extremely good in tackling. It’s very challenging to move into the box past him. Maybe he will go into pages of history as one of the most brightest defenders of our championship, but his career having taking hit from his unsuccessful marriage bid for Abanhfleft midfielder (there is more about that). But now he probably overcome his grief and shock – his last league season is brilliant. Pundits declare, that he added many dimensions to his game.
18. Torben Bagger (26). He was distinguished by composure and the right choice of position in the games of domestic championship, and he was called up to the national team due to the breakdown of the two key defence players, proved to be solid choice, but right now not much more.
14. Heiko Aldekamp (26). Useful addition to the team, can play both right and left defender, preferably first one, moving fast and tackling hard.
15. Morten Levenkrans (31). Full left back in the beginning of his career, he than move to the center, having considered almost impassable in both positions. Albeit right now not the fastest man on the field, he is very good man-marker, having excellent header and can be very useful when attacks began. He married recently, and this only enhanced his performance on the field.
23. Morgens Hoyte(25). Recent addition to the squad, robust player with a real big stature due to the height and athletic appearance, he can covered a lot of ground fast and do this consistently. It will be up to the coach where to use him, as defender or defensive midfielder.

Midfielders
6. Rolf Valgren (29). Quick-thinking, with a perfect understanding of game, seeing everyone and everything in the field, and with brilliant passing skills, this man can bring ball everywhere he wants. It is very possible, that he will be one of the greatest midfielders in the history of Trolleborg, have he not lacking some technique and speed.
16. Hendrick Groningen (27). The defensive midfielder, probably the best in his generation, he was not selected to play in BoF and joined team by way, proved himself worthy of a place in the team, caused a lot of problems to the attacking players of the opposing teams.
8. Finn Finnsnes (28). He is only one in the whole selected team ever play abroad. He was one of the creators of the victory in the BoF, and try to make himself useful in the WCQ, but without much success, albeit he receive some positive mentions in foreign press. Beginning his career as a right midfield\right winger, now he play more like attacking midfielder. He is swift, smart, good dribbler and excelled in set-pieces.
9. Morten Troll (25). He is a brightest star amongst midfielders in the whole country. Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player. Highly probably, he will be a player of generation, and very probably, best player Trolleborg ever had. He brilliantly justified all the positive reviews of his game on the BoF, helping a team many times in difficult situations with its smart actions.
7. Ruud Kolding (27). Left midfielder, covering lot of ground with his unbeliveable stamina, can press forwards or go back as team need. Albeit seen as a substitute, he won the hearts of fans and a strong place in the first team with his perfect game in the BoF matches, having retained it after WCQ.
19. Brutil Mogrin (28). Can play either in the center or as a right midfielder, with a nerves of steel and cold mind he will continue be a useful backup for any of the midfielders if need arise.
22. Mortimer Torquelston (25). Another man who managed to get into the team, although experts had questions about his game in friendly matches. Skillful winger, who can play at either right or left flank, very mobile and prove himself as a master in change direction of attacks. His game in the Pan-Pacific Cup was good, and probably he will be seen on field often.

Forwards
10. Stuart Kerr (29). Best sniper of the two of the last three championship, quick, brave, skillful, and having ability shot from everywhere in the box right despite defenders best efforts. Brilliantly confirmed his reputation as a prolific scorer, winning a prize for the topgoalscorer of BoF and add to his tally not a few goals in the other tournaments. But he missed good part of the last Trolleborg championship due to the trauma in the CoH game with Bolgano and its complications, and only at last Pan-Pacific Cup demonstrated something like game we are expected from him. It will be interesting to see him against the same Bolgano in the WCQ.
11. Torfinn Skaloed (27). Intelligent forward as it was, he can move very quickly, constantly ahead of the defenders, successfully escapes from markers, and in case of need he often going back and successfully acquire ball here to begin attacks. In the BoF games, he was, though, play mainly in the role of power forward, not quite familiar to him, and it was not his best games and he is completely out of the game in the WCQ, but returned to the fore in the Pan-Pacific Cup.
17. Tom Gulbranden (28). Build like a very tall stone wall, he easily can tramp defenders if he wish to do so, but his strong leg shot, without any preparation at all, give him other opportunity to have a points of popularity with fans. It is looked impossible, that a man of such a stature can bring himself in the air at all, but nevertheless he is – strongly jumping and struck the ball by the head with deadly precision. This is what he prove in the BoF games four time in nine games, but WCQ campaign was much less successfull for him, IAC games give us even less joy seeing at his actions, and only at Pan-Pacific Cup did he regularly featured in team squad and find a net often.
21. Karsten Severin (24). This fast forward, who can conjured goal from nothing, are quite impressive in the last four seasons, and he has not scored less than 12 goals in any of them, but it is not yet clear how successfully he will compete with already proven players. At the Pan-Pacific Cup he played real good and it will be interesting how things will be looked like in the forward line at the WCQ, if all four candidates up and ready.

Image
Team just before the trip to the first game of WCQ85

It is widely understood that our team will play fast attacking football with a strong teamwork and apply pressing whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

STADIUM

All Trolleborg’s home games, bar anything unusual happened, will be played in the capital, Trolleborg City, on a “1th December” Stadium, which have a capacity of 80000.

Image

This stadium was built by the voluntary labor of ordinary citizens in the honour of the sacred 1th December, Trolleborg Day of Victory. It’s located in the beautiful place – in the middle of a forested area on a peninsula protruding into the sea near the capital. Three stations of subway transport and stops of two bus routes located within two kilometers, and this allow fans arrive and leave stadium quickly and troubleless.

OUR FANS

Fans is a pride of Trolleborg and almost part of the team. Having already earning themselves a name and a good reputation at every place where national team playing last year be it basketball, hockey, rugby or football, they surely will make their presence seen and felt everywhere games will be held, with their usual pastimes like marching with songs, waving flags, try local cuisines, putting cultural performances and trying involve everyone around in all of this. They will give out some Trolleborg memorabilia like a ribbons, buttons, scarves and so on. As already become tradition, we ask host countries to allow a parade of fans with a live music before each game and a places for series of exhibitions devoted to gastronomy, culture and national traditions of our country. Also we ask allocate us some space in the hosting cities to make an exhibition of our cultural heritage and traditions with some traditional sport contests for a local citizens.

The question of transportation to and from country arises, though. Of all those with whom we were drawn in the group, Trolleborg has direct connection with Electrum, with via Mizialand on Air Liberte or our flag international airline “Trolleborg Wings”, and, to some extent, Soracana Islands, located in the region of Melayu Archipelago, since Springmont at the same area has direct flights, again with a choice between local airline and Wings. If you decide take this way, you can also insert into your stories the realities and experiences of Wings or other airlines that you will use.

We also actively encourage everyone to develop direct air connections with our main airport. Moreover for airports, airlines and related businesses, we have planned a lot of quests, promising everyone very fun pastime. And a considerable part of the world knows right now that we in Trolleborg are real good in make up funny and interesting things and everything that happens with our participation promises a lot of fun. So we invite everyone to join.

For fans of the guest teams, all possible facilities will be created. An art-of-science integrated payment system has been launched, which allows guests of the country to use their own credit cards, payment systems and banknotes directly, without resorting to currency exchange operations. The fans will benefit from the artificial intelligence system “Keith”, free for connection and use, which acts as a translator, transport consultant, leisure organizer, hotel search engine, and a ticket service for cultural events. Volunteers in costumes of saber-toothed cats, which was a mascot of our team, are placed at key points in the transport network, starting with the huge international airport, in order to help if something goes wrong.

Just in case, to make it easier to plan a visit, we publish exchange rates (countries ranked by appearance in the group table)

Named after a pioneer of football in Welzat, the stadium was built in 1995 and holds 19,595 people at max capacity.

The Welzat National Football Team also commonly known as the "Royals" is a relatively new sport in the country with the first traces coming around the turn of the 20th century. It would take many decades for the sport to really get a foothold in the country with Ice Hockey strongly holding on to first place and Lacrosse a close second. However, Sir James Tretol started a strong campaign of promoting the sport throughout the 50s and 60s with a national team being established in 1972. As of recently, the Royals have taken International Competition seriously and have launched into their second foray for the World Cup. This series will be especially watched by many as the country is currently experiencing small civil conflict and Prince Eberhand, the current leader of Welzat, has strongly encouraged all within the country to support the team and be patriotic for the event.

World Cup 85

Sargossa - 'The Corsairs'

After a period of hitherto unseen stability there’s a new rear end in the Corsairs’ hotseat. It would be harsh indeed to describe the current situation as a slump but after a poor showing at the last World Cup Finals, a performance that saw Sargossa edged out of the top qualification pot, and a tame quarter final exit at the Copa Rushmori long serving Rodrigo Defederico decided his time in charge had run its course.

Head Coach

Juan José Barreto
The latest into the family trade, Juan José follows in the footsteps of dad Julio and most notably grandfather Félix into the world of coaching. And they are quite some footsteps as Félix ‘The Professor’ Barreto is widely considered one of the finest Sargossan tacticians ever. But what he never achieved, due to bad timing and a Football Federation obsessed with all thing Candelariasian, was the chance to lead his country. Two generations later a Barreto finally gets the chance.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Luca Monzón
Defensive Coach: Guillermo Lucena
Attacking Coach: Alejandro Tapia
Goalkeeping Coach: Armando Abad
Fitness Coach: Mario Sánchez
Team Doctor: Dr Carla Segura

Talent

GK: 1. Roberto Penedo (30) – Ciudad Soluca
GK: 13. Sergio Arrabal (22) – Alianza Jucaro
GK: 25. Tomás Gaos (31) – Sportivo Cordova

Penedo’s chances of keeping hold of the number one spot are hardly hindered by the appointment of his club coach to the national team helm. Sergio Arrabal spent his formative years as a hugely talented understudy to Penedo at Ciudad. An excellent first season after his move to Jucaro is rewarded with a first call-up. Gaos provides a more experienced back-up option.

DR: 2. Carlos Carter (26) – Sporting San Marquez
DC: 5. Juan Esnáider (27) – Alianza Jucaro
DC: 6. Valentín Alarcón (25) – Ciudad Soluca
[b] DL: 3. Saúl Escribano (30) – Sportivo Soluca

DLC: 12. Josué Ruiz (28) – Ciudad Soluca
DRC: 14. Enrique Muñoz (32) – Sporting San Marquez
DR: 19. Alonzo Zevallos (33) – Ciudad Soluca
DC: 21: Hugo Galán (24) – Yaton FC (Taeshan)

Wingbacks tend to form the most important function in Barreto’s system and in Carter and Escribano he has nice balance in his first choice eleven. New captain Juan Esnáider will form a tough barrier at the back, mostly likely alongside Ciudad duo Ruiz and Alarcón. The ever-green stalwart Alaonzo Zevallos provides experience and a cutting thrust down the right if required.

DMC: 4. Esteban Pomar (25) – El Nacional
AMR: 7. Diego Puebla (33) – El Nacional
MC: 8. César Goyoso (30) – Sporting San Marquez
AML: 11. Esteban Leguizamo (25) – Blacklake Blues (Taeshan)
AMRC: 15. Daniel Correa (27) – Alianza Jucaro
MC: 16. Adrián Fonseca (28) – Ciudad Soluca
DMC: 18. Luís Vazquez (34) – Ciudad Soluca
MC: 22. Juan Sebastián Varela (22) – Alianza Jucaro
AMLC: 24. Mauro Pereira (26) – Sportivo Cordova

César Goyoso continues as the metronome at the heart of the Sargossan side. Adrián Fonseca excelled domestically under Barreto and is hot favourite to partner Goyoso in the centre, with Esteban Pomar providing some much needed bite. The Alianza scouts seem to have unearthed yet another diamond from the lower leagues in the form of Varela, he will surely play his part. A criticism levelled at Barreto in the past has been his unwillingness to switch from his basic 5-3-2, so wingers may get short shrift, but it’s a long campaign that may require fresh ideas.

FLC: 9. Mauricio Sainz (23) – Ciudad Soluca
FRLC: 10. Diego Alejandro Costa (25) – Ciudad Soluca
FC: 17. Fabián Guzmán (32) – Sporting San Marquez
FRC: 20. Diego Cazalla (22) – Alianza Jucaro
FL: 23. Alonzo Bienvenida (25) – Sportivo Cordova
FC: 26. Tomas Murillo (30) – Sportivo Soluca

The final transfer sanctioned by Barreto before he left Ciudad was the expensive and controversial cross-capital poaching of Diego Alejandro Costa to partner targetman Mauricio Sainz. That duo is expected to be the starting attack for the new look national side. Murillo and Guzmán are well seasoned operators and should compete with talented newcomer Cazalla for a starting berth.

Style

Juan José Barreto’s coaching philosophy is proof that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree’s tree. Granddaddy Félix was a 5-3-2 traditionalist and his grandson is very much built in the same image. His sides are built to be solid, with five at the back that soak up pressure before launching lightning fast wide counter strikes when possession is won back. As such the wingbacks are comfortably the most important pieces in the puzzle.

The SuperLiga is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while never encouraged, is also not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

Venues

Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado
City: Soluca
Capacity: 108,879
Tenants: Ciudad Soluca, Sportivo Soluca
Opponent(s): Cassadaigua, Kelssek, Olastor

The centrepiece of a major beautification development in the capital, the stadium sits within the Parque De Los Vencedores and alongside the Corazal River. Designed by Nethertopian architect Gert Naamloos and part financed by two SuperLiga clubs, the Sargossan government and Starblaydi sportswear giants ediraf it is a truly magnificent sporting arena. The Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, as the ediraf Arena was rechristened when the naming rights deal expired, is the epitome of a modern football stadium. Consequently, it is the national side’s most commonly used venue. Unfortunately, the glamourous surroundings are marred somewhat by the Soluca crowds’ reputation for being both fickle and moody.

Image
Image

Independienté
City: Goza
Capacity: 119,354
Tenants: El Nacional
Opponent(s): Barunia, Patistan

The very antithesis to the modern Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, and revelling in that fact. The internal facilities may have been kept relatively up to date at the Independienté but little has changed at the vast open bowl since its construction. The nation’s largest sporting venue and one that prides itself on the genuine carnival atmosphere produced on matchdays.

Ciudad Deportiva
City: Maturín
Capacity: 52,000
Tenants: Dínamo Maturín
Opponent(s): Timuria, Audiasania

Although the name has come to refer to the stadium alone the Ciudad Deportiva is actually a whole site devoted to sporting excellence. Constructed as part of a government drive to boast sport, the site is also home to the national Track and Field Centre of Excellence, an aquatic centre, basketball and volleyball facilities and a state-of-the-art sport science clinic. The stadium itself is an impressive venue that is regularly voted as the top matchday experience by fans in the SuperLiga. The Sargossan record there too is very strong, having dropped points only three times in the eighteen matches played in Maturín over the years.

Estadio Silva
City: San Marquez
Capacity: 62,543
Tenants: Sporting San Marquez
Opponent(s): Res Publica Nova Roma

Like the Independienté the Estadio Silva is one of the older venues used by the national side. Set within one of the poorer districts of the eclectic southern city of San Marquez, in amongst the brightly coloured favelas and street vendors, a trip to the stadium is more a cultural experience than a sporting one for the foreign visitor. Some famous nations have taken to the Estadio Silva turf in the past, names such as Sorthern Northland, Candelaria And Marquez and Cassadaigua.

Bonilla Arena
City: Jucaro
Capacity: 74,475
Tenants: Alianza Jucaro
Opponent(s): Ziwana, Xuzaqiy

The quintessential rich man’s play thing, Alianza Jucaro are the nearly men of Sargossan domestic football. Bankrolled by the mega-wealthy Bonilla family the club have won three national cup competitions in recent years but have never claimed the league title they so crave. While the Bonillas have thrown money at the playing staff they’ve also invested heavily in infrastructure, including the stadium that bears their name. Set in the South Quays district of the port city, right on the waters of the Bay of Carrasco, it’s an imposing venue for visiting sides.

Petro Dome
City: Mercada
Capacity: 42,511
Tenants: Petro Mercada
Opponent(s): Grod Island

In a city so synonymous with Petro National, the Sargossan national oil and gas company, it’s no surprise to find both the local football team and the stadium in which they play blazoned with the Petro name. Oil wealth has yet to equal success on the pitch for the Incan side but that wealth may have played some part in the city replacing island rivals Torreón in the World Cup rotation.

El Torrigal
City: Torreón
Capacity: 30,000
Tenants: Estrella Torreón
Opponent(s): The Mann Clan

Controversially dropped from hosting duties during the last World Cup cycle, one of the nation's oldest and most picturesque venues returns this time around. Nestled in the mountain fastness of Torreón, high amongst the Chalaco Mountains, El Torrigal is the smallest of the venues but one in which Sargossa enjoys a formidable record. In the ten previous fixtures held in the University city the Corsairs have won eight and drawn two.

Tequilo National Team
Los Pitxileros

Image
Team kits by GuileTeq
Home - agarve blue shirts with charcoal & white trim; agarve blue shorts; white & agarve blue hooped socks
Away - desert gold shirts; gold shorts & socks - all with agarve blue & white trim.

In the sprawling, continent-spanning country of Tequilo - more formally the Allied States of Tequilo or PAT, Patrias Aliadas de Tequilo - football was traditionally a matter for the regional sports authorities. So large and geographically interesting is Tequilo, that it once was formed of nine nations - six Latinique former colonies and three Indigo city-state empires - who clubbed together as jolly good friends and neighbours to gang up on their dreadfully superior and bossy neighbour to the north, a place they prefer to call Horizonte Oscuro. Anyway that is a history lesson for another cutoff, but in terms of football - or Pitxi in the local dialect - like most things it remained governed on a local basis by the nine football associations. But recently, in an effort to improve the quality of the pitxi on offer (and not at all to make more money, nonono) the nine associations formed one national association, the Unión de Pitxi de Tequilo; and the UPT has formed a national play-off system - Liga TQ - to decide it's country's annual champion. Ambitiously, it also entered the new national team - which had never existed in all the time pitxi was played across the PAT - into the coming World Cup and it's shortform pre-entertainment event, the Baptism of Fire.

Inexperienced in such matters, the UFT has appointed foreign type Dik ten Beuenk, 88, as Team Director. Ten Beuenk oversaw the entry of the tiny Principality of Mustardy into the last World Cup, where an unremarkable campaign exploded into life with an away victory in South Covello, one of the modern giants of the game. That, and the fact that the Red Herrings were not thrashed pillar-to-post through qualifying, won the UFT over when looking for an experienced head to guide this inexperienced nation through a World Cup campaign.

Mauricio Nores was appointed head coach of the new national team, and he brought two of his backroom staff with him from his domestic club, Motozintla of the Maranco state capital city Tirinto. Nores, along with coaches Isaac Martí and Juan Manuel Botín, were all on part time secondments from Motozintla for the duration of the Baptism of Fire. In a stunning display of attacking intent, Los Mextiqos as they dubbed themselves, were unbeaten through the tournament, scoring and incredible 45 goals but tragically being eliminated at the semi-final stage on a penalty shootout after a thrilling 4-4 draw against Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom. The team went on to win the ‘losers final’ 3-0 to finish third overall, as Mavinet triumphed in the final against ZRH.

Mauricio Nores has stunned the multiverse - well the world, anyway; ok, he has stunned Tequilo - by deciding that he will return to club football and his Motozintla role to concentrate on their rebuilding programme, ‘Make Moto Great Again’, leaving an opening for the task of World Cup qualifying. Stepping up from his role as coach for the national team, and leaving his post as Assistant Manager at Moto alongside Nores, Isaac Martí becomes the first permanent manager of Tequilo. Juan Manuel Botín, the young Moto coach, will stay on in his role as part time coach for the national team, whilst doing the same at his club as a part time coach for Mauricio Nores. So, with Mateo Tafalla maintaining el capitan’s armband, The Moto connection at the national team remains strong. Mustardo Dik ten Beuenk maintains his role as Team Director whilst Luka Entenza, former coach at Argón, will join the coaching team.

For the purpose of media marketing, the PR company attached the UFT has decided the national team will take the nickname Los Pitxileros - imaginatively, ‘the footballers’. They hope to quietly forget the previous nickname which really didn’t catch on.

BACKROOM STAFF
Head Coach: Isaac Martí, 55, formerly Mauricio Nores’ assistant for the Baptism of Fire and previously at Motozintla FC.
Team Director: Dik ten Beuenk, 89, Mustardo advisor, a professor in a tracksuit.
Coach: Luka Entenza, 47, former coach at Argón Tacranza. Intense sort of fellow.
Coach: Juan Manuel Botín, 36, recently retired player for Motozintla, learning his trade with Isaac and Luka, apparently destined for moderately good things.
Team Captain: Mateo Tafalla, 31, possibly the best midfielder in Tequilo; completes the Motozintla trio running the show for the new national team.
Vice Captain: Haize Apeiztegui, 32, of Puezan state; a fearsome defender who plays his football at top club Unuiĝinta in Iragartze

PLAYING STAFF
Though tempted as he may have been to select an all-Motozintla squad for his first national team (they are certainly up there with the best of them, in Tequilo at least) Mauricio Nores was been careful to select a diverse squad for the Baptism of Fire that crossed the racial and provincial spectrums in such a massive country; with all six regions represented, all three Índigo (indigenous) city states, and all seven ethnic groups present in the country. With a massive 24 games for qualifying, Isaac will name a large 40-man squad that continues to select from across the Tequiloan diaspora.

In terms of the indicated starting line up, Isaac will not make major changes but Isidor Artechevarria and Tlacolotl look like being the main beneficiaries, moving to the top of his selection list after strong showings in the Baptism of Fire replacing Vilca Hualla and Narciso Cora respectively, who drop into the reserve list.

Isaac Martí is known to prefer a slightly more moderated attacking approach to that of Mauricio Nores - although he will field a similar formation he will not expect the same gung-ho approach that yielded 45 goals in eleven games through to the third-place play-off match. Expect attacking football, but with at least half an eye on shoring up the back. Less goals from defenders will be the order of the day.

ONES TO WATCH

Image
8. Mateo Tafalla
AMC | Motozintla FC | Age 31 | 11 caps, 7 goals | Team Captain
The great hope of Tequilo, captain of Motozintla, of the Maranco state representative XI and now of the new unified national team. The famously eccentric midfielder was the driving force of the most successful attack in the Baptism of Fire; in Tequilo and to some extent abroad, Mateo has accumulated wide admiration for his audacious play, cunning tricks, vision, and ability to control the pace of a match. He had his footballing education in Dolores, Tamarindia, variously with city clubs Bayona Cadíx, Piratas and Universitario before returning home to join the ‘Make Moto Great Again’ campaign under Mauricio Nores.

Image
2. Patrick Zambo
DL | Resplendiente | Age 31 | 10 caps, 4 goals
A marauding full back, Patrick was part of the 112th Maranco state season title winning campaign with the team from the city La Conon. A reliable and intelligent fullback, Zambo has made 48 appearances for the Maranco state Seleccion, scoring 3 goals, and was an obvious first choice for coach Mauricio Nores for the first ever unified Tequilo national team at the Baptism of Fire where he chipped in with four goals in ten games from the back. A tall and strong defender, he has a good turn of pace, doesn't mind getting forward a bit to link up with attacking wingers, and is comfortable on the ball. He can tackle too and has strong positional sense, with no real weakness to exploit in his play.

Image
4. Huracan
DC | Jaguar Ixtacomitán | Age 23 | 10 caps, 4 goals
Another of Tequilo's classy defenders, who really impressed in the Baptism of Fire tournament. The young centre back Huracan, of the Ixta people, is only 23 and a surprisingly slight fellow for a player task with holding up the last line of defence. But don't be deceived; to the pitxi fans of Tequilo, this talented defender seems to have already been around for an age, having made his league debut for Jaguar Itxacomitán at only 15 years old. Full name Patzin Cihuacoh Xihuidira-Nogue, Huracan has won three state championships; his needle-point tackling and boundless energy made him a fans favourite early on, and with more than 150 appearances for the team already, he is well on the way to being a club legend. He also looks set to become a fixture in the new unified national team.

Image
9. Tlacolotl
ST | Pitxi-Pitxi 77 | Age 19 | 7 caps, 8 goals
One of 77os prodigios, striker Tlacolotl went to Delaclava as an untried reserve and finished leading the line into the semi-finals and third place playoff of the Baptism of Fire. Full name Hunaphu Ah-Kuhmix-Unicob Tlaco Xumucane, Tlacolotl is a striker in the old-fashioned hooligan mould, a fearsome competitor, never afraid to mix it up, physically and mentally able to intimidate much bigger defenders through sheer force of will, and also technically competent. No-one will match him in the air and if you put him down on the ground - no mean feat, well done - be warned he will never stay down for long and when he gets back up, he will be coming for you. Having now spent two seasons at Pitxi Pitxi he has made the number 10 shirt his own, and looks set for a glittering career scoring goals and busting noses.

Image
10. Roxelio Toran
ST | Ciupa Azul | Age 25 | 6 caps, 8 goals
The first player to score a brace and then a hattrick (plus one) for the nation, the gifted striker is garnering plenty of attention from Tequilo’s big players, SC Pedregal and SC Raití among others - and let’s be frank, Ciupa Azul haven’t won anything for 70 years and don’t look like doing so any time soon. He may not be a man to make a hasty decision, but surely as he reaches his golden years, he will want to be winning things? His appearances in Delaclava, cut short at the end of the group stage through injury, suggest that he could be gone sooner rather than later. A piece of useless trivia on Roxelio - if you think he looks a lot like famous Tequiloan comic poet Bermúdez (full name Iago Bermúdez), well, you would be right - they are cousins!

Image
21. Oscar Bienvenida
GK | Tumuloa Xico | Age 18 | 6 caps, 2 clean sheets
The rise and rise of baby goalkeeper Oscar Bienvenida, who had barely been heard of outside of his club Tumuloa Xico but today stands on the brink of international stardom thanks to his cat-like exploits for the new national team in the Baptism of Fire! Tumuloa, spotting a great young talent, have been concentrating on a bulking-up diet and although still something of a streak of pipí, he has strengthened up considerably and more than holds his own in the box. As was seen in his performances in Delaclava, not only can he stand up to overbearing forwards, he also marshalls his box confidently and has all the ingredients to become a natural captain for club and country.

Image
16. Ixtub Tün
DMC | Pitxi-Pitxi 77 | Age 17 | 3 caps, 1 goal
One of Tequilo’s undisputed great prospects of our time, the young man they call El Tren - The Train: Ixtub Tün. Second youngest in the squad after Niño Pinto, at sixteen the Pitxi-Pitxi 77 defensive midfielder is still a baby but you wouldn’t call him that if he was stood in front of you - at 192cm and weighing in at 107 kilos he really is a beast already. On the field of play he is no slouch despite the weight he has to pull, and it takes two men to knock him down. He is a giant. But it is not all about his physique and throwing his considerable weight around - Ixtub is an impressive reader of the game already, calm on the ball, he does the simple things well and his presence is reassuring both to the defence behind him and to the attackers in front.

Image
18. Niño Pinto
AMC | Índigo Huayna | Age 17 | 3 caps, 1 goal
Holding the records for youngest debut, youngest starter and youngest goalscorer for the national team, all before his 17th birthday, the impish midfielder has already secured several modelling contracts and looks set to be quite the heartthrob of young Tequiloan society. Declining the approaches of more successful Huayna-Comitán cross-town rivals Acacoyagua, the lad signed for traditional Huayna people’s favourite Índigo before his tenth birthday, and has been watched intently ever since by envious rival clubs. A hit at every level of youth football, he broke into his club’s first team at 15 and has not looked back. A stylish midfielder with an eye for goal and a great reader of the game, he looks like the natural candidate to replace Mateo Tafalla once his reign at the top comes to an end.

The average Tequiloan has an exceedingly high SQ (shambolic quotient) meaning they are really very good at creating and thriving in chaos… they get things done, in a very roundabout and often nonsensical way, usually with an unbelievably high portion of luck. They are happy to lose, as long as it is in chaotic fashion - it's all about the journey, not the result. Apparently.

Following the continued grumbling around the country that home qualifying matches could have been shared around the states, the Tequiloan football authorities, the UPT, have acceded to demands and will plan for the next six home matches to be played in different states, ending with a final match - and who knows, perhaps it will be a qualification decider - back at the Estadio Pablo Invocador in Tapalupé. The following schedule has been announced for the back half of qualifying, with travel and stadium details for visiting fans and journalists to be posted in due course (dates given are in the standard Sixteen Bits Symmetrical Calendar (SB) used across the Costelloan Ideology):

West Pocono is a puppet of Newmanistan. There is no official connection between the nations, but West Pocono considers Newmanistan a major ally. As such, many players have taken the opportunity to play professionally in Newmanistan. Players that I have not labeled as playing in Newmanistan can be considered available for international transfer.
