Darkest Hour yes an absolutely stunning performance from Gary Oldman, but the directing and story telling felt really flat to me. Seemed a bit like a BBC costume drama rather than a big budget film.

I enjoyed this film when I watched it, but I do understand where you're coming from. Still, I really enjoyed it. I enjoy any historical film to be honest, albeit historical inaccuracies can be painful.

Last film I watched was Blinded by the Light. Awesome film with a great plot, and Bruce Springsteen.

furtopia i think it was called. i don't go to movies often. partially because they've become too expensive, and partial because they are too seldom about things that interest me, and even then, how the subject matter is treated seldom does. i mean it does happen, but few and far between.

even books have gotten too expensive. new ones anyway. so i just have to make up my own worlds in my head, make my own images and animations of exploring them.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

The Truman Show.

After watching Contact, it's a bit underwhelming by comparison (albeit a bad comparison), but it is a good movie, and manages to combine its comedy and critique well.

Last film was Logan Lucky.. Adam Driver carried the film, as per usual. An enjoyable heist flick, but I wasn't really in the mood for it I think. 7.5/10

Phone Booth. It seems like a such an absurd premise but it's executed really well, I absolutely loved it.

Good, but really falls behind in comparison to Insurrection and First Contact.

Ad Astra.

I can see why critics loved it, because it's the sort of snooze-fest character study that critics always love. All I saw was a tedious mess of plot holes and bad science that ultimately didn't have anything particularly interesting to say.

The Bridge at Remagen

Seen the second half of it a couple times, this was the first time I actually watched it from the beginning. What really impressed me was that they were using actual WWII armored vehicles instead of the usual postwar stand-ins.
