When Bernard Porter waits a month to denounce Nazis and repeatedly advocates unAmerican and fascist ideas, he made a mistake and should be forgiven, but when Govenor Prendergast makes an error in judgement and correct himself, it’s a freudian slip? Give me a break.

Bernie is right Republicans are the pro-life party that means we need to value lives of children both born and unborn. I fullheartedly support his idea of giving every family 12,000 dollars per child per year. No longer will the families across the country be forced to make the unconscionable choice of either killing their children and eating or not killing their children and starving!

What is so "socialist" about promoting family values and defending human life Representative? By adopting this policy we will spark the revival of the nuclear family, and prevent parents from being forced to abort their children. Is 12,000 dollars too high of a price tag for a human life representative? I personally do not think so.

I hardly think the plan proposed by Milton Friedman and supported by Friedrich Hayek is socialist in the least. This would have none of the restrictions of welfare: you could still work and earn your $12,000 a year on top of your salary. It would still incentivize work.

Next to it, he could make out the figure of Howard Frankston, wearing a button up shirt with dark green pants and brown boots. Howard seemed to be focusing, there were five targets, each with two holes in the chest and only one without a hole in the head. Randall would arrive just in time for Howard to place the bullet squarely in the head, "hah, five for five," he turned, "Randy!"

He put the rifle down, "I wasn't sure if you were going to come, I thought I'd de-stress a little as it were. Come, walk with me," he began leading them towards the stables.

Randy followed him. "Thanks for having me. I assume you wanted to talk about the Texas Special Election. And before anyone wants to get mad at me, I've decided to back-off on the recount. But I learnt something that may take your interest."

"I'm all ears," he smiled, appreciative of the backing off.

Karen nodded as she listened.

"I completely understand. I think that debate was my fault for underestimating Randy, though someone more traditional like Shah shouldn't be a major issue, especially given his poor business dealings. It opens him wide for a strong attack and something we hit. As for your comments, I can definitely hit the target on big government and guns and abortions. Though I might not outright hit the socialist line, seems a little trite for my tase. Don't want to go overboard like with the Republicans shouting Nazi at Porter every second. Kinda of loses the bite."

She finished.

URGENT

When consideration on the Atang-Vohoffsky cannabis bill is up, keep the floor of the House clear. The Speaker and I have priority legislation coming that will need to be considered urgently by the House of Representatives and we are eager to avoid any further delays. As such, please do not move to introduce any more legislation until that has happened, and please vote against any Republican attempts to introduce legislation.

Levi Murphy Rally
Charleston, West Virginia

Image

While Governor Prendergast was stuck in St Paul, Levi's stomping ground, the Senator thought he should pay a visit to West Virginia. The campaign had organised a rally in the state to gather the forces, build some support and great a larger donor base coming towards the first Democratic Debate. West Virginia was a key state in the primary as it had great potential as a progressive victory. Baginski carried the state quite strongly in the 2016 primary, so Levi was interested in building off that energy to secure his own win the state. That would include arriving there long before their primary date to let the people in the state know that he actually cares. The make-shift stage was set up, the crowds began to gather. A large LEVI 2020 banner was hung up. Campaign signs were handed out the crowd. It was ready for Levi to start.

Levi walked confidently on stage. He was wearing a casual outfit, he had a t-shirt with a large snake on it. It read 'Will strike if threatened', in a reference to his union activities in Minnesota which helped develop his political career. West Virginia was a good environment for that kind of messaging. "Hello, West Virginia!" He received an applause and cheers from the crowd of supporters. "I've had to come over here because the Republicans are crowding out St Paul at the moment," he joked, in reference to the Republican Debates. "What a shit-show that is turning out to be. It's rich guys, and one woman, talking about how best they can screw over working people like you and me. Give me a break, our politics is about people, not money. Our politics is about real plans for change. When will you hear of real plans for change with Republicans? Never. IT's always in reaction to our plans. So it isn't much of a surprise that none of them supported Medicare for All - the most popular healthcare model with the American public."

"I'm sure you all know, or have heard of Prendergast Junior. I reckon if he was the Republican nominee we could win West Virginia!" This provoked applause. "Or bring on Richardson, Porter, Paulson, our campaign, our coalition can beat any of them. You know why? We are building a coalition of working class people, like yourselves, of young people, a very wide coalition to win the primary and finally win in 2020. We can fight and we can win on the principles of Medicare for All, putting workers first, an plan to clean out the swamp and end the corruption in Washington D.C. We can win fighting for $15 an hour, to ensure working people can have the dignity of a living wage. We can win fighting for a end to the disastorous free trade deals. Unlike other candidates in the race, I'm opposed to them! But I am also opposed to Wolf's terrible, trash new trade deal he negotiated called USMCA: it's the new NAFTA. It's time to tear that up. It's time to finally ban corporation donations to clean up our politics, end the swamp for real and put body cameras on lobbyists so real people like you and me can see what they're up to."

"Apparently Mr Prendergast didn't like our plan for lobbyists. So, Mr Prendergast, what and who are you hiding? I don't mind if lobbyists have body cameras that upload their streams to C-SPAN because no lobbyists even walks into my office. And if they did, boy, they're in for one hell of a ride," Levi exclaimed, the crowd roared. "This is a message to all of you corporate lobbyists, consultants and insiders: don't bother coming into my office unless you want to be kicked out. That's why I'm running my campaign only on small dollar donations, it's people like all of you that keep this campaign alive and well. We don't take corporate donations, no way. We don't hire corporatists to run our campaigns. We hire working class people to fight for working class people. We don't have any shadowy Super PACs supporting us. But we sure do have shadowy Super PACs attacking us! You won't see me mingling with the rich and well to do in Beverly Hills either, or in the penthouses of New York City. No, you'll see me rallying working people to find for a better politics, fight for a new government that puts them first, not the few."

"I'm working for the many, not the few. Unlike the other candidates, I'm not taking corporate cash and I never will. I will never have these Super PACs supporting me and I never will. So, join our movement to fight for our communities, from the coal miners, to the retail workers, to the nurses, doctors and teachers. I stood up for our striking teachers in West Virginia, despite the attacks from Governor Prendergast. I stood up for the bus-drivers of Minnesota when I led the strike against the Republican Governor. It's time we mobilize working people once again, not just to fight for better benefits, healthcare and wages, but to fight for a better America. To fight for Medicare for all. So please, join us. Donate to our campaign if you can. Volunteer with us, help persuade your family, friends and neighbors. We're going to take back our government from the corporate elite, but we need a strong, grass-roots movement to do so. Make sure you're enrolled to vote and then we're going to take this fight to the insiders in Washington D.C. Thank you very much."

DNC Headquarters, Washington D.C.

Two Ubers pulled up by the main entrance of the DNC Headquarters at an unusually late time for the type of meeting that was about to happen. Clara Zhang, DNC Chair, was building infrastructure for data analytics ahead of the 2020 election and had looked to contract an external consulting firm for weeks, going ahead with allowing one such firm to give a full presentation of what they had to offer. The representatives of the consulting firm, whose average age was likely just under 30, made it through the revolving doors in pairs of two. Their suits were smart, clean, and fitted, and no one had gotten their last haircut longer than two weeks ago. The most senior of the firm's representatives was the first to greet Zhang, extending his hand and introducing the others one by one. Once introductions had been dealt with, they moved into a conference room.

The data analytics firm had worked with a number of Democratic races, and having already increased the number of campaigns consulted for from 7 in 2014, to 27 in 2016, and 41 in 2018, the growing elections division at the firm was ready for more. As the Wolf campaign had utilized a sophisticated but under-reported data operation in 2016, Zhang had wanted to develop one herself since becoming DNC Chair, not in the least because of(Not-Clinton) placing a chunk of the blame for her defeat on the DNC's 2016 efforts in the data department. With this preface, it was less controversial for her to move the DNC from the in-house Vertica data analytics department with a staff of 40 to an expert liberal-leaning data consultancy whose operation would be ready way before a new data system could be developed.

The presentation followed like a well-rehearsed manuscript, without a single irrelevant word and perfect delivery of each line. Going through data brokerage, mining, and analysis methods as well as ways to make it presentable to campaign staffers without much experience with voter data and concrete information on what the DNC might expect from having the firm as a retainer. After the presentation, Zhang and the DNC key people present questioned them for nearly two hours, where they handled themselves well. Entering negotiations over the contract the day after, it seemed as though the DNC would have a brand new and modern data operation at its disposal before the end of Summer.
