US States names and shapes: What would you change?

Get rid of Alabama and divide it up between Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Then at least some parts of Alabama would be useful.

Every single US state west of MIMAL should have their borders redrawn because I hate how most borders west of MIMAL are all straight up just straight lines and it looks really ugly to me. Not exactly saying I would get rid of all of them but I would get rid of as many as it is sensible in a way that looks pretty on the map.

States east of MIMAL aren't spared though. Seriously what is up with Tennessee? Pennsylvania and Mississippi too what the hell? Virginia is somewhat passable but it needs some fixing and Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut should all be redrawn.

Some highlights for the places west are Colorado and Wyoming which are literally squares (curved squares with the curvature of the Earth), the Dakotas, Montana which looks like water spewing out of a thick pipe, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. California isn't so good either but at least it isn't as perfectly shaped as some of the other states.

Yeah, what happened to states with unique shapes like Michigan or Indiana or Florida? Use the natural features around you, western states! Take lessons from Europe!

1. Why does there have to be a West Virginia? Sure the state makes for a great song, but I feel Virginia could eat it up and the borders would look much cleaner and much nicer.
2. Please merge North and South Carolina. I've literally had thoughts that lasted for 30 minutes where I would imagine North Carolina and South Carolina as one state and it looks great.

Besides that, I'm fulfilled with the rest of the map. The Western portion of America looks great as always, so I would not understand if anyone wanted to change the Western American states.

Deseret is a decent name, but we definitely cannot change the borders to match the proposed Desert one.

The entire south excluding Georgia and North Carolina needs a makeover. Florida's panhandle is far too long. Tennessee should be absorbed by Kentucky.

I wouldn't be against most of the entire area becoming a state. Just take the Utah Territory and remove that bit of Colorado while adding Arizona and the rest of Nevada. California can keep their southern cities
